Does a NETGEAR - Wireless-N Router work with a the dell mini g card?

I want to purchase a dell laptop with a dell mini g card. Will the Netgear Wireless-N Router Model- WNR2000 work with it? It's extra for the dell mini n card. I don't want to have to pay extra for that if I don't have to. Thanks

Unless you are transferring a large amount of data between computers or a media device attached to a home theater system, wireless N is merely going to give you better range.

I'm looking for a backup solution for my new MacBook Air and I don't want to spend $200 extra for a Time Capsule when an NAS would do the job.

No. TM will not backup to any NAS other than Time Capsule

  • Installed a wireless canon Pixma MX432 printer back in November for use with my Mac Book Air. All was working normally until this past week when I began getting a message, "printer not connected." What is going on? Netgear Wireless N Router seems to be ok

My new canon Pixma MX432 printer is not printing. It was printing fine until about ten days ago. I use a Netgear Wireless N router, which is also new. What do I need to do. I get a message when trying to print that says "printer not connected." In addition, my old Gateway laptop will still print fine apparently because it has a cable connection to the printer. Puzzled!

Have you tried rebooting the router? I would unplug it, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in. Be sure you know the password etc. if that doesn't work, try unplugging and rebooting the printer. Good luck!

The laptop and desktop both will access the Internet and work when hardwired through the router's Ethernet ports. When trying to access wireless, the Laptop shows to be connected to the router and also to Internet, but Internet Explorer can not access any websites.  Suggestions? Thanks.

what ip address does the laptop get ?? ensure that the laptop is not set for a static ip add....and it gets an ip add from the router ..

A wireless printer connects to the network just like your computer, or iPhone/iPad, etc. connects using wireless.
The printer must be set up intially to scan to "find" available wireless networks, then your specific wireless network needs to be selected. Then the password for the network needs to be entered.
Once the printer is configured to join the network, it is always connected to the network. No further configuration is required.

  • Setting Up LG Wireless Adaptor to work with WRT54G router

My parents recently bought a High Def LG television and they got a wireless LG Adaptor for it (AN-WF100). My brother was able to insall it, but when we try to connect to the router, we get an error message saying that DHCP needs to be enabled. From what I can see when I go into the router settings, DHCP is enabled. We are pulling our hair out trying to figure out what settings we need on the router to make this work. We have tried both setting up the connection automatically and manually with the IP, Gateway, etc. I don't know what other information is needed, but I will provide further details if anyone has any ideas. We also have two applications set up under the Applications and Gaming tab (Nintendo DS and Wii). I don't know if that could be interfering with anything. Any help would be appreciated!

The WEP/WPA was set by the one who configured the router. Make sure you are entering the correct character and it is case sensitive.

  • Does airport extreme 802.11a/c work with airport express 802.11n

does airport extreme 802.11a/c work with airport express 802.11n

"You can use the AirPort Express to extend the signal provided by the new AirPort, but the Express will not extend "ac" wireless since it does not have that capability. The Express will extend an "n" wireless signal if that helps."
This is what I am trying to understand.
So AXTRM w/ sep SSID for 2.4 (b/g/n) - call it SSID1 - and 5GHz (ac) call it SSID2 - WiFi Explorer confirms AC mode on 5G.
Using an AXPRESS to extend - I have the option of SSID1 b/g/n *and* the 5GHz ac SSID2 in the pulldown (it sees both?) --> if I select SSID1, it also extends this same SSID in 5GHz (both showing b/g/n) >> so I now have 3 signals on SSID1 (XTRM 2.4G, XPRS 2.4G and XPRS 5G) b/g/n and one signal on SSID2 (XTRM 5G AC) ac
    If I select the 5Ghz ac SSID2 to extend - it prompts me "do you also want to extend (the 2.4GHz SSID1)?" --> select yes and I now have 2 signals for SSID (XTRM 2.4G & XPRS 2.4G) b/g/n and 2 signals on SSID2 (XTRM 5G 802.11ac & XPRS 5G 802.11 a//n)
Is the 5G SSID2 actually being extended from the Airport Extreme to the Express?
The reason I bring this up is I am having a lot of issues since iOS8 came out (especially on iPhone 6). Everything I am reading is pointing to when people have 2 AP's set to use the same SSID. When you walk to a part of the house where 5G 802.11 ac signal marginalizes, the phone does not immediately hand over to the 5G 802.11 a/n Airport Express.
My thought was separate the SSID's but to me, if the Express can't extend 5Ghz from the Extreme, it's taking a step backwards. I am better off getting a more powerful router like an ASUS and going with one AP, drop the WiFi roaming altogether
    Any thoughts?

  • Can my Router work with ADSL2/ VDSL?

I have been using a Linksys Wireless-G ADSL  WAG200G, Annex-A  Gateway Router and it has been fine, now my ISP have told me that they are modernising the network and will need a router capable of managing ADSL2/ VDSL connections, so will my router be able to do that or will I have to buy a new one? It has firmware 1.01.09, any info would be much appreciated.
Edit: I see in the DSL Modulation menu which is set at present to "Multimode" I also have options to select ADSL2, ADSL2+, ADSL2 AnnexM, ADSL2+ AnnexM and ASDL2 AnnexL but I do not see any mention of "VDSL"
    Solved!

No. The router does not support VDSL. You'll need a new modem. This "problem" is the main reason why I generally recommend to get a separate, simple modem and an ethernet router. The ethernet router works independent from the access technology, i.e. you can switch the technology from ADSL to VDSL or to cable and all you have to change is the modem and you still can continue to use the router.
You would only have to upgrade the ethernet router if it's too old and slow to handle your new internet speed...

  • Trouble getting Dlink DWL-G820 wireless bridge to work with wrt610n

I'm trying to get some dlink wireless bridges to work with wrt610n, but not having any luck.  I left Wrt610n router with default "192.168.1.1" IP address and configured bridges accordingly with "192.168.1.xxx" adresses.
Wireless bridges not happy.  Any ideas ?  The bridges were working fine when i was using "192.168.0.xxx" ip addresses with wrt610n
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Well I'll give you full points for reading my question, but zero points for quality of answer.  If it was that simple I would have done it.
Unfortunately circumstances have changed and I have both a 192.168.0.xxx LAN & 192.168.1.xxx LAN now and the DWL-G820 (Dlink) wireless bridges must be part of the 192.168.1.xxx LAN (WRT610N Linksys router).  For some reason they won't work when I configure them to be part of a 192.168.1.xxx LAN.
I'm beginning to think it's a diabolical plot by either Linksys or Dlink to prevent each other's equipment from working together.

  • Trying to get a 3rd Party Router working with BT I...

    Hi,
I'm trying to move away from the HHub5 on our FTTC BT Infinity connection (40Mb/s). Eventually I settled on a TP-Link WDR 3600 N600 - the flavour which is happy to talk to cable modems and take an OpenWRT install.
So far I've hooked up a BT OpenReach "white box" modem using the HHub's RJ11 lead, going from the DSL filter into the OpenReach modem's DSL socket.  The modem's DSL LED lights up solid green - which I presume is good?  The TP-Link router is up & running fine with OpenWRT installed, I can connect to it over WiFi and I've hooked up its WAN connection to the OpenReach modem's LAN1 socket (LAN2 is blanked out).
But whatever I put in the router's PPPoE settings I just can't get an internet connection to come up.  So far I've used '[email protected] (as it's set on the HHub) and a few other suggestions from the forums including 'anything you like' @btinternet.com and @btbroadband.com - nothing seems to get the connection going.
Is there something I've missed or can anyone suggest a solution?
    Many thanks,
    Steve

Sorry to answer my own question, but in case it helps anyone in the future:
I had to put my username in the username AND password fields - same details in both.  I've not seen this written  anywhere online, everyone says to leave the password field blank as it's unused.
So to recap - this is what got my TP-LINK WDR3600 (OpenWRT based) router working with Infinity: stick [email protected] in the PPPoE usernamd AND password fields.

  • Does Microsoft Entourage 2008 for mac work with the new Mac OS X v 10.7 Lion

Does Microsoft Entourage 2008 for mac work with the new Mac OS X v 10.7 Lion?
I am just about to install Lion just need to check to see if if my work e-mail will work

    Sarah,
    Check this link:
    http://roaringapps.com/app:2533
It contains some issues that people have encountered with Lion and Office 2008. It appears it can work, but you may have to go through some of the steps a few of the posters there have listed.
That website also contains a pretty large list of applications and if they will work with Lion.
Hope this helps! (I am not affiliated in any way with the site linked).
