  • PB30 / PB10 "Store busines document" as business Object "PAPL"

    My problem is that i´d like to attach documents to an applicant within PB10 or PB30. To do so i want to use the "Store business document" function but  this function is only applicable for business object APPLICANT. I need BO PAPL so that the document are visible in Poratal (MSS).
    Has anyone an idea how to do this?

    Hi,
    Attachments are stored in binary format.
    Advantage of  storing in SAP is speedy access, than compared to content server.
    Disadvantage some of the table space grows exponently.
    Some of the tables attachments get stored are SO*
    To get the link for the folder and attachments stored in SRGBTBREL
    Various type of attachments are ATTA NOTE URL MSG etc.
    For custom attachment options can be enabled using class CL_GOS_MANAGER
    aRs
    If useful pl. assign points

  • Error when I try to send document to Business Objects Inbox in Infoview

    I am testing XI 3.1 and when I select a Webi document then click on the option to send a document to a Business Objects Inbox, I get the following error:
    An Error has occurred: Unspecified error.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Paula,
    Following solutions might help you to resolve the issue.
    Following are the rights you need to apply so that the particular set of users can
    send the document to other useru2019s inbox.
    1. Send the Document to Inbox
    Any files stored in the CMS, even the agnostic ones, can be sent to a useru2019s Inbox.
    The file is sent as is, without any refresh in the case of Web Intelligence or Desktop
    Intelligence file.
    To send a document to a useru2019s Inbox, the following rights must be granted:
    u2022 Send document right for Info View application, if the document is sent from Info View
    u2022 Add objects to Folder and View objects rights for the destination Inbox folder
    2. Add a User or A Group to another Group.
    To add a user or a group into a destination group, the following rights must be granted:
    u2022 View objects, Edit objects rights for the destination group
    u2022View objects, Edit objects rights for the source user or group
    u2022Schedule to destinations right should also be granted to the particular group to which
    the user belongs, and download files associated with the object.
    Default users (non-administrative users) should have rights to add objects to other
    useru2019s inbox.
    1. Login to CMC.
    2. In CMC, Home - Inboxes - Rights - Everyone - Advanced - "Explicitly Grant" the
    right 'Add Objects to the folder' and 'View Objects' rights.
    3. In CMC, Home - Groups - Rights - Everyone - Advanced - "Explicitly Grant" the
    right 'Add Objects to the folder' and 'View Objects' rights.
    4. In CMC, Home - Categories - Rights - Everyone - Advanced - "Explicitly Grant" the
    right 'Add Objects to the folder' and 'View Objects' rights.

  • Business Objects Composer

    According to the Supported Platforms document for Business Objects Composer there is only a connectivity between Composer 11.7.0 and Data Integrator R2. The latest documentation of Composer in the Business Objects Product Guide is XIR2. Does Composer XIR2 (11.7.0) work with Data Services XI 3.1? Is it still conveniant to use Composer or was its functionality yet integrated in the functionality of DS?

    Yes, the Composer version 11.7.1 is compatible with Data Integrator/Data Services XI 3.x. This means Composer will be able to use the Data Services XI 3.x webservices needed for the profiling and the generated atl for the jobs in Composer can be imported in Data Services XI 3.x.
    Make sure you use the 11.7 .1  version and you should be fine.

  • Migration of Database from Oracle to SQL Server in Business Objects XI 3.1

    Hi,
    Currently, We are working on Business Objects XI 3.1 and Database is  Oracle 11g. And now we have the requirement to migrate from Oracle 11g to SQL Server 2008 R2.
    I would like to know what are the key points to be considered in business objects XI 3.1 when the database is migrated from oracle to SQL server.
    If anyone can share the Impact analysis document for Business Objects, it would be great.
    Thanks,
    Lavanyaa TP

    If you use business objects tools for such migration , the impact should be minimal.
    CMSDBCopy mechanism from CCM should work fine for this purpose.

  • Error message in DTW when choosing any document business object

    Hi,
    We have an issue uploading AR Invoices, Credit Notes etc. with DTW.
    We have installed DI-APIs and DTW on a server, which does not have SBO installed. DI-API was installed by copying and running the installation files from a server with SBO 2005 (680320) installed. This is the same server that we are connecting to in DTW. DTW was also installed by copying the setup.exe file for SBO2005 SP01 from another place.
    All business objects work fine (Chart of Accounts, Business Partners, Items etc.) except for all document objects (Credit notes, Invoices etc.). The following error message is received:
    "Runtime error!
    C:\program files\SAP\Data Transfer Workbench\DTW.exe
    abnormal program termination"
    We also tried with another data migration program called xFusion Studio. But also here documents upload generates an error message:
    "An exception was thrown by target of an invocation"
    Do you know if this is due to a problem with the DI-APIs?
    Could the problem be related to the fact that SBO is not installed on the server? Anything else?
    Very thankful for help.
    Tobias.
    Edited by: External Consultant on Feb 8, 2008 12:04 AM

    If the issue was due to SBO not installed on Server then none of the templates should have worked. But you seem to have COA and BP working.
    How sure are you that your templates are fine.
    If possible could you comment here about the columns of your template that have data.

  • PortalRuntimeException in Business Object document iview No portal component associated with the following context

    Hi all,
    We are stumped with a problem in our QA Enterprise Portal (7.3.1 Sp7) that throws a portal runtime error when we preview a Business Objects document iview.  The Business Objects Server versions are 4.0 SP5 and/or 4.1 SP3.
    The error is caught in the the defaultTrace file, /usr/sap/QNW/J00/j2ee/cluster/server0/log
    [EXCEPTION]

    Here is what we have tried
    * Confirmed the iviews exist in the PCD, by browsing to the content folders and right lick, preview on the iview.
    * Our PRD and DEV systems work correctly and are on same versions of EP Runtime and java. 7.3.1.7.0.201..
    * Occurs with all Businessobjects iviews from the QA portal and all doc types, webis, dashboards. Tried creating new iview.
    * Reapplied the com.sap.businessobjects.iviews.templates.epa to the Portal from t he BI 4.1 SP3 distribution
    * Deleted and recreated the BI portal system connector using the SAP BOBJ system template set path to http://bi-qas:8080/BOE
    * Set the embed key value in the BI system connector property and in the custom global.properties file, restarted tomcat and SIA services
    * Set permissions for everyone end user on the content folders and the BI system connector
    * Confirmed Single sign on configured correctly between BI and Portal
    * Confirmed that the QA BI server is configured correctly by directing the working DEV Portal to the QA BI server.
    * Performed actions in note 1709737
    We are certainly stuck and the defaultTrace file is not very informative.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

    This is resolve with note 1615838  - SAP Netweaver Enterprise Portal 7.3 iView creation with BI 4.0 results in exceptions.
    The note includes a file portalapp.xml that need to be inserted into com.sap.businessobjects.iviews.par that is included in the BI server distribution.
    Then deploy the ear file.....
    Odd thing is that the note mentions 4.0 and we are on 4.1 SP3...

  • SRM 7.0 business object / individual procurement document direct URL access

    Hello,
    While our Basis team is configuring the Portal integration with our newly upgraded SRM 7.0 system, I am wondering if it's possible to take a sneak peak at the business object on the WebDynpro screen, for example, via SICF webdynpro service, such as
    /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sapsrm/wdcc_v_rfq_puchaser
    After activating all relevant services (as far as I understand), I tried to access the following URL directly on the browser:
    https://<server;domain>:<port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sapsrm/wdcc_v_rfq_purchaser?sap-client=010&sap-language=EN?
    I encountered the "Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible" exception on the web page. I think it's due to the missing object type and object id reference on the HTTP parameters. But what are the parameter name(s) that are required on the URL? Does anybody have the experience in accessing an individual document through direct URL?
    Thanks,

  • Document attachment to a business object

    Hi All,
    I am trying to attach a document to a business object. Can anybody tell me what is the function module I need to use for this ?
    Please help.

    Hi,
    If you are using a Web UI, then i suppose you can attach documents or URL's through Attachments assignment block in the transaction.
    If not, can you explain in detail, what is the requirement.

  • Loading documents and attaching them to business objects

    Hi,
    I am trying to load documents (Word and PDF files) into a content management server linked to a SAP CRM system. The documents need to be attached to business objects such as interaction records (BUS2000126) and service tickets (BUS2000116).
    I have experimented with FMs <b>BDS_BUSINESSDOCUMENT_CREATEF</b> and <b>ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT</b> but haven't yet found the right combination of values. The best I have done is to create a link which is visible in the GUI as an icon, but when I double click on it, I get an error message saying that the document does not exist (error 404).
    The import parameters I am using in BDS_BUSINESSDOCUMENT_CREATEF are:
    LOGICAL_SYSTEM = [blank]
    CLASSNAME = ZCSIP_LTR (a value from table TOADV)
    CLASSTYPE = BO
    CLIENT = [default]
    OBJECT_KEY = [blank]
    FILES
      DOC_COUNT = 00000001
      COMP_COUNT = 00000001
      COMP_ID = [blank]
      DIRECTORY = U:\DOCUMENTS\TEST DATA\
      FILENAME = FA.PDF
      MIMETYPE = application/pdf
    SIGNATURE
      DOC_COUNT = 00000001
      PROP_NAME = BDS_CONTREP
      PROP_VALUE = ZT (my content repository name)
    The FM returns a GUID as the OBJECT_KEY ...
    Then I am using ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT as follows:
    ARCHIV_ID = ZT
    ARC_DOC_ID = [GUID returned by BDS_BUSINESSDOCUMENT_CREATEF]
    AR_OBJECT = ZCSIP_LTR (a value from table TOADV - as above)
    MANDANT = [default client as above]
    OBJECT_ID = [GUID of the object I want to attach the document to]
    SAP_OBJECT = [Business object identifier] e.g. BUS2000126
    DOC_TYPE = PDF
    Can what I need to do be achieved through just using BDS_BUSINESSDOCUMENT_CREATEF? What import parameters should I use? What values should they contain?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Peter

  • Business Object linked to application document

    hi All,
    Is there any standard tcode or way to find out a given business object is linked to what all application documents?
    Like for example i would like to know BO FIPP is linked or can be used for what all documents or tcodes??
    How can find out??
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hello Raj,
    this is indeed a sad thing, not having a control table that links transaction codes to objects or classes. The GOS-Integration (Generic Object Services) are implemented within each transaction and usually the business object types used there are hard coded.
    You can have a look at the where-used-list of ABAP class CL_GOS_MANAGER. You'll find an example here, include LMEORF1M at form routine  bus2053_object_publish.  There  you'll see the common way of how objects are used/published.
    Furthermore, the event creation/handling is also usually hard coded.
    Not all transactions that make use of business objects, also use the GOS. So you'll always get a part of this.
    You can also have a look at the where-used-list of Business Object Interface IFGOS.
    Best wishes

  • Business Object document.

    Hi all
             I am new in business object so anyone pls send some basic document on BO so i can understand  the concept of BO
    i will assign points for helpful documents.

    Hi Ganesh,
    Bussiness Object is the reporting toll of data warw house
    BI is itself a data ware house.
    the next generation SAP BI will be using BO as reporting tool instead of BeX.
    BO is a Reporting tool. Presently we are using BI BEX tool for reporting. slowly BI BEX tool is replacing by BO.
    Use Netveawer and SAP BW for the Backend and Master data management or Use Data Integartor. For Front End Use BEX tools for QR$A or use the BO Suite.
    BO has many advantages over BEX tool like using BO we can creat crystal reports ets.

  • Business Objects Demo documents

    Hi All,
    Client has requested for a demo on Business object reporting features.  Due to system constraints and short time frame, we are looking for demo of Business Objects reporting features that can be presented to the client.
    Architecture
    Proposed solution features  BOBJ XI 3.1 SP2 as a front End Reporting Tool with SAP BW 7.0 as the back end data warehouse tool. SAP ECC 6.0 acts as the source system for SAP BW for all the data requirements.
    ECC 6.0 -SAP BW 7.0-SAP BOBJ XI 3.1- EP
    Reports are created on top of SAP BW 7.0  using SAP Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2 tools ( Xcelsius, Web Intelligence and Crystal reports) as front end reporting tool . User will be accessing the reports from Enterprise Portal.
    Do we have any demo representation of the BOBJ reporting features (reports are accessed from EP) on a end user perspective? The demo would feature the following scenario
    1) User logging into Enterprise portal and accessing the reports created and published using Business Objects tools ( Single Sign On).
    2) Report opens up with  different I-views in one web page. The different I-views shall be based on reports created using different BOBJ tools ( Xcelsius, Web Intelligence and Crystal reports) .
    3) Possible navigational features possible in these reports . Example can be
    a.     Switch to graphical representation from table format
    b.     Save data into excel format
    c.     Drill down/Slice and Dice in reports
    d.     Summarized and detail level of data
    e.     Insert calculations
    f.     Add rows and columns to tables
    g.     Formatting report
    h.     Other navigation features
    4) Create ad hoc reports using WebI and publishing the reports in Portal Favorites?
    5) Distribution of reports
    If you have any related documents, would you be able to share with us.
    Regards,
    Manesh

    Hi Nicolai,
    in this case you have to implement within ABAP a class for the SES interface.
    Within this class you have to fetch the document content and store it in an attribute for SES.
    This class implementation will be used by SES Framework to send it to TREX for indexing and searching.
    So this is a customer ABAP development project based on SES Framework.
    This is also done within the SAP Consulting Solution mentioned in Hinweis 1332745 - trex based document search with classification support.
    Here the DMS originals are indexed with the DRAW data within SES.
    So have a closer look how to use and implement own classes for SES in help.sap.com.
    Best regards
    Frank
