Searching for extended ABAP Classes documentation

Hi,
I'm a newbie to this forum (perhaps I'm a newbie in an abap too - with my 1.5 yrs abaping) but I'm interested in a few topics related to classes available in the repository:
1. Where can I find full and detailed info (means description of interfaces both public and private/static) on classes included in a dev.class SLIS, SCET, especially specific ones - currently I'm looking for a documentation on class <cl_alv_changed_data_protocol>, because the info supplied in the repository is not so obviously clear for me.
2. Can someone point me to a SAP cource/academy -name(s) related to the public classes related to a gui programming and!!!! their support-classes (such as mentioned one above) - which is most important.
3. (specific question) In the OO framework(s) I worked with in my background there was a possibility to 'extend' some class' behaviour (usualy adding interface). Is there any possibility in a SAP environment to do this and if yes where can I find a docu/info on how to achieve this? Is this achieved only with a related access key?
4. Please could someone provide me a dev.class names with demo-programs (such as SLIS, SCET) related (mostly) to a GUI-programming?
Perhaps checking the source of the demo-reports supplied in these dev.classes would help me, but occasionaly it's a bit more complicated and time-consuming than to check a related docu, isn't it?
The info-sources I have (and used widely) are:
a) html-documentation with my (ok, our) installation > 4.6C (both integrated into an environment and CHM-help).
b) 'Controls Technology - Workbench edition' - which I would recommend to all the programmers interested in this area.
c) 'An Easy Reference for ALV Grid Control' by Serdar SIMSEKLER (BTW, thank you very, very much Serdar! for providing this reference to the public, I found it very usefull)
d) of cource, the Class Builder via Repository Browser (se80) which usually and unfortunately doesn't report me any class information when asked.
e) occasionaly google-ing the world with a specific question and checking this fourm or some related one(s) in the sap community and in de.alt.comp.sap-r3 newsgroup (unfortunately for me the last one is basicaly with postings in German, which makes it unusable to me).
Perhaps most of you would agree there is a lack of information on these topics. Or, of course, I'm still a newbie and don't know how/where to find it
Please note, answers in sort of 'Feel free to ask with a specific question here...' are not the answer(s) I'm looking for I know this possiblilty and am using it :-).
Finaly, one question off topic and related mostly to the moderators:
Is there an intention or even better a possibility to achieve this forum via NNTP-protocol (means using a standard news-client)? It would be great for me if it's possible or is intended to become possible - I'm using a news-client to track few newsgroups (forums) and it would be great not to switch to a different browser to track this one, which is IMHO the best english-speaking abap-related forum.

From within SE80 choose menu Environment->Controls Examples. This will lead you to many fine Enjoy Control Example programs.
Also SAP had a class several years ago called BC412 ABAP Dialog Programming Using EnjoySAP Controls. It might still be around in some format.

ABAP Documentation and Examples

Hi everybody,
I have the Testdrive N4S here on my SuSE 10.3 and I'm trying to learn a bit about ABAP by viewing the Examples under ABAPDOCU. So far I can see the code but not the documentation. When doubleclicking on the red "?" icon I get an Information window telling me Invalid "fastpath" a click on the yellow "?" icon gives me the Information Message no. 00260
I couldn't find anything regarding this problem in the forum or the wiki so far.
What do I have to do so I can use the documentation?

Hi Prashanth,
The program about which you are saying is a help program which is used to understand the basic concepts of ABAP. The program is used to show just how an ABAP program works.
That program is simple. let me tell you how it works.
the variable INPUT stores the value HELOLO WORLD! by default.
now we are calling the screen 100.
so the control takes you to the screen 100. you just double click on the screen 100 the it will show you the screen layout. there you cna see how the screen 100 was created.
but since there is nothing written in the PBO or PAI modules the control will take you back to the report program output screen.
this is how that program works.

Observer Design Pattern: Looking for redesign ABAP OO code example

I am looking for an example for ABAP OO code that has been redesigned by applying the Observer Design Pattern. I would be very interested in both the code before as well as the code after the pattern is being applied.

Observer can be implemented using the EVENTS.
I had recently implemented the observer at one of my client's place. I had screen with so many ALVs. One ALV was kind of editable and other were just showing the information of the current row as well as some total information. So, initially I started with the Main ALV and SUB(1 and 2) for other ALVs. Now, when I need to refresh my ALVs based on the main ALV data, I had to explicitly update the data of the each Sub ALV. The code was kind of static and requirement was not yet fixed.
Later on we need to add one more ALV on the same screen. It was easy to change the existing method where I was doing the explicit refresh of each ALV. But I thought of using the Events.
I created an event REFRESH_DETAILS for main ALV. so, when data gets changed (which I was catching by DATA_CHANGED event of ALV), I raise the event.
RAISE EVENT REFRESH_DETAILS
exporting new_data = it_Data.
In Sub ALVs, I created the event handler method to handle the event REFRESH_DETAILS of the main ALV.
methods: handle_refresh_details
for event REFRESH_DETAILS of ZCL_MAIN_ALV.
I also had to register the Handler.
SET HANDLER me->handle_refresh_details FOR ALL INSTANCES.

Is there a FM to read all the files which start with TEST (for example) from the Unix server?
Requirement is if we put TEST* in the selection screen for the filename, it should read all the files which start with TEST from the default Unix path.

Send Email with Webdynpro for Abap

Hi,
i want to send an email without a attachment after the customer has filled a form.
The Webdynpro for Abap action must send a notification Email to the

A simple example of ABAP memory is using the EXPORT/IMPORT statements.
Here in this program, I get the data, export it to memory,
clear out the internal table in my progam, then reimport the data into it and write out the data.
You probably wounldn't do this in a normal program,
but this is how you can pass data from program a to program b when A Submits program B.
report zxy_0002 .
data: it001 type table of t001 with header line.
select * into table it001 from t001.
export it001 = it001 to memory id 'ZXY_TEST'.
clear it001. refresh it001.
import it001 = it001 from memory id 'ZXY_TEST'.

SAP Memory
SAP memory is a memory area to which all main sessions within a SAPgui have access.
You can use SAP memory either to pass data from one program to another within a session,
or to pass data from one session to another.
Application programs that use SAP memory must do so using SPA/GPA parameters (also known as SET/GET parameters).
These parameters can be set either for a particular user
or for a particular program using the SET PARAMETER statement.
Other ABAP programs can then retrieve the set parameters using the GET PARAMETER statement.
The most frequent use of SPA/GPA parameters is to fill input fields on screens
ABAP/4 Memory
ABAP memory is a memory area that all ABAP programs within the same internal session can access
using the EXPORT and IMPORT statements.
Data within this area remains intact during a whole sequence of program calls. To pass data
to a program which you are calling,
the data needs to be placed in ABAP memory before the call is made.
The internal session of the called program then replaces that of the calling program.
The program called can then read from the ABAP memory.
If control is then returned to the program which made the initial call, the same process operates in reverse.
SAP memory
The SAP memory, otherwise known as the global memory,
is available to a user during the entire duration of a terminal session.
Its contents are retained across transaction boundaries as well as external and internal sessions.
The SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETER statements allow you to write to, or read from, the SAP memory.
ABAP/4 memory
The contents of the ABAP/4 memory are retained only during the lifetime of an external session
(see also Organization of Modularization Units).
You can retain or pass data across internal sessions.
The EXPORT TO MEMORY and IMPORT FROM MEMORY statements allow you to write data to, or read data from, the ABAP memory.

Documentation help with example

Hello,
I am in process of java learning with the help of java documentation i.e. http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/
But, there is no example to describe the command/method/function etc. so that i may learn with the examples. For example i wish to print a message on the screen; so i will write System.out.println("My message"). If it is with the example as in action,
If you please tell me to get the syntax with example; i hope i may get faster and clear concepts.

Not able to integrate Payment Gateway with WebDynpro for ABAP

Hi,
 I am not able to integrate the Payment Gateway for Billdesk ( third party software) with Webdynpro for ABAP.
Summery of the Issue : -
(*) Data from PORTAL Application to PAYMENT GATEWAY is going Correctly but
(*) Data from PAYMENT GATEWAY to PORTAL Application is not going correctly.
Details about the Problem : -
 I have created 3 View in Webdynpro Application for ABAP.
View 1 -> Sales Order
View 2 -> Confirm Order
View 3 -> Success Message
When I am on the View 2 i,e Confirm Order, I have a UI Element ( LINK TO URL) on this View. When I click on the Link it successful takes me to the Bill desk site(Payment Gateway Integrator).After selecting the Card Type - > Master card, or Visa or Amex, I am routed to the Gateway Site of the Citibank, Where I have to enter the CARD details like Card Number, CVV Number, Expiry Date, and press the Submit Button.
Which now takes me to the final confirmation site, stating
1) Order Number
2) Bank ID
3) Merchant ID
4) Amount
5) Authorize ( APPROVED / NOT APPROVED)
Now once i click on the Submit button, It transfers the amount of the Customer to my bank account, correctly and goes back to the my portal application.
Till here it is working correctly, but 1 parameter is missing which is called "msg", and this parameter contains important information regarding the payment. This parameter is sent back form the Gateway Site to my Portal.
1) Authorize STATUS
2) Check Sum
etc... which will be finally required to decided whether I should go on to create the Sales Order for the Customer or not.
If the Authorize Status = '0300' then only create the Sales Order other wise if the status is any thing else lets say not equal to '0300' then gives the message that the Credit Card is not authorize to process the Sales Order.

it's name is PLUTAS. We have got developer kit from Plutas (For trial ) . we have installed that kit in our system.
In my program, I am triggering " PL_TriggerTransaction" using call method. After triggering method it executes method, control passes to third party software. But I am not able to catch return parameter (Responce).
So that would be great if you help me out with this issue.

Integrating WebDynpro ABAP applications with UWL for workflow in Portal

Dear
We want to integrate an abap webdynpro application as task in the workflow with UWL.
More information was found in /people/ginger.gatling/blog/2005/12/14/create-new-uis-for-existing-workflow-tasks-with-abap-web-dynpro-and-universal-worklist
But no answer on the following issue:
We use the transaction SWFVISU to prepare standard setting for our task. This defines how a task is executed, once you select the task subject line on the worklist.

I have two fields in a table
One is Rule field and another is Bool Field
In The Rule Field , there are 2 fixed values namely SET_VALUE and CHK_VALUE(F4 help is Given)
In the Bool Field, There are 3 fixed values namely BLANK, AND, OR(F4 help is given)
My Requirement for that table is
If we select Rule = SET_VALUE then it should automatically has to provide for Bool value as AND or BLANK but not OR
If we select Rule = CHK_VALUE then it should automatically has to provide for Bool value as OR or BLANK but not AND
Please kindly provide me the solution for that in the SM30
