Dodgy touch screen in the sun

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone else has this problem or if it's just my particular phone?
If my phone is in my pocket and I get it out to answer a call, it takes 5-10 swipes of the answer button to actually get it across far enough to answer. Seems like the heat up the sun is affecting the touch response.
Anyone?

No screen covering that I know of, You can make a box out of cardboard that will shield the screen from the sun so you can more easily see the screen in sunlight

how can i remove pictures from my droid turbo without having to use the touch screen on the phone at all? my screen is cracked and i am waiting on a replacement phone. as far as i can tell in order to access the phone storage through my computer, i have to use the touchscreen to enable it so that the computer will see it as a camera. I can't do that as the top half of the touschscreen is unresponsive. any suggestions? teaches me to use the backup services offered in the future, but i still need a short term solution for this time.

I'm sorry to hear your screen is cracked spence425. I know its difficult to use the phone while its damaged. I'm happy you are receiving a replacement device. Have you saved any of your pictures and other data to the cloud? Here is a link about the cloud http://vz.to/1mF0GIx . Unfortunately, you will be unable to remove any data from the phone if the screen is unresponsive but if you are looking to transfer data to your new phone, it would have needed to be saved via the cloud first. Hairline crack in touch screen (not the glass) in Xperia Z1

I have a 5 month old Xperia Z1 mobile phone which has never been dropped or knocked. On removing it from a padded pocket in my bag I noticed that the touch screen under the glass has a diagonal hairline crack originating from the top centre of the phone to under the right hand corner (the external glass has no crack). Why does dragging on a Touch Screen change the cursor into a Hand Tool? This did not happen in CS 5.5 and I could edit on my touch screen monitor. With Photoshop CS 6, as soon as I start to drag, the cursor changes to a hand cursor. I have look at all of the system options and nothing seems to affect it so I have to assume it is something wrong with Photoshop CS 6.

Try staying with it for a while. It is much nicer panning that way. Give it a flick, and touch the screen again when in the right position.
I think it came in with CS4 BTW, but it makes a lot of sense keeping it on the Touch version.

How can I keep my iPod Touch cool in the sun?

So I am going on holiday at the end of this week camping abroad where it will be hot and I am planning to take my iPod touch with me so I can access my music, emails, Facebook, Twitter, Skype etc. I am slightly concerned that iPod touch will be damaged by the heat as it can get very hot in the tent and car and also on the beach in direct sun. I had a heat warning the other week from leaving it on the table in the garden in the 30 degrees sun (yes that was silly of me!) It has a Zagg screen protector and a basic black skin. It is an iPod touch 4th generation. Is there any way of protecting from sunlight and heat? Also is there an app to download that will read the iPods current temperature and what is its maximum temperature it can withstand to?

All you can do is keep it shaded and not in a unventilated space (like a car or tent) exposed to the sun.
There is no temperature app.
Hot temperatures can permently damage the iPod, especially the battery.

Through the recent launch of the Nokia Xpress Music 5800, Nokia has not only introduced the Series 60 5th edition system but has also "arrived", as far as touch-screens are concerned. Yes, there was the now old 7710 which was the only device to run on the Series 90 platform -- but how many of those are still around? Nokia seems to have silently "retired" other platforms; intent on only the S60 as of now.
It is inevitable that the Nokia communicators will soon get the touchscreen treatment as well. Indeed, at a recent webcast, Nokia dropped a teaser in the form of a touchscreen version of a future communicator bearing a strong family resemblance to the E90 and its predecessors.The device seems to be an all-touchscreen phone that converts into a Communicator when the 'pencil box' form-factor is opened.
Sadly, there is no official word from the company regarding any such device.

If my iPhone 3GS turns on but cannot use the touch screen, could the Processor be the problem?

I recently dropped my iPhone 3GS but cannot use the touch screen. I took to a local repair shop and they tried replacing the digitizer and some other items but still could not get it to work. They advised that the Processor could be the problem. Is this true? If so, can the processor be replaced without losing data? Additionally, my phone has a lock code and when I try to connect it to my desktop to back up, it states that I need to enter my 4 digit pin first, which of course I cannot. Any workarounds here or am I SOL?

Hook the phone to a computer running iTunes and backup to the computer. Copy pictures off the phone manually to the computer.

IPad touch-screen sensor the does not work on one part of displey

I have problem with a part of the screen on my iPad. It seems like the sensor on the screen does not work. When draging items or webpages through that section, the dragging stops. It looks like the screen is not detecting my fingers on that part. Part of the screen that is not working is about 1 cm wide. iPad is 1 month old.

Had the same issue with a 1cm strip from top to bottom (portrait) not responding. I did a backup, a complete factory reset, and then a restore of the backup. So far it seems to be working again!!

I can't see the screen in the sun

I've searched for an answer, but can't find one. I have a 8320 and I use the theme that came with the phone. I can not see anything on the screen when there is a lot of light (i.e. outside). Is there a theme or some kind of setting I can use to help? This is very frustrating. Thanks, Joe

Have you tried turning off the "
Automatically Dim Backlight" option?
This can be found under Options-Screen/Keyboard
I find if this is set to On I have a hard time seeing the screen in day light.

my ipod is locked and i cannot get it to work. on the screen it displays the itunes logo and the connecting wire. i have tried updating, restarting, restoring, and nothing works. looking for a little help.

Have you tried placing the iPod in Recovery mode and then restoring via iTunes?
In the future, say what happens when you do various things, saying it does not work provides no information.

I just synced my idevices with my mac and now neither of the touch screens of the advices work when i try to select a playlist. Anyone experienced this?

Restart or reset your iDevices.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Stuck with a message on the touch screen - checking device

This is an officejet 8500 wireless - the computer OS is Vista 64
The touch screen on the printer is stuck with a message that says "checking device" I cannot cancel or stop unless I unplug the printer. This occured after a paper jam.

First, make sure there are no little pieces of paper left in the printer. This document can help you check it out:

If you still get the message on the screen, pull the power cord out while the printer is turned on. Wait 15 mseconds. Hold down the # and 6 keys on the front while you plug the power cord back in. This should reset the printer and, with luck, will clear the message.
