Does ACR 100 sharpening = PS4 100 sharpening amount?

I'd like to do my capture sharpening in ACR in Bridge then do output in PS4, but the Bridge sharpening Amount range is 1-150, while PS has an Amount range of 1-500; and an even more dramatic difference in "pixel" settings (ACR has .5 - 3.0 while PS has 1-64). I've read that the ACR sharpening is basically USM (unsharp mask), so is there  any way to correlate these numbers? For instance, if I apply 150 in ACR does that equal 150% in PS or is the scale different so that ACR's 150 = PS 500% for an incremental increase of 3.3?

It looks like to me that the render engine does not stop after reaching 100%. It does not affect the rendered file which is fine and complete

I really like the program though and hope you are going to fine tune the UI and make it look like After Effect and Premiere.
I would encourage you to instaure round tripping between these two apps and SG.
It would be nice to have curves as well.

Could you open the defaultTrace.X.trc files and check for the errors?
Good from my point of view is to make a search if those files for some stack traces with the string ".dsr."

  • Does ACR save JPEG & TIFF files like RAW files are saved?

I know ACR saves RAW file edits to side-car files, not permanently changing the original file. Does ACR do the same for JPEG and TIFF files when they are opened, edited and saved? Thanks.

I wonder if Kelby could have been confused by the fact that the metadata describing the Camera Raw settings is being stored back into the JPEG file.  The key is that the JPEG file is indeed re-written, but the actual image data is not changed.
Here's an experiment you can try for yourself:
    1.  Start Photoshop, and choose File - Open As...
    2.  Change the type to Camera Raw, and choose a JPEG file that you have on your disk, and press [Open].
    3.  When Camera Raw comes up, push the Exposure control all the way to -4.00 EV and press [Open Image].
    4.  Note that it's very dark, as expected.
    5.  Close the document, do not save.
    6.  Note that the JPEG file has been updated on your disk by seeing that its date and time are current.
    7.  Choose File - Open As... again and open the same JPEG file.
    8.  Note that the Exposure control is set again to -4.00 EV and the preview is very dark.
    9.  [Cancel] the Camera Raw dialog.
    10.  Open the same JPEG file from Windows Explorer using the Windows Photo Viewer.  Note that it is NOT dark.  The original JPEG data is still intact, as bright as it ever was.

  • Create popup - 100% width x 100% height

I'm trying to create a popup window using PopUpManager and a
TitleWindow that will cover the entire application. In other words,
    I'm looking to have a 100% width x 100% height. Unfortuntely, this
doesn't seem to be working - only absolute widths/heights seem to
    be working.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

That is not surprising. Popups are not exactly rooted within
the application, so relative sizing will not work. Try getting the
application size form the width/height properties at run time and
    setting the popup size accordingly.

I can only hope Apple read these things and look into it.
    Thanks anyway.
Do try uk-max's suggestion. Othewise, keep an eye on the battery level that does work so you don't wind up with a dead battery and can't re-pair it (because the battery is dead.....).
FWIW, Apple is aware of the issue; I sent in a bug report - I've heard of several being stuck at 57%, some at 100%. On mine, it was always the wrong percentage showing in the Bluetooth menu bar.
For anyone else: we are not discussing laptop batteries, but the battery level of the magic trackpad (or mouse, for that matter) - both are bluetooth, both have batteries, and there has been a problem showing the correct battery level for both.

  • Why does iphone stop charging at 100%?

I leave my phone plugged into the charger all night because I use one of the many alarm clock apps as my clock/alarm clock. Each morning, though, the battery is charged only to about 93-96% (presumably because when it hit 100% it stopped charging, but the alarm clock drained the battery).
Is there a way to have the phone resume charging if it dips below 100%?
    Thank you.

Hi M to the C: Yes indeed the battery does stop charging at 100%. No damage will be done by leaving the charger attached. I leave my charger attached whenever I am near an AC outlet.

  • Does MSI 5850/70 have 100% fan speed for 2-3 secs when turning computer on?

    Hi,
I currently have radeon 4870 and would like to upgrade to dx11 hardware. I seems that there are a lot of 4870/5850/5870 cards with stock coolers having this feature: they spin fan at 100% for couple seconds when I turn conputer on. And I don´t really like it. Question is, does MSI 3-in-1 High Efficiency Fan behave similarly on 5850/5870 series? If it does, can it be turn off using Afterburner or BIOS modding?

Yup, all new(er) cards do it, from any brand/manufacturer, so its not just an MSI thing.
And no there  is no way to turn it off, unless you can write bioscode, or perhaps mount a different aftermarket cooler.
But why do you want to turn it off, like mentioned, they do this for a reason and its only a few seconds.
Ive said it before and I say it once, the sound is too short and too high pitched to wake people up, unless they sleep next to the computer.
Also, if you mod bios, or mount an aftermarket cooler and some goes wrong, bye bye warranty.

  • Why does my battery stay at 100% for ages and then plummet at 100mph?

Since I updated to iOS7 my battery meter stays at 100% every bit as long as it did on iOS6 but then once it starts falling it really speeds up. The first 10% go fairly slowly, the second 10% falls even quicker and it continues in this vein. The last 10% is over in a flash. I have calibrated my battery six or seven times in succession and my battery meter always drops to 1%, it never switches off earlier than it should but I just don't understand this non-linear battery meter reading. It never used to act like this in iOS6.

I had this problem over the weekend. It's very annoying.
Anyway, I read your posts and some others and the only thing that's changed on my phone since I was last abroad and didn't have this problem is that I enabled MobileMe to track the location of my phone.
    Makes sense.
The app is constantly trying to update apple with the whereabouts of the phone. With data roaming turned off, it can't do it, so tries and tries again and the phone never gets into standby. Make a wifi connection and it's fine for a few hours as it can update the location, but next time it tries if you're off the wifi it'll frantically try again.
This also explains why it doesn't have the problem if data roaming is left on, as it can carry on reporting location as usual (at your expense).
Also, because you configure it in the mail account settings, that explains why you get the message about data roaming being turned off every time you look at your messages.
Try removing the MobileMe account from your phone - you'll see the battery drain goes back to normal.
Apple should fix this bug - they just need to change the app so it checks whether data roaming is turned on or not before updating location. Maybe a message saying MobileMe needs data roaming turned on to work abroad, or maybe it could just check if it's enabled and if not, don't try to make the connection until the phone is no longer roaming. The problem is if your phone is stolen and goes abroad, without MobileMe doing what it's supposed to be doing your data is compromised and you won't have the cool remote erasing functionality etc.
    Oh well!

  • Ipad(4th gen) does not connect to Laserjet 100 color MFP M175nw for AirPrinting

    Hi,
I have a problem with Laserjet 100 color MFP M175nw and Airprinting.
Ipad(4th gen) cannot connect to printer for AirPrinting.
Wireless Direct is set on in the printer.
When I choose to connect to printers own wifi network with my Ipad, it can't connect.
(Ipad doesn't show the wifi symbol on top left corner.)
And if I try to print with Safari, it says "AirPrint-tulostimia ei löytynyt" which means in english "No Airprint-printers found".
I have all installations by the guide book several times, but seems that this Airprint simple doesn't work.
    Device Configuration show this:
    Installed Personalities and Options
    PCL6           (20040201)
    AirPrint
    PCL              (20040201)
    PDF              (20040201)
    PS                 (20040201)
I wonder why AirPrint has empty value? (what ever this  might mean)
    Br,
    Heikki

    Hi,
Thank you for your reply and first action plan to find a quick fix.
Unfortunatelly even though I disabled IPv6, it didn't fix the problem. Also reboot and WIFI restart has been tryed sevelar times without any help. Ipad Safari is still giving me a message "no airprint printer found".
Same problem also when I try to print so that both Ipad and printer are  connected to my home WLAN/DSL-router.
I don't see any problems for the printer to connect my home WLAN,  both printer and Ipad has received an IP address from the WLAN router.
My router model is Zyxel AMG1202-T10B.
Ipad is updated to it's latest SW version which is 7.0.6. and printer's firmware date is 20131028.
I have no problems printing with my Windows 7 desktop computer which is connected to same network as well.
Windows 7 PC is connected to router via Ethernet. Printer is connected to router via Wireless, not ethernet.

Since leopard is installed on my iMac G5, iMovie 08 has never come up. iLife 08 was already installed.

No solutions, but something to try. Try re-installing iLife 08 now that you have installed Leopard.

    Hi experts,
We used command 'prstat -J -n 1,100 -z global 1 1' to obtain the project statistics.
One of my customer who have around 800 processes with around 300 users facing problem on his machine whenver the above prstat command executed. As per his comments 'prstat' consuming high CPU.
He has using machine with following configuraton:

I would like to tell you why don't you bind the particular process using solaris resource manager.

  • Do I can create a formula if does cell 1 more then 100 should be a picture in large in another cell?

    A

    Hi Abraham,
Numbers treats photos as a special kind of fill. We can't really fetch a photo into a cell. With conditional highlighting (Hi Naikosen!) we could reveal an image fill already placed. Here is maybe a screenshot:
I pasted an image into the cell. I made a conditional highlighting rule that if the value of the cell is less than 100 the fill is white. The number has to be in the same cell. I shaped the cell so the number is not intrusive to the image.

  • Does STARTTLS make an email 100% secure?

Get an email certificate from someone like Comodo, it can be used to verify an email hasn't been modified and if both parties have the correct keys it can be used for encryption.

STARTTLS does not ensure a message can only be read by the intended recipient. It secures the SMTP session from one server to another.  There is no way to guarantee that STARTTLS will used once the message has left your server.  Also STARTTLS does not actually protect the message itself so even if the message is transferred via STARTTLS the message still is not protected on the recipients mail server.  If you want to ensure the message can only be read by the intended recipient you'll need to use some form of end to end encryption such as SMIME, PGP, or a third party service such as Virtru.

  • What is "uninstalld" and why does it take up nearly 100% of CPU?

I recently upgraded from 2 to 4GB of RAM because my iMac was running slow. It works better now but my activity monitor shows only 45MB free right now even though I'm only using Safari. In the monitor window it says that "uninstalld" (without the e) is taking up 99.3% of CPU. How can that be and what can I do about it? Thanks.

Select that process and kill it in Activity Monitor, see if it comes back.
