Does 24" LED Display support HDCP?

Recently attempted to rent a movie from the iTunes store and the movie will not play and i get a message indicated one of more of my displays does not support HDCP (High bandwidth Digital Content Protection)  I use a 24" LED display to extend my desk top from my 13" MacBook Pro (Mid 2009 build).  Anyone experienced this issue?  All firmware is up to date and I am running OS X Mountain Lion.
Thanks...

Thanks for the reponce Keanu, I have done a bit more to understand the issue and you are correct it has nothing to do with my LED display and everything to do with the mini display port of my MacBook Pro.  The port does not support HDCP.  This is really a bummer because there is no firmware update that will fix the issue either.
Thanks again...

  • Does the 20" Display support high-definition (HDTV) content?

Hi, I recently installed bootcamp on my mbp. In order to use my apple 20" display as the primary display I had to install an nvidia driver and it is asking me if my display supports high definition (hdtv) content. It says if I click yes and the display can't it could severely damage the display... So does anybody know if my 20" display supports this? Any comment is appriciated, thanks!
    Finley

The 20" will handle some HD (720p) but not 1080. I don't know if Windows considers it HD or not, but the wrong driver won't cause any damage (it could with a CRT).

  • Does the new MBP support HDCP?

No, they do not as of yet as far as I am aware.

  • Does 40S51U LED TV support HDMI/ARC?

I want to add a soundbar to my recently purchased Toshiba 40" LED TV model 40S51U. Currently have (Uverse) HDMI and blue-ray HDMI connected. From other posts it seems that HDMI quality audio cannot pass through to the TV's optical audio output.
This leaves the option of ARC. I see some Toshiba LED TV's support ARC (HDMI/ARC).
I have tried looking but cannot find anything. Would someone please confirm if my model supports ARC?
    Thanks.

    Note:
Download the user manual. Only HDMI 1 suports ARC.
HDMI’s ARC (Audio Return Channel) feature info is on page 19.

  • Can 23" cinema HD Display support Game systems connectivity

I currently have my display connected to my MacBook but space is a factor at my dorm. Can I use my Apple 23" Cinema HD Display to connect my xbox 360? I bought a DVI to HDMI adapter but i get no picture. i also have a xbox VGA cable if i need to go that route. I figure digital to digital should give me a better picture, the an analog to digital. Can my 23" Cinema HD Display support game system connectivity or these older display were meant for Mac's Only?

followup question... Does the 23" cinema HD Display support HDCP? Could that be the cause for a blank screen. the power light is solid. I when to Display settings and lower resolution on the monitor, still no picture?

Hello Sky peoples Having had no trouble with my Sky+ HD and my LG TV for months and months I am now getting this "does not support HDCP" dialog every time I switch on. The TV was on then suddenly it blacked out and wouldnt restart - so I had to de-power at the socket. • I am getting the error "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP" when attempting to play a HD movie from iTunes to my TV.  The TV is a Samsung UN46B7000WF w/resolution 1080p

    Hello Apple Community,
I am getting the message "THis movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)."  This is the first time I have tried to watch a HD movie that I bought from iTunes from my iMac to my TV.  (This is also the first attempt to go from my iMac to my TV.)  I have a Samsung LED tv that says it is HDCP compatible with Full HD (1080p) and Native resolution is 1920X1080.  I bought a Rocketfish Thunderbolt to/Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter (says support is up to 1920X1200 video resolution) and Mediabridge ULTRA Series HDMI Cable (35 Feet) - High-Speed Supports Ethernet, 3D and Audio Return category 2 certified (supports resolution up to 4K including 1440p, 1080p, 1080i and lower).
I can get the iMac to display on my TV but am guessing that I have not managed the settings correctly in Display for either the iMac or the TV.  In addition, I do not have sound yet.  Although, the card from Mediabridge says that I need to update my drivers.  Any help/advice with the settings for iMac to TV to watch in HD and adding HDMI drivers would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
    Sincerely,
    Lisa

    Hello All,
I have figured out the sound issue: System Preferences>Sound and choose the TV for output.

  • Could not turn on Screen mirroring. The output device is not ready or does not support HDCP

i tried it on my tv sony bravia w700b with my new xperia z1
i didnt unlocked my bootloder or i didnt rooted my phone
dont know whats the problem is
'Could not turn on Screen mirroring. The output device is not ready or does not support HDCP'. can anybody able to tell how can I resolve this please?

Have you checked if your device does support HDCP? I looked at https://www.iezvu.com/ezcast.php?l=en but i'm afraid i can't find any detailed specification for it.
If you have unlocked your bootloader this may also be the cause for this issue.

    No.

  • Does 10.5.6 Support Dual displays for Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition cards?

Does 10.5.6 Support Dual displays for Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition cards?
And is there driver updates for anyone using the all-in-ones HP printers...has anyone been able to use their scanners since the update? and has the dual screen support been added to avoid the blue screen on startup?

The ATI Radeon 9600 PC/Mac edition 256 MB should work in the MDD G4. It has two DVI ports (one is dual-link and can support a 30" display). You will need adapters for ADC displays.

  • My hdmi connection does not support hdcp

how do i get my hdmi connection to support hdcp

It's your TV that needs to support HDCP, most TV's that have HDMI do support HDCP, check with your manufacturer whether it does, it may be you have a fault if the TV supports HDCP. If it doesn't support HDCP, there isn't anything you can do except get a new TV.

  • How well does the new Apple 24" LED Display work?

    Hey guys
Im thinking of purchasing a 24" LED Display from Apple, just because I need a bigger screen to work on, as I edit photos, and film and I've been looking into one for awhile. Buck for buck, is this monitor a good companion to the unibody MacBook pros with the mini display port? Of course, its looks all glitz and glamour on the mac site but has anyone worked with these things hands on? What are the pros and cons?

The display is very easy to use; considering you'll probable be plugging in the display multiple times per day this is really important.
The built in display is LED lit (cool light) sense the 24" is also LED lit (cool light), there is a greater consistency in color between the two displays.
Traditional LCD displays have a warmer glow due to using a fluorescent tube. Trying to go between LED and and fluorescent tube displays could drive you insane. especially if your using both displays at the same time for photography, where color can be very important.

  • HT1338 I just bought a brand new mac mini, and finally got it authorized for itunes.  I purchased some tv programs and now it is telling me I canʻt play them because my monitor doesnʻt support HDCP... I am using a 30inch mac monitor...

Any ideas how to get this working?  I donʻt have money to go buy a new monitor...

Unfortunately HDCP is a technical requirement for the playback of some movie formats, for example Blu-ray.  If your monitor does offer this, make sure your cabling and connection type also supports it.  If your monitor doesn't offer this, I'm afraid you may have to consider buying a new or additional monitor.  Any other suggestions I could make are not permitted on this forum, I'm afraid.
I have this problem too.  I have a 2005/2006 Apple Cinema Display that's still in perfect working order, but doesn't have support HDCP.  I had to find an alternative way of playing back my blu-rays.
