Does a sim card improve reception over CDMA?

I Had problems with people understanding me on my droid pro. I dropped it in the mudd a few times so I figured the mike was plugged or got wet. after cleaning and removing the skin cover it still didnt work so I purchased another brand new in a box from cellphone shop.net for verizon service.
It did not come with a sim card but it activated just fine. my contacts came in from google but the phone said "no sim card" operating on CDMA. All data ,text and (voice comming in) work fine but my wife says I still sound garbled. How do I reactivate a phone with a sim card in? I tried unchecking the voice encription option, no skinn protector in front of the mic and its doing the same thing the 1st phone did with the sim card. is it droid Pro?
Thanks,
Andy

The DROID Pro only needs the SIM card for overseas access to the GSM networks. It isn't needed to use it on the Verizon Wireless network. Try reprogramming the phone to the Verizon Wireless network. Dial *228, option 1.

Both iPhones use the same size SIM Cards. You will be able to simply transfer the iPhone 5 SIM Card to the iPhone 5C SIM Card Tray.

  • Does a capture card improve real time functions?

I am reading posts regarding capture cards and i figured for DV material, capture card may not be necessary as firewire is there. but does capture cards improve the effeciency of the machine /CPU , does it render faster and play more real time effects?
    thanks

The Aurora is a Standard Definition card and the Decklink is an HD card. I don't have them both installed at the same time...I put in what I need. Right now I am working with HD so I have the decklink card in.
AJA I/O is a standard definition "solution." I say solution because it isn't a capture card per se, but rather an external box that captures SD signals (SDI, Component, Composite) and inputs them into FCP via a firewire connection to the computer. This allows it to be used on multiple machines easily. The Kona series are High Def cards that need to be installed in the PCI slots of your computer.
What is my workflow with the DSR-11? Probably the same as you. DV/NTSC Easy Setup, then connect it to the computer via firewire and capture. When I am done, I output back to tape. What else is there to do with this?
Codecs? DV, 8-bit uncompressed SD, DCPRO 50, DVCPRO HD. Depends on the project I am working on and how it was shot.
10-bit uncompressed DV? DV by nature is compressed 5:1 when it is recorded to tape. When you capture that via firewire from your DSR-11 deck, you are capturing it at the highest possible quality. It is simply a file transfer. Now, if you were delivering on DV then you don't need a capture card. But if you were, say, needing to deliver a digibeta master, or betasp, then you'd need a capture card to output to that format...uprezzing the DV footage to 8-bit uncompressed (better color space, beter codec for graphics and stils) and output. 10-bit is overkill for DV.
My workflow depends on the footage I am given and the format I need to master to. My HD workflow differs greatly from my DV workflow, which differs from my SD Uncompressed workflow. To go into detail of each would mean writing an article, and I am too busy editing to do that.

  • Why does my Sim card keep saying that it is not installed?

Someone please explain why my Iphone 4 keeps saying that no sim card is installed.I have to keep taking it out and putting it back in. I have even got a new sim card and it still does it. I thought it was my case putting too much pressure on the sim card spot even out of its case it still pops up. Can this be an easy fix or somthing major wrong? What can I do?

The SIM card is not saying anything.
The device is reporting "SIM not installed".
    Remove and reinstall the SIM.
    Replace the SIM.
If the neither of those resolves the issues, take the device to Apple for evaluation.

  • What does a Sim card add to the functionality of an iPad mini?

The suject line is the question!

The sim card allows the Cellular model iPad to connect to a cellular/mobile carrier's network for internet so that you are not required to be connected to a Wifi network all the time.
The Cellular connection requires a Data plan just like your cell/mobile phone to access the internet. Most Carriers offer these plans for a monthly fee.

  • I bought an iphone sprint carrier on ebay but i want to know if the phone is going to work for an international carrier movistar which is gsm due to the phone does have a sim card slot , what do i need to do ?

help me how can i get my phone to work in movistar which is my carrier in ecuador gsm . sprint iphones does have sim card slot but i'm not sure if it will work for gsm what do i need to do , how do i unlock it

IF the phone was unlocked by Sprint for international use, it will work on any compatible (non U.S.) GSM carrier.
If it was NOT unlocked before you acquired it, you will need to move to the US and establish service with Sprint, then wait the minimum amount of time specified by their policy before they will agree to unlock it for you.
If you are not a Sprint customer, you bought the wrong phone.

  • Will the CDMA iPhone work if I change the plates to support the sim card?

I need to find out if replacing the different plates on the iPhone CDMA version to the plates of the GSM version will allow me to use a sim card.

The iPhone 4 CDMA and GSM are vastly different iPhones. There will be no possible way to make this work. Very few of the parts are even interchangeable between the two iPhones. Everything inside is different, you cannot even swap the back plates or even the front screens, let alone the logic boards, or even radio chips even if you owned a computer manufacturing plant.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes, you can, if you have a SIM card in the device (CDMA devices don't require a SIM, but often come with one for the GSM frequencies).
I am not sure why you would want to do so... the SIM will ONLY save a one number per name, no addresses or emails, etc.

  • Please post pictures of your sim cards

I saw something on a tear down of an iphone that has me very curious, could you please post pictures of your SIM cards please, so I could see if it was a 1 time thing or if it's a indicator of things to come. Does your SIM card have a fire ball with 3G on it?

The SIM card with the 3G logo is just a standard AT&T SIM. I went to an AT&T store to add a line to my parents family plan, and they handed me one of those "3G" SIM cards (I never told them I had an iPhone). Nothing to speculate about...

  • HT201328 Switching non AT&T sim cards

Once I unlock my iPhone with a non AT&T sim card can I then switch to a different non AT&T sim card or is the unlock tied to a specific sim card? Does that sim card need to be currently active?

Are you saying that AT&T "officially" unlocked your iPhone?  And now you want to use a different Sim?
    Hope this helps
