Documents To Go 3.0.0.21 Problems on 9780 ...0.706

I am using a Bold 9780 curr. OS 6.0.0.706, I have downloaded Documents to go, but rather than launch it says net_rim_api sendmenu not found. Any sugestions??

Hi.. Welcome to the Palm forums. It looks like you have the answer so lets see if I can help you understand the directions. First it is saying you need to download the dataviz tech tool to your computer and then double click on the dataviztech.prc file to put it into the installer then when you sync it should be installed on your device. You use the dataviztech application on the device to uninstall and then do a soft reset.
Then look at your home screen on your device and you should see a documents application since yours is part of the rom and determine the version which should be 8 in your case.
Now go to the section entitled "If you DO see the Documents application:"
You now need to determine the version of documents to go on your computer, it should be 10 since that is what your upgrading to providing it is properly installed to the computer. If it is not 10 then you need to download and install 10 on your computer (the upgrade). Follow the on screen prompts to install and then hotsync which should update the device to 10.
Hopefully this will help you better understand the process. If you are still having problems it would be best to contact the dataviz tech support team for further help.

Specifying pdf document's name in browser - content-disposition problem

I want to open a PDF document in browser, which needs to have a specified filename when user tries to save it.
My web app sends an "application/pdf" document back to the browser.
I use the Content-Disposition HTTP header to instruct the browser to open the document inline, i.e. using the appropriate plugin, which is Adobe PDF in this case. When the user clicks Save As..., the document filename needs to be the one specified by the same HTTP header. Here is the code:

I tried Adobe 7.0 and 8.1.2.

Needless to say I tried opening the document in IE, FF and Chrome, and neither worked.
I had a look at the code at your web site, and saw that you were serving files for direct download: Content-Dispositoin:attachment... .
This works fine for me too, and the filename is recognized correctly in that case. The problem is, I want to display the PDF inline...
My server is not configured for URL rewriting, and I would be probably quite some problem to make this app work with it, so the /filename.pdf is not an option for me.

IWork documents don't move to iCloud/syncing problem

I was creating the document in Numbers and wanted to share it. After I tried to share (iCloud link), it gaves me a message: This spreadsheet is still being moved to iCloud. Wait for the move to complete, then try sharing again... Then I checked my other docs and it hasn't been syncing the documents for last 3-4 days. It seems, that something happened last update 10.9.2... I remember having the same problem after installing Mavericks for a first time. Then I foun solution in internet... I had to delete some file in Library/ ... but I can't remember it anymore and I cant find the asnwer anymore...please ... help...

Several users have found that going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings fixes this issue.

Open pdf says "please fill out the following form" when I attempt to apply redactions, I get an error message. How do I "turn off" the form portion of the document? I assume that is the problem since I have not had this issue with any of the other files

I am attempting to redact a large pdf file. When I open the file, it has a bar across the top with the message "please fill out the following form". I can mark redactions, but when I attempt to apply them I get a message saying, "In order to proceed Digital Signatures must be removed and the document must be fully authorized. Do you want to make these changes and continue?" I click "ok". Then I get a message saying, "an internal error occurred." How do I get around this problem?

You cannot redact a signed document. This is because one of the things signatures guarantee is access to the OLDER document (i.e. there will be an unredacted copy in there).
In general you cannot remove signatures, but sometimes you can. Look under the Signatures tab (right click on left vertical bar if there isn't one) to see if it is removable.

Large Word document imported into Pages with "Section Break Problems"

Hi there,
I am importing a large Word document with many photos (>250 pages) into Pages. Now, the problem is that when using the "page thumbnail" window to the left it marks all my windows with a yellow border.
This means that I can't duplicate single pages - it will duplicate the whole stuff. Same thing for delete.
I can go to the last character of each page and insert a "section break". This creates single pages. But it seems a bit odd to me, and with >250 pages, this is quite some work too.
Any idea what I can do to solve quickly the issue?

Sections are what they say they are natural breaks in the document.
Each section usually having headers footers and other basic content in common.
Effectively just like chapters in a book or specifically designed pages in a magazine or report.
If your text naturally flows from one page to the next then they should stick together.
If on the other hand you are treating them all like single leaves of paper to be shuffled around, then you need a section break at the end of each page.
3 ways you can quickly do this:
1. There is a unique start to each page such as a return followed by a particular word. You can search on this combination replacing it with a section break followed by the word.
2. You can make a short cut to do this from the keyboard
3. You can copy a section break and paste it at the end of each preceding page.
4. You can transfer by copying and pasting the content into a Layout mode document where every page is its own section.
As with most work, planning, organisation and thinking before you leap, pays off in the long run.

Document Composer ES 2.5: PDF Plugin Problem?

Hi, I got a screenshot from a colleague of me showing his UI of the Document Composer. I have never seen such a behaviour of the PDF plugin part It looks like that the plugin is not loaded correctly, but I have never seen such a "cross" for it. Any ideas, what could have happened here?

as it turned out, there is a setting in IE where you can enable/disable ActiveX plugins. I do NOT refer to the overall ActiveX settings, but the "Manage AddOns" option in the settings dialog. There, each specific addon can be disabled/enabled separately. With some versions of Reader 9 there seemed to be a problem that (for unknown reasons) the Reader plugin was in a disabled state. Maybe you can check that?

Can't access a document on pages, anyone else having this problem today?

I tried to access my novel on pages today and I am getting the following error code: The operation couldn’t be completed. (LibrarianErrorDomain error 1 - Unable to initiate item download.) Is this happening to anyone else? Is this an iCloud issue? Thanks

Found the problem, I previously accessed the same doc on my macbook, i guess it didn;t update to the server, so i went back to my macbook and was able to access the doc. saved it and went back to my mac and all was well and up to date

I need to finish a presentation asap! i have to add one more document (already created) to two others. the problem is orientation. 2 are already in portrait. The one I have to add is landscape. Is there a way to fix this?

When you create a form with Adobe Designer, and you need mixed page orientation (i.e. some portrait and some landscape) you can achieve this using multiple Master pages.
I took your two forms and created a sample (see attached) with mixed orientation.
Here is what you do to get mixed orientation...
Create a new form
Add a Master Page (with the Master Page tab active, select Insert > New Master Page
Select the second Master Page and set the orientation to landscape (Object > Master Page tab)
Select the Design View tab
Add a new page Page (with the Design View tab active, select Insert > New Page)
To associate the new page with the second (landscape) Master Page...
Select the new page (from the Heirarchy palette)
In the Object > Pagination palette set the "place" property by browsing where you want it (i.e. On Page "insert name of your landscape master page here")
Note: you will need to resize the content are of the page to match the landscape orientation.

PDF failure in 98 page document, page 14 seems to be the problem

Please take a look at the above print screen. It's seems to be that there is something wrong with one of the pages, which makes PDF export fail. I've narrowed it down to page 14. The rest of the pages do export to PDF. When I try to remove object from this page, Indesign crashes. I also created 2 new pages and pasted all the objects into these new pages, then removed the old ones, and there it was again, this blank space on the left. There are no objects on the left of this page, although you might think there are, looking at the print screen.
Does anyone have a solution? I am really running out of options...

I think I found it, thanks to the 'layer' answer from Peter.
On page 14 and 15, I went through the list of layers and found 2 objects (at the bottom, of course) that should not be there. Turning visibility off and on didn't change anything so I still didn't know where the objects were. Because I could only select objects on these 2 pages with the Direct selection tool or Text tool, I couldn't find it before. In the layers I found these objects, selected them, but still didn't see them. When zooming out and in, zooming in took me to page 1. Which is strange, because when you have selected an object on a page, zooming in usually takes you to the center of the selected object.
In the picture below you can see that the object size was set to infinity mm. I deleted the objects and the result is GOOD!

Whatsapp Problems [Bold 9780]

whats app will not work on my blackberry bold 9780, it will only let me open it when once when i first install it, i get to the first stage where it wants me to enter my number, when i do enter my number and try and go to the next step it will say awating network, and will not move from that stage, ive had whatsapp open for 2 days now and it still says the same thing.
is there anythink i can do about this?

The file .docx cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents in sharepoint document library

I created a site and created a document libarary and assigned a word document as a content type . I have written a workflow to create a new document . The workflow is working fine and all the document is getting created and values are getting stored
in it .
As per my requirement I am saving the above site as site template .
After that I am creating a new site based on the above site template , Its getting created and I started the workflow , its working fine and the document is also getting created .
The problem is I am getting error while opening the word document
Error - The file filename.docx cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents .
Details - No error details availble .

What are you doing within the txt document? Is it general text and string based items, or have you something more elaborate going on?

Problem in converting word to html- file get error msg 'This command is not available because no document is open'

I write the some asp code to save the word file from client machine to server machine , and convert it into the html file.
it working fine when i debug the code into the visual studio but when i deploy code on iis it give me a error 'This command is not available because no document is open' , while i try to save file into html format.
lot of time i try this give all the security full access to iis user and other things .
can any one help me. i fully frustrated from this problem.
my need only upload the word document from client to server machine and convert it into the word document.
only IIS give me the problem, suggest me what setting i need to do in iis

Problem downloading any pdf document

When I try to download any file ending in .pdf in IE7 the tab freezes.
e.g. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/pdfs/pdfaccess.pdf
The status line says done but nothing downloads.
I cannot download in Mozella Firefox either.
I can read pdf documents from files on my computer without problem.
The pdf downloads without problem on a friend's PC.
I am using Windows XP Home OS amd Adobe Reader 9.

We are creating reports with Crystal Report for .Net. We both have a Windows and a Web application connecting to our database. The problem occurs only with the Windows application. We create a report and in the dialog that appears, we choose to export the report in MS Word format. Everythinglooks fine because after we save the document, MS Word is able to open and display the document. However, when we decide to add this Word document in the database in a table that has a image column bound to a full-text indexing schema, that document is never indexed. After fiddling around for a few hours, we realized that the Word document produced during the export is not a true Word document but rather a RTF document that was given a ".doc" extension. Is there a way to have a real Word document when exporting in Windows. The problem does not arise in Web because when we export, the report is displayed in Internet Explorer through the Office plugin. The Office plugin knows how to same a real Word document.
There is also a problem when exporting to Excel in Windows. It does not yield the same structure as in Web. The format of the export in Windows is not compatible with the Office IFilter of SQL Server 2000/2005, therefore the content is not available for search queries.
Any patches to fix this problem?
