Blueprint Application Builder Error.

Dear Gurus,
I went to CRMC_BLUEPRINT transaction code and selected the BluePrint Application Builder. BAB got launched in Internet Explorer. When I select the Application as "Leads" and View as "Lead Manager" and click on "Load Application" I get a java script message saying "SAP data could not be maintained in the customer system". I get this message for any selection of Application and View. Can you pls advice me.

Vivek, get me your email address and will forward you the CRM PC-UI 4.0 Cookbook and I would recommend you to go through the examples and the end of the documentation to get a feel of the concept and how to tackle your questions. Also read the conceptual piece of the blueprint tables and their possibilities. If you have any questions just let us here now and help you gladly. Tiest.

Missing Buttons in Blueprint Application Builder

Hi,
I am using Blueprint Application Builder to customize the iViews for SAP CRM Business Package.
When BAB is launched, I can only see Application and View dropdown list and the Load Application button. That is all, no other buttons for me to save or launch Designer. What could be wrong?? I have already activated service CRM_BSP_BAB_DSS and CRM_BSP_BAB_DIS.
After selecting a Application and iVew, I click on the Load Application. The preview of the iView appears but no other buttons can be seen on the left panel except Load Application.
Any clue??
Does anyone know where can I download the BAB and CRM Designer documentation?

Blueprint Application Builder

Hi,
I have a Z_* Transaction for which i need to develop a blueprint application. I understood it should be done in CMRC_BLUEPRINT_C, where customer developments are allowed. The steps which i did are,
Created DDIC structures,
Created model access class, and assigned the interface,
created application set and assigned the modelclass,
created fieldgroups,
created relevant fieldgroup structures,
created the application and assigned the application set,
Defined the layout, (only INIT event),
But when i call this application frm the BAB, it shows me page cannot be displayed.
Even i checked the consistency, but i didnt get any errors. But when i try to generate a layout, it shows me fieldgroup doesnt exists in blueprint table..
Can anyone please correct where am wrong.

Hi,
You have to config your fieldgroups as following:
ZEX_EXAMPLE1_SREQ
ZEX_KVIEW Field 1 Rest of screen parameters
ZEX_KVIEW Field 2 Rest of screen parameters
ZEX_KVIEW Field N Rest of screen parameters
Where, Field 1 to Field N belong to the ZEX_EXAMPLE1_SREQ screen strcuture.
The same configuration with the other filedgroup.
Then you will have to regenerate the following combinations:
ZEX_KVIEW+ZEX_EXAMPLE1_SREQ (uncheck the checkboxes)
and
ZEX_KVIEW+ZEX_EXAMPLE1_SRES (uncheck the checkboxes)
The system will prompt you a transport task
This is the correct procedure. If error persists will be probably an error with the fields (maybe these fields don't belong to the screen structure or something like that...)

One topic is, whether there is a tool which helps to generate a first User-Documentation for Java-GUI-Applications. Does anybody whether there
exists such a tool for Eclipse or maybe a plugin.

Working with Blueprint Application Builder

Dear BSP Guru's
I want to play with BAB and create my own queries which can be used by all the Portal Users. I want to add A field Status in Advanced search where it would be able to select 2 statuses instead of just 1. How would I go abt?

Any news on workarounds or fixes for Application Builder?

Anyone knows of fixes for the Application Builder? I have LV 8.2 and am trying to remove things like scrollbars and abort button out of my exe. No matter what you do in the VI Settings, they show up. I know there was a workaround to stop the VI from running at startup up, but that was the one thing I needed not to do. LV 8.0 app. builder works fine, but I did this new VI in 8.2 and it does not to seem to be backwards compatible. So I need to get 8.2 working. Thanks Guys

Hello Gerald,
This problem was reported to the National Instruments R&D
deppartment and it was fixed on the next version. A workaround if you
don't have LabVIEW 8.2.1 is to use VI properties to change the window
appearance of the top vi before you build your executable. Right-click the VI icon on the front panel or block diagram and select VI Properties from the shortcut menu or select File»VI Properties» Window Appearance from the Category pull-down menu to display this page. Dialog style windows stay on top, have no menu
bar, scroll bars, or toolbar, allow the user to close the window but
not resize it, allow run-time shortcut menus, and show the front panel
when called. Please let me know if this works for you.

Application builder priority

When I run the application builder, to build my labview program into an exe, it pretty much takes up 100% of the usage of my computer. Since it takes about 10 minutes to compile that's down time for me. Is there any setting, within labview, that I can make that would reduce the priority a bit for the application builder so that it can run in the background while still allowing me to work effectively on my computer?

I've created a "Help" link. clicking on it displays a popup Help_Window. I want to display paragraph of Text in this Help_Window.
Is there any element available where i can enter a paragraph of text ?
( my goal is to create documentation for the application. just like we do documentation for se38 programs )

Solution :
1. Create MIME to import the help.PDF file which contains documentation to your application
2. In Help_View i have included the element INTERACTIVE_FORM.
3. In method WDDOINIT of HELP_VIEW i have included the following code to call the help.pdf file
data:
    mime_repository type ref to if_mr_api,
    content type xstring,
    url type string value '/SAP/BC/WebDynpro/SAP/WDR_TEST_ADOBE_PDF_ONLY/test.pdf'.
mime_repository = cl_mime_repository_api=>get_api( ).
call method mime_repository->get
    exporting
      i_url = url
    importing
      e_content = content.
wd_context->set_attribute( name = 'PDF' value = content ).
4. on clicking the help link from my main window i'm calling the HELP_VIEW as a popup window. in this window it displays the help.pdf file which give the documentation about the application.

Are there any advanced user manual for Application Builder?

Hi,
I want to find Application Builder user manual that can teach me how to set the Install Settings. For example, I want to know what libraries will be included in the installer if I enable Serial Port Support and Port I/O Support. What's the function of Enable ActiveX server in Application Settings? The Application Builder user guide I found which is a 8 pages installation guide with release note. I hope some NI engineers can answer this question. Thanks.

For information about specific options in the Application Builder, click the Help button in the Build Application or Shared Library dialog box. In the Advanced Installer Settings dialog box, you also can click the Help button to display a topic with information about each option in the dialog box. Here are the descriptions of the two support options you mentioned:
Serial Port Support -- Installs the serial portion of NI-VISA needed for applications that access serial instruments or serial port.
Port I/O Support -- Installs the necessary support files for accessing parallel ports and for using the In Port and Out Port VIs.
The description of the "Enable ActiveX server" checkbox is: "Enables the ActiveX server for the application so it c
an respond to requests from ActiveX clients."
These descriptions also have links to more information about the objects mentioned, such as the In Port and Out Port VIs and the ActiveX server.

Documentation for Online Store or any other Apex application?

I'm trying to understand Apex "Online Store" sample Packaged Application
dowloaded from

After having spent several days trying to "decode" this Application,
with some moderate success,
I decided to ask if there is some documentation/explanation of this Application,
or alternatively if you could point me
to some other well documented and explained Apex Application,
preferably with "online store" features.
I'm a newcomer to Apex, PL/SQL, and the rest of Oracle culture.
I've studied manuals and tutorials such as

Yes, I did (turning off and then on again is a way of life for any windows user!). Actually, through a process of trial and error I have fixed the problem although I'm not very comfortable with the fix. For some reason, the OS X firewall is to blame. By relaxing the firewall settings to their most lenient, the iTunes store is now fully accessible via iTunes, and so is the whole of the apple website. Another added side effect has been that general web browsing is now lightning fast.
I'm therefore left with the (temporary) conclusion that my iMac's internal firewall is only capable of blocking access to the web resources of the people who created it, and slowing my web browser to a crawl.

I have a application build in labview 8.5 for Windows XP using NI Visa functions to interact with hardware , how to make is work in Windows 7 32 bit and Win 7 64 bit

I have a application build in Labview 8.5 which wroks fine with Windows XP , this program uses basic read /write functions of NI Visa to communicate with Hardware . This application doesnt work with Windows 7 32 bit/64 and Vista . What changes i need to do to make it work for the said operating system

You need to make sure the machine have the corresponding NI-VISA installed. Check in the NI software pages for the right version.
Also make sure that the com port's can be selected when you first start the application. Eg. if you refer to VISA "COM1" on the XP machine It might be "COM2" on the Win7 machine.

For PDF Printing in Application Builder 3.0.1

Hi,
Recently upgraded to Application Builder 3.0.1.00.08
I've created a report, which i want to open as a pdf. I downloaded
bipublisher_windows_x86_101332_disk1 zip file and installed as per the
link mentioned under.

But while checking with from start menu and selected BI Publisher
server from the windows, the login screen is not appearing. where to
check.

That's because report queries are rendered by a different engine than report regions. In report regions we escape correctly, and for report queries, we escape % with %25; - so we'll have to remove the semicolon.

Application builder supporting dlls for nidaq and nidmm

I was use application builder to create installations. I don't want to include the huge installs for nidaq and nidmm. Is there a list of the dlls required that I can put as supporting files in the application builder.

I spoke with another one of our other Applications Engineers who spoke with either yourself or another person with the same question on the phone today. He indicated that there is no smaller set of DLLs to use as drivers for this code, and that the solution reached on the phone was to make the drivers available on a central server so that they didn't have to be distributed directly with the application. People could just install them from the server instead.
If this is not an option, the full install files for the NI-DAQ and NI-DMM drivers would have to be included with the built appliction and installed by the end user. Or perhaps instructions could be included with the application about where to download the drivers from the NI website (www.ni.com/downloads).
