Documenting profile settings and setup information

Hello,
I am looking for an easy way to document all of the profile settings and setup information in several installations of Oracle 11.5.10 on Linux.
Ideally we want to be able to print and compare the configurations of several installations; quickly and easily!
I am aware of a product from Compelsolve called ConfigSnapshot, but this costs about £25K, so a bit out of our budget!
Anyone found anything that may help?
Martin.

What I did was install iCloud again - uninstall it properly so everything goes - reinstall iCloud in a separate directory and finally it worked.  This may be all you need to do - but in case there are other things I did that helped see below.
This was after I had actually installed and reinstalled Outlook.  In between I actually upgraded from 2010 to 2013 Outlook which I installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired - as you have done.
I also absolutely cleared the Outlook calendar to remove not only repeating entries but all entries - put it in List View to do this.  Some have said that recurring entries in Outlook cause problems.
I actually exported my Outlook email and imported back in under a different profile and deleted the Outlook profile - renamed my new profile Outlook - but that I don't think made much difference.
I believe that the clean install of iCloud worked.  Also I had deleted the Sync file long ago - you can find it in Outlook if you look for your data files  - there's one with an obscure name - I deleted that and moved it.
I got rid of the Outlook Config file - it's in Roaming, not Local - username/AppDat/Microsoft/Outlook/YOURPROFILE.XML - you can actually set profiles from the Control Panel if you go to Mail....

  • Editing Profile name and other information

I read somewhere that you can edit you profile or account name so will not show as it really is. What I an saying is other people online will not see your real account name. Now I am reading Skype does not allow this. So if you edit your name so it is not the same as your real account name will affect the way Skype functions? Like what  I did was just use the first initial of my last name and my first name.
    Solved!

    Hi, Twann,
As of approximately Skype 5.11, we can no longer search for our own Skype account names while we are signed on to Skype using that account.   In other words, if you are signed on using another Skype account, you can search the directory for the account you wish to review or see.  It does not matter whose computer is being used.
Does that make sense?  Let me try it this way ...
Account A ----> Cannot search and view Account A's Skype Account
Account B ----> Can search for and view Account A's Skype Account
Account A ----> Can search for and view Account B's Skype Account
    Therefore,
Account B ----> Cannot search and view Account B's Skype Account
    Regards,
    Elaine

  • Settings and setup

Just a quick couple of questions, I hope , I'm switching ISP's I already use a netgear N600 a my router/modem with a home network set up, I'd rather not use the HH4 that's coming, can I assume setup and settings are simple? And can anyone confirm exactly what the setting are?
    I've seen these suggested...
Logon username: Created when setting up your account - example: [email protected]
Logon password: No password is required, as BT uses the phone number you're connecting via for authentication. If your router needs one, use "BT"
Encapsulation: PPPoA or PPP over ATM
    15,800.00 VC-based or VC Mux
    VPI/VCI: 0/38
BT Broadband Primary DNS address: 62.6.40.162
BT Broadband Secondary DNS address: 194.72.0.98

Thanks, anything else I should be aware of? Or will I just be able to set up and go? (Fingers crossed of course )

  • How to delete all mail settings and setup mail as if new installation?

Grrr! Comcast had my Mom change all sorts of email account and ISP settings, to the point where nothing works. I want to delete "everything" and start from scratch as if I just pulled the Mac out of the box. Will just deleting her email account be enough? Should I delete any files from the library? Etc.
    Thanks!

All you have to do is delete the account. This will also delete all her downloaded mail if this is a POP account.

  • Profile settings revert back

I get these spam system notification calls all the time, so I change my profile settings to accept calls only from people in my contact list.  Which works only until the next call from these scam callers.  After I get another call I go to check my profile settings and they always revert back to accept calls from anyone.  It looks like somehow there users are able to get access to my profile settings and change them before putting a call through.  This has already happenned to me on several occasions.  Has anyone else experienced this problem and knows what to do?

I'm having the same problem! I've had about 30 random people message me, and about 5-6 calls in last day or so =/. I keep going to my privacy settings and switching it back to "contacts only" but as soon as I click "save" it goes right back to the default settings .
I've tried signing in & out and even un-installing and re-installing Skype, but it doesn't make a difference?
EDIT - Read in another thread that all you have to do it switch you're status to "offline" for a mintue and switch it back to "online" and everything should save again. It worked for me
that procedure indeed worked most of the times.

Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.
I understand .mac mail will still come through. Do not delete the old account yet.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
              •          Server name: imap.mail.me.com
              •          SSL Required: Yes
              •          Port: 993
              •          Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
              •          Password: Your iCloud password
    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
              •          Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
              •          SSL Required: Yes
              •          Port: 587
              •          SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
              •          Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
              •          Password: Your iCloud password
Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria:  8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers.  If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message.  Go to   http://appleid.apple.com         then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.
    Thanks to dpepper...

  • How do I copy extensions, extension settings, and about:config preferences to a new profile (different Windows login or different computer)?

I have/had no trouble with Firefox at all. What I have is a new computer, with multiple users. I would like to use my relatively secure Firefox setup (i.e. NoScript with a LOT of configuration and site data stored, PrefBar and TabMix configuration, a bunch of custom settings in about:config) for all the user accounts on the new machine, but give users the option to change their settings afterwards (i.e. use the old profile to initialize all the new user profiles).
I understand why this is not recommended when one has Firefox issues and has to make a new profile. This is not the issue here.
I have the old profile (actually the entire Documents and Settings/<username> folder) backed up, but do not have a setup whereby I can run Firefox using this old profile.
    How do I do this?
PS the computer I'm posting this from is neither the old nor the new computer in question, so the "educated guesses" section is meaningless.

Never mind - I successfully brute-forced it in about half an hour. Renamed the profile folders and copied everything, emptied the cache, deleted the password store in all the accounts but mine, and fired up Firefox.
    Works great.

  • Adobe Camera Raw Save Settings and Lens Profile Corrections Help

I have been fooling around with Adobe Camera Raw’s (ACR) ability to save settings so that I can apply them to other images. I’m able to set things such as clarity, vibrance, camera profile etc. What I want to do is enable Lens Profile Corrections and have it automatically detect the lens information for future images, apply no distortion corrections and apply vignetting and chromatic aberration corrections. However, when I try this, the Lens profile sticks on “Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM” (which is what I used for creating the settings to be saved) regardless of the lens used for the image that I am applying the settings to. Is there a way do this?
I’m using Photoshop CS6 and ACR current version.
    Thanks,
    Mike

You should see an Adobe Standard profile and perhaps an ACR x.x profile for your camera, but Adobe does not make Camera-centric profiles (landscape, portrait, camera neutral, etc) for most cameras unless they are Canon DSLRs, Nikon DSLRs, one Leica and a few Pentax cameras.
On a Vista/Win7 system you can verify what models of cameras are supported by Adobe by looking for profiles in:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
    The lens profiles are in:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles
There are comparable directories on Win XP.

  • How to push color settings and profiles?

I understand AAMEE 3.0 does not support packaging settings alltogether with the apps.
So the questions comes, how do you guys push the color settings and the workspaces to the newly deployed CS6 packages?
Is there a safe/approved way to do it?
    Thank you.

FOGRA39 is fine for sheet fed offset-printing in Europe (central Europe at least).
For web fed offset printed magazines you may want to use either ISO Coated v2 300 (ECI) or PSO LWC Improved (ECI) if you have no further information.
    And for newspapers ISOnewpaper26v4.
    http://www.eci.org/doku.php?id=en:downloads
You may want to read up (in the Help or  other resources) on Color Management, though, to get a grasp on factors like Render Intent.
And better not use »Assign Profile« unless you are certain you understand what this does.
Will be printed CMYK image as well, as it looks?
That would naturally depend on your monitor and how regularly it is calibrated.

    Hi jennys8380407,
Can you please elaborate on what you mean by "unable to obtain a receipt"? Are you not able to see the invoices for your payments? Or are you unable to print them? It sounds like you have followed the steps outlined here: Print a payment receipt or invoice | Creative Cloud--can you tell me what you do see when you look at the subscriptions listed on your account?

I plugged my iphone 4 up to itunes and it reset my phone to the factory settings and erasaed all of my emails, texts, apps, and recently added contacts.  How can I restore my previous settings and information?

iTunes doesn't just restore a phone to factory settings all by itself.  You must have selected the incorrect button.
In any case, if there was a previous backup of your phone, you can restore your phone from this backup.  Any new data you added to your phone since this backup is gone.
If you have no backup, then your data is gone.
