Does 7.01 update solve your problem?

I haven't updated to iTunes 7 because of all of the reported issues.
So I just thought I'd inquire about whether the update solved your problems or not. Let us know if things are fixed or still buggy.
D
  Mac OS X (10.4.7)   Titanium PowerBook (15")

I have to start by saying that I didn't have the problems that many people talked about. Artwork scrolling is better, and according to the mac's Activity Monitor, iTunes 7.01 is using a lot less memory, so apparently it's more efficient.
I still have a problem when watching video (TV shows or movies). I start out at full screen, but if I try to reduce the size, the video stops and I'm left looking at the iTunes software. I have to then click the album art, then click "play", to get it to run at a smaller size.
I've tried reducing the size by (1) clicking the video, (2) clicking the "reduce" control button that shows up on the screen, (3) using keyboard shortcuts. All 3 methods give the same result. This only happens when going from full screen to other sizes. When going between other sizes (such as half size to double size), there's no problem. (I've reported this bug to Apple.)

Why is the sound of my new ipad cutting out intermittently and what does Apple recommend to solve the problem in lieu of any updates? All of a sudden without changing any settings, the audio on my NEW ipad cuts in and out on applications/ games, keypad noise and lock sounds. The rocker button only seems to work while the sound is intermittently being heard before, after a few seconds of noise not doing anything when sound goes off.
This is highly frustrating as I've noticed others posting about such issues as far back as April. Anybody had the same thing happen to them? Is this likely software (ios6) or hardware issue? What are the solutions Apple???

Apple has no physical stores of their own in Dubai, so unless you mean that you purchased from the online Apple Store for the UAE, you purchased from a dealer, who may or may not have been authorized. You can check the expiration date of the warranty on your iPad yourself by entering in the serial number here:
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
If it does indeed show the warranty has expired, then what you need to do from here will depend on who you purchased the iPad from and when you really did purchase it. Perhaps you actually purchased it in August and are just misremembering? Check your receipt. If you confirm that you did purchase within the last calendar year, tell us exactly where you got it and we can probably offer advice.
    Regards.

Hi everyone,I'm new here. I've been reading about all of the problems everyone has been having with their X-Fi's. I realise how everyone must feel that they spent ?XX or ?XXX getting a brand spanking new soundcard that claimed to be the best money could buy. I'm here to try and get this sorted for you. Let me explain. I'm a computer enthusiast. I, like a lot of you, have an awesome computer. However, i don't have an X-Fi (one is on the way to me though). I'm not here to show off my specs. I'm here to try and offer a solution. I've been thinking about this. And i thought, why don't we, as a community, make some modified drivers, or, some application that can read the BIOS chip on the X-Fi (i assume they have some sort of BIOS chip, like most GPU's). I don't have much experience in reading system data, but i do know about programming. Or perhaps some sort of system patch? The "Screech of death" and the "cracking and popping" seems to happen on a wide variety of system configurations, but does seem more prevalent on Asus boards. I have a theory that it occurs due to the FSB/HTT being too high. Perhaps someone could try this for me:?) Go into BIOS and change your HTT or FSB Multiplier down one step. So if you have set it at 5X, set it to 4X. Then, try and see if you can replicate the problem. If it reoccurs, then try lowering it one more just to be sure. If it doesn't reoccur, then we have one part of the problem solved. If it does, then we can remove that. Next, IRQ's. I realise this has been posted a lot around here. But, this is for those of you with some sort of Onboard audio (which are a lot of you i imagine). I've done a bit of research with my own system (Epox EP9NPAJ SLI motherboard, which is NF4 SLI Chipset) and i've discovered that the onboard audio, is sharing with the Primary?PCI IDE Controller. Now, even though IRQ Sharing is part of the PCI specification, has anyone thought of disabling onboard audio? Or completely disabling that IRQ? Now, if you don't have an FDD, you could potentially try assigning IRQ 6 to the X-Fi as IRQ 6 is a uni'versal IRQ that is used for the FDD. If that doesn't work, perhaps you could try the following:?) You need to disable your onboard LAN and all references to LAN and NVidia in your BIOS.2) In IRQ's, assign the NVidia Netbus IRQ to the X-Fi. Ususally, this is IRQ 22, but you should check this in Device manager in Windows (View ---> Resources by Type ---> Interrupt Request ---> Nvidia Network Bus Enumerator). Obviously, this means you lose networkability, but if it solved your problem, you can always buy a PCI network card. If not, then reassign the IRQ to the Nvidia Netbus to reenable networking. Next one, PCI Slot. Again, i know this has been mentioned a lot, but try changing?the PCI slot that the X-Fi is in. If it still causes problems, then try one or more of the steps above. Next, memory. I don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but it may help. Try this, go into your BIOS and loosen your memory timings. So, if you have memory timings of 3-3-3-5-T, try adjusting it to 3-3-3-5-2T. If this solves your problem, good for you! If not, then try changing it to 3-3-3-7-T or 3-3-3-7-2T. Again, if this solves your problem, well done! If not, readjust your timings to what they were before. You could also try using a lower memory divider. So if you have 200 divider, try 83, or even 66. Solved your problem? Nice! Not solved? Sorry. I realise that people are very stressed about the problems, but i would appreciate it if you didn't flame me. I am not here to interfere, i'm simply here to try and provide my knowledge to you as best i can (i'm currently studying for Network+, A+, Customer Support (ITSST: Information Technology Systems Support Technician) at college). I do have a background in Computers, and even though i'm only 7, i know about things like this. No, i don't work for Creative. I am not part of their team, neither support, technical or software. I just want to work towards a solution. Let me know if there are any problems, or if you have any suggestions or any case studies i could use. Perhaps you could also post the following for me at the bottom of your message (please press the enter key first and then write the information in bold):?Motherboard Manufacturer (E.G. Asus, Epox, Etc.)Chipset on that board (E.G. NF4 SLI, Via K8T900, Etc.)Single VGA Card, SLI or CrossfireMemory Type (E.G. DDR DIMM, DDR2 DIMM, Etc.)Speaker Setup used (E.G. Multimedia/2.0, 2., 5., Etc.)Problems you have experienced with relation to the X-Fi (E.G. Squeeking, Popping, Etc.) Write all that apply to you. That's all i need to know. It should help me come to a solution and i plan to present a case study to both the community, the motherboard manufacturers that are affected most, chipset manufacturers that are affected most and Creative themselves. Like i said earlier, please don't flame me. I realise that almost all of you have been in contact with Creative. I also plan to present the case study to them along with possible causes and solutions. Please do not flame me for planning to do this as i am only here to try and help you out. If we, together, as a community can get to the bottom of this, then we can let the whole world know that we know what's wrong and how it can possibly be solved. • Will BIOS update solve "suspend" problem?

I have a 2014 X1 Carbon that I love. Best laptop I've ever owned. Except for one thing: "suspend" doesn't work. I have Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit installed. I've done some internet research and it seems that a BIOS update to version 1.13 might solve the problem with suspend. However, the instructions in the readme are all for Windows. See http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/gruj08uc.txt. How can I check what version of the BIOS I am running using Linux? Has anyone else run this update and 1) solved the suspend problem, or 2) encountered problems that bricked the laptop or somehow made things worse?

My iPad Keeps returning to the home page. When I am in the middle of anything I have restored it to factory settings like it is new but it still does this. Can anyone give me advice on how to solve this problem

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • How does one do updates when your service provider is s-l-o-w??                     According to the counter, our computer needs almost 20 hrs. of updates, is there a way to pick and choose which ones are downloaded?

We have a "Rocket Hub" and our download times vary greatly.  My husband's computer, Snow Leopard OS, shows he has about 20 hrs. of updates to download.  Is there a way to pick and choose so we can catch up?

Nope, because files sizes, machines, software installed are different and you can't control what needs to be installed first before others work.
Apple is all Internet, you should see Lion users, they can't reinstall their OS at all without a Internet connection. (or pay $69 for the Lion USB key) and then there still the updates to deal with.
So take a ride, to a Apple Store early in the morning before their network gets overloaded (what a way to get you in the door and buy more junk uh?) fully update to 10.6.8.
Good thing about Snow Leopard, not much more in large updates coming for that verision, in fact they will stop completely come next spring or so when 10.8 is released.
Unless you live in a wealthy area with broadband, your a nobody in Apple's viewpoint.
You could get a 3G laptop connect card, hopefully that will give you enough to download your updates but they cost a fortune.
If I could just provide you with update disk I would, but I can't, machines are different.
Call Apple and ask for a update disk, perhaps they have a solution
Once you do get all your updates, Carbon Copy Clone your boot drive to a external drive, it's hold the option key bootable duplicate.
    Donationware too.

What, exactly, is your issue? These are the only supported Bluetooth profiles:

If you're trying to do anything other than what's listed in that support document, then it's not a problem, as such is simply not supported.

I am receiving this error message indicating the code after I am asked to ingress 3 questions to increase my security level.   I answer the question and after giving accept appears this message.

    Hi,
There was a LONG discussion on the forum 4 months ago about this exact issue and it was affect Shaw customers. You can see it at [/questions/976504]. However, cor-el mentioned a fix that worked for users and it said:
Make sure to reset the security.tls.version.max pref to 1 if you have previously changed this pref to 0 to disable TLS 1.0
Can you see if that helps?
This is most likely not what's happening but it's safe to go over previously solved questions.

I had left my computer on when I went to dinner and both internet explorer and firefox browsers were on. When I returned, the screen said that I had been "infected" and a variety of trojan horses and other problems were breaking into my computer and my personal data were at risk. You don't say what you are doing or trying to do. See #5 below.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netwhttp://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • HP Update Does Not Install Updates

I recently installed my HP Photosmart D7460 on my new HP-Pavilion FT863AV-ABA d5100t using the most recent D7460 download file. Now I regularly get a message (Once a week automatic update) stating I need to install HP Update - Security Update, Windows Help and Support Update and Critical Update for HP Photosmart Essential. These updates are downloaded but the Installation is cancelled for each one. How do I stop getting false weekly update notices.

you could start by uninstalling the HP Update program from Add/Remove Programs.
Make it easier for other people to find solutions, by marking my answer with \'Accept as Solution\' if it solves your problem.
