Documents open 100% default = 200%

When I open my documents in Pages they open with size of 100%   I have set default zoom to 200% but that doesn't seem to work? It does work on my macbook but not on my iMac.  Botha running same version of Mac OS and Pages.
Suggestions Please.
Thanks in advance

Ok. I have found an answer from a community post in 2010. The solution is not from inside Pages, but rather from the terminal command line. I just performed this and my new Pages documents now open at 200%. Pages is pre-configured within the Application bundle to choose 1.25 or 125%.
Type Shift+Command+U. Double click on the Terminal application. Triple-click on the following command, copy, and then paste it into the open Terminal window. Hit return. Your Pages '09 v4.2 documents will now default to 200%. If you want it back to 125%, substitute 1.25.
Code:
defaults write com.apple.iWork.Pages SLDefaultsPageScale 2.00

  • Target Document open in new window DEFAULT?

    Hello,
I am working with a 50+ page document, each page has a TON of links, some shoot to websites, other pages in the document and finally... launches new PDFs on the DVD (to specific pages).
My question is this: I am going through Acrobat and modifing all the buttons that launch other PDFs. After I set the link, i have to modifiy that link to have the document "Open in: New Window"
Is there a way to automate that? Set that option to be default? This would cut a ton of time out.
    Thanks in advance!

It doesn't happen that way here. A new instance is always opened when I invoke from the run box.

  • Acrobat X: Can you make 'open' the default option when opening sharepoint documents?

When you open a sharepoint document with acrobat X, you get the pop-up screen asking you how you want to access the file. The option are 'check out and open', or just 'open'.
Is it possible to make 'open' the default access methode, so that you don't have to click on the pop-up for every document?

    Hi Deedee,
No, it's not really possible to set this default.
That said, there's a registry key setting you can change to disable the SharePoint integration feature though.
    They key is:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\(product name)\(version)\FeatureLockdown\cSharePoint
Summary: Disables the SharePoint integration features.
Details:  Controlls the application's ability to detect that a file came from a Sharepoint server, disables the check-out prompt, and removes the SharePoint specific menu items. Possible values include:
0: Disable the SharePoint integration features.
1: Same as "null." Don't disable the SharePoint integration features.
This may not really fit your need though.

  • IWorks documents open new iWork 10 applications by default

Because of the known issues of the new iWork 10 suite I would like to have the old Pages, Numbers and Keynote applications as standard programs which are opened when a document is doubleclicked. When I open the info window of a e.g. Pages document, change the default program to the old Pages and click on "Change all …" the default application settings jumps back to the new Pages version. It seems to me that Apple tries to force us to the new feature-cutted iWorks suite.
I tried to cheat with the preference panel "RCDefaults" but it does not help. Is there a more powerful brute force terminal command to make the iWorks 9 suite to the default?
Oh, deleting the new programs would be the best solution. I don't need them. But they are automatically re-installed. They update themselves even when they already installed.

iWork '09 was the year not the version.
No point making up names, it only confuses the issue. It has a name and a version. Use those so everyone else knows what you are talking about.
Pages '09 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work:

  • How to make save dialog open up folder where document originates as default

    Hello
I was wondering if there is a way to make save dialog open up the folder where document originates as default. I feel Like I am wasting a lot of unnecessary time navigating through menus saving certain documents.
Example : I open an Excel document in a folder called 2009. I make some changes and then do a "save as" -- I want it to automatically bring me first to the folder where I opened it, not the last place where I saved to.
I recall being able to set this preference in macs a looong time ago. Now I can't seem to find it. Thank for your help

    Rick,
Sorry about the misgiving adresses, folders and access rights. My question is not about these three (they were just here to tell the story). You're perfectly right to say that in a local network, there's not need to complete the full IP or ".com" name of the PCs (even if it works all the same).
When I said "of course" for the perms, it was just to mean, in the same way, that it's not this kind of problems here.
My question is much more a human/mac graphic interface problem than a network problem. I want the people (as well as myself) to be able to go in a folder on the pc network with a simple click on an smb link in an email message (as they do now on an ftp or afp link).
    Thanks for the bother,

  • Adobe reader: Edit - Preferences, Categories: Documents, Open Settings - Restore last view settings when reopening documents  :: should be enabled by default

Adobe reader: Edit -> Preferences, Categories: Documents, Open Settings -> Restore last view settings when reopening documents  :: should be enabled by default as most users are not aware of this feature and have to write down their page number some where in text file or sticky notes

  • How to make a certain document open as the default in Pages?

How can I set up Pages, so that a certain document opens as the default each time I start Pages? I keep my todo list as a Pages document. When I start Pages I'd like that to open as the default instead of a new blank page. Thanks in advance.

    Jim
    +Menu > Pages > Preferences > General > For New Documents: > Use template: > Choose…+
or if you don't want a template, when the Chooser comes up, down the bottom corner are 2 buttons:
*Open Recent* and *Open an Existing File…*
But better would be drag the document to your Dock and open it direct from there.
I also recommend you look at:

It is absolutely gorgeous and as part of your desk top less intrusive to your work.

  • Hello, how can i modifie in the options, aplications, Adobe acrobat document, open with Adobe acrobat (in Firefox) instead of open with portable document format (default). Thanks

I can'T open pdf links in another page, because in options, aplications i have in Adobe acrobat documents open with portable document format (default) and i must put open with Adobe Acrobat (in firefox) default.
Where can i change the default?
    Tnaks

All you now have to do is use that variable to the value property of your text field... So add this at the end of your code:
    this.getField("Conference_Option").value = ConferenceOpportunity;
Also, I would use MouseUp, not MouseDown.

  • Creating a new "Link to a Document" opens Word document or upload document dialog - plus more!

The Link to Document content type seems to be corrupted at root. When I attempt to create a new Link, either Word opens with a blank document or the "Upload" document dialog opens. It's been changing as I investigate.
One things I've noticed is that the "Link to a Document" Content Type on the parent site collection now shows it's parent as Document. this explains why the Word document opens, but not why the Upload dialog does.
While writing this question, I decided to check further and it seems that the other document types, Audio, Video etc.  all now have Document as the parent and are opening a blank Word document.
Has anyone seen this behavior? How do I fix this?
    This is on SharePoint 2010.
    Thanks in advance.

    Barry Cohen

Well, I spoke too soon. The process worked for all the custom content types, but the default Document type was still messed up. I probably should have fixed that one first, but...
Anyhow, the Document type had no template going to the Upload File dialog rather than the blank Word document it's supposed to go to. I followed the same procedure I'd followed for the other content types, checking what worked on another site and using that
template which in this case was a blank field:
So, I went opened Document, Document Content Type and went to advanced settings. The template field was empty, which matched the working site, so thinking that if I saved, it would match up with the working site. I saved the Document content type and when
after several minutes the save failed with an incredibly long list of locations where that were being perceived as "read only" plus several hidden content types that were listed as sealed. This snapshot shows a few of they many pages of content types. (I poorly
    struck through confidential info):
Besides this gigantic error, which would require going to hundreds of locations on the site to change read access settings, which are, as far as I can tell actually not "read only" or are inaccessible, such as the hidden "System Page Layout' and so forth
which shouldn't be based upon the default document type anyway and therefor not fixable, I need to understand why this is happening and what to do about it. I don't want to spend the next two days going over all of these libaries and content types and ending
up back where I started with all the content types still screwed up. Afterall, I've spent about a day creating all these custom Content Types only to have the default Document content type loose its settings and corrupting everything and another day fixing
it and having it happen again.
This is a highly unacceptable behavior on the part of SharePoint and I would really like to fix this.
    Help is sorely needed.
    Thanks in advance

  • Word 2008 crashes when I have several documents open

I'm running word 2008, and whenever I have multiple documents open (some large) word seems to crash randomly after a while. I can open a bunch of documents, work with them, then leave the computer. When I come back and click on a document window, it'll crash usually. I checked system logs and it shows this:

One solution to your present issue is to consider NeoOffice or OpenOffice, either of which are nearly 100% MS compatible and do not suffer from these Word/Office-related issues that many MS Office/Mac users seem to have.
Neo and Open Office are fully Leopard compatible and I have never had any issues with them. I use them on PCs and Macs. They are free downloads.

  • I hate this, now all pdf documents open with Adobe reader x

Until recently all pdf documents opened nicely with Adobe Acrobat which was installed with the creative suite CS5. Recently I had to update the Acrobat plugin for Firefox and I don't know what exactly was installed but somehow I ended up with Adobe Reader x on my computer and now when I open pdf documents from my hard drive they all open with an Adobe reader which I hate. How that reader managed to install and change my experience without me noticing? Now I have to change file associations. Do I need this reader and what is it for when I have a full version of Acrobat?
I will greatly appreciate your help.

Unfortunately, once Reader is installed, uninstalling it will require you to repair your Acrobat installation. You should be able to right click on a PDF and select Open With and set Acrobat as the default. Also, be sure that Reader is not part of the startup of Windows (you can use Start>Run>msconfig to check that) and also open current tasks (ctrl-alt-del) and be sure AcroRd32 or similar file is not running in the background. Be aware that AcroTray is part of Acrobat and is needed for PDF creation.

  • Documents open in reader XI, then go blank after 8 seconds. whether in IE 11, desktop file, or email

Documents open in reader XI, then go blank after 8 seconds. whether in IE 11, desktop file, or email. This happens at home or at work.  I would expect that this is a common problem with a simple (to other eyes) answer

    Mystery solved.
My .pdf files had been defaulting to Acrobat to open.  I just designated Reader as the default for opening .pdf, and am now able to open those files normally.
Apparently, I installed Acrobat but had not yet confirmed my subscription.  The installation automatically made Acrobat the default for opening .pdf files, then wouldn't allow documents to be displayed for more than a few seconds before closing itself.  I assume that will no longer be the case once the bill is paid.
    Thanks for your responses, Pat.

  • Open the default Colour Swatches

    Hi All,
How do I open the default Gradient Swatch from C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS5\Presets\en_GB\Swatches\Gradients? Everytime I open the new document, it is nothing under the Swatches. Pls help and adv. Thank you.

The color swatch presets are actually saved within the default document profiles(see below for location on mac-similar on pc). Edit and save these files. When you make new document choose the appropriate profile you edited.

    Hi MIXAYA,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  In OS X, by default apps will open with any previously opened documents opening as well.  To disable this feature, select "Close windows when quitting an application" from System Preferences > General.  To learn more, see this article:
    OS X Mavericks: General preferences
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph13803
Close windows when quitting an application
If you quit apps with windows still open on your screen, selecting this checkbox prevents the windows from reopening automatically the next time you start their app.

  • Spry panel - the first panel opens by default on entering the site

The first panel is open on default, I can close it, and access the others, but whenever i go there for the first time, its open.  I want vistors to see the front page with all three panels closed.   http://www.diocesanministriesfund.org
Also, not a big deal, but when you close one of the panels and return to the index page, it seems like the whole page gets stuck for a second and then renders.
Any help is appreciated, as always, Mary

    Hi Mary
In this line near the bottom of your document you have
    var SpryAccordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("SpryAccordion1", {useFixedPanelHeights:false, defaultPanel:0});
This is where you have told the accordion to open the first panel. If you want all panel closed then make the default panel a non-existing panel as in
    var SpryAccordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("SpryAccordion1", {useFixedPanelHeights:false, defaultPanel:-1});
