Following Sybase versions are supported with BO 6.5.4 according to the supported platform guide.

From what I can see, Extesion Builder does not recognise Photoshop CS6 installed in my system.

That would be very inconvenient as it doesn't give the developers any
chance to make their extensions CS6-ready before the release...
Those people should have paid attention to http://blogs.adobe.com/cssdk/2011/11/cs-extension-builder-prerelease-is-now-live.html back when it was posted in November. The form might still work, but since it was handled by Gabe, who has left Adobe, it might not still work. Dunno.

Does 10g XE database support OLAP?

I know ... database question. But haven't tried the Discoverer OLAP option yet and I believe the OLAP option is something you have to license in the database first.
Just wondering if anyone knows - or has setup - the freebie Oracle 10g XE database with the OLAP option so can 'play' with OLAP in Disco ... or am I just dreamin' for more free stuff I can get my hands on ...

Basically you would need an Oracle database and the standalone version of Discoverer, which is available with Oracle Business Intelligence. In my experience, if you do not run too many other applications then a machine with 1GB RAM should suffice for your personal use. To better use memory you should not start the Oracle Database Console nor the Oracle BI AS Control services unless you need them, and even then shut them down after you done with them. That should ensure that you do not end up swapping to disk too often. If you use Discoverer along with an Oracle AS infrastructure then at least 1.5 GB RAM would be recommended.

Does 10g application server 10.1.2.0.2 work for 9i database?

I have installed 9i database on UNIX. then I am trying to install 10 application server 10.1.2.0.2. But somehow it force me to install a complete 10g database, which is undesireable for me. So I just wonder whether 10g application server can work for 9i database? If it works, how to install 10g app server with 9i database?

The 10g database installed by the 10.1.2.0.2 application server is used by it as a metadata repository for configuration and also as an LDAP server for the Oracle Internet Directory.
What components of the application server do you need? If all you want is Forms and Reports services, there is a standalone version that does not install the 10g infrastructure database.

Does Visual Studio Online support filtering Product Backlog/Sprint Views and Kanban by Area?

There seems to be guidance out there now that suggests using one Master Team Project (with Areas and Iterations for partitioning) for everything rather than a Team Project per Application/Solution as the 'out of the box' product sort of steers you towards.
If this guidance is valid, and I've heard that Microsoft use this approach internal, then is it possible to follow this guidance when using Visual Studio Online?
I ask because it appears that in order to follow the 'Master Team Project' approach you need to be able to filter various elements of the TFS UI by Area and Iteration in order to allow a discrete view of just the material relating to one 'logical' application,
team, etc.
Whilst I see how on-premise TFS can do some of this, I can't see any obvious way to do this with Visual Studio Online - and I'm new to that particular product so accept I may have missed something.
So my question is, can you follow the 'Master Team Project' approach if using Visual Studio Online and if so could someone steer me in the right direction please?

Visual Studio Online(formerly Team Foundation Service) is a cloud-based service. When work with it, you can take it as TFS but no infrastructure to manage. You can follow the guide to work with Visual Studio Online.
To have mulpitle Applications/Solutions in one team project or use a team project for each application depends on you and the relationship between solutions/projects. If the solutons/applications has refences each other, it would be better to include
them in the same team project.

Does Query Builder support Alias like in Oracle

Dear Experts,
As I read one artical give a detailed information regarding the tables in BOE, so i want to use one sql statements to get the information from that table.
I exclude the way to check directly on infoview and designer. I just want to know the way how to get thoes information from query builder.
eg: i know the SI_ID for one webi, and so i want to find out what's the universe/connection/owner etc belong to it.
I have one sample sql as below:
select IA.SI_KIND,IB.SI_NAME,IC.SI_NAME,IW.SI_NAME,IE.SI_NAME

But i got the "invalid error" from query builder, so i guess maybe the query builder support the Alias like in Oracle.
If you know how to use one statement to check the webi and it's universe/connection etc, please kindly assist.

Query Builder is not meant for running complex queries against repository so i dont think Alias will work in query builder.Try to get results with simple queries else you can use SDK to get your job done.

Migrating Forms 61 to 10g - Forms Builder Crashing

We are migrating from Forms 6i to 10g. The application works on a HP-UX box, and since we do not have the necessary setup done in the Unix box yet, we are trying to compile the forms in Windows before-hand to see if we can pre-empt some errors.
I have written a batch command to compile the 6i forms in windows (Windows XP) by invoking the 10g Forms Builder.
While it works like a charm for most of the forms (we have around 500 forms), there are a few forms for which the compiler/builder simply crashes. The .err file created for this form has absolutely nothing, it is a 0KB file.
When I try opening such forms in Forms Dev 10g, and then compile them, the Dev crashes. It gives no indication of the error.
By crashing I mean that windows throws the error message saying "Application has to be closed. Send error report: yes/no"
Can someone please tell me if you faced such a problem, and how you went about solving it?

Try a Compile All ( Ctrl - K ), then Ctrl - T.
Not sure about XP, but in Vista, the 10g Builder and batch compiler will crash if a PLL Library is not available when the form is compiled.
Make sure the PLL Library is available, and all its objects compile in the 10g setup.
If that does not help, then try a semicolon-to-semicolon replace all, then save the fmb. Then restart the Forms Builder, and open the fmb again, and try compiling.

I installed a corporate install of Flex/Flash Builder 4 Premium, and verified that it was the Premium version was installed. The Start Page said that Flash Player was needed to display the text, so I installed Flash Player 10 Debug -- first download link from here:

When I then started Flex Builder 4, the splash screen showed Premium, but as soon as the Start Page was visible, it showed "FB Adobe Flash Builder 4 Standard" --- Help | About showed Standard, and the splash screen from then on showed Standard.
A Google search showed a work around for this, but it requires a license for Premium, which I don't have because our corporate install has it built-in:

I had similar problem. I was involved in Flash Builder prerelease program and few months later I installed Adobe CS5 Master Collection. After that I had a same situation. Best thing was, my Flash Builder Beta was Premium version but acted like Standard, and FB from CS5 was Standard but acted like Premium. I removed CS5 and beta version of CS5. used CS5 Cleaning Fix and then reinstalled my apps.
I was lucky that I didn't have many big projects involved in FB beta or CS5 workspaces, I heard some guys had problems with migrated workspace configurations but I don't know what was the problem.

Does the 6600GT-VTD128 support video capture?

I recently purchased an MSI 6600GT-VTD128 video card. The product information seems to suggest that the card has video input capabilities, and there is an adapter that plugs into the card that has a number of connections, one of which is labeled S-Video in. However, I haven't been able to get any video capture to work.
Does the card actually support this functionality? If not, what are the video input connections for? If so, is there some documentation as to how to set it up?
So far, I tried installing the video capture drivers that come with the card. I checked the manual. I checked the MSI web site FAQs. And I searched the forums.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Richard. Yes I do have a breakout cable like that. Actually, I described it in my original message. So, I am guessing from your message that you believe that the card should have the capability to capture video.
In my original message, I asked if there was any documentation on setting up the card for video capture. The manual does not describe the procedure, nor does the MSI web site.
There are drivers on the CD that claim to be for video capture, but they had no effect when I installed them. In fact, there appears to be no way to tell whether the drivers were actually installed successfully.
If anyone out there has successfully used this card for video capture, please let me know.

Or does Adobe actually rely on these forums and/or for the customer figure things out for themselves?
First issue is that all video playback within Premiere CS6 stopped working ( periodically it works for a few days then stops again) . After trying all the recommendations (clearing out the cache, uninstalling and re-installing Quick Time, etc.) now the program does not even shut down and after forcing the program to close, it actually is still runs in the back ground using 1 gigabyte of memory.
I keep up on the maintenance of the machine (weekly and sometimes every day), install all the updates from Adobe, as well as the driver for the video card (directly from the vendor).
So has Adobe stopped provided updates for CS6 by coming out with the CC version? Perhaps the Creative Cloud subscription is not really worth the money since you get what you pay for value wise.
By just browsing through the forum, there appears to many issues, so how reliable is the product ?

Have been trying to get to the root cause of the problem but did not find much on this. I am trying to figure out what can get the warning to go away completely than using the Allow/Always Allow options for the plug-in

Thank you for your response. Here is the screenshot of the warning that I am talking about.
Here is what I do:
1. Launch Safari and open its Preferences. I have Safari 7.1 installed on my machine.
2. Click Security Tab and click Manage WebSite Settings
3. A window opens showing me all the Plug-ins that I have (listed on the left hand side).
4. One of them is the Adobe Reader plug-in. When I click Adobe Reader, the following details about the plug-in show up on the right
I was referring to the highlighted section that warns me about this plug-in not using the highest level of security for Safari Plug-ins.
Note: I do not see this for all my plug-ins (QuickTime, Adobe Flash Player don't give me this warning) which tells me that there is a way to make the warning go away.
