Document Properties versus Form Properties

Hello,
I was searching this forum and the knowledgebase to find an answer on how to populate the Document Properties visible in Acrobat/Reader 7 with the values from the Form Properties of a XFA form created with Designer 7.1. Unfortunately I was not able to find a sufficient answer. Is it possible to fill the Document Properties from within a XFA form? Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Any help is really appreciated. Thanks!
Kind regards, Karin

Hi,
As I discussed with my colleague on Office application, the Document property we can access from File tab is different from the DOCPROPERTY we can locate in Fields.
If you would like to add the "aaa" to document, we could add it manually.

  • Document Properties on Form

I've created a form in Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8 and can enter Form Properties from there but I need to be able to add Document Properties to post it on our website for accessibility. If I open it in Adobe Professional 8 where I add the properties to other pdf's, I am unable to edit the Document properties, they're all greyed out. Even the information I added in Form properties in Designer does not appear.
Any suggestions? or am I looking in the wrong place or missing a setting?
    Thanks for any help!

A file prepared in Designer cannot be further edited in Acrobat.

  • Form Properties vs. Document Properties

I've noticed that values entered in LiveCycle Designer's "form properties" do not get carried over to Adobe Reader's "document properties." How can I accomplish this?

Have you gotten any response on this yet? I have the same issues and I need the properties to be set!

  • MODE query, related to interactive form- properties.

    hi,
when i goto Interactive form -> properties-> mode....
there are three options in the dropdown....
    *update data in pdf
    *use pdf
    *generate pdf
can someone give me links to tutorials...etc
on how to use the three different modes effectively.

    -ag.

    Dear Amol
Depending on this property, your solution is react differently. An interactive form based pdf also contains the its template. Your WebDynpro has a context.  Depending on this setting the WebDynpro will use the existing pdf including its data or it will use the existing pdf and update its data with the data of the WebDynpro context or it will generate a totally new pdf document based on its template on the server.
In the help you can find some addition information about the use of this property in combination with the other properties of the Interactive Forms UI element.

  • Variable in form properties changed by script

How can one change the value of a variable in File>Form Properties>Variables by using script?

Ok, here's a little bit more information on the problem.
I looked at the XML for one of the Text fields with which I'm having trouble.   I found this for a font specification:
    <font use="#f2" typeface="Arial"/>
I commented that line out and replaced it with this:
    <font size="5.8pt" typeface="Times New Roman"/>
    and the field displayed properly.
My question is refned to this:  I set the typeface and size for the Text fields in the Font toolbar at the top of the screen. It's even set correctly if I display the Font paragraph.   I can't find anywhere else where typeface and size is set.  How and why are the typeface and size that I selected being overridden?

  • Document Upload depending on Properties

    HI all KM gurus,
I have created various document types and corresponding properties as described in "Advanced Concepts in Metadata Properties in KM " .
Now my requirement is to upload the document in to the folder depending upon selection of properties . ie if user selects value a1 for prop1 and b2 for prop2 then the document should be uploaded into \a1\b2\ folder.
So pls tell me how that can be possible.

    Hi Vinod,
I agree with Patricio that the taxonomy approach can help you achieve what you want without any implementation (as described in more detailed by Christopher).
Of course the drawback is that in the physical folder structure all files are saved in a flat hierarchy and it might lead to performance problems when working in the physical structure.
An alternative to implementing a UI Command would be to create a Repository Service. That should be much faster to implement (you should find enough coding examples here on SDN). Your repository service would react on the repository event of file creation and move the document in the appropriate folder depending on the meta data.
For more information about Repository Services and UI Command check Detlevs last answer in <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=80326">this thread</a>.
    Hope this helps,

  • How to open  business partner Properties selection form(OCQG table)

    Dear all ,
Is there any object for business partner Properties which are stored in OCQG table
    Can anybody tell me
how to open the properties selection form as incase of
Financials->Financial Reports->Accounting->G/l Accounts and Business Partners-> Click on Properties Button
I want to open this form  is there any way to do it
    Thank you
    Atul

    Hello Atul,
With the sbo sapbouicom object you can for example simulate a buttonclick.
I suggest that you use in your code:
ActivateMenuItem("13057") //(G/l Accounts and Business Partners)
and then you simulate a click on the property-item/button.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards Teun

  • Global Properties versus file under WEB

I have a situation where I am using a central MII server to use virtual xacute queries to retrieve data from a number of remote plants.  For some reason, the client does not want to use Global properties to set Remote site specific properties.  In order to use generic transactions, I now use a set of filesunder the WEB folder to contain the site specific data.  These files are text in nature, but I anticipate using xml files there in the future.
Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of using WEB folders versus Global Properties?
I already know that it requires more sequences and action blocks to load the information instead of just referring to the property, but are there other drawbacks?
What kind of performance hit will I take with this approach?
    Any thoughts?

I think you answered the question yourself
    The biggest question would be
    1. Maintainability (Maintaining Global properties as opposed to maintaining a file would definitely be easier)
    2. Accessibility.
From a performance point I don't think it'll be too big a overhead reading XML or text files but the above 2 reasons should win the argument for global properties.
Other than that if these remote calls are User/Role specific then you can explore Custom Attributes as well , which are global in nature and easily accessible.

Fnd the forms.jar file in the system. Make a note of the complete path For example if the forms.jar file is in C:\abcd\xyz\ , the path of this file is C:\abcd\xyz\forms.jar .
Open the server.xml file which you can find under C:\Sun\AppServer7\domains\domain1\server1\config and add the above PATH like this
    server-classpath="C:\abcd\xyz\forms.jar;C:/Sun/AppServer7/lib/appserv-rt.jar ......
-Restart the Application Server and run your application
    Hope this helps

  • Dynamic Interactive Form Properties

    Hi,
Im trying to create dynamic interactive form.
What are the Form Properties that I have to set to Preview Dynamic Interactive Form.
I have a radio buttons, when I select one, a related subform must display. Kindly guide me for the procedures to follow to implement.
    Regards
    Prasad

    Hello Prasad,
First of all: Are you creating the forms in the Netweaver Developer studio, or in the SAP-Gui?
Next: I am not really sure what your question is, what you want to achieve. I think you want to to display an interactive form instead of a normal PDF. If this is not the case, could you elaborate please?
If you are in the SAP gui: You can execute the function module which includes the Form. You'll have to give some parameters, and one of them is the structure <i>/1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS</i>. In this structure, you have the field <i>Fillable</i>. If you mark this field (eg. punt an 'X' to it), you'll have the interactive properties of the form enabled.
I don't have a NDS in the neigborhoud atm, you'll have to wait for that part.
    Good luck!<b></b>

    Hi ,
Curently i am using Live cycle Designer Version - 8.2 . I want to support Adobe Reader 4 or later version .but in the default tab under form properties target version drop down is from adobe reader 6.0. or later upto adobe reader 9.0. or later .
What should i do to support version 4.0 or later PDF .
    Thanks in Advance .

    Hi,
You can get the XFA specifications here: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/xml/index_arch.html
You will see that XFA Specification 2.0 was draft for Acrobat 6 and only became fully supported as XFA Specification 2.2 in Acrobat 7.
It relates to XML forms, which as far as I can see, did not exist in that format before XFA Specification 2.0.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • "View Properties" and "Edit Properties" extremely slow

    Hello,
I have a weird issue on a new Sharepoint 2013-installation. It's currently configured with one web application and one site collection. It uses some customization, but within "normal limits", mainly metadata- and search-related. The "core"
is one document library with around 30.000 items. The customization offers a GUI-filter-system where you can select through the metadata which kind of document you want to open, so there's never more than about 1000 documents in one view. In some views it's
    less than 10 documents.
Now, when I try to "View Properties" of a document, it takes the browser around 30 seconds to open the dialogbox. Same with "Edit Properties". Everything else (like version history) opens in the expected amount of time and everything
else on the system also works well regarding performance.
In the IIS-logs I can see that opening the DispForm.aspx of that item takes about 30 seconds. In the Sharepoint-Logs I can see that the Sharepoint works on the issue, but (what I have never seen before) between lines there are sometimes "pauses"
of 3 seconds, where the system just isn't doing anything.
CPU and RAM-utilization are normal and not spiking. The system is well equipped with CPU and RAM (more than 50% are unused during my tests).
My question is: Where is the bottleneck? Why is THIS operation taking so long and what can I do to analyze it? Anyone has any ideas?
    Many thanks, Aaron

    Hi Aaron,
For this issue, I recommend to use Network in F12 tool in Internet Explorer(IE) to capture the requests sent after clicking the View Properties and Edit Properties in the ribbon.
Check the requests and find which request takes much long time and then go the detailed view of that request to see what does that request need to load.
Sometimes, big pictures, JavaScript codes, etc may cause this issue.
Please also check if this issue only occurs with the view item form and edit item form.
    Thanks,
    Victoria

  • DTR workspace Basic properties and coustom properties

If i ritght click on workspace, a wizard will be opened with basic propeties and Coustom properties, even though i created workspacefolder, workspace why wizard shows empty  properties.
Actually in basic properties it should show
    1)creation date
    2)creator
    3)Name
    4) Object Id
C:\Documents and Settings\user\.dtr -> system file in filters i have included workspace path for both active and inactive
why Basic /coustom properties are empty?

    Hi RK,
The "Basic Properties" in this dialog refer to the properties maintained by the DTR Server. The "Custom Properties" refer to properties which can be set on a resource by a client (using API only, and not through UI).
The settings you are referring to (in the .dtr folder) are configuration information specific to this user - currently there is no support for viewing or maintaining this information from the DTR Client UI.
