Documentation of the *.daq-File in MAX

Is there any possibility to generate documentation of the current MAX-configuration?
Or can I export the current MAX-configuration to any file-format, eg a txt-File?
Thanks.

Hello;
I don't know exactly what you need to achieve on your application, but, at this point, there is no way to read the .daq files or convert that type of files to any txt file format. What you can do is to have Labview changing the config file for you.
I'm attaching a LV example VI which does that, just in case you need it.
Hope this helps.

  • Want to convert the .DAQ file from MAX to a text file to be included with data runs for experiments.

I want to take the .DAQ file from the MAX program and convert it to a text file. From my understanding this file contains all the information for the channels and hardware that is currently set up on the system. I want to use this data as a file so that others can set up the experiment again in the future and this data would be helpful. Thanks in advance for any help in regard to this matter.

    HAL;
I'm attaching a Labview example to this answer which does that with the properties of your virtual channels configuration in MAX. Other than that, there isn't any way, at this time, to convert the .daq file to a text file.
    Hope this helps.

  • Where can I get detailed documentation on the 'IVA' vision vi's created by NI Vision Assistant

I use the NI Vision Assistant a lot.  Usually I ask it to create a vi automatically from the script.  However, the resulting vi contains several 'IVA' vi's that are completely undocumented (from what I can see).
Where can I get more info on these?  Examples of these are  IVA Grayfilters - Nth order.vi and IVA Store Particles Results.vi (two of many such vi's) .  They look like very useful and interesting functions but what exactly they do I can only guess.
Any ideas where I can get information on these functions.

I really appreciate your offer to help, however, it would probably be better for me in the long run if I could get this info from the official help on these functions?
But as an example, currently I am wondering what does IVA store particle results.vi do?  It is called after IMAQ particle analysis.vi but just seems to be wasting precious processor resources.  When do I need to include this (as is done by default by vision assistant) and when can I cut it out?  It must have some purpose but who knows what this might be?
    Thanks.

  • Where is the documentation on the VI Server ActiveX meathods and properties?

I'm not interested in _what_ the Vi Server can do, but rather the _DETAILS_ on how to do it. IE, whats the VI Server's program ID, what meathods take what arguments, and what are _ALL_ the properties?

This still does not tell me what the ActiveX Program ID is. In addition, two sentences of description per meathod and property does not constitute documentation, rather an overview.
Where is the National Instruments document that details the entire server, one place?
I should clarify that I'm not using the VI server from LabVIEW, or any other language the examples pamper to. Visual Basic/C & Delphi are not the only languages out there.

  • Where is the iak file defined in the project?

I made changes to the *.iak file in MAX including the file name and now there are yellow bangs on the RT target and its subfolders in Project Explorer.  (The RT taget is a cFP-2110)  What is the best way to resolve this?
    Dave J.

    Dave,
I lifted this out of the Fieldpoint help.  Suggest you make a backup of project before you try anything.
Importing FieldPoint Configuration Files into LabVIEW Projects
If you already have a FieldPoint system or systems configured in MAX, you can import your .iak configuration file to a new project in LabVIEW. Complete the following steps:
Right-click the project name in the configuration tree and select Import»FieldPoint Configuration.
Browse to the location of the .iak file, select it, and click Open.
When you import a configuration file, LabVIEW makes a copy of the file for the project and automatically saves the file when you change the project. The original configuration file remains unchanged.

  • How can I include multiple limits in the sequence file documentation for custom step type?

    Hi,
I have a custom Step Type that contains Measurements property under Results. Its type is Array of NI_LimitMeasurement.
I would like to see the values in the sequence file documentation like NI_MultipleNumericLimitTest type.
Is there any trick to do that?
    Thanks,
    Andras

    Hi Andras,
I have made  a slight change to the sequencefile 'docgen_txt.seq'.
In the Sequence 'Step Doc' is a section which handles MultipleNumericLimit step type. There is a precondition check on the step 'Add Multiple Numeric Limits' if the step is of type 'NI_MultipleNumericLimit'. As your step type is based on the MultipleNumeric Limit type, I have just removed this precondition and just relied on the existence of Parameters.Step.Result.Measurement. Equally you could add a new section in this sequence to handle your Custom Step Type which is only called when the precodition match your type name.
Now when you run the DocGen tool it handles your custom step type.
Find attached my modified sequencefile 'docgen_txt.seq'.
Just copy the contents of '..\National Instruments\TestStand 3.5\Components\NI\Tools\DocGen' to the User folder. Then place the attached file in the User\Tools\DocGen overwritting the version that is in that folder.
Then launch TestStand and try it out on your sequence file.
If you are using the html version, then you will have to make the same change into Step Doc sequence of the docgen_html sequence file.
    Hope this helps

  • How do I include all the necessary files required for the DAQ Assistant to create an executable file?

I am creating an executable file to run on a computer that does not have LabVIEW installed.  The problem is that I am using the DAQ Assistant.  The VI Hierarchy is rather large, and I am not sure how to include all of the required files to eliminate the error "The full development version of LabVIEw is required to fix the errors."  Attached is an image of the VI Hierarchy.

Yes I did create an installer.  See image installernoDAQmx.jpg
When this is all I do I get an error that subvi is not included, a list of about 6 subvi's.  To eliminate this error I manually add the subvi from the dependencies list to the my computer list. This allows me to add them as support files.  This eliminates the error about subvi not included, but then I get the error I spoke of earlier.
If I include the DAQmx I get an error.  See image installererror.jpg
Not sure what MAX refers to?

  • How to set  max-heap-size outside the jnlp file?

Due to bug_id=6631056 It may not be possible to specify max-heap-size within
the JNLP file for certain jnlp java applications.
Are there other possibilities to specify this Jvm parameter?
In the ControlPanel there is the possibility to specify Xmx for applets but not for jnlp.
I have tried to add properties like
    "deployment.javaws.jre.0.args=Xmx\=128M" without success
    Many thanks

Even in JNLP also you can specify the max heap size
    <j2se version="1.5+" initial-heap-size="128m" max-heap-size="512m"/>
    Thanks,

  • I want to run my program with continuous aquisition and write data to file when a button is pressed and get the most recent samples from the DAQ board.

This is an update to a question I asked earlier. I am still trying to solve the problem. I have included a zip file with a library file. The file to open in pj_pushbutton.vi. I have placed comments explaining the issues and problems in this vi and the subvi's.
When I push my button to write the data to file I think it is writing the data that has already been stored in the buffer and writing to file all at once. I want the data that is taken from the DAQ board from the time that I press the Write File button. How do I do this?

    Hi,
    1. In AI read, you need to set the Read/Search option to "Relative to End of Data".
    2. Next you should not start AI Read VI until you press the Write to File. I am attaching an example VI below. Please see if it helps.

  • How to play a wave file through the DAQ board?

    Hi there,
we want to play a wave file that is saved on the harddrive via the DAQ board. Means we want to connect a amp to the analog output of the DAQ to amplify the sound and play it through a speaker.
We couldn't find any VI that does that. Can anybody tell us how to play a wave file, or perhaps even send us a VI that can do that?
Thanks a lot for your help
    Martin - Physical Optics Corporation

    Hi Martin,
The only example that I could find on how to do this was using our
older Traditional DAQ drivers version 6.9.3.  If you're using Traditional
DAQ drivers, the vi can be found here.
The example reads a 8-bit mono .wav file (an example .wav file is included in the .zip file) and writes it to the analog out of your DAQ card.  I've updated the
example to work with our newer DAQmx drivers and attached it here.
    I hope this helps,
    Paul C.

  • Finding the setup files for the help utility favorites menu and MAX configuration

I have LabVIEW 2011 installed on my laptop, or it might be more accurate to say that I did have it installed until my computer crashed a few days ago and I am now trying to restore my information back into a new computer with a complete new install!  So, one of the things that I would like to do is to find the file that contains the "favorites" information in the help menu so that I can copy the file into the correct place so that the newly installed LabVIEW will populate the help file utility with the previous listing of the favorites in the help utility. Does anyone know where this file is installed and what it's name is? Also, it would seem that there is another file which I would sure know about for the configuration af the devices and tasks that were setup in MAX. So, does anyone know where this file is located so that I can have MAX configured the same as I originally had configured before my computer crashed?

    Hi Cuthbert,
To be able to recover your MAX configuration you should try to follow the process of removing MAX Database Corruption.
You can look for the path where the folders are in the computer that crashed and then copy those to the new computer.

  • Max # of rejected records in the UJFS file?

I am loading transactional data via the LoadInfoProvider standard DM package.
According to the package log, it tries to load 4,910,004 records.  It rejects 780,639 of them.
When I download the rejected records file from UJFS, it only has 100,001 records.  I've tried this a couple times and same result.  Always a cap of 100,001 rejected records in the file.
Anyone knowif there's a parameter I can modify to have all rejected records in the log or am I hitting a system limit?
    Thanks.
    -Amy

    Hi All,
I am trying to find a solution referring to some of old threads. While doing the transactional data loads,is there any way to make BPC accept all the records without validating for duplicate records.
We have tried Validate Records set to 'No' in transformation file and Max Reject count to 0. Still the duplicate records are getting rejected.
As we are doing data loads from a transactional system flat file, there are lot of records where all the fields are common for some records including amount. i.e. a similar sale for same quantity and product happened during the same period. How to address this?
Should n't the cube be aggregating for similar records? Your thoughts please.
    Thanks,
    Santosh

  • How can I access SCXI gain settings from the niconfig.daq file using Labview 6.1?

I'm using NT, Labview 5.0 and NI-DAQI 6.8.1. also LV 6.1 w/NI-DAQ 6.9.2 and would like labview to determine the current SCXI gain settings. How can I parcel the ni-config.daq file into text?

    Hi,
niconfig.daq is a binary configuration file and cannot be parced into a text file; the format of the data stored in it is not available.

pdf file is too big (7MB). Need a pdf file with max size 4MB. How to minimize the size of a pdf file?

The other alternative is the Save As Other>Reduce File Size. The PDF Optimizer gives you more control. You might also use the audit feature in the PDF Optimizer to see where the size problem is coming from. You might find that in the WORD file you can select and image and then go to the FORMAT (pictures) menu and select compress for all of the bitmaps in the file. That will typically use 150 dpi by default that is adequate for most needs.
