Doe Web Logic support CGI ??

Does Web logic Support CGI ?
Need to connect the Web Server with the Oracle Reports Server running on a
separate machine.
Which is to be referred to as CGI_Virtual Directory?
Thanks ,
Savitha

Please note that our CGI servlet is only used as a migration point for
people with legacy CGI. It is not intended to support people with new
development to -- we encourage you to use JSP and servlets.
Thanks,

  • HA FAILOVER of web logic connection with SQL server

    Does Web-Logic support the HA Failover feature of the Microsoft SQL Server?
    In other words ,
    In case of a failover of the Microsoft SQL server's Primary node to the
    secondary,
    will the weblogic connection failover without having to re-connect again?
    Will the clients logging in or the clients already logged in will have to
    re-establish their connections?
    In an ideal scenario, SQL server failover from primary to secondary will not
    be effecting the client connections .

    The failover only kills the one DBMS instance while the secondary is still active
    ..all the client connections ideally should switch over..but iam not sure as
    said earlier if weblogic can do that as it uses JDBC to connect to the SQL server.Presumably the secondary is listening on a different port for connections, so a multipool
    would help you. One pool would be to the primary, and the other pool would be to
    the secondary. Every client request for a pool connection would go to the multipool.
    As long as the first DBMS is up (whenver it is up), connections will come from the
    first pool. Whenever the first pool cannot make a good connection, the multipool
    will return a connection from the second pool.

  • Distributed destination issue on Web Logic server 8.1

    Hi,
    I'm using distributed JMS destination (Cluster) of Web Logic server 8.1.
    I'm using Oracle B2B to talk to the cluster. Oracle B2B is only creating a consumer on one of the managed servers in this cluster. This is resulting in loss of messages when messages are placed by the WLI on the other managed server.
    Further the consumers are created randomly by Oracle B2B.
    My question here is whether Web Logic Server 8.1 supports multiple consumers for its clusters?
    Please Help!
    Thanks in advance.
    Warm Regards,
    Suhas.

    Are your consumers co-located with each managed server or remote?
    Let me preface this by this is the way I believe it works...
    The reason I ask is that distributed destinations route to one managed server at connect time. So for producers, when 1 message is placed on a distributed destination, it is really routed to only 1 managed server queue. From a remote consumer standpoint, when connecting to a distributed destination to read messages, you are only routed to one of the managed server queues to read from, not the logical superset of all queues in the distributed destination. So you would need to connect to each distributed destination member queue directly to ensure each had consumers. Whereas if your consumers are co-located on the cluster, then they can each connect to the local member queue for that distributed destination and ensure that each member of the distributed destination has consumers.
    I'd recommend you note the follow docs:
    QueueReceivers
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs103/jms/dds.html
    When creating a queue receiver, if the supplied queue is a distributed queue, then a single physical queue member is chosen for the receiver at creation time. The created QueueReceiver is pinned to that queue member until the queue receiver loses its access to the queue member. At that point, the consumer will receive a JMSException, as follows:
    If the queue receiver is synchronous, then the exception is returned to the user directly.
    If the queue receiver is asynchronous, then the exception is delivered inside of a ConsumerClosedException that is delivered to the ExceptionListener defined for the consumer session, if any.
    Upon receiving such an exception, an application can close its queue receiver and recreate it. If any other queue members are available within the distributed queue, then the creation will succeed and the new queue receiver will be pinned to one of those queue members. If no other queue member is available, then the application won’t be able to recreate the queue receiver and will have to try again later.
    Note:      For information on the load-balancing heuristics for distributed queues with zero consumers, see “Configuring Distributed Destination Resources”.
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs103/jms_admin/advance_config.html#jms_distributed_destination_config
    The producer makes such a decision each time it sends a message. However, there is no compromise of ordering guarantees between a consumer and producer, because consumers are load balanced once, and are then pinned to a single destination member.

  • Integration of Web Logic Server with OAM 11g

    Hi all
    I'm trying to integrate OAM 11g with Web Logic server by following the steps mentioned in below link.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e10043/osso.htm#CHDFIGDC
    I placed oamAuthnprovider.jar file in mbean types folder and created a provider named OAMAuthn as per the link to use oam Authenticator.
    I deployed a sample application in weblogic server by mentioning the Active directory group name in web.xml and weblogic.xml files as shown below:
    web.xml :
    <auth-constraint>
    <role-name>Administrators</role-name>
    </auth-constraint>
    <login-config>
    <auth-method>BASIC</auth-method>
    </login-config>
    <security-role>
    <description>Authenticated Users</description>
    <role-name>Administrators</role-name>
    </security-role>
    weblogic.xml :
    <security-role-assignment>
    <principal-name>Administrators</principal-name>
    <role-name>Administrators</role-name>
    </security-role-assignment>
    When i try to acces my application http://<weblogic host>:<port>/<sample application>/<sample welcome.jsp> with the user credentials present in the AD group (Administrators).,i'm getting the Basic pop-up but getting an Error-403 forbidden.
    I'm able to access the application if i create a user named Administrator but not with the Users under Administrators group.
    can anyone please help me and tell me whether it a valid behaviour or not?
    I'm really sorry for my long post.

  • Oracle Enterprise Repository + Web logic server configuration

    Hi,
    I have installed Oracle Enterprise Repository 11g, I would set web logic server with application server fo OER, when I started the configuration tool of web logic server (config.sh), in the second screen 'Generate a domainconfigured automatically to support the following products', there isn't 'Oracle enterprise Repository - 11.1.1.2.0'.
    Why?
    Regards
    Leopoldo

    Hi Nitin
    1. Refer: http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/examples/Tools/index.html
    2. You can develop reports using Report Builder that comes with Oracle 9iDS. Alternatively, since Reports 9i supports .jsp/.xml/.html input files, you can also "hand code" your reports. Moreover, you can create reports JSP file using JDeveloper.
    3. iDS suite comes with Reports Developer, Runtime and Server. You need iAS to deploy your reports.
    Oracle Database is required if you go for Job Repository and several other options with Reports. Oracle Reports per se does not require Oracle database to be installed.

  • Unable to access a Web service in Web logic

    Hi,
    We have deployed a web service in a Web logic 9.2 MP3. We have 1 admin server and 2 managed servers. The web service is deployed under 1 of the managed server. There are no errors thrown in the log files during starting of managed and admin server.
    The other systems are not able to connect to the web service.
    Also there is no entry or any error message in all the log files.
    Can anyone please guide us to overcome this issue?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ninad K

    I would advise you to open a support case.
    Some basic things, do you know if the web service is bound to the URL that you expect on server 1? Try connecting to your web service uri with ?WSDL at the end to see if the WSDL is returned.
    You can also try using tools like TCPMon to see what's getting passed over the wire.

    i have developed an application in oracle apex 4.0 on oracle 11 g R1 and configured listener with oracle web logic server. i can run the application succesfully through web logic server but the problem is that i have to restart the web logic and configure listener again and again after like every 2 to 3 days. plz give me an idea what possibly could be the problem.

    Take a look at this article - note the special section on how to reset the SMC on laptops:

    Follow the Notebook instructions and post back if that didn't solve the problem.
    P.S. You should also consider to update your OS to the latest version.

    I launch the installer for WLS like:

    First step is to provide an middleware home, and on the next step, about configuration manager, where they want me to provide metalink account, it hangs after pressing next. It does not matter if i provide my e-mail or not.
    It says; are you sure you would like to continue anyway, and one time again it ask me if im sure, and i press yes, and then on "next", nothing happends and all buttons are grey.
    Im not sure how to investigate this. :)

    MouhssineYes, and thats really crappy. Ive provided Oracle Support with the BUG id number and they are gonna download the patches for me, but in my opinion i should be able to do this myself.
    There must be alot of people that does not want to grant connection to Internet on their production servers, whats the use of a new, nice, good (as it seems) GUI that no one can use anyway? Having another web logic server just for downloading is also another aspect of the uselessness of Smart Update.
