Document type LPA in schedule agreement

any one can explain me document type LPA in schedule agreement. I read books as that is document type with release documentation. And what is the diff between LP and LPA?

Dear,
Please find below, which I found by search and posted by fellow collegues earlier....
Default quantity for goods receipt
In the standard system, the quantity open to date from the last- transmitted SA release is used in the case of scheduling agreements with release documentation (document type LPA). In the case of scheduling agreements without release documentation (document type LP), the open quantity to date is used.
Document Type of Scheduling Agreement
As a rule, the APO scheduling agreement in the SAP R/3 system is a scheduling agreement with the document type LP or a scheduling agreement without release documentation.
If you use scheduling agreements of the document type LPA without confirmation control key then no default quantities can be determined from the release upon goods receipt.
If you use scheduling agreements of the document type LPA with confirmation control key then the default quantities from the confirmation (shipping notification) are used.
As a rule, the OLTP scheduling agreement in the SAP R/3 System is a scheduling agreement with the document type LPA.
A scheduling agreement is a longer trem agreement with a vendor covering the supply of materials subject to predefined conditions. The conditions are valid for a pre defined period and a pre defined total purchase order quantity.
You can enter the Target value in the header data of the scheduling agreement. You can enter the Target quantity in the item overview for each item
You can use scheduling agreement with or without release documentation. The advantage of working with scheduliing agreement release documentation is that you always have a record of when you sent which delivery schedule information to your vendor, which you can display at any time.
Without release documentation(Document type LP)
The delivery schedule lines have official character-that is to say, they are transmitted to the vendor as they are saved in the system. The system does not document in detail releases aganist the scheduling agreement that have been sent to the vendor. Therefore,in the case of the document type without release documentation, the message control facility should be set up in such a way that a message is immediately sent to vendor if any changes are made to the delivey schedule stored in the system.
With release documnetation(Document type LPA)
If you use scheduling agreement with release documentation, the delivery schedule lines are not transmitted directly to the vendor.Intially ,the lines of the delivery schedule stored in the system for an LPA scheduling agreement for an internal information only.A message informing the vendor of your material requirements cannot be transmitted to the vendor until you explicitly create an SA release, that is forecast (FRC) or Just in Time(JIT) delivey schedule.Through this process, you can change the way schedule lines are represented. With release documentation, you can disply the SA releases(delivery schedules) transmitted to a vendor over a certain period of any time. This enables you to trace precisely when you sent which information to vendor.

  • Scheduling agreement with Consumption based planning

    Dear Experts,
    I Have a Scenario,

My Client requirement is 1) Plan and schedule the requirement
    2) Replenish the stock based on consumption based planning.
    My query is
    1) How should i proceed for mm based procurement ?
    2) Does i need to create scheduling agreement for rawmaterials and and maintain schedule lines ?
    3) For which materials i need to run the MRP ? weather its parent material or Component material ?
    4) What are the sequence of process need to be carried out ?
Required ur valuable inputs on this.

    Hi
Consumption based planning and Scheduling agreement are two different functions.
Consumption-based planning is based on past consumption values and uses the forecast or other statistical procedures to determine future requirements. The procedures in consumption-based planning do not refer to the master production schedule. That is, the net requirements calculation is not triggered either by planned independent requirements or dependent requirement. Instead, it is triggered when stock levels fall below a predefined reorder point or by forecast requirements calculated using past consumption values.
A form of outline purchase agreement under which materials are procured on predetermined dates within a certain time period.
With release documentation (in the standard system, document type LPA)
The schedule lines in the system have internal character. This means that you can change them in any way you wish. The schedule lines stored in the system are not transmitted to the vendor until you explicitly create a scheduling agreement release (which may take one of two forms: a forecast delivery schedule or a JIT delivery schedule).
The release documentation allows you to display the releases transmitted to a vendor over a certain period in order to establish exactly when you transmitted which information to the vendor.
Without release documentation (in the standard system, document type LP)
The schedule lines immediately have official character, i.e. they are immediately transmitted to the vendor the moment you save them (transmission time-spot 4 for messages). There is no release documentation in this case.
It cannot be explained in few lines. You need to study the below link.

  • Contract or scheduling agreement

    Hi friends,
    Given a scenario,
how can i decide , whether to use contract or scheduling Agreement.
after reading sap help, i am confused, it gave little difference between both.
Can some one please tell me on what factor or basis , i should decide on Contract or SA.
    Thanks.

    With regard to Outline Agreement:
    1. You can create the centrally contract (cross-plant) where you can maintain different pricing conditions for each and every plant
    2. You have to create the Release Order with reference to Outline Agreement.
    3. No detailed delivery schedule can be made in the Release Order.
    4. No Release documentation is created.
    5. Only time-dependent conditions can be created.
    6. Some Item Category 'M' and 'W' can be used.
    With regard to Scheduling Agreement:
    1. The Plant Location must be entered in the Scheduling Agreement.
    2. We do not have to create any other purchasing document except for delivery schedule line via Transaction ME38 or MRP running (with the appropriate setting of Source List).
    3. Delivery Schedule line items are created subject to your specific requirement.
    4. Can create both Scheduling Agreement with and without Release Documentation (subject to the Document Type LP or LPA) with the selection of either FRC or JIT delivery schedule.
    5. Either time-dependent or time-independent conditions can be created subject to the customizing in the Document Type of the Scheduling Agreement.
    6. Item Category 'M' and 'W' can not be used.
In Other Words Scheduling Agreement is Purely Time Framed. For Eg : Take Automobile Industry. Suppose there is a Requirement of 1000 Auto parts on Every month 1 day based on the Production. Then Using SA they can solve their Problem. A SA Should be created first and Later Delivery Schedule should be maintained in ME38. Based on the Schedule Lines Vendor will send the parts every Month. No Need to give any Release Order etc. It will Reduce the Paper work & Procurement Length.

  • Schedule agreement pricing

    Hi
Please explain the function of the Time dependent indicator in the Schedule agreement doc. type.
What is the effect of having and removing it for the  Schedule agreement.
    regards
    arvind

    Hi,
I would suggest you to check the note 456691.
Check the Customizing for the document type of the scheduling agreement
(Transaction OMED).A price determination only occurs during the creation
of the scheduling agreement if the 'time-dependent conditions' indicator
    is NOT set.
Conditions in the info record and contract are master conditions. The
difference between quotations and scheduling agreements is made by the
document type (indicator 'time-dependent conditions').Master conditions
are limited to a certain validity period, have master data status and
are rather valid on a long-term basis.
Master conditions, which refer to more general price agreements such as
vendor, material type, ... (general conditions, Transactions MEK*), can
    also be represented.
Generally conditions in purchase orders are document conditions. They are
only valid for this document.Document conditions are also available for
quotations and scheduling agreements if this is set in Customizing.

  • Schedule Agreement filed- lphis

    Hi
In the customizing for the document type for the scheduling agreement there is check box for Release documentation, which says that if it is activated then forecast schedule will be saved in a seperate file and displayed anytime.
This tick was activated in our client which prevented the goods receipt and system says 'no selectable item found'. When i removed the tick, the system allowed the goods receipt. We are using only standard schedule agreement with out forecast and jit schedules.
Could anybody inform me the significance of the field LPHIS. Does the activation of release documentation requires schedule agreement schedule lines to be printed before goods can be receipted.
    Regards
    Arvind

    Hello,
there are two kind of SA,  SA with and without release documentation.  if the field LPHIS is set  so you have SA with release documentation.
Now, if you are managing SA using SA with release documentation you have to perform the Scheduling agreement release process, otherwise all schedule lines remain  non official.
hereafter a descritpion of the Release process "source : the standard SAP document page 221
    http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/MMPUR/MMPUR.pdf"
    Scheduling Agreement Releases: Process
    Purpose
    A scheduling agreement release
enables you to record the current status of the lines of a delivery schedule stored in the system
for a scheduling agreement item and then transmit this status to the vendor.
    Process Flow
    1. Materials Planning generates delivery schedule lines for scheduling agreement items. You
can also create schedule lines manually.
    2. You create scheduling agreement (SA) releases (delivery schedules) comprising the
schedule lines for a certain scheduling agreement item. These are snapshots of the overall
delivery schedule stored in the system at given points in time.
In creating such releases, the system proceeds as follows:
    a. If a creation profile exists, it aggregates the release (i.e. scheduled) dates and quantities.
    b. It generates an SA release in accordance with the creation strategy and the entries on
the initial screen for SA release creation.
    c. If a creation profile exists, it determines any backlogs and immediate requirements.
    d. If a creation profile exists, it checks any applicable tolerances in the case of SA releases
created due to changes to the overall schedule in the system.
    3. The releases (delivery schedules) are transmitted as messages to the vendor.

  • Scheduling agreement receipt

Please explain me Scheduling agreement receipt process under HU managed warehouse.
This warehouse update WM first and then IM.
Please explain me the process till invoice verification. Document type user for scheduling agreement is LP.
I have created Scheduling agreement and schedule line.
What next. please explain me check point in each tcode.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

Whether it is scheduling agreement or a PO, the process remains the same. Once SA & Delivery schedule is created, on or after the scheduled receipt date as per the schedule line, you post a GR and then you can invoice it, using the same MIGO & MIRO transaciton. Since your inventory is HU managed and warehouse managed, you will create a HU while posting the receipt and then create a transfer order to move it to the relevant bin.

  • Scheduling Agreement with LPA

    Hi,
I am trying to generate schedule lines and release them to delivery schedules with doc type LPA.
I have done the settings in MRP2 view and done the settings in source list, info record and scheduling agreement.
I have created and Plnd Independent requirements in MD61 and executed the planning run in MD02 but unable to create schedule lines.
Could you please advise me if i am missing any settings or config's.
I wan to know how the zones work with LPA and how the whole cycle and the functions available with LPA.
    Responses will be highly appreciated.

    hi
These are the Prerequisites befor you go on to SA with release
Scheduling agreement releases (FRC and JIT schedules) can only be generated for scheduling agreements with release documentation (in the standard system, document type LPA).
(In the standard system, the Release docu. indicator is selected for document type LPA in Customizing for Purchasing under
Scheduling Agreement -> Define Document Types.)·
If you wish to work with JIT delivery schedules, the JIT schedule indicator must be set in the material master record (Purchasing or MRP 2 view) and the Additional data of the scheduling agreement item.
You create SA releases by means of the Purchasing menu via
    Scheduling agreement -> Create release
Choose release type ->FRC and JIT delivery schedulesSelect scheduling agreements - Specification of plant
Scope of selection- Changed or next date
Creation- According to strategy in profile, Tolerance check active
On the days on which the next FRC date (1st. Monday in the month) or the next JIT date (Monday each week) is reached, scheduling agreements with the above profile settings are selected and SA releases (delivery schedules to be issued to the vendor) created (because the next creation date has been reached).
    Reward points if useful

  • Scheduling agreement  does not get updated (though in valid period)

    Hi,
Once I change the setting of document type LPA from Time dependent conditiopns to Time independent conditions,
how can I convert existing scheduling agreements that have been already created to time independent settings?
    Is it posible?
    Regards,
    Ajinkya

If the agreement is open without any transaction, you can change the same using Carry out new pricing (B).
Logically speaking agreement should be made in consent with the vendor agreed terms. It should not be changed in the mean course.

    sapman

    HI Sapman
SA Document type LPA means " SA with release documentation". When you are using this type the delivery schedule lines are not transmitted directly to vendors. when you create delivery schedule for SA the same will be stored in system and can be used only for internal use.
So the message informing your requirment will not be transmitted to vendor until you create a SA release. If you want to have a SA without release doc then you must maintain SA doc type LP.
    cheers

    Hi,
First Define Time Dependent or Not Depenedent  via
In the case of scheduling agreements and quotations, the document type determines whether time-dependent or time-independent conditions can be created. You can set the Time-Dependent Conditions indicator in Customizing for the document type to enable time-dependent conditions to be maintained in scheduling agreements and quotations.
Define time-dependency in scheduling agreements and quotations:
SAP Customizing Implementation Guideu2192Materials Managementu2192Purchasing u2192 RFQ/Quotation or Scheduling Agreement u2192 Define Document Types
    and document type is
Define document types for scheduling agreement:
SAP Customizing Implementation Guideu2192Materials Managementu2192Purchasing u2192 Scheduling Agreement u2192 Define Document Types
For release u can create Release profile
    Create release creation profile:
SAP Customizing Implementation Guideu2192Materials Managementu2192Purchasing u2192 Scheduling Agreement u2192 Maint. Rel. Creation Profile for Sched. Agmt w. Rel. Docu.
You can use release creation profiles to define the criteria for the creation of SA releases (you can influence the quantities and delivery dates/times to be transmitted to the vendor, for example).
Whether or not you can generate both forecast and JIT delivery schedules against a scheduling agreement with release documentation is determined by the JIT delivery schedule indicator in the material master record. In order for you to be
able to work with JIT schedules, the JIT delivery schedule indicator must be set in the material master record (Purchasing or MRP 2 view) and in the additional data for the scheduling agreement item. No JIT delivery schedules can be created unless this indicator has been set.
    Hope Help U !
