Documentum Development... where to start from ???

There is something called Documentum ... What is it ... in fact How is that related to Java where are its roots in Java.. ?

I really apologize for, if a single bit of my
query/reply anyhing might have had hurt any one.Nobody got hurt!
>
I never meant someone to narrate me the tutorial on
this... That is not how it came across. If an answer to a question cannot be given in about half a page then the chances are that the question is too broad. Your question seemed to me to be wanting much much more than half a page.
just asked for if any one tell me any link
for the stuff I am looking for. As simply searching
goole does gives a lot of things and then from them
trying to make out what is relevent (of course for
me) is not a easy task, especially when I already
said I am greek to it, so infact I don't know even
what is of use for me at this stage. Documentum will be able to point you at the best documentation.
>
Anyways I have got 2/3 links and w'll try to make out
somethings form that...You might still do better to contact Documentum.
>
Actually there's a big difference between bookish
things and the real production enviornment things...
that why I thought some working professional may
better guide...Guide - possibly; but your question showed that you had little on no knowledge of Documentum and that you required some basic knowledge before you could ask for information on 'real production enviornment things' .
>
Anyway thanks... What the forums are for ? These forums are for Java related issues. If you have a problem with Java or one of it's standard libraries then there is a good chance that someone will be able to help you. If you have a problem with a third party Java library then there is a good chance that someone will be able to point you at an information source if they can't deal with it directly.
and how to
write here..!
When you have a Java related question then ask it! Don't ask questions like "Could someone tell me how to program in Java?" because that is far too broad. That sort of question requires much much more than half a page of response and is usually best answered by reading one of the many tutorials.
P.S. When I worked on Documentum it was based on C/C++ and there was no Java interface.

  • Desktop apps developing: where to start

    Hi!
I wanna develop some nifty little helpers doing common daily stuff, like checking the up time of the internet connection and displaying it anywhere on the desktop or in the gnome-panel. that's just an example. a lot of this tasks can be done with cronjobs and bash-scripts, but for graphical stuff there's somethin' else needed.
The question: Where to start? I know, a forum search and googling brings up a lot of tutorials, but I even don't have a point where to start, which programming language is best for apps like this.
And no, I'm not looking for general programming tutorials.
    Thanks in advice!

Well there's plethora of ways you can do build desktop apps. The language is mostly irrelevant nowadays, choose whichever you prefer, C, C++, C#, python, perl, tcl. You may start with deciding on language and possibly toolkint you would wish to use. Some hints, using C you have GTK as your primary toolking, then goes GNUstep thing, Xlib as an option if you need sort of hackish feeling, Motif if you have access to libraries and some ancient Unix system. If you would prefer C++, there's Qt (excellent documentation on http://doc.trolltech.com) and GTKmm.  I personally prefer Qt since it's easy, intuitive and is a base of KDE.
You may end up using python which, surprisingly,  seems to be preferred by most of people on the forums. If so then pygtk or pyqt is a must.
I would discourage from using horrid toolkits like wxWidgets, no fun at all.
Other thing for desktop apps would be inter-app communication and sharing common functionality, which is handled by Kparts & DCOP for KDE3, and (correct me if I'm wrong) bonobo - a CORBA-like thing for gnome (?).
For KDE these will be useful:
    http://developer.kde.org/documentation/
    API reference
    http://developer.kde.org/documentation/library/
Both Qt and GTKmm have nice tutorial which help you get started quite easily.
However if you would like to write conky like stuff, then unfortunately Xlib is the way:

Some common desktop standards (system tray, iccm window manager etc.) are provided here:

No, you don't need to learn basic programming before diving
    into
PHP/MySQL. Dreamweaver will do much of the code generation
    for you, but
it is important to have a general understanding of how PHP
    works so that
you can customize the code to suit your own needs better.
If you're looking for a book, one you should consider is
    mine,
"Foundation PHP for Dreamweaver 8". Naturally, I think it's
    the best
thing since sliced bread, but a lot of other people seem to
    like it
(read the reviews on Amazon). The book assumes no prior
    knowledge of
PHP, and gives you a basic grounding in the language before
    showing you
how to use all the Dreamweaver server behaviors. It also
    shows you how
to build some simple server behaviors of your own. More

  • CRM middleware development where to start

    Hello,
I am new to CRM and trying to bring the data create/bring the data from ERP <==>CRM back and forth.
Currently it is not possible to find a document which can guide to what needs to be done in the ERP/ECC and what needs to be done in CRM from the development point of view in order to create a middleware for a 'Z' object.
    Can anyone guide me please?
    Thanks
    Jaffery

    Hello Jaffery,
Is ERP and CRM are connected already? Have you created a site in CRM for ERP.
and also check ERP table CRMRFCPAR .
If both the systems are connected, then first you need to download BASIS object first.
    DNL_CUST_BASIS*
And start downloading the customizing object first and then business objects.
To know more about objects you can check txn:R3AC1 and R3AC3 of CRM.
For eg: In order to download materials,
    DNL_CUST_BASIS*
    DNL_CUST_PROD*
    MATERIAL
is the sequence of download (txn:R3AS of CRM)
    Hope this helps!
    Best Regards,
    Shanthala Kudva.

  • Where to start from

how do we start develooping applications using JAVA micro edition ?
Which is the good book for that ?

If I were you, I'd start at http://wireless.java.sun.com
As far as books go, I'd go to amazon.com and search on J2ME. Personally, I've found that they tend to all be the same, just who has the best samples.

  • Starting from Scratch Assistance

    Hello,
I just installed the trial version of Captivate to see if the
program would meet my needs. Although I have a lot of experiance
with other Adobe products like Dreamweaver, InDesign, Fireworks,
etc, I seem to be at a total loss for how get started with
Captivate. I'm a quick learner, but I just don't know the right
    direction to get going.
I'm working on creating a cd that has information for a
    training program.
This is what I'm looking to do (at least for starters).
    1. I want some sort of splash opening screen when they start
    the program.
    2. A basic menu of 5-6 topics with some sort of drop down
menu or link to another page for each that contains additional
    information about each topic.
    3. The information in the topics is basically just text and
    some simple graphics.
    4. A link to a video or two that would be activated by
clicking a button on the main menu.
From what I've seen of Captivate searching around the web and
on this site I don't think any of these are too complicated. I've
looked over several of the tips and tricks links that have been
suggested by many on this forum, but I just can't figure out where
    to start from.
I really do appreciate any "getting started" tips you can
    give me for this project.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi tothebeat
I'll give it a shot. First, some background.
A great many folks use Captivate to record the process of
using an application. As such, they start Captivate, then begin the
recording process. They stop recording, then edit or embellish what
    they have recorded.
From what you have described, I might suggest that you begin
with a blank slate. So within Captivate, you would click File >
Record or create a new project... This should display the New
Project Options dialog. From there, you should see three icons in
an area labeled "Select". Click the bottom option. It should be
labeled "Other". When you do this, the area to the right should
change. Choose "Blank Project" and click OK. When you do this, you
should be prompted for the size of the blank project. Choose your
size (I heartily recommend NOT using anything remotely resembling
"Full Screen". Personally, my own "sweet spot" for the project
dimensions is 640x480.) After you click OK, Captivate should open
and display your blank project. From there, you simply click the
Edit tab and begin adding content.
As for adding elements, I might suggest that before trying
this, you click Help > Getting Started Tutorials and spend some
time watching each tutorial. I think it would be time well spent
with getting acquainted with the application. Once you do this,
begin the real work. If you get stuck on anything specific, come
back here and give us a shout and we'll be more than happy to
    assist.
    Cheers... Rick

I came across information that Firefox has turned off the development for Windows 64-bit.
That is incorrect. There is a plan to stop producing 64-bit nightly builds, which are tests versions of Firefox.
You are using the release version of Firefox, which is 32-bit, and will continue working unaffected by the aforementioned change. 32-bit programs work without a hitch under 64-bit Windows. The default Start Menu shortcut for Internet Explorer points to the 32-bit version, and Firefox's main competitor Chrome is also available only in a 32-bit variety.
Even if you were using the 64-bit test version — and you aren't — the plan is to silently move testers to the 32-bit version, so as long as you have automatic updates enabled, you wouldn't have to do anything.
Technical details about 64-bit builds can be found below.

  • From where to start android programming ?

the question pretty much explains it. i have almost completed java programming. i have completed half of java essential classes from oracle java tutorials but what i mean is which ide should i download and from where should i learn it. for java programming i have been using netbeans and i think it also supports android programming. any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would start from here: https://developer.android.com/training/index.html
This is where I started 2-3 years ago, when Eclipse was the preferred (only?) IDE.
I have no idea if they still base the tutorials on Eclipse only, but if it is so, I would not mind learning another IDE for the sake of learning Android programming.
Advice: do not get too deep into Java GUI programming, because Android does not use AWT/Swing. Most of the rest of your Java background will be very useful.

  • Where to start for becoming a Forms&Reports developer????

    Hello
I am new to Oracle and just finished tutorial that comes with db 10g xe.
I want to become a forms&reports&design developer but I don't know where to start as in Oracle website there are so many tools, etc.
Please any of you help me to put me in starting point otherwise it will be time consuming not knowing where to start.
one of the guy made a comment saying:
Oracle Forms and Reports is a bit 'old' now, and Oracle seems to be moving more towards web development with Application Express (APEX) (This comes with Oracle XE as standard). There is web development done in Forms and Reports but it looks like Oracle are moving away from these in favour of APEX.
Do you think it 's worth to pursue with oracle forms, report??
I don't want to learn something that is or soon will be out off market or absolete.
But even with APEX which tool should i start to learn \ use to become forms&reports, design developer??
Which is the best way to pursue in development sense for forms,...??
Please help me to find my starting point for that secific developement.
Please copy\past all the URL to start with.

  • I have very thin, colored lines running vertical on my desktop monitor screen.  I don't know where they come from or how to get rid of them.  I started with one and now have three.  Can anyone give me some insight about what to do in getting rid of them?

I have very thin, colored lines that have shown up on my IMac monitor screen.  I don't know where they came from or how to get rid of them.  I'm concerned now because I started with one and now have three.  Does any know why this occurs or how to get rid of them?

I got an address from Applecare, although I can't place my hand on it right now. I didn't bother persuing the letter route myself as I didn't expect much. I know that the location was Cork, Ireland though as that where the UK Applecare is based as far as I'm aware. The best thing to do is to call Applecare (if it's free) and discuss the issue. State that you are not happy wit the fact that you will have to pay to have the problem resolved especiiay if it is an ongoing problem that has not been resolved. I ended up speaking to a senior manager of the Applecare team who then proceeded to tell me about mailing in my grievence to customer services division or something like that.
If I can find the address I may post it if I'm allowed.
In the case of age, Schools usually have a 5-year life-cycle as they tend to be used differently than consumer machines, i.e. being used constantly on a daily basis for at least 12 hours with no break. you would expect issues to appear after a few years, but I expect problems that arise through defects to be resolved and stay resolved. As I mentioned we had machines for around 2 years before the lines appeared and sent them to be repaired. I'm happy with that. What I am unhappy about is the fact that the problem has reappeared exactly in the same way and now I'm left with around 7 machines that I either pay loads to repair or, the more likely replace the machines with newer ones since the age is now big enough to warrant the replacement.
Sorry for the lengthy moan, but these are the reasons I purchased Apple ahrdware in the first place to avoid the "not our problem" stance some PC vendors  usually take, similar to the Dell monitors thread mentioned in here somewhere.

  • Running iTunes from external hard drive, new computer, where to start?

I've seen several threads relating to this, but I'm a bit confused. For some time we have been running iTunes from an external hard drive with no issues. We now have a new laptop with windows 8, and I'm not sure where to start to set up iTunes (we replaced the computer with a laptop). Do I need to do a new install of iTunes on the laptop? Do I install it to the hard drive (C) or to the external drive (G)? My biggest source of concern is losing the library. I also want to be sure that we can continue to run iTunes from the external drive, I don't want it taking up space on the laptop hard drive.

With more & more people looking towards external drives as a storage solution, it's important to warn them, that although using one within iTunes is a great idea, it comes with its issues & can be a step towards a disastrous sequence. In such a scenario, each time iTunes is launched it'll look for the library that resides on the external drive, & if that drive's not connected, iTunes will open with an empty library. You know what's comming next, rite ? An empty iDevice. This happens because 'by default' iTunes is set to Auto-Sync & if you're using an external drive, the potential for a messy problem goes way up.  So in short, remember these points. when using an external drive(library).
. Always connect your external drive prior to lauching iTunes.
. Always ensure iTunes sees your external library prior to connecting your iDevice.
. Disable the 'Auto-Sync' feature from within iTunes prior to connecting your iDevice.
. Always wait to connect your iDevice until thee aforementioned points are confirmed.
As stated earlier, using an external drive with iTunes isn't a problem in & by itself. But if the external drive's disconnected & the 'Auto-Sync' feature's left at its default setting(enabled), a family member could loose all their data simply by connecting their iDevice to the PC/Mac. Or be in for a time consuming lesson.
PS: At the very least one should research the topic themselves. http://ipod.about.com/od/advanceditunesuse/a/Itunes-External-Hard-Drive.htm
