Document prints in what looks like Arabic - WHY!!!!!!

Our secretary has received an email from a known and secure business partner in a .pdf format. She was using Adobe Reader 8.0 to open it and visually it looked fine on the screen. When it prints in her HP Laserjet 2100, it looks like Arabic. Not really sure what it is, could just be garbled fonts. I had her email it to me and I opened and printed it using 6.0 and it worked fine. The attachment stated that she would need at least 7.0 or greater so I upgraded her system to 9.0 (with all updates) and it still won't work. So I decided to send it to another printer (HP5000 Laserjet) from her desk and still no luck. She is running windows XP, if that matters. I had her email it to another associate in the office and he could view and print it correctly as well. My best guess is that it is a setting locally on her computer, but I have no idea what it may be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The "print as image" option may help. If it does, look for updated
printer drivers.

Javascript is not working on some sites, and some sites also display in what looks like arabic. whats going on? how do i fix the javascript problem? javascript IS functioning in other browsers.

Site displays fine in IE but in Mozilla, displays in text only, with the message: "Billboard requires a JavaScript enabled browser to get the full experience." Getting similar messages on other sites. Also, some sites are displaying in part English, part what looks like Arabic to me. Whats that about? Havent played with any language settings- in the browser OR on my computer. The affected sites listed are both displaying in text only. The login page for Mozilla website is one of the sites i mentioned displaying in part (Arabic?)

Reload a web page and bypass the cache with:
* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
* Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

* "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Cconnect it to your computer with the latest version of iTunes installed.

Some pictures in I-Photo seem to be corrupted. When I click on them, the photo comes up for a second, then the picture turns black with a white fuzzy circle inside it and what looks like an explanation mark. Some older, some newer, no common thread.

time to time (when I have a chance), I will go to Finder, bring up ALL Images and start going through them to label them (before I put a label on them, they are simply listed as 123 jpg, 124 jpg etc.).
You're damaging the Library doing that, and that's the cause of your problem.
Never, ever, ever use the All Images search and work on items in yoyr iPhoto Library. They must only be accessed via the iPhoto window.
Restroe from abck up or try rebuild the Library:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

First, reboot. That will temporarily free up some space. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB free for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data.
Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To really see everything, you have to run it as root.
First, back up all data if you haven't already done so. No matter what happens, you should be able to restore your system to the state it was in at the time of that backup.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
After installing ODS in the Applications folder, drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. When you're done with it, quit it and also quit Terminal.

I would much rather have it go to my home page which is much more useful to me. I have tried to change this in 'Options' but with no luck. Please fix this.

After clicking on the update and download, I didn't notice the name of the webpage until it kept happening. Now I'm concerned it wasn't actually firefox and I've downloaded something I shouldn't have. This has not...so far....affected my actual firefox browser....I just don't see anywhere else on the mozilla/firefox website to find out.

I just encountered this same site, and am also wondering if it's a fraud site (I posted the same question, I'm afraid, to the support forums, a minute ago, because I didn't find your question before I posted, even though I did try to search; oh well).
As for you - after downloading the file, did you actually run it? If you downloaded the file, but then did not RUN the file, you are probably safe - generally, just downloading an infected file doesn't hurt your computer - it is usually required that you run it before it can hurt you. Just delete the downloaded file, and then I wouldn't worry too much about it, if you didn't run it.
If you did run it, you might want to think about formatting your PC's main hard drive, and then doing a clean re-install of the O.S. and applications.

I have what looks like a second dock and a second command-tab window?

In my house we've got two macs using the wi-fi, a Mac Pro late 2013 running Yosemite and a Mac Mini also running Yosemite. What's strange is sometimes I get what looks like a second dock with only one icon, Chrome (my default browser). The Chrome icon has a little circle with a monitor above it. When I command-tab, that same icon is in a second command-tab box, and it's there even when Chrome is closed. I can't figure out how to make these things go away. This is what the font turns it into (it's supposed to say Chrysler Building & New York Public Library). The font came with Pages which is what I'm working in. It worked before but isn't now.

That sounds a bit like an old video driver bug that was fixed a while ago, or the Windows cursor scaling bug (which is still around) - set the scaling back to 100%.

Outlook today shows what looks like empty inbox

I have been using 2007 for ever and rely heavily on outlook today. A few weeks ago I logged into my work/exchange account
and outlook today was gone and replaced with what looked like an empty inbox screen. After some research we figured out that the res://C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\1033\outlwvw.dll/outlook.htm was missing. I have made several attempts to add
it back, using Office 14 instead of Office 11 since we have now upgraded to Office 2010. I can paste the command line in but it does not stay when I click ok.
We also tried to upgrade to 2010 with the same result. Interesting I created a new folder in the navigator and called it today
and pasted the same address in and the outlook today shows up under that folder but will not allow me to save any changes such as folder selection. And if I click on this folder first the outlook today icon in the ribbon outlook today opens. But, as soon as
I click on another folder like inbox the outlook today folder goes back to looking like and empty in box.
Also to complicate things even more if I open in safe mode outlook today opens fine but will not allow me to save any changes.
I have disabled all add ins.

Can you post them in the outlook category for much faster response ..
