Documents printing in French, need script to default to English

Hello all, since I selected a Canadian demo database, whenever I print marketing documents, they come out in French. I was wondering if there was a script to automatically default PLD documents to English instead.
Thanks in advance,
Lazar

Hi Lazar..........
Apart from standard setting of Language in the General Setting there are  some more settings at PLD level.
So please check whether you have set the correct language in Print Layout Designer or not.
You can set this language by following steps......
Open the document window for which you want to set the printer as per print layout and Go to Tools and Layout Designer.
This will open the report and Layout Manager.
Now you can see the Layout you take a preview and just select that and press edit button.
This will open Layout Design and there right click on design and go to Properties and there you can see the Language selected in Dropdown under General Tab. Just the right language here and then save PLD and then preview and give Print.......
Hope this will resolve your Issue..........
Regards,
Rahul

  • "AcroRd32.exe  /t" print a PDF document ( print only, no need to open )

I'm using the following command to print a PDF document:
    "D:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /t "D:\R104-20071025165656.pdf" "\\192.168.0.4\hp" "hp LaserJet 1000" "\\192.168.0.4\hp"

    So anybody can help me?

  • PM Scripts: how to get into "Document setup" - "Compose to printer"option using PageMaker scripts?

    Hi
I wonder if there is any way to set appropriate printer in "Document setup" -> "Compose to printer" option using PageMaker scripts.
Going through the PageMaker Script Guide I couldn't find such functionality.
    I will appreciate your help
    /Joanna

This is what you need: http://www.amazon.com/Pagemaker-Scripting-Guide-Desktop-Automation/dp/tech-data/1568303181
If the script is not in that book, then it doesn't exist.
There used to be PDF version, but I can't find it.

    Try resetting the printing system.
    1. Open System Preferences > Print & Fax
    2. Move your mouse over the Printers list
    3. Hold down the Control button and click the mouse
    4. Click the "Reset printing system ..." popup
    5. Restart your Mac
This will remove your print queues but not your printer drivers. So you will only need to add your printer queues again.

    Hi,
Try saving your settings as a Preset by clicking the Preset drop down and then select Save Current Settings as a Preset.
Next try changing the settings by selecting the saved preset.
That allow saving the settings for a specific printer, I assume it may also allow selecting these settings for another printer.

Right, so to advise you we'd need to know the particulars of MagCloud's spec for your project; format, trim size, bleed, etc.
It's doubtful that anything happened "when uploading for printing," so long as you were uploading a PDF, as opposed to the native InDesign file. Did the PDF look right to you before uploading?

  • When I click SAVE PDF i need to get default dynamic name to save the PDF document.

    Hi All,
When I click SAVE PDF option I need to get default dynamic name. In my case lets say Sales Order Number.pdf.
    Thanks,
    SP.

    Hi,
I have created SAP Abobe Form for Patient Order.
So when we execute we will see output as a PDF. If I want to save the PDF From, and click on the SAVE button, by default it comes up with my SAP FORM name, which I don’t want.
What I want is when I click SAVE button by default it should come up with the Patient Number on the PDF Form, so that i can directely save without changing the name.
For Example if I view the 101010 Patient Number then i should save the pdf from by 101010.pdf, same way if i view 202020 Patient number then i should save the pdf form by 202020.pdf.
Please let us know is this possible.
    Thanks,

Check SAP Note 894444 - Tool for server-based printing on Windows (SAPSprint) for your requirement,
      Installation
Before you install SAPSprint, delete SAPLPD manually. To do this, you normally need to completely delete the installation directory only. If you installed SAPLPD as a service using the srvany tool, you can remove the service by calling 'Instsrv SAPLPD remove'.
You can download SAPSprint as a self-extracting executable file from SAP Service Marketplace:
    1. Entry by Application Group (on the left)
    2. SAP Frontend Components (on the right)
    3. SAPSPRINT (on the right)
    4. SAPSPRINT <Release> (on the right)
    5. SAPSPRINT <Release> (on the right)
    6. Win32 (on the right)
Start the program. After you enter the installation path, the system prompts you to enter the TCP/IP port.
Normally, the default setting of 515 is suitable for the port. You should only change this setting if the Windows TCP/IP print service is also running on the computer. The SAPSprint Windows service starts as soon as the installation is over.
We recommend that you set up the following options for the service in the Windows Service Control Manager:
The service should run under a domain user that has the relevant authorizations for the required printers. After the installation, the service runs under "Local system account". This can access locally-defined printers only. You can set the user in the Windows Service Control Manager, in the options of the SAPSprint service.
If you want to delete SAPSprint, you can do so using the normal Windows uninstall tool.
We recommend that you install the SAPSprint service on a separate computer and not together with a SAP system, especially if you use a large number of printers. All printers that SAPSprint uses must be installed on the SAPSprint computer. This applies particularly to released printers from other computers. These should be installed as a queue on the SAPSprint server.
Also note further settings in accordance with Note 1069483.
    Settings
You can display the call parameters available for SAPSprint by calling 'sapsprint -?' on the command line. The most important parameters are those that set options, especially log options for troubleshooting.
You can set the log level to 5 by specifying 'sapsprint -oi LogLevel 5'. Immediately after installation, no log level is set up, which means that no log file is created. By setting the log level to 1, 5, or 9, you can ensure that more information is available in the directory that you specified during the installation. A file called sapsprint.dbg and a print job specific file with a variable name are generated. The second file is deleted after successful printing. It is only retained if the printout is recognized as incorrect. If you set the option 'sapsprint -oi KeepFile 1', then both this file and the print file are retained. This is primarily intended for troubleshooting by SAP Support.
All options are case-sensitive. You can display the most important SAPSprint options by calling 'sapsprint -?'. All possible options are described in Note 85469. Normally, the options described there are not necessary - you should use them only in exceptional circumstances.

  • Need script to place multiple single page pdfs in ID pages

Does anyone know of a script that would place a whole folder full of single page pdf files into an indesign document one per page, alphabetically by pdf file name, and ideally add new pages as needed. The last part is optional, as the ID document could already have the required number of pages, all using the same master page with the the picture frame already in place.
In my current project, the pdfs are all the same size as the ID document page size.
This would be along the lines of the scripts that place multipage pdfs, but for single page ones. I have tried first creating a multipage pdf by inserting a folder full of single page pdfs at the end of an initial pdf. Acrobat 8 pro does this very well indeed, but selects the pages from the source folder in random order. I need them in alphabetical order.
    Thanks for any insight,
    Al

For this project I could equally well use a script that would place or re link to a new pdf in a single page ID document, print device independent postscript with some sort of unique or sequential filename, and repeat the process for a whole folder of source pdf files. No new pages need to be added, and the new pdf could replace the prior one.
What I am after is a device independent ps file for these pdf files. The ones produced by batch processing from Acrobat 8 Pro do not offer enough control, as in that method I would need *only* the black separation.
    Thanks,
    Al

  • Can Reader pick up the Default Page Size of a printer that is not the Windows Default Printer?

We have a web based application that generates PDF documents via Crystal Reports.
We are using Adobe Reader 8
The PDF pages are displayed within an Internet Explorer window where the the users then print the document.
The application is designed so the user only gets one chance to print the document (ie they cant come back and change printer settings if they happen to print the document out incorrectly)
The document needs to be printed on A3 paper, full duplex.
We have a printer set-up decidated to the printing of the documents generated by this application.  The default page size of this printer is set of A3.
If we set this dedicated printer as the Windows Default Printer we have no problems at all.  The default page size (A3) is picked up and the document is printed correctly.
If any other printer is set as the Windows Default Printer (eg one that has a default page size of A4), the users must obviously select the correct printer from the Print Dialogue Box -however when the user selects the dedicated A3 printer, the page size remains as A4 (page size of the Windows Default Printer).  This means the user must remember to change the paper size to A3 each time.
Out users find IT a struggle at the best of times - anything that makes the process simpler is very welcomed!
Is there a way to ensure the default page size of the printer is respected when that printer is not the Windows Default Printer?
    Thanks!

    No.

  • Document printing ignoring posting date range

I am in Banking/Document Printing and selected my bank account,
doc type = checks for payment,
print checks = to be printed.
    Posting date from/to fields = 2/1/09 - 2/28/09.
I click the OK button and the results show me 2 checks with 3/13/09 posting dates.  I only have these 2 checks iin my test db, but I was testing the february date range to verify it would exclude them from the results as it should.
Why are my 2 march checks showing in the results when my posting dates are only for February?

This date has not relation to your posting date.
The 03/13 is the check date.  Your transactions are still from your February date range.
You created the checks today and a check needs to have a date on it and this 03/13 is the date that will be printed on the check
By default the date you process the checks will be the date check date.
Posting Date is nothing but the date the transaction / JE is posted on.

  • Document printing - differrent layout

    Hi,
We have developed in PLD an Invoice and a Quotation.
    1. Invoice - in PLD Document Properties, the Format is A5.
    2. Quotation - in PLD Document Properties, the Format is A4.
In SAP screen, File--> Page Set up, the page is A4.
When we print the Invoice, SAP is printing out in A4 format. We have
refer to note 1030589, and thought that it is the PLD should have
    overwritten the default Page setting.
Could you please advise how we could print different format in SAP? Is
    this a design restriction?

    Hi,
Just got a reply from SAP support, in case anyone is interested.
    (Question raised)
If I understand you correctly, does that mean:
    - although I have set different paper size on Print Layout designer, SAP
will ignore it. The page format in Print Layout does not take effect.
    - Every time when I need to print A4, I need to go to Page Set up to make
sure A4 is selected. When I need to print document in A5, I need to go to
Page set up to make sure A5 is selected.
    (Answer from Support)
Yes, for the paper format the settings are to be done in this way.
As the system will always take the paper size which has been set as
    default for the printer.

  • Selective Document Printing

    Hello All!
I wonder if there are any plans on adding a feature to the new SAP upgrade which would allow selective document printing.
What I mean is it would be great, when printing a batch of AR Invoices for example, to be able to select not only a date range and/or a document range but also some other fields like a sales employee or a particular customer, etc.
    Thank you,
    Michael
