Documents in BW....Can we link to R/3 Document ?

Hi All,
For master data we can maintain documents in R/3 system... We also maintain documents in BW...
Lets say for 'Material' we have a document available in R/3 already. We want the same document to be available from BW. So, now do we have to create another copy and save it in BW server separately or is there any way to link to already existing document in R/3.

I would like to know if we need to copy the same document from R/3 into BW, or is there anyway to link directly to R/3 without duplicating the same document in BW at the document level.

Bookmarks are missing (sadly) and with them, the ability to create an in document link.
I was looking for this feature in a Table of Contents. When you assign a 'style' to text in a document, you can Insert > Table of Contents. Then Pages will keep the TOC updated and you'll be able to 'link' from the page number in the TOC. (Not much help though, for the OP)

How can I link from one flash document to another with buttons?

Hi,
From the question above, you can tell that I'm very new to flash, especially with scripting. Total noob.
I watched my instructor's videos and I'm still stumped. He didn't explain it very well.
For starters, I am using Flash CS6, but I clicked on AS1.0 and AS2.0 from the drop down mention in the actionscript window for the script below, since that is what my instructor used.
What I have now are various pages I've already created in flash that are different pages in my website, including a splash page with an enter button.
For example, I want the enter button to link to another .swf or .html file when it is clicked. This file will be the main page.
I tried using this script that my instructor mentioned in the video on the button layer:

the "page1.swf" file is already in the same folder in my computer as my splash page and I even imported it to the library of my splash page.
From my instructor's video demo, that should be apparently all that is needed.
But I cannot get this to work.
I tested the file and this is what flash comes up with:
In the output tab:
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable TCMText is not defined.
In the compiler errors tab:
Scene 1, Layer 'Layer 28', Frame 1, Line 1
1180: Call to a possibly undefined method on.
Scene 1, Layer 'Layer 28', Frame 1, Line 1
1120: Access of undefined property release.
Scene 1, Layer 'Layer 28', Frame 1, Line 2
1180: Call to a possibly undefined method getURL.
Any thoughts? My instructor also recommended that I embed the .swf into an .html, but he obviously didn't tell us how to do that!
Also, why doesn't script assist work with AS3?

Okay so I changed it to AS1/AS2.
Now it says this:
Scene=Scene 1, layer=Layer 28, frame=1, Line 1
Mouse events are permitted only for button instances
Scene=Scene 1, layer=Layer 28, frame=1, Line 4
Syntax error.
I am very confused.
Also, since all my other pages are in AS3, is there some way I can use another script in AS3 that accomplishes the same task?
Can someone please provide me with the correct script to use?

I can link attachments to task by using project's Schedule Tools- Link To button. But in Tasks & Project Site, I can't link attachments to task,document,risk,issue.
The Custom Commands is ok, I can change link object but after saving nothing changed.
Is there sth wrong in system or database?

Hi, have you by any chance break the synchronization of project site issue/risk list?
Have you rename/delete any of the default existing columns of Issue/Risk lists? You can also verify this from Queue Job, where you can find error that its unable to synchronize.
Now if above is valid, just see if you have any project sit with the default columns available, save it as a template and associate it with your EPT.

Can't send Word or Excel Documents from my mail account.

I'm running on OSX( 10,4,3) and I can't send any Word or Excel documents.
Well what I mean is the person at the receiving end can't open them. They just come up as corrupted documents. I can send RTF.
Windows friendly is turned on.
If I send a document to myself (even though I created the document myself) I can't open it. (Corrupted Document it says).
If I send it to a PC or MAC user they still can't open it.
If I send it from another e-mail address (Ntl) the same document will open regardless of PC or MAC user.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

Try selecting/using NTL's SMTP server to send mail with your .Mac account as a test.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for the accounts preferences, select the pop-up to the right of the outgoing (SMTP) server selection.
Select the NTL SMTP server to be used to send mail with your .Mac account. When exiting account preferences, select OK to save the changed setting when prompted.
Using the NTL SMTP server to send mail with your .Mac account will be invisible to all recipients.

Can we link all the documents for a particular requirements document

As of now, In Solution Manager we can able to find the document only if we know the document name or any of other details. Can we do in such a manner, If we have requirements document and can we link all related documents (Functional Spec, Technical Spec, Code Review, Test Documents) to the requirements document. If we find the requirement document, we should be able to see all related documents for that specific requirement.
Can we do like this? Is is possible to go in this way. This is my client requirement can anybody help me to achive this.

In the implementation area, for the documents in your projects (SOLAR01/SOLAR02) you are able to create these links in the attributes of each document. You just have to navigate through the structure of your project in the solar01/02 transactions. Select the row of the document and click in the button attributes. There you'll see a tab named "Links". In this tab you can create such links.

Have you installed Adobe Reader and its associated plugin? AFAIK, that's the preferred if not the only way to open PDFs in an embedded view within Safari.

PPC Macs do not like hi-density PC RAM. That's why I linked these two; they send the right stuff to Mac users.

Can I link a template to several documents?

I am producing a series of booklets which are all the same size and have a number of common pages at the back.
Is it possible to craete a template that links to each of my documents so that whenever I cahnage the template all the documents will be automatically updated?
It's getting qyuite labourious amending each document every time there is a change to the common pages.

No, that works, but it's more work to revise the file and make a new PDF than it is to just revise the file. Suppose the page count changes? The book takes care of that automatically, the placed file will need to have pages added or removed.
And you have urged the OP to upgrade not only to CS3 but to make the leap to CS4, so you contradict your first argument by saying the OP needs to upgrade at some expense.
I think you misunderstood. My first choice was the no-expense method of using the Book feature (and I'd probably do that in CS4, as well). I simply meant that IF the OP chose to upgrade, he should go all the way to CS4 instead of trying to find a CS3 copy.
Why can't it have page numbering? You make an indesign file with all the data bar the master page items, running heads, footers, page numbers etc.
You place that InDesign file/PDF into the current documents that have the same template as everything else, including page numbers and footers.
Indeed, you can do all of that, but those numbers are imported "as is" and bear no relationship to the current document numbering scheme. Suppose for one version the front part is 94 pages and for another it is 135? What numbers do you want in your placed file? If the template has duplicated master items (i.e. you use the same template to make both documents), I think the situation is even worse -- you'll get stacked elements from the placed document on top of the master elements on the document page (I did not check this for a placed .indd, but it would certainly be true for a PDF).
Just with my first experience using the Book it was a nightmare, especially for a beginner. There's options in there that can turn your numbering inside out and you don't know where to look to fix them.
I still think the book option is a little extreme.
Well, what can I say to that? I've never had a problem with the book feature, but tables drive me crazy...
Every feaure requires some practice to get right, I think. The thing with numbering in books is that it takes control of the individual documents and resets the internal numbering, IF you set the book to do automatic numbering (which is the default, for pretty good reasons) and needs to be changed BEFORE adding documents if you want to turn it off.
I agree that isn't an obvious thing, especially to a new user. I would argue, though, that in this case it wouldn't have much impact. I don't see this as a problem except in the case where a document is to be both used separately and included in a book, in which case you would always need to reset the document numbering internally to use it as a standalone.

I have a chart on the first page How cn aI link two charts on differnetof my document. The last line is a intermediate total (formula). How can I link the chart on the next page to this total, so I can go on with the calculation without having to copy and paste the result of the first chart?

I'm sure that you could figure out how to get along with Pages, or Numbers. Each has it's own advantages and disadvantages.
If you put all your text that doesn't need to be in the table into text boxes, you can place the text boxes over the table in any arrangement you like. Be sure to turn off Object Causes Wrap in the Wrap Inspector.
Here is an example of a single table across two pages with other text on the page:
The formula in the cell displaying 500 is =B1 * 100
On the other hand, I agree that the feature of linking to sister tables would be a nice enhancement and I encourage you to submit the idea vie Pages > Feedback > Enhancement Request.

I'm new to Pages 2 but already like how it feels when I use it. I'm only doing text documents for the moment.
So, here is my question: Can Pages link 2 sentences ?
For example, I am writing documents that need to have the same title on different pages (e.g., pages 1 and 2). I would like Pages to automatically change the title on page 2 when I do it on page 1.
I was thinking to use Placeholder text but I can't find a trick that would do it.
Any help appreciated,

However, in my case, I don't think that the header trick won't work.
The idea is that the first page is a summary of the whole document that contains the list of chapters (within the main text).
The following pages contain the full text that is divided into chapters. Each chapter begins with its own title that was first listed on page 1.
I would like to only change a given title on the first page and that the corresponding one found somewhere else in the document (in the main text and not in the header) update automatically.
Dennis, I had a look at master object in the Pages Help but couldn't make sense of it for my problem. Any hint ?

Do you mean cross-references? You can do those, but they are known to be "fragile" and unreliable.

The only links supported in Pages v5 (any release) are email, and web links. Pages '09, the predecessor to Pages v5, supported web, email, intra-document links (bookmarks), and extra-document links to other Pages '09 documents. Neither supports a link back to storage resident applications.

Is your document a PDF?
Did you have it open in Reader or Acrobat Prod?
Can you log into https://files.acrobat.com/ and search for your document?
If your document is a PDF, you can open it in Adobe Reader and you can send the file using Adobe SendNow
Select 'Tools' from the top bar
In the right hand panel select 'Send Files'
Click on 'Sign In' - you will be prompeted to enter your Adobe ID and password
Enter an email address into the To field
Option: Fille out the Subject and Message fields
Select Send Link button
