i was wondering documents that i make with Microsoft Word and office for Mac will they be compatible with word on windows ? and same question i have to adobe photoshop products with psd extension on windows, thank you

thanx, and that applies for photoshop also and pdf created with proffesional acrobat ?
i also was thinking in more genral, softwares that have 2 editions for windows and Mac such as CorelDraw should i allways think there documents are compapatibale or i need to ask for each software ?

Importing PDF and Photoshop files since using Windows 7 64bit

Hi,
I recently upgraded (?) to Windows 7 64bit. I have notices when importing PDF and photoshop files into the InDesign document, the resolution of the graphics are off and the lines are choppy. Even the fonts are illegible. What happened? Are there some settings that I need to into and tweek to bring everything back into alignment and focus? (If those are the correct words.) When I view the PDF files in windows, they are normal. It is only when imported into InDesign that they are distorted.

I run Maximized, so the window fills the available space (you can set the shortcut properties to open that way so you don't have to do it each time), or you could resize the window from the top, then grabe the title bar and drag it upward on the screen. Windows should remember the size and position, but it may not, being Windows, after all.

Storage for jpg, files and photoshop files??

Premier elements. How to store HUGE amount of one's notes(Word & Excel), jpg, and Photoshop files away from computer to save memory?? Used Adobe's library, but now only accepts 50 files a month.

How does all this relate to Premiere Elements?
By Adobe's library, I am assuming that you are referring to Adobe Revel. If so, you can get more storage space at Adobe Revel by upgrading your free membership (I believe that there is a fee associated with that).
What I prefer to do is store such files on an USB 2.0 or 3.0 external hard drive which is formatted NTFS, not FAT32. These drives come in a variety of capacities, come in desktop of portable hand held types, and can be plug and play. You can look for these drives on sale. Probably can find 1 TB under $100.00 US dollars.

Documents and media files on separate drive

How do I set up my MacPro so my documents and media files (iTunes library, iPhoto library, Movies) are on a separate drive from my system/startup drive?

You can move the "Documents" folder to another drive. There is nothing special about any folders, but some applications may expect them to be in certain places, and might recreate them if they are not there. File locations are up to the individual applications. Usually you can set things in the preferences.

Slow to open Illustrator and Photoshop files from FileServer

I have a client that has 5 or so Mac users who cannot open Illustrator and Photoshop files from our Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. At first, we thought it might be the size of the files over the network because some files are 2-3GB, but they are even having issues with files 200KB. We also tested network and bandwidth speeds, but they are all connected to Gigabit connections and running with PowerMacs.
Some users have a workaround by copying the files to their desktop to open, but that is becoming tedious as well.
Does anyone have another solution or know what might be cause to this?

when i power up, i get this prolong gray screen which wont change screen but remain so. Infact i am handicapped.

The MBA seems to cause several problems to several users on boot ups
On start up my MBA would not boot up the apple logo came on but only a blank screen appeared no fan i followed several start up recommendations but to no avail so I took the MBA to the nearest Apple repair centre again the same symptoms on start up ......very sorry sir you need a new mother board that will be $500 not feeling confidant in the product declined and was going to put it on ebay for spares.
On return home I pressed the start up button and it started normally everything was working fine i decided to reinstall all the software what has caused the problem I have no idea but it is after several attempted reboots it finally started on its own so don't give up if you have this problem it may come to life

I have word doc which having 10 pages. I need to show all of the 10 pages at a time. I tried OLE object but problem is it shows only one page.
Is there any solution to show word doc / PDF file in CR?

Symptom :
When embedding a pdf document into a Crystal Report, only the one page shows.

Cause
An OLE object only displays the first page.
Resolution
Embed multiple objects, one for each page
Or
Use a hyperlink to the object instead

APEX- How to open world document (and other files) stored in a blob column?

I have an application developed in Oracle Apex 3.2.1 and RDBMS Oracle 9.2.0.8 (SUN SOLARIS SPARC 64 BITS).
I have a table called BAC_ARQUIVO, with the following structure:
CREATE TABLE BAC_ARQUIVO
(NAME VARCHAR2(4000), /* Name of the file stored in BLOB column */
SUBJECT VARCHAR2(4000), /* A brief description about this file stored */
ID NUMBER, /* An identification of this file - It´s a PK column of this table*/
BLOB_CONTENT BLOB, /* Blob field that store diferent kind of files - XLS, DOC, PPT, PDF, EXE, ZIP, etc);

The field BLOB_CONTENT of this table can store:
- Executable files;
- MS-World Documents (DOC);
- Zip Files (ZIP);
- Ms-Excel Files (XLS);
- Ms-Powerpoint files (PPT);
- Adobe documents (PDF);
Actually, in this APEX application, i have developed a interactive Report in which the user can download these files to desktop without problems.
But now, my user would like to know if it´s possible that APEX application can OPEN some of these files stored on this BLOB column WITHOUT download it.
My user would like to see a hiperlink (or button) that, if pressed/acessed, can open a new page (or a page inside application) with the document. He doesn´t need to edit this oppened file. He only wants to see it.
For example, if the file stored in the blob column is ms-word type , so the application will open a MS-WINDOWS application with these file.
Is it possible?
I saw in this forum that it´s possible to open a file stored on "/i/" directory, but i need to open the file stored in BLOB column. I don´t want to store the file in operational system of the server.
Could any one demonstrate to me how it could be done?

I just purchased Dreamweaver. Is there a way to import

There are two different kind of workflows to work with Adobe
Photoshop files in Adobe Dreamweaver. The first workflow is done by
using the cut and paste method. The other method is the Smart
Objects procedure.
I suggest that you conduct a search query in Dreamweaver
Help, or Searching Adobe dot com query, and the third method, I
believe that you probably find other forum discussion similar to
your question.

Simple Edits to Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop files

We need to be able to make simple edits to Photoshop and Illustrator files -- e.g. fixing typos. I am hesitant to buy a copy of both programs at over $1000 when we will be using 0.01% of the program!
Desire is to open, make edit, save in original format.
Anyone know a way?

Opening InDesign and Photoshop files

Why can't I see any .indd or .psd files in my Gallery (Android)? I know they're there - can see them in my file manager.

The native Gallery app is meant for just standard image formats and does not support product specific formats, not even Adobe products. If you have InDesign or Photoshop files you wanted to import into Adobe Debut; the best way to do so is to upload your .psd and .indd files to the Adobe Creative Cloud Files website https://creative.adobe.com/ from your desktop and then import them into Adobe Debut on your tablet through the Creative Cloud option.

*** 2 issues: Wrong email program opens in Safari and Photoshop files

I have a couple of issues I'm hoping someone can resolve for me:
1. When in Safari, I click on an email hyperlink and instead of it launching Apple mail (the email application I use) it launches Entourage. How do I change this so that when I click on the hyperlink it launches Apple mail?
2. I can't open a Photoshop file when double clicking it. It launches Photoshop but the file never opens. I've had this problem before, but can't remember how to fix it. Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this so that when I double-click on a .psd file it will open in Photoshop.

For item 2 - try repairing permissions - and try doign a get info on the doc - under Opens With reselect Photoshop - or even change it to some other app then change it back - a while back I had a problem where the docs where trying to open using the classic compatible portion of Photoshop (the non carbonized code - or whatever it was called) eventually got it working.

Ok.. much more complicated.
There is several things that add to the background of the story.
1. That you are trying to backup a USB drive drive already.. I strongly recommend CCC to do this.. as you cannot setup a separate task in TM to separate the backups. I can understand not wanting to add another USB and it is older iMac so usb2 only.
2. Your Express do add complexity.. yes they work better if using the TC..
Will replacing the ASUS with a TC improve my music streaming through the AE's given that it will all be apple then?

Is the wireless range of the TC as good as the ASU in your opinion?
No, i have both and the Asus is very good.. but with the Express you can do more than you are doing.
What model Express and what model Asus we need to know to give a straight answer??

I strongly recommend you start over with new names..
Problems in wireless networks are common.. and part of the problem is trying to make one wireless router pretend to be another .. you don't fool the clients that rely on MAC address, BSSID not SSID. And you don't fool the main router.. which now is lost as to the clients expecting one MAC address and getting another.
It doesn't take that long.. use a slightly different name but the same password is fine.. I have several wireless routers.. all use the same password but different SSID.

Probably your monitor profile is corrupt.
If you're on Windows, see here:

If you're on a Mac, you'll need to try something similar to set your monitor profile to sRGB. NOTE: this is merely a temporary fix. You need to acquire a hardware calibrator (decent ones can be had for around $100) and calibrate your monitor with it.
