Does a device need constant internet access when using Adobe products?

If a user wants to use photoshop on a device that is not 1)on an network 2) does not have internet access. Is this a problem when launching the program?

Hi CarolynHayden,
No. Your application are installed directly on your computer, so you won't need an ongoing Internet connection to use them on a daily basis.
An Internet connection is required the first time you install and license your desktop apps, but you can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license.
Please let us know if this was helpful.

No. Your Creative Cloud desktop applications (such as Photoshop  and Illustrator) are installed directly on your computer, so you won't  need an ongoing Internet connection to use them on a daily basis.
An internet connection is required the first time you install and  license your desktop apps,  but you can use the apps in offline mode  with a valid software license. The desktop apps will attempt to validate  your software licenses every 30 days.
For annual members, you can use the apps for up to 99 days in offline  mode. Month-to-month members can use the software for up to 5 days in  offline mode.

Do I need an internet connection to use Adobe CC14?

    Hello,
so sorry, this Adobe website didn't change into english language: Adobe Creative Cloud – Häufig gestellte Fragen >>>  Funktionsweise  >>>  Muss ich ständig online sein, um die Desktop-Applikationen der Creative Cloud nutzen zu können?
Nein.
    What means something like:
An internet connection is required for the initial installation and licensing of desktop tools. With a valid software license, the applications can also be used offline. Note that the CC installed applications you will call every 30 days to validate your software license. You can use the installed CC applications for up to 99 days offline.

  • Re: Do I need ongoing Internet access to use my Creative Suite applications?

The update for AAM (Win) does not resolve the issue for me.  I have to login to relicense my software at least once a day.  It is very frustrating and it requires that I have internet access to use the software.
    Please resolve this quickly.

    Hi David,
Sorry for hassle, I'll see what I can do to help. The software does need to be online to do the license check every 30 days but should activate all the time like you describe. Is the machine online all the time or only intermittently?
It looks like there might have been issues with billing, I'll see what I can figure out and let you know.

I want to change Router2's Operating Mode from "Gateway" to "Router" because I
want to turn off NAT on Router2 so that I can access all computers attached to
Router2 by their individual IP instead of using port forwarding at Router2.
The problem is after the mode change from "Gateway" to "Router", and regardless
whether I disable RIP or enable RIP, and on what interfaces it is enabled, computer
192.168.2.160 does not have internet connection.
    Observations:
[0] INTRAnet works as I can reach computer 192.168.2.160 from computer behind Router1
    192.168.1.x and vice versa.
[1] ping and traceroute *work* on Router2 itself using the built-in dianostic tool.
[2] nslookup on computer 192.168.2.160 always works on new lookup. It uses
    192.168.2.1 as the resolver.
[3] tcptraceroute stops after step 2:
    [pre]
    # tcptraceroute yahoo.com
Selected device enp2s0, address 192.168.2.160, port 45999 for outgoing packets
Tracing the path to yahoo.com (98.139.183.24) on TCP port 80 (http), 30 hops max
     1  192.168.2.1  2.553 ms  0.534 ms  0.638 ms
     2  192.168.1.1  1.342 ms  0.964 ms  0.867 ms
     3  * * *
    [/pre]
[4] tcpdump shows that computer 192.168.2.160 tries to reach out and nothing is returned:
    [pre]
    13:34:03.172828 IP 192.168.2.160.45999 > 98.139.183.24.http: Flags [S], seq 1122548929, win 0, length 0
    13:34:06.175786 IP 192.168.2.160.45999 > 98.139.183.24.http: Flags [S], seq 1122548929, win 0, length 0
    13:34:09.178804 IP 192.168.2.160.45999 > 98.139.183.24.http: Flags [S], seq 1122548929, win 0, length 0
    [/pre]
This is not expected because NAT to internet should still be done by Router1, no? Computer
behind Router1 with IP 192.168.1.x has internet connection.
[5] It looks like I cannot change the Routing Table Entry on Router2. I do not think I need to change anything,
    just an observation.
[6] If I use LAN to LAN connection, then both intranet and internet works. [The internet IP of Router2 can be
anything not in the same subnet of the Router1, and DHCP on the local side should be disabled to avoid conflict
with the the DHCP on Router1].

I have a question. Unfortunately in order to ask my question, I have to have a lengthy description of my setup. Basically, I have a second Linksys router in "router" operating mode with NAT disabled connected to the Verizon router, and I have a computer which is in a different subnet (192.168.2.x) behind the Linksys router. This computer can communicate with computers behind Verizon router in subnet (192.168.1.x), but cannot reach internet. This is a simplified version of my question, full details are in the original post.
If I setup the Linksys router in "gateway" operating mode, which means with NAT enabled, then both intranet and internet works, but there is no easy way to setup port forwarding for 10 compueters in 192.168.2.x network to communicate with 10 computers in 192.168.1.x network.
If I setup the Linksys router in a LAN to LAN configuration with Verizon routers, but this way all computers are in the same subnet, I want them to be in different subnet for access control and things like that.
I hope this makes things a little clear.
    Thanks.

  • Does AppleTV really need an internet connection

Just a quick question - does AppleTV really need an internet connection. I am really struggling with the same syncing problems that many people describe on these forums. AppleTV will show on my devices now and again, it tries to authorise with iTunes, syncs for a while and as long as it is connected and showing in the device list I can view any of my movies, TV programs or music on my AppleTV.
But for some unknown reason the Apple TV fails to sync properly, disappears from the devices list and then tells me that there is no content stored on my AppleTV. Very frustrating as you can imagine. Everything checks out - I have good signal strength, can browse the iTunes store and Youtube but the syncing just isn't working.
I have read about problems with the BT Home Hub that I am using for my wireless network and despite taking the recommend steps to open the relevant ports on the hub to allow my AppleTV and computers to talk to each other properly I encounter the same problems.
As a solution I was thinking that I could buy a wireless router and create a network that is separate from the network that I have for the internet and try syncing through that. I don't really want to spend money on a new router unless it is likely to solve the problem.
    What do you think?

Thanks for all the comments guys.
Latest update: I decided to try it and have had some success. I acquired a basic Netgear wireless router and set it up in isolation from my BT Home Hub network. I used the basic settings wizard and let it do it's thing.
The AppleTV does show in my devices list however it does disappear randomly every now and again. Syncing has worked although for some reason I can only sync one item at a time - leaving me to have to repeatedly hit sync on iTunes, which is irritating but much less than not being able to sync anything at all. I have since dedicated my old iBook to the new network to act as my media machine.
Conclusion: I'm not sold on this as a solution but as I'm not bothered about accessing the internet through AppleTV it suits me for now. I just wish that I had not bothered with AppleTV and just got a MacMini. For all the hassle and the usability issues I would gladly have paid the extra £200 or whatever.
When it works the AppleTV is great but when it doesn't I just want to throw it out of the window.

does 2012 mac mini get very hot when using logic pro

Are you saying that your machine does or is it an enquiry before buying ? I use a 2011 server model - well, it does get hot over a period of time, but I've very rarely heard the fan kick in, its a surprise when it does. As far as I know the casing has been specifically designed to conduct heat, rather than having any fancy grilles and so on, being so small in size. I haven't found it to be cause for concern, if that's any help.

This is due to the hardware acclerated drawing not working properly because your graphics hardware doesn't support it right. This is usually resolved by updating the graphics driver to the latest version. If this is not possible, turn off OpenGL in Preferences --> Performance.

Do you need a internet connection to use youtube?

The only alternative would be to download the video from YouTube on your computer and then, presuming it's one of the h.264 videos (Flash videos will not work on an iPod touch), you could then probably load it onto your iPod and view it with the iPod needing to be connected to the Internet. But you still need an Internet connection for your computer.

  • I cannot open pdf files from one supplier when using Adobe Reader but I can using another Viewer

I cannot open pdf files from one supplier when using Adobe Reader but I can open it if using Google PDF viewer or another viewer. The Adobe reader gives the error "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired" when I try to open the file. The version of Adobe Reader is 10.1.7, however I have tried other versions and they all fail the same way.  I have tested on a number of different PC's in different networks and all fail using Adobe Reader but work using alternate viewer. Also the PC's will open a PDF from any other source.

Newer Reader versions are more strict than older versions (and other PDF viewers).  If certain minimum requirements are not met, Reader will tell you that the PDF is damaged.  This can happen when a document was created with software that does not adhere to PDF standards, or when the file was damaged during a download or email transmission.
You should contact the creator of these PDFs.
