Document preview shows EDIT option even if someone does not have edit rights
From what I can see, in the document preview panel in search results one of the options says "EDIT" even though the searcher only has read rights. Is this correct? If so is there a way of changing it so that it says "OPEN" if the document
is read-only to the user?
No way to change it that I am aware of. For the most part MS doesn't impose a lot of permissions checking on links in dialogues. To do that would require a lot of extra processing.

Hi all,
I've a user account that's meant to perform staffing, based on the actual HR role. The system is also set up with an infogroup that contains infotypes 0000, 0001, 0006, 0185, XYZ and other infotypes; XYZ representing an actual infotype. The HR role is not supposed to have this infotype XYZ.
When PA40 is used, infotype XYZ will be skipped, as the user account do not have authorisation for it. I could then proceed to create the record.
When the fm: hr_maintain_masterdata is used, I was prompted that I do not have authorisation for infotype XYZ.
I have setup my fm with the mininum amount of values, as indicated below.
I did not populate a table for "proposed_values" so the infotypes called were due to the actions of the infogroup.
fm: hr_maintain_masterdata
pernr = 01234567
massn = 01 (new staff)
actio = INS (insert record)
tclas = A (master record)
begda = 01.09.2010
endda = 31.12.9999
werks = myCompanyPlant

Q. Is there any way to let the function module call the infotypes, with authorisation checks, as what PA40 is doing?

James WongA behaviour that has been observed was that, after infotype 0185 was saved, the function module throws me back to infotype 0000, citing, "No authorization to maintain XYZ exists". Data that I had populated to the screen, either via the FM or by manual input were cleared. If I skip the next 4 screens, I'll arrive at the Infotype after XYZ, with the data populated. Subsequent infotypes also have their data filled in.
Once I complete the sequence, the personnel record will be created. Upon examination, the frist 4 screens that were skipped in the 2nd pass contains data that were entered in the 1st pass.
My question, as posted in the original post, is why infotype XYZ is triggered by the function module, as the staffing account does not hae access for it. If I repeat the process using PA40, the infotype is skipped accordingly.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have Photoshop elements 10 and have been trying to copy albums onto a flash drive to show slide show on my TV. 10 does not have a flash drive connection, so I am trying to put it on my harddrive. When I hit the export to harddrive or anything else, I get a message saying it is trying to locate and reconnect missing photos, goes into a search mode and displays the identifiers of the located images. When I try to follow the directions for reconnecting I get nowhere. Can you help?

You could use an iPhone as a personal hotspot for the iPad or get a mifi device and use that as a mobile hotspot - you can't plug a USB dongle into the iPad, it won't be recognised.

When I open iTunes, it will not allow me to preview or download TV shows. The preview and download options are gray and will not let me view them. I have tried installing the latest Quicktime but it tells me that I have to do software update and when I do, Quicktime does not appear to need an update. I have no idea what to do
Click on your preference and check the Parental tab for possible restrictions. Open iTunes, then click the iTunes menu, select preferences after the window opens click on the Parental icon, take a look at the content restrictions section.

I really need someone to help me. I have been trying to figure out how to select a PDF document to convert to a Word doc. When I go to select a PDF file, all that shows up is the WORD docs. does not show ANY of my PDF files... Please help me figure out what is going on? We have it set on auto renewal so I know its not that we haven't renewed this subscription, because we pay automatically.

It sounds like there may be some confusion on your system about what application should be associated with PDF files. You can reset filename associations by following the steps in these articles (depending on your operating system):

I have a UK apple mac and im trying to use mirroring so when searching google, ebay, writting document it shows up on my tv but i dont have the option of 'Mirroring' when i click on the rectangular box in lower right hand corner. Anyone have advice on how I can do this?

It also requires the computer to be using wi-fi.

why doesn't the PS CC font preview show font families any more? Now i have to scroll through 4,400 fonts every time!
You mean font previews themselves in the list? You can set the size and disable via Type > Font Preview Size.

my ipod wont connect to itunes, i have re-installed itunes ...reset my ipod...re-boot my computer...basically i've done eveything i could but no joy it even shows on my computer but simply does not link in to my itunes. Please HELP !!!

I have just set up icloud and all my contacts are duplicated from Address Book! My new iPhone is also showing duplicate contacts even though they are not duplicated in my address book on my computer. Please can you help?
Also, what are the source of your contacts? are they created on the phone, or you synced from yahoo/hotmail etc.
If thats the case, the circular arrow wont be visible but instead show "groups"

Honestly i cannot remember sorry, i got it like 5 maybe 6 yrs ago and just started downloading things to it as the memory on the computer started filling up and when i wanted to see photos/videos on my TV.
My wife did tell me after i had written this post that she did try and record TV to it as it was plugged in. I think by doing so somehow has deleted everything. It reads on my TV yet has no files in it but won't show up on my computer. hope this helps.
Starting to think it is going to cost more to retrieve files on it than it will be to buy a newer and larger one.
