Document title showing within bleed area

I have designed a postcard of images, when I pdf the artwork the file name appears within my 3mm bleed area, does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I obviously need the title to appear outside the bleed area. I have attached the file to let you see what I mean. Many thanks.

Thanks for your quick response. I followed the directions about the 2 preferences files. I renamed them and let InDesign restart. I know you won't believe this, but I exported the document again and still got the same result as before. Did I miss something? Don't mean to be a pain but very frustrating...

A properly made template will allow you to edit your child
page document
titles. The fact that you cannot means you have not used a
properly made
template. To see what I mean, do this -
Create a new page.
Use FILE | Save As Template..., and give it a name.
Look at the code - see the editable region around the
<title> tag? That's
what yours should look like.

MIRO (accounting document not showing)

Dear Guru's
When ever we save the miro transaction one miro document will generate and inside accounting document, profit center and controling document will generate. my problem is when we save the miro document bottom of that screen miro document will show. In my client place when we save miro document that time miro document no. and accounting document also showing within brackets like this - Invoice doucment 5170123 saved (accounting document 441234). but my issue is only a few login id's it is showing like this.
one login id it is not showing which is said above that login id it is showing only miro document (5170124).
pls suggest me how to over come this problem.

The parameter ID IVFIDISPLAY need to be added in the User Master Parameters tab using SU01 for other user or for slef user use SU3.
after maintaining the parameter, maintain the Parameter value as X
Run this parameter...its not provided in the scrap system...we need to run it...try to do this...
Even if it doen't works then check with the basis consultant...

Bleed area not showing in a PDF exported from InDesign

Hi,
I created a document in InDesign with a border that goes to the edge. To make sure that the border doesn't get cut off in printing, I added a bleed and brought the border to the bleed to insure against that happening. However, when I export the file to a PDF, it doesn't show the bleed, even if I ask to include crop marks or bleed marks. Is there anyway to make sure the bleed shows in the PDF?

please check if the setting in the printer are correct and if the mark and bleed are included when exporting the PDF .
Also what is the PDF option that you are choosing and steps to recreate the issue or a screen shot please .

Document titles within desktop folders blacked out

Does anyone know why my document titles within folders on my desktop are being blacked out? Please see attached for a screenshot.
I am running on a mid 2014 Macbook Pro 13" - Yosemite 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5 - 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3

We experienced this with out terminals using RDP to connect to a terminal server. Turned out the terminals couldn't produce the right resolution
and color depth for adobe to work right. Once the terminals were upgraded, worked fine.

In pdf, title in document properties showing "Untitled"

Hi,
I generated a pdf file using Adobe FrameMaker 11. After the pdf is generated, the title field in the Document Properties window (File > Properties) displays as "Untitled" instead of the original file name. How do i retain the same title name as the file name?

Hi,
To show the the title or the file name, you need to tell Acrobat what you want to show:
So:
In Acrobat, click File > Properties.
In the Document Properties window, select the Initial View tab.
Click on the Show list box, and select Document Title.
Click OK to close the Document Properties window.
Save the file.
Note: you can review/set the file title in the Description tab

HELP - Trim marks in bleed area won't print

Using Illustrator CS3 I have imposed an item 8up on the artboard with manually created trim and score lines within the bleed area. For some reason the lines will not print.
- I have checked the attributes and the lines have not been selected as non-printing items.
- I have created the lines with the line tool in registration colour and placed them 2mm away from the edge of the artboard.
- In the print setup I checked the page trim marks on.
- In the print setup I set the bleed to 5mm and when that did not show the manual trim lines I even tried 10mm.
- When the document prints the only trim marks that appear are the page size crop marks applied during print setup.
- The objects overlapping from the artboard into the bleed area print but the trim lines that do not touch the artboard won't print.
I have previously been using CS2 and this method has been working fine until I upgraded to CS3. Has anything changed? Why is this no longer working? Is there a preference somewhere that tells illustrator to not print items that don't touch the artboard?
Can someone please help as this is causing me lots of problems.

I do find your post helpful for printing illustration files placed in Indesign. However is there no solution to printing directly from illustrator apart from increasing the document size?
Is the bug only recent to CS3? I could print directly from Illustrator CS2 and the lines and bleed would print.
If I group all of the trim / score lines would they print then?
I don't understand why this has changed. How painful.

Acrobat Pro X Replaces Document Title with File Name

We process many Microsoft Word Documents into PDF. Whether or not this is the correct way to process them we use the new "Action" previously a Batch Process.
We require our documents to open "Full Width" so we run the created Action which converts the Word files to PDF and sets them to open width.
In the previous version of Acrobat (9) this worked fine. But the current version strips the document title out of the Word document and replaces it with the file name in the PDF. eg. If the title of the document set in the properties of world.doc is "Changing the world", when the action created the PDF its stripped and replaced with "world.doc"
This of course means that we must now take the time to change the title of each document so that the search engine on our intranet can correctly list it. As you can imagine a time consuming process, which until this update never had to be done.
Alternatively is there a better way to convert large numbers of Word documents to PDF that will keep all of this information intact?

Actions are not really intended for that type of work:
Actions allow a complex, guided series of events to be applied to a single file, usually with some user interactivity. They can be run over and over but usually only process one file at a time. In the example we show based on redaction, this guided interactivity is essential as only a human can decide what to redact in each document.
Batch processing applies a standard set of events to a series of files, usually without any user interactivity beyond selection and filename choices.

Indesign wrong Bleed Area in PDF

Hi,
I'm going to publish a book through a book-on-demand online service and I wanted some informations because I think there are problems with my Bleed Area in the PDF's exported from Indesign.
My book is about 190 pages in A4, so I set its dimensions to 210 mm x 297 mm, with a Bleed Area on each side of 3,175 mm as stated on the online website.
Since my background should extend on each side and I don't want white borders to appear on the page sides during the print, I extended the background to the bleed area, as the following picture (my facing pages master):
When I export my book I get a strange result. Basically some pages have the inner bleed, that should contain the background I extended, totally white. Others, instead, have the copy of a part of the beginning of the previous page. Like this picture:
This page is a new chapter, a new document of my indesign book. As you can see the bleed area on the left doesn't contains the background I extended but its white. Same happens with other pages, like the one of the chapter ending.
Next you find the image of a common page in my book, as you can see the bleed area is fulled with the beginning of the background of another page.
This is the PDF i get when exporting. I think something is wrong.
I really need a lot of help on this, since I put much efforts in this project I would like to understand what I'm doing wrong now!

Are you getting the white edge on every second page? Are you printing to Postscript and distilling, or printing direct to PDF, or Exporting the PFD?
Your exported PDF looks exactly as it should. On an inside bleed, the bleed area is the edge of the opposite page in the spread if one is present. I'm guessing you need the inside bleed for perfect binding, and you have two choices, in my opinion. First would be to split the spreads and extend the art into the bleed area (see InDesignSecrets » Blog Archive » Breaking Pages Apart to Bleed Off a Spine) and setting an inside bleed value. The other, probably easier, option for this document would be to set the inside bleed to 0, turn on layout adjustment, and then set the page width and inside margins wider by the amount of the inside bleed that you need. Add some manual crop marks, and a ruler guide to show you where the trim should really be.

Document Title field is empty in Dreamweaver

Suddenly ANY page (even old ones) i open in DW CS4 has an empty field in Document Title. Putting any text inside of it doesn't affect anything, however in Source Code and Page Properties there's a correct doc.title, and in the browser it shows as well.

Getting Safari document title/location via Scripting Bridge fails

I'm trying to get the URL and document title from the topmost Safari document/tab. I have an AppleScript and an objective-c version using the Scripting Bridge framework.
Both versions work fine for most web pages, however when I open a Youtube video in full-screen mode, the Scripting Bridge based version fails (error below). The Apple Script works fine for "normal" and full-screen Safari windows.
Can anyone see what is wrong with the Scripting Bridge code below to cause it to fail for full-screen Safari windows?

I could not find details about the given error code. It complains about 'currentTab' which shows that the JavaScript event at least made it all the way to Safari. I assume that the current tab receives the event, but refuses to run the JS code, because it is in full-screen mode. However, why does this work for an AppleScript? Don't they use the same code path eventually?

Not really, but your command isn't too complicated so it'd be quite doable using the AEBuild* functions/NSAppleEventDescriptor and AESendMessage. If you go the AEBuild* route, you can use AEDebug to sniff Apple events sent from AppleScript for clues - the AEPrint syntax is similar to that used by AEBuild* functions. Mostly it's just tedious; first learning to use the lower-level APIs, then writing the code for them.
2) Using NSAppleScript was actually my first approach, but having to compile each script before I run it seems a waste. Maybe I can try a pre-compiled script and hand in the JavaScript as a parameter.
That's the safe and efficient way to parameterize AppleScripts. Although unless you're doing this to support user-supplied scripts, by the time you've packed what you need into an NSAppleEventDescriptor, a bit more code and you could probably send it directly to Safari yourself.
3) I had tried ASTranslate in the past. I have not actually compiled the generated code, but seeing this makes me wonder about the difference between the Apple Script and Scripting Bridge.

Basically, Apple event IPC is RPC plus first-class queries, not OO as a lot of folks assume. AppleScript's OO-like syntax is a bit of a red herring, and the AS interpreter uses various tricks (e.g. implict gets) to further this illusion. So it looks and feels like OO, but only up to a point, and beyond that folks get totally confused when it does something decidedly un-OO. Hence AppleScript's reputation amongst professional programmers as being confusing and unpredictable. (It's actually reasonably straightforward and predictable one you know how it really works; it's just that figuring it out for yourself takes a lot of time and effort, since it's completely messed with your preconceptions by then. Ugh.)
Apple had an opportunity to learn their lessons from AS's approach, but whether due to politics, hubris or naivety they decided to dress up SB to look even more Cocoa-/OO-like. Which just means there's a bigger impedance mismatch between the SB API and the AE API hidden beneath the surface. So the abstractions are thicker and leakier, and the obfuscations more impenetrable when you do run into problems. By comparison, objc-appscript minimizes the syntactic sugar and wears much of Apple events' inherent weirdness on its sleeve. So while it takes a bit of getting used to if you're from an OO background, once you do get the hang of it it (nearly always) just works.

Document Title appears and then disappears

I have some xhtml transitional pages that are not displaying
their titles. When the page first loads the title pops up in the
browser, but then disappears. When I view the page information I
get "Untitled Document".
I have been trying to trace the various php includes and
javascript files that load, but their should not be anything that
special about them. Any ideas would really help.

Report Document not show on Crystal Report Viewer in C#

My program is modified from VB.NET. Now I struck with Crystal Report that Crystal Report Viewer didn't show Report Document.
Printing code is composed of two forms. One assign parameters and objects need. Other is Crystal Report Viewer form, CrystalReportForm. Last one run report by parameter from the first.
When run this code that it didn't found any error but the problem is no report show on Crystal Report Viewer on second form. It just blank Crystal Report Viewer. There arm't any message response.

It's not yet fixed. My dataset (ds) can't bine to DataGridView as
DataGridView1.DataSource = ds
But it could do like this
DataGridView1.DataSource = ds.Tables[0];
When I bine to Crystal Report Viewer setdatasource
CrystalReportViewer1.setdatasource = ds.Tables[0];
It still not work, anyway you suggest let me in the right way. I very confuse the thing I fix to bine to DataGridView

Music album cover images and track titles show on iPhone 4s but music doesn't play - any ideas?

I am a Young at Heart Senior, new to iPhone 4s, have an old creaking pc with Windows XP Home.....but plan to enter the real world any day soon by buying a new Mac!
Here is my problem, I purchased an album on iTunes and mistakenly started to sync it to my phone, (although I don't have iCloud loaded on my pc). I stopped it mid download and later noticed that the total track numbers were showing as a red number above the "more" button as if they were waiting to complete the download. It stayed there while I thought about it for a few days, but when I click the Album button all the tracks are listed.
Now to the funny part.....when I click on a track or indeed any of them, it doesn't play a sound...but the progress bar above moves as if "now playing".
So, I thought.... no problem, I would connect the phone up to iTunes and delete the tracks....but when I do so, this album and none of it's track titles show in my music list for the phone......weird.
So, I have a large album with titles only on my phone, no music behind the titles (which, incidentally, is rubbish anyway) and I can't get rid of it off my phone, any of you young whizzy iPhoners have any ideas how to clear it off???
I did think I might just Restore my phone, but wondered whether downloading all my stuff from iCloud would still include the dreaded "Now That's What I Call Christmas" album, which I only purchased in late 2011 to play at a seniors Xmas party...........you live and learn!
You will guess from my ramblings that I am not at all techy, but consider myself willing to learn and apart from this hiccup........I luuuurve my iPhone!

If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go
