There is no direct Tcode to Query Designer / Report Designer .. You need to go Start -- Programs -- Bex
You can use Tcode RRMX to reach Query Analyzer.

Need Documentation for report RCNCT001

I have to execute report program "RCNCT001' to regenerate the structure in some Project system report to add the custom fields.
SAP suggest to refer the documentation for this report to step-by-step guide. But i could not find the documentation anywhere. Also, when i run this report to regenerate structure, it is asking for the access key for object : R3TR PROG RCNSTRUCR.
Has anyone used this report before? Can any one please provide me the documentation for this report?

Hi,
I had the same problem regarding executing the report RCNCT001 but I have found a way out which has worked out for me. Here are the steps carried out by me.
Select the Structure that you want to Enahnce by Clicking on PS Info System Structures. I had an requirement to enhance WBS Element so I selected WBS Element Radio Button.
Click on Execute.
The Program will ask for Access Key.Hit Display on the Access Key Entry Screen.
The progarm gives a warning.
Hit Enter.
The Program will AGAIN ask for Access Key.Hit Display on the Access Key Entry Screen.
The program then gives 3 warning message.Hit Enter on all Warning Messages.
Now you get a list of all the Fileds from the structure you want to enhance to be included in PS Information System.In my case it is PRSP. Here you can see all the standard Fields along with your Custom Fields.
Click on save.It will prompt for a request.
Assign a request and you are done.
Now if you run CN43N you will be able to choose your fileds in the Change Layout Button on the report output Screen.

Unable to Drill Down for Report Designer

hellooo...I created a report using a query in Report Designer. My query is having a structure in the row and I'm using this query for the report in Report Designer. After I created this report in Report Designer, I assign this report in Web Application Designer and create a navigation pane to link this report for the drill down function. But I have problem on drill down this report in the web template when i click on this navigation pane for the free char i defined. Eg: when i drill down for the char in the free char under the navigation pane item, I cannot perform the drill down horizontally but can perform drill down vertically. After perform drill down, I don't see the values from that char being displayed in the reports. Just wondering report in report designer cannot have any drill down function? or is my query problem due to the structure i defined? thanks alotttt...

The report designer needs a fixed Column definition ( structures)
In case of drill across this requirement is not fullfilled.
This is not changable and is due to design, sorry.
so you can only drill down.

Documentation for Reports Chart

Using 10gAS R1 (9.0.4.2) Reports and Forms. Is there any documentation for the Chart functionality in Reports? Such things as how to do a stacked bar chart and hyperlink to a detail based on the x-axis value of the individual bar? Or explanation of the Chart object's XML? Can't seem to find any good resource for the Chart functionality anywhere. May be overlooking, but... Thanks, John

Documentation for reporting and printing

Hi to all dear sap experts.
I need a little information...
We have SAP Business One 9.0 PL 08. In SAP Help we have a link to URL http://service.sap.com/smb/sbocustomer/documentation.
Opening this URL, we are redirect to https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/smb/sbocustomer/documentation where, after login, we can see the documentation about sap business one 8.0 and 9.0 release.
But there is nothing about PLD PRINT LAYOUT and CRYSTAL REPORT.
Can you suggest me a correct link from where a can download the documentation for these 2 software ?
I would like to understand more about PLD and ("maybe") try to create a layout for eg. Invoice with crystal report..

There is a documentation for both PLD and crystal report for 8.8 version.
Under documentation ---> Choose release family 8.8--->Select how to guides for 8.8 & 8.1 (top right corner)---> List of guides will appear.

We don't have any Transaction Codes for these.
Since these are installed along with the SAPLOGON BI components, it cannot be called using a standard transaction.
You have to use only .
Goto Start -> Programs -> Business Explorer -> Web Application Designer/Report Designer/Query Designer.

How to create template for Report Designer

I have to create 20 reports in report Designer and each one of them have same header, footer and column fields.
Is there any way i can create a Report Template which can be used in each report?

Aslo by the i guess you mean WAD so Can you explain how to switch dynamically..and how to fit already built report in the web template? because coloum width in template and column width in report doesnt match so i was wondering how will they fit each other. Please explain

How to save landscape print layout for report designed in SQL Server 2005

How to save page setup for a report wich was designed in SQL Server 2005 RS? Each time report is previewed, I have to change portrate to landscape orientation and left and right marging from 0,5 to 0,25, to be able to see all fieldas on the report.

Which version of Crystal Reports are you using? Once you set a report to Landscape, and save the report, it should stay that way, unless you change to a different printer.

Any 3rd party solutions for reports management?

We have a small IT team, trying to manage a lot of reports. We have 3 people that create reports. Right now there are about 400 reports that are actively being used. The problem is that up until now we have not had documented standards for report design and no documentation on the reports that have been created. I am new to the company and am trying to get the reports under control. I'm a relative newbie when it comes to Crystal.
We really have several issues. The 2 most critical are:
gathering documenation on what views, tables, etc. are used in our reports (any way to do that without going into each report, one by one?)
Standardizing the look and feel of each report.
I have been able to put in a report counter which updates a record in our database everytime the report is run so I can target the more important reports, as well as finding reports which are not utilized.
Any ideas? The first idea I had, was to hire someone to solely focus on reporting issues, but that's nto going to happen.

One option that quite a few of our customers use is a tool called Source Safe. It's the control program that comes with Microsoft Visual Studio. It allows you to check in and out code and manage changes. It can also be used for files like Reports.
Check Microsoft's site for more info on how to and what it can do...
Others may have suggestions also.

I am trying to open a query in report designer tool in new GUI. but it showing following error.
"Query(view)definition cannot be retrieved from portal.
please try again or check query and portal setup"
"Exception in method process function"
I am not able to work with any of the queries for report designing.

Make sure the BEX Web set up for the JAVA stack is done as per oss note 917950.
The Report Designer require the Portal runtime on the JAVA Stack.
