Documentation tab of a transport request or a task

Does anyone know what table the documentation that you enter as part of a transport request or a task is stored?

Please check table E070 & E071 tables or view V_E071
Field AS4TEXT should hold the documentation for TRs.

Hi.
Next to the options already mentioned you can also try transaction SE03.
Select: Search for objects in Requests/Tasks.
Next, fill an empty line with the objectnumber you want to search (don't forget the checkbox).
For workflow tasks use the object type PDTS, for workflow templates use PDWS.

Transport request: Reallocation of task contents

is it possible to reallocate some contents of a task to another transport request?

Hi Tobias,
We can merge the task of one request to other request using tcode se03.
But the content of task will also remain in existing request.
You can follow the below step :-
1. goto tcode :- se03.
2. Double click on merge object lists
3. in the input field of REQUEST/TASK insert your task no :- e.g <SID >K900334
4. Click on = symbol which is next to REQUEST TYPE.
5. You will get new windows , in which uncheck all the tab and on tab TASK in same window click on Development/correcion if you changes in request is Workbench or click on Customizing Task if you changes is customizing.
6. Then click on continue
7. Then also check all tab which is present under tab REQUEST STATUS.
8. Then click F8
9. On the new screen click on merge.
10. it will prompt for new request , where click on new request tab.
11. you will get new window on new window, select weokbench request if your request is workbench or select trsnport of copies if you request is customizing
12. click on continue & again click on continue, where it will ask for request discprition , give the neccesary input adn click on exectue.
13. you new request created.
14. confirm the contain of new request with old request & if requried delet the task the from old request.

Transport Request Documentation

When any object developed in Development system then it ask for transport request which come in pop-up window. After creating transport request is it any way to make documentation mandatory for the transport request.
For Ex. when we release a task it display text editor where we can maintain documentation. Also we can maintain documentation for transport request in transport request tool. But i like make mandatory to maintain documentation about the transport request while creating transport request it self.
Is it any way to do this??

I dont think you can make it mandatory. The only alternative is to ask the team to follow it religiously and the team lead needs to review the same before releasing the transport.

Importing Transport Request In GP

Hi All,
In GP , I want to export a trasport request and then import it . I successfully executed the trasport request and created a <b>.sda file</b> like this. GP Application tab -> Trasport -> Create Transport Request. The .sda file is stored in local system. When I try to Import it using Import Trasport Request, I am getting one warning like <b>"No endpoint alias has been maintained; create an endpoint alias first "</b> .
Please provide me some information on how solve this issue.

ChaRM: link between ChaRM message and Transport Request

We use the action 'Release Transport Requests' in the task list of the
Maintenance Cycle to release all assigned Transport Requests. In the
pop-up window that appears we see all Transport Request numbers and the
transport description.
Is there a possibility to add an extra column in this pop-up screen, to
see the link between the Correction number and the Transport Request?

I agree on this one.
However, a naming convention for OSS notes and FRICE is implemented over here.
That's why it would be useful to have an additional column.
The link is somewhere in SAP, because when you go to the tab Project Structure in TA /TMWFLOW/PROJ for the selected Maintenance Cycle, you see which Transport Requests are assigned to which ChaRM msg.

I am developing a report which requires Main transport request and its task request aswell. Now i have got tables for Main transport request , those EO70,E071 . But i need tables for the task request . Can you please suggest .

Unable to Create Transport request in more then one DEV client (in ChaRM)

Hi,
We are having 2 Landscapes,
DV1 (100) --> QA1(100) --> PR1(100)
DV1 (200)--> QA1(200) --> PR1(100)
Both these landscapes are added in the ChaRM Project landscape. When we have created a correction and created a Workbench request, we were getting the option to choose the DEV system and we chose DV1(200). When we tried to create a TR for Customizing in DV1(100) it did not provide the pop up for DEV systems and directly created the customizing request also in DV1(200). We were unable to even create the TR in DV1 (100) - using the task 'Create Transport request' in the Task plan for the corretcion (It gave an Error that the DV1(200) is the Development system for this change).
is this the standard behaviour? can't we have TRs from different client/ development systems under the same correction?
Please clarify?

As i said earlier you will get option to choose system for creating Transport Request only in case of normal corr
but in case of urg corr
you need to give ibase for production of the cocerned landscape
e.g if u have ecc and bi and want to create transport in ecc then giv ibase for prd of ecc only
because you will not get pop up in urg corr

Unable to release transport request because of control program tp

I have create a customized transaction type as a copy of urgent correction SDHF. I am not able to release the transport requests using the action in the toolbox 'Release Transport Request' and I obtain the following error in the log:
could not start transport control program tp
But if I directly execute the task 'Release Transport Request' in the task list, it works.
Another strange thing is that at the beginning both ways worked, but after some days I started to have this problem.

Including objects in a transporte request

Dear Gurus,
I have two questions:
1) I tried to include objects manually in a transport request because I had to delete them from another request where they did not belong. I copied in a notepad the Program Id, Object Type and Object name in order to use thes values in a new request created for this purpose. But when I went to the new task and put the Program ID, Object Type and Object Name and pressed 'Enter', the line recently filled with these values disappears. I have not found a way to register the required object in this way.
2) Then I tried to do the following thing: I went to the customizing (formulas and requirements) and modified the corresponding objects in order to trigger a suggestion of a new Transport Request. I saved my changes in the new requets. Then I went to SE10 in order to check the request task, but I found that the program Id and Object Type are totally different to what I have copied in the notepad before deleting object from task... Is this ok, or did I do something wrong?

You can try this.
Use a different userid and try to save the same object in the system. I hope it should ask for the transport request and the task wll be of REPAIR type.

SEM BCS Transport Request

Dear Experts,
Kindly let me know, WHile configuring BCS , saving any Request
i) Whole configuration gets saved to the Transpoprt Request or It understand the discrimination between Data Model, Master Data Consolidation Fucntion etc ?
OR/And
ii) While creating Consolidation Task, Can required task be saved in Transport request and unwanted task can be ignored in the same request ?

Transport request and task releasing?

Hi all,
I've three systems dev,QA and prod.I'm working on dev client and I've a two reports(say A and B) under the same transport request with different tasks,If I want to release the report 'A',is it necessary that I shud be releasing th ewhoel request number or if I release the task it's enough.why a transport request will have different tasks,when the transportationof ht ese taks associated with the transport request is independent.
I've released the task to QA and the QA sytem had some problem and did nto get he task,what I shud be doing now,release the task again or ?
Can a report be assigned to different tasks(numbers) under the same transport request.can the report be assiged to different transport requests.please let me know.

There is a transport route defined by your Basis Team for the transport scenarios. There, the possible ways through which request can be moved( from Dev --> QA & Dev --> Prod ) are defined.
But it does not mean that you can't transport your request to production without transporting it to QAS.
Furher, when you release a transport request, it does not automatically move to QAS or Production but someone from your Basis Team has to run the TP through Xn STMS, which in turn imports the objects from your Dev Request and put it on QAS / Production.
In case of any error encountered while importing to let's say QA, you need to check whether it's a problem with the transport buffer or is it because some objects are missing from the transports or dependent transports are not moved as yet.
Please understand that there is no concept of re-release.
You can only ask your Basis guy to re-import it.
According to the encountered problem, you need to decide whether you should just ask you Basis consultant to re-import the same Transport.
Or create a new request through SE10, and include all the objects from your last request. Release it and ask your Basis guy to import it to QAS.
Or first move the dependent transport and then ask your Basis guy to re-import your current transport.
Or create and group the changed objects, altogether in a new transport by changing all the objects which were contained in the original request.
Further, to your other queries, if two users are modifying the same program ( not exactly at the same time - that's not possible but one after other )then that program will be contained in two separate tasks of the same transport request.

Sub Transport Request for a Transport Request

Hi,
Just wanted to know why a sub Transport Request gets created once a Transport Request is created for any changes are done on the RICEF objects.
What is the purpose of the sub Transport Request.
Ex, say a Transport Request XXXX123456 is created then a Transport Request XXXX123457 gets created as its sub Transport Request.
The RICEF objects modified are attached with the sub Transport Request.
Why can't the modified objects be attached with the primary Transport Request ?
Please let me know this as this is the question I am really worried with.

Hello Binay,
To make things clear there is nothing called "Sub Transport Request" its called "Tasks".
A TR can have many Tasks which may or may not be related. Tasks can be assigned to Multiple Users but TR can be assigned to one user ONLY.
The Idea is to collate all the related objects & transport them together to subsequent SAP systems.
E.g., You a developing a Z-Program which fetches data from Z-Table which your teammate is developing ) Mutliple tasks allows both of you to save your entries under the same TR.
You can very well understand what will happen if this was not the case. There would have been too many dependency issues.

Changing object transport request

Hi,
I'm doing customizing creating a sales organization and defining output type.
By accident I put these two in the same transport request.
I want to move the defining output type object to another transport request as I want to transport that one first but I don't want to delete the creating sales organization.
Any way to do it?
I tried using object directory entry but can't.

Hi Dwi,
No need to delete anything.
If u imported it into any box we can't do anything.
But there is one method to overwrite it by assigning it as different TR's
So if u exported now, dont touch the TR(Transport Request)
The different tasks what this TR contains assign it as different TR's and release them in which order you want.
