Does 11.1.1.6 OBIEE simple install work properly on Windows 7 64 bit OS?

Can anyone confirm if the simple install for 11.1.1.6 simple install works normally on Windows 7 64 bit OS? I have run into a slew of issues including:
1. hanging on the Create Domain. Stays at 0% for 2 hours and then fails
2. Pre requisite checks do not work in a stable way (sometimes they fail and need to be ignored and other times they succeed)
I removed all Oracle software and tried a completely clean install (DB, RCU, OBIEE, etc)..I have my loopback adapter set and also have JDK.
Do we need to manually do the WLS + Software only to get this to work or does the Simple install actually work on Win 7 64 bit??
Thanks.

According to the certification matrix, it should work: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-enterprise-edition/bi-11gr1certmatrix-166168.html
Check row 72/73 in Current System Certification. Also, what do the logs say about the errors you are facing?

    In fact, it works correctly on some sites, like youtube, but not on some others like :

    I cannot check boxes,
    My changes are not saved.
    In most of flash animations, videos, ...,
    when I click on parameters, I cannot do anything, even closing.
    when I am in full screen mode, the message "press escape to exit...." does not disappear.
    Last thing, all those problems was not there when I was on Windows XP, few weeks ago, and appear with my registered Windows 7 premium familly edition, with the same hardware configuration...

  • I have problem with installing Java Runtime Enviroment. It does not install it properly in Windows 7

    I'm asking for installing Java Runtime Enviroment. I install, but it does not work. I'm asked to install it evry time I am using Panasonic web camera with microfone and speaker program?

    I'm going to answer my own question in hopes it helps someone else. I had the problem immediately after I had installed PS CC.  Once I restarted the computer and tried again, it worked.

  • Why does my Extreme blink amber when it is working properly?

    Also, there is a red #1 next to my base station when I'm in Airport Utility.  What does that mean?

    A flashing amber status light does not always indicate a problem that would cause a loss of either network or Internet connectivity. However, it does indicate that some issue still exists and would require that you use the AirPort Utility to find out what that might be.

  • ShowAppointmentDetailsAsync does not work properly in Windows Runtime apps

    I found a bug that AppointmentManager.ShowAppointmentDetailsAsync always returns immediately in a Windows Runtime app (this did not happen in a Silverlight app). Method should return only after user has pressed the back button as in other appointments
    apis. Now it is very difficult to perform required actions in my app after user returns from the appointment details view. Please fix this latest in Windows 10 so I can remove my workarounds.

    Steps to reproduce the issue:
    1. Create a new C# Store project e.g. "Blank App (Windows Phone)" (must be a Windows Runtime app, NOT Silverlight).
    2. In Package.appxmanifest add capability "Appointments"
    3. In MainPage.cs insert the following code block:
    protected override async void OnNavigatedTo(NavigationEventArgs e)
    var appointmentStore = await Windows.ApplicationModel.Appointments.AppointmentManager.RequestStoreAsync(AppointmentStoreAccessType.AllCalendarsReadOnly);
    var appointments = await appointmentStore.FindAppointmentsAsync(DateTimeOffset.Now, TimeSpan.FromDays(30));
    var appointment = appointments.FirstOrDefault();
    if (appointment != null)
    await appointmentStore.ShowAppointmentDetailsAsync(appointment.LocalId);
    (sample assumes you have at least one appointment in your calendar within next month)
    5. Add a breakpoint on the line "await appointmentStore.ShowAppointmentDetailsAsync..."
    6. Run the app, the breakpoint is hit.
    7. Hit F10 and see how appointment details are shown as expected but call returns immediately which is not correct.
    You can try the same code in a Silverlight app where it works correctly.

  • Why does facebook say adobe flash is not installed

    why does facebook say adobe flash is not installed when it is - windows 7 IE11????

    Unless you're on a company computer and locked down to prevent using anythng else, I'd recommend you drop Microsoft's pathetic excuse for a browser and download Firefox.
    Then install the Flash Player Plug-in (For other browsers), and free yourself from the chains of the guys in Redmond, WA who can only seem to get things right 50% of the time.

  • Installing new HDD after Windows XP to Windows 7 upgrade on my T400

    A few weeks ago I did a clean install to upgrade my T400 laptop from Windows XP to Windows 7 Professional, using the upgrade version of Windows 7 (vs. the complete new installation version - saved about $100.00).
    Now I want to upgrade my HDD from 250GB to 500GB. I purchased the HDD from Lenovo, expecting the drive to come with some guidance for the upgrade other than how to physically replace the drive. Unfortunately, no such help found.
    I have researched this and I think I have a few options. I could 1) clone my current hard drive or 2) do a clean reinstall on the new drive.
    While looking over Microsoft's knowledge base I came a cross an article that said that I couldn't use the Windows 7 upgrade disk on a new hard drive. The article said I would first have to recover the original Windows XP OS onto my laptop, and then use the upgrade disk. Is that right? Do I really have to start over (upgrading to Windows 7 was a bear)?
    If I clone my hard drive (I have the necessary hardware & software) will the upgraded Windows 7 be operable on the new hard drive?
    I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.

    You should be fine with cloning the drive. Microsoft normally limits the "upgrade" to only installing over an already existing Windows or a drive with Windows on it. So yes, it is not going to install on a bare drive for you.
    As long as the clone aligns the partition properly, if necessary, then the cloned drive should operate fine. I cloned my initial HDD when upgrading to an SSD. Windows might require you to re-verify the machine because of the hardware change. However, changing only one component is not supposed to trigger the verification process. Once you know that it is working properly, you Windows license probably requires you to delete it from the old drive.

    Hi Vj,
    The error logs are quite generic and do not seem to help much. If you are on windows, check the event viewer if there are any messages. You may want to check the Admin server's ".out" file too other than ".log" file.
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you,

  • Upgrade to 11.1.1.7.1 from 6.8 on a Simple Install

    Hi All,
    This is my configuration
    Host Machine = Windows Server 2008 64 Bit
    OBIEE = OBIEE 11.1.1.6.8 - SIMPLE INSTALL ONLY
    We have a simple install of OBIEE, so there is no managed server and no clustering. We want to upgrade to 11.1.1.7.1. I read it from ritttman's blog that "in place" upgrade on simple install in not possible? If somebody has done it by manually doing some changes, can you please share the link with me? Also, if it is possible this way, is it worth doing it considering all the manual changes / errors we face while doing. Is it recommended?
    Also, If I go about doing a fresh installation of OBIEE 7.1 on the same host machine (in a separate middleware home folder) which already have weblogic running and OBIEE version 6.8  running, will that work? Can I install 7.1 on the same physical machine which already have 6.8 runining with simple install?
    I'll really appreciate any help/pointers on this, Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Ronny

    Hi Ronny,
    If I go about doing a fresh installation of OBIEE 7.1 on the same host machine (in a separate middleware home folder) which already have weblogic running and OBIEE version 6.8  running, will that work?
    11.1.1.7.1 recommends weblogic 10.3.6 where as 11.1.1.6.8 is on 10.3.5
    check the Prerequisites section

    Refer this SR.
    SR 3-5457356311: unable to create weblogic domain in windows 7 SP1 home edition 64 bit
    Earlier i have face same issues.after 4 attempts its got resolved.make sure below points
    static ip set it properly (windows/hots,etc files) make sure u r pc have full permission for installation user
    1.Un-install WebLogic from your machine.
    2.If the installer is on a network drive it's recommended to copy the generic installer to your local file system and to a folder with no spaces or strange characters.
    3.Remove the system variables you've set: JAVA_HOME, JAVA_VENDOR, and remove the %JAVA_HOME%\bin from the path system variable.
    4.Run the installer as follows:
    5.Open a command prompt
    6.Change directory to \JDK_64\bin folder and execute:
    like below,
    C:\>cd C:\java\bin
    C:\java\bin>java -D64 -Xms1024m -jar E:\Share_DEV\OBIEE11g_Latest\wls1035_generi
    c.jar
    run it now
    Extracting 0%.....

  • OBIEE 11.1.1.6.3 Windows WLS install: UnsatisfiedLinkError jni_winx64

    For OBIEE 11.1.1.6.3, do we need to install wls first as a separate step before running the setup.exe from the extracted Zip files? I followed the instructions in the release notes:
    https://stbeehive.oracle.com/teamcollab/wiki/BI+Applications+Infrastructure:BIAPPSSHIPHOME+upgrade+to+11.1.1.6.3+for+BIAPPS+dev+team
    When I ran the wls1-36_generic.jar and got the following error:
    Exception in thread "winRegistry" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Expecting an absolute path of the library: jni_winx64
    at java.lang.Runtime.load0(Unknown Source)

    at com.bea.plateng.wizard.installer.silent.tasks.WinRegistryTask.run(WinRegistryTask.java:251)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
    I searched thru the forums. The most common reason was people were running zip instead of jar and the version of java.
    I have sun 64 bit 1.6.0_32 java and am running the jar file. Also I do not have any spaces in the java or the wls installer jar.
    The command I use to run is java –jar c:\OBIEEInstall\wls1036_generic.jar.
    I do have java home set and path set to point to java. What else do I need to resolve this issue?

    I just tried a simple install of WSL by running the Setup.exe from Disk1 and get errors during domain creation:
