Does a 12 contract auto-renew?

Hi,
In september last year I signed up for a 12 month contract in which I paid for all of it up front, howver I wasn't aware of the charges I would get if the line wasn't used for calls. This annoyed me but this is not the issue.
The issue I have now is that I am moving out on the 21st of June (Next week) and I would like any contract still standing cancelled. Is this possible? I think it should be seeing as I have already paid for 12 months.
Thank you.

  • BT Sport, Contract Auto Renewal an no Notification...

    Hello everyone,
My contract with BT was suppose to end at the end of the month, so today I called BT and asked them to stop my subscription because I don't want anymore have BT as my Broadband tv and calls provider. I have been a customer for 3 years now and I'm so unsatisfied with my broadband service.
When I asked the guy to cancel it, he replied to me that I subscribed to BT sports in November and that my contract is going until November. I obviously NEVER DID THAT so I asked him to give me a proof of it, which he didn't. I don't know what to do, I spent 30 minutes on the phone and the only answered I had was "we can cancel your subscription but you'll have to pay fees" (~150£!!)
My contract was suppose to end in 10 days and after 3 years I don't want to pay anymore any money to BT regarding the poor service I had. What can I do? Does anyone is in the same situation?
I really have the impressioned to be scamed.
I precise that I didn't even use BTsports or even BT TV because my TV reception is not good which is quite funny when you have a look at the situation.
(sorry if my enlish is not perfect, as my username says I'm just a foreigner )
    Thanks

  • HT4098 How do you turn off an auto renewing subscription that does not show up within your account?  I applied for BBC iPlayer but wish to cancel the subscription, I have followed advise above but my account does not have a subscription section within set

I have two Apple ID's as I am currently in Italy and when I first set up  my Apple ID it acknowledged my current location.  However when I applied for BBCiplayer I had to set up a different ID with UK address.  I thought maybe I was looking at the wrong account so used the e-mail address to which the auto renew receipt had been sent and followed the "forgotten Apple ID" link which prompted me for a new password.  Set up new password but whenever I try and log into account I am not asked for password and ID it just automatically takes me there (so unable to switch accounts).

What do you mean 'not asked for password and ID it just automatically takes me there' ?
If you are using your computer's iTunes then you can log out of an account via the Store > Sign Out menu option, that will then change to a Store > Sign In option
Is that what you are doing ?

  • Auto renewing contract with no notification receiv...

    Hi
I recently called to cancel BT's telephone services as we're moving house and was informed that my contract has auto renewed and that I should have received a notification giving me the opportunity to cancel it.
As we knew we'd be moving out in less than 12 months I obviously would have cancelled it had I received the notification.... but now I'm told we need to pay a cancellation charge.
I can't believe that BT are allowed to renew contracts without a confirmation from the customer.
    Best regards
    Pip

    Hi pipBath and welcome
The auto renewal also happened to me once, I called them on 150, politely asked why it was renewed and asked them for confirmation as to what method they used to advise me it was being automatically renewed - they couldn't so BT cancelled the 12 month contract and as a goodwill gesture allowed me to continue at a reduced rate.
You could try this route, but don't mention cancelling, if they cancel the contract, you could cancel at the end of the call....

  • Auto Renewing Contract

I just wanted to clarify that the auto renewing contract on the Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan no longer auto renews?  My contract is due to finish tomorrow.  I have received no correspondence from BT advising me that the contract is coming to an end and I therefore have not told them that I do not want to auto renew.  I note that BT withdrew renewal contracts on 3 December 2011 however this particular calling plan is still advertised as having an auto renewal.  I do not want to renew having been offered a much better deal by another service provider so theoretically after tomorrow I should be able to walk away from them at any time as the fixed contract will have come to an end.  Is this everyone else's understanding of this?
I have tried to call but am constantly on hold and this is difficult with working during the day, by the time I get home the helplines are closed.  There is no email address to try and contact either so thought this may bring me some answers.
Many thanks to anyone that may be able to clarify this situation.

  • Why does anyone continue to do business with a company that forces you to keep auto renewal on your account?

I find it intolerable that I cannot purchase a one-year subscription without having auto renewal tacked on.  There is no way to turn it off other than cancelling the account and being charged a fee.  This puts the task of remembering to login a year later right before the subscription ends on the customer if they want to get the full use of the subscription for which they have paid.  This is just bad service and an obvious ploy to get people to renew by trusting that many will forget to turn it off a year later.

This is not Apple's decision, but a decision of the copyright holders and record companies:
They just want to improve their sales and decided that this is a possible way.

  • NBA Package Auto Renewal- A Scam

We signed up for the NBA package last year without realizing it was going to automatically renew this year and there would be no way out of it. We also got no warning that it was going to be on our bill last month. All of a sudden our bill is $100 higher and we hadn't known that was coming. And now it's another $100 we have to shell out this month for a service we don't even want!
When we saw the charge and called customer service they really didn't care, just said there was nothing they could do and were nonchalant about the fact that $200 of my money is being flushed down the tubes. I know the service reps are simply doing what their job states but the managers don't have to be nasty about it and not find a way to work with you. We DO NOT want this service. It is simply a few buttons on their end that can be pressed to stop that channel from coming to our box.
We are canceling with Verizon when our contract in up in January because this is an outrageous way to treat people- the package renewal was a scam, we don't want it and after spending over an hour on the phone about it, this company is not worth our time.

We were also charged auto renewals.
they said they sent me an email stating that it would auto renew. I asked for the date of the email and they could not give it to me. I searched my emails and never recieved.
They billed us for NBA league pass annual renwal for $199 and NFL RedZone Annual Renwal $69.99. Ontop of this we are still waiting for a credit for a phone that did not work for 6 months. But they would be more than happy to disconnect our service if we refuse to pay.
Seeing that it is only $180 to cancel our contract the competition is starting to look much better. Very dishonest practice.

  • Contract Automatic Renewal Issues

    Hello,
We took a connection in January, 2009 (a 12 month contract). I am not able to find that plan anymore. Basically, we had Unlimited Broadband, Weekends Call Free.
That contract is supposed to have ended by December 31, 2009.
Is BT supposed to send us a reminder/information on the bills that the contract is to end and if you do not explicitly inform BT, we will automatically renew your contract and you will be part of another 12 month contract?
    Thanks,
    Tom

I am currently trying to get out of my auto renewing landline contract ( I think it is actually for the free evening and weekend calls that they tag on for "free"). I did know that it was auto renewing, and rang up to ask how long to go as I knew it was around that time and had seen a good offer from sky, I was horrified to learn it had only just been renewed so had another 12 months to go. Like I said,  I knew it was around this time of year for it to be renewed, but I definitely never received a letter telling me a month before. I told this to the helpful (ish) lady on the phone, and firstly she offered me a reduction to £10.90 a month  to continue. As I told her It was not the line rental that was an issue (though that has just gone up??) it was to get a better broadband deal , to get the best deals you have to give them the line rental too. She again seemed quite helpful and said she would put me through to customer services to see if a letter had been sent, and if not, would let me cancel without penalty. I was even considering at this point taking her up on the offer to stick with BT, with the £3 saving on line rental the move to sky was not saving me all that much. But decided to keep my options open and let her put me through to "customer services", I knew it wasn't going to be so smooth from now on once I heard the  Asian accent and the line quality had dropped. Though the 1st lady said she would leave notes on my account to assist whoever took over, I was told that I had to ring back in a couple of hours as the system was down. Gobsmacked that the 1st person was not aware of this, I reluctantly hung up. But now I have been thinking and the blood is starting to boil and I have to say that it is downright disgusting that a company with the supposedly stature of BT, would result to such practises, something a back alley outfit would do in tying you into a ongoing contract, when there is actually no benefit to be gained by the customer for doing so (I have a unlimited use mobile so no need of the free calls, and most other providers provide this service anyway). They can come back with what they want, they may admit that a letter never got sent (again why should a company as BT need to resort to putting the onus on customers to cancel something rather than working to keep them) but I will never use BT again (I know technically even with sky BT are providing the line), and I intend to give them as little of my money as possible, ever again. I have another 1hr before I can call back, but how I feel at the min I feel like just cancelling my DD and let them sue me and prove I am in the wrong, but they have me over a barrel as I am sure they will just cut the line and leave me without broadband (even if I do move to sky)...
I will update this post (I created an account just to vent some steam) when I am thinking more clearly and hopefully have things resolved.

  • How auto-renewal works

How can I turn auto renewal off of my creative cloud subscription? Adobe FAQ says that there is an option for that in account management but I can't find such option. I have one year subscription.

NightSkyGuy, you will be charged $50 a month for the second year. Not $70, that is the price for a Team Membership. Your second year if you auto-renew on a yearly contract basis will be $50.
Do you have an authoritative place where Adoe has announced next year's pricing?  Please share. They might charge $0.79  or $79.00.  If it actually said I'd be auto renewing AT $50 I'd have some confidence. However it says "The price is subject to change" - it could be anything.
So if the auto-renew does somehow take place you can still cancel in the first month and get your money back for that first month.
I'm sorry, but I have no confidence in this either. My friend was told that since he renewed, his cancellation would cost him 50%.  A Renewal is not being treated the same way as a first time sign up.  I'd like to see what you've written in writing on Adobe's website.  The Terms and Conditions do not say you cannot disable autorenewal. They do say you'll be notified before renewal but NOT WHEN!
Any reason why a company that manages to maintain Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign etc can't add a simple button that toggles auto-renew on and off for yearly subscribers?
Amen!  The stated reason for not being able to turn off autorenewal is "for my convenience," My *ss. It's for ADOBE's convenience in collecting more $.
Your account is set to auto-renew so that you don't experience any interruption in access to your product or services. I am sorry to inform, we do not have the option to disable the auto-renew feature.
If everyone who reads this opens a case asking how to turn off autorenewal that Adobe might realize it's important.
PS In my last interchange with Support I specifically requested that they CANCEL my subscription.  Guess what Adobe HASN'T done.

  • How do I prevent subscription auto-renewal?

All I want to do is to prevent auto-renewal of the photoshop annual subscription. How do I do this?

I realize my question is probably applicable to all the Creative Cloud subscription categories/software. However, the question is still unanswered. With most subscription services there is an option to prevent auto-renewal. How does Adobe do this or do I have to remember when my subscription ends, then make sure I get on-line the day before to cancel the subscription? Personally, after using the subscription for 3 months, I wish I had purchased the software directly and paid for it once. I don't want to quit now because of the terms of the Adobe contract. I just want to ensure the contract doesn't get renewed.

  • Can I sign up for a month of data with Verizon without auto renewal and how long can I go without using my sim card before it is deactivated?

When I checked out Verizon's data plans online, the only option I saw that did not involve automatic renewals was the option to pay $5 for a day of 300 MB. The other options (e.g., $20/month for 1GB) all appeared to involve automatic renewals every month unless I go in and cancel the plan. However, during a chat, a Verizon representative told me that auto renewal of the prepaid plans is an option that can be avoided, it just isn't listed in the online information. Has anyone found a way to only sign up for one month of data without having to cancel the next payment?
Also, when I looked online at a site that compared data plans, it stated that one needed to use the Verizon network every 4 months or else the sim card would be permanently deactivated. But in a couple of online discussions, the limit was listed as being 3 months. Verizon told me 6 months. Does anyone know which is currently correct?
Finally, I have heard that if the sim card does become deactivated, Verizon tends to insist on making one buy a new one with a regular data plan and not the prepaid options.Has anyone had any experience with this?

GeekBoy.from.Illinois thank you for replying. I tried the Verizon support forum, but before I can ask a question there I need to register, and the first step in registering is entering my mobile phone number. Since I don't have a Verizon phone, I can't register and, therefore, can't ask any questions. I did look through previous questions and answers, but it only confirmed that Verizon employees do not give out consistently correct information. I guess I will try talking or chatting with two of three more of them and hope that whatever the majority answers are will be the correct ones.

  • HT4098 How do I turn off auto-renew for the Guardian?

Trying to turn off auto-renew for The Guardian.  From PC.
    I did the following:
    1. Launch iTunes on your computer
    2. Choose Store>Sign In from the iTunes menu.
    3. Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted.
    4. Choose Store>View My Account. You may be asked to re-enter your Apple ID password.  Click
View Account.  (I chose "iTunes Store", in the side bar, since the word "Store" in the menu bar didn't list "My Account". Then I chose "Account" in Quick Links, on the right-hand side of the screen. I got the "Account Information" ok.)
    5. From the Account Information screen, scroll to the bottomof the page to the Settings section.
Then it said to:  6. Click "Manage" to the right of "Subscriptions".
The word "Subscriptions" does not appear in the Settings section.  Nothing in the Settings section takes me to a page on which to manage my subscriptions.

    Hi
Read this Subscribe to iTunes Match - Apple Support
This includes a section about turning off auto renew.

  • How do you turn off auto renewal if the button doesn't respond with on/off switch?

I am trying to cancel a subscription at the end of the contract period, but the auto renewal button on app store account management button doesn't respond when tapped to allow the auto renewal to be cancelled.

    Hi Jerry,
The windows i am using is Windows 7 Professional. The auto-correct page you sent me was not the problem i was talking about. I have taken some print screen shots of the actual problem i was talking about and i have numnbered from 1-4 so you can see exactly what is happening.

  • Re: Contract Automatic Renewal Issues

    Re auto renewal of contract.
I contacted BT around end of Feb 11 to advise that I wished to change supplier.
I was told I was under contract till some point in May and could not change till then.
It is now May and when the bill came in it prompted me to look at changing.
After contacting BT I was told that my contract was renewed for 12 months. I have spent a lot of time and wasted calls etc trying to sort this error and I am most unhappy with BT their service, response, attitude and the whole contactig process , (and cost).
I have decided to take my bussiness elsewhere, If BT offered a fully free service I would still chahge.
I totaly dispute this auto renewal.
    1. this was not clearly explained at the point of sale, or I would have been aware of it.
    2. When I told BT in Feb I wanted to move ,I should have been made aware rather than told , wait till may when contract is up.
3.I have had no letter 30 days prior to renewal explaining situation which I should have.
If these things had been done as they should have I would have acted on it, clearly I want to leave BT.
This matter has been refered to ofcom ref 1179422145.
I have been advised to request recording of original sales call as I belive I have been mis-sold.
This ACR was not clearly explained.
I have cancelled my direct debit as I have an outstanding bill for£171.99.
I do not want to pay in advance for services not required and do not want funds siphoned of to your blackmail fund for changing supplier.
