Sync Shared Services External users & Provisioning for Essbase Applications

Hi Experts !!
i have externalised user authentication in Shared services . I provisioned all users for Essbase and refresh the security from Essbase ,So all users are working fine
and can login in Essbase and "Excel add-in" as well..
but there is one user who is still not working for "Excel Add in"..
Error is "Login failed due to invalid login credentials"
Please suugest me the solutions

Yes, User can login in EAS .
Also User is available under Users in EAS ,But no applications are displaying in Analytic Server , While I have given Administration Privileges for Essbase app.
But still error while login in Excel add in ..
Error : Login failed due to invalid login Credentials.
Also ,After Provisioning , How Can we Sync all all Externalized users from Shared Services itself for All hyperion Projects ???

Documentation Tool for Querys

Hello All!
Has anyone a good recommendation for a docu tool for querys?
We have to document all our productiv querys and that in a really short time.
Hope that anyone has a good recommendation.

If you are looking for any readymade tool then I am not aware of any. But as suggested, you should use Metadata repository to get the complete and fast access to all the query details. The only disadvantage is, you will not be able to know RKF, CKF, Selection and Formula definitions. For that you will have to look into Query desginer only.

There is a basic automated testing program already
supplied by Forte in the examples. It is called
AutoTest.Pex. It records events and can replay them.
It can be a bit tricky and is a bit basic, but
may have some of the functionality that you want.
This is specifically for window / widget testing.

application.
Does anybody have experience with testtools for Forte applications or
can even recommend a testtool particulary suitable for Forte
applications.

There is also TestComplete by AutomatedQA but it is of
limited usage because it is not mx.automation aware and in many
difficult cases reverts to dumb mouse X,Y recording.
And there is the upcoming RIATest that will be specifically
designed for Flex using mx.automation. Here is the site:

No. In my testing of it I found that it failed to do most of what it claimed it would do. I say avoid it.
It is only good for paving the vendors pocket's with gold.

and how many folders and file will be created at the time of Hyp Planning Application??

I'm not sure if this is directly related to your specfic problem. But I know that Tomcat 5.5.23 is missing a properly formed jar file called "naming-factory.jar". And as of this date, it is not clear to me that they have released a fixed build. So it is recommended that you download version 5.5.17 and obtain the file "naming-factory.jar" and copy it into the CATALINA/common/lib directory of your 5.5.23 installation.

Web input tool for Essbase?

I am wondering if there is any web tool that I can use to writeback to essbase. Currently we are pulling dashboards from Obiee with Essbase integration. But it doesn't support writeback. I am wondering if there is any web tool that can be used to input into essbase. Appreciate your suggestions and advice,

EV is a realy cool software.
Oracle could have done a good deal, when they had purchased this tool/technologie. Unfortunately they have not and now it is owned by IBM. Too bad.

Performance monitoring tool for Essbase

Currently we are using Zabbix to monitor the resource usage of Essbase database (CPU, memory, disk IO, etc).
We would like to know is there are any other web based monitoring tools that can monitor down to process level. The existing Windows performance monitor is relatively complex and also lack of web based interface for administrator to monitor the processes easily.
We are also looking at Quest Spotlight for Windows but not yet fully explored its capability. We would like to know if there are other choices used by other Essbase administrators.

Searching for a deployment tool for Developer Applications

hey ladies & gentlemen.....I wish that I should've a single setup.exe file to install my appliation developed in Oracle Developer,in addition it should also install the Oracle Database after copying the runtime application files. In this way I wish to facilitate my clients so that they should not call me to re-install the client application if he needs to reinstall the application after a system or windows crash recovery,n he should perform it just like installing another appliation like MS-Office etc. although I know that installing the Oracle Database is a very technical matter,yet I'm looking to fulfill my wish:).thanx.

You can't deploy a Forms application as an .exe. You need to install the runtime and then all the FMX/PLL/MMX files. There are tools that may help you package this up but not to a .exe file - this is why a web deployed application has advantages over client/server.

There is izPack, Innosetup and nullsoft scriptable install system to name a few famous ones. Just ask google and see which one fits your needs!
