Does Acrobat 12 (Acrobat DC) require each user to create an Adobe ID?

I work in a University environment and we'd rather not force everyone who uses one of our Stand-Alone licenses to create an Adobe ID in order to use Acrobat. Is there a way to create an installer that just asks for the Serial Number? I did some reading that you could disable the cloud functions and that would probably be in the same ballpark, but can't find anything about not having to create and ID.  Ideally, we would like for users to just have the same features they had in 11 without creating an Account, without having cloud functions and without having to do too much work on the back end to make that happen (there are only two of us in the office and we don't have a ton of spare time to figure it out).  Thanks

I create the 64- bit package in CCP using the enterprise license and have two folders -  build and exceptions
In previous versions of Acrobat, I would make a two step task sequence:
1. install from exceptions deployer using the following command: ExceptionDeployer --workflow=install --mode=pre --installLanguage=en_US
followed by
2. the MSI from the deploy folder - msiexec.exe /q ALLUSERS=2 /m MSINMSNP /i "Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.msi"
This procedure no longer works so I have tried several things that also don't work.
If I first try to install from Adobe Acrobat DC\Exceptions\APRO15.0en_US\Adobe Acrobat using setup.exe, the program bombs out asking for a serial number (not the one I use in CCP to create the package - that one does not work)
If I start with \Adobe Acrobat DC\Build it bombs out and gives me no feedback at all
So, I am stumped. I can get nothing to run from the command line without bombing out. Usually I can install this package manually before I make a deployment for SCCM. This time, I can't do it without it asking for a serial number (one that is different from the one I use in CCP to create the package)
Perhaps Ashishes post below describes the right order?

  • Does Acrobat IX provide the ability to create borders around graphics?

I am writing a book and want to create a 5 pixel border around some letters that have been scanned in order to define their size.
I know that Microsoft Word 2007 has that ability. Does Acrobat IX???

No. Acrobat is not an image or a text editor and should not be used for such editing tasks. And I doubt you can do it in Word, either, since the text in question is a part of an image if it was scanned.

  • Why does Firefox 33.1.1 require a User Account Control dialog before loading?

I am unable to stop FF from requiring the User Account Control dialog box before it will load. I uninstalled and reinstalled a clean copy, which worked the first time, and then re-established the UAC dialog on subsequent starts. This is incredibly annoying. It has never happened before with FF. How do I stop this behavior? I will stop using the damn program if this can't be fixed.

Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
    * Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
    * "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
If you can't make the changes then you need to start Windows Explorer as Administrator.

  • Require other users to create a password

I don't think this is all that difficult, I just can't figure it out.  at the firehouse where I work we recently purchased an iMac with 10.7 on it.  I created a user account for everyone here, but since it's a firehouse there is concern for unauthorized access and the potential, with out being crass, "problems" that may arise from such access.  is there a way that I (I have admin privileges on the computer) can require the guys to create a password the first, or next in some cases, time they log in?
    I appreciate your help.
    Andy

Since you're the admin, you can control it by ensuring that all accounts you create have passwords. You might have to start over, deleting the accounts, recreating them, and having the troops add a password during the process. Make sure all of those other accounts are standard ones. Once that's done, disable auto login. The machine's administrator, you, necessarily has everyone's trust or the community machine isn't viable. Good luck.

  • Why does Acrobat XI installed via CC ask me for Adobe Software License Agreement?

When I try to open a pdf with Acrobat XI Pro installed via Creative Cloud, after few second it starts Adobe Application Manager, it opens a completely blank window titled Adobe Software License Agreement asking to Accept. It's pointless to clic the Accept button: it doesn't do anything and Acrobat is unusable.

Try unmounting the volume on your iMac using Disk Utility. Then mount it again. You may need to reboot the laptop or relaunch its Finder process (using the Force Quit window) after remounting the drive on your iMac. Remember that no process may be accessing any files on the drive you plan to unmount, or the unmount will fail. Unmounting and remounting an external drive on my iMac made it become visible on my MacBook Pro after it had disappeared.

  • Acrobat 7 requires admin password at every launch for non admin users?

acrobat 7 requires admin password at every launch for non admin users?
any one with a solution or similar problem?
    thanks for any help.

I've been avidly following all of the threads regarding this issue...yet none of the solutions have worked for me. I've got 11 Mac users that do not use the Creative Suite..only Acrobat, Quark, etc. I've tried installing and re-installing through both Admin and User accounts, I've tried the AdobeBib XML change, I've tried enabling Root and installing, changing permission on the Acrobat folder, etc. all to no avail. I still get asked for Admin Authentication every time Acrobat and Distiller are opened (except on the Admin account side). This is happening on one particular Mac (G4, 1GB Ram, OS 10.4.3) for both Acrobat Standard 6 and 7 as well. The biggest issue that also happens in tandem with the Acrobat installs is the inability to print from Quark. I get the following error when printing: "The process "pictwpstops" terminated unexpectedly on signal 6." Because of the necessity to print Quark documents, I have uninstalled all Acrobat on the machines until we can get a fix. This resolves the printing problem with Quark. The only option left is to set up all users as Admin accounts - which I really do not want to do. Any other suggestions out there? I've got more information available if needed.

  • Why does acrobat reader crash upon opening in iMac os 10.10.1

why does acrobat reader crash upon opening in iMac os 10.10.1

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if Safari crashed, you would enter "Safari" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • Does Acrobat support KSP?

I have a question about SHA-256 signature in AcrobatX.
I tried SHA-256 electronic signature to a PDF file using Acrobat on Windows 7.
In Acrobat XI, I could create electronic signature with SHA-256 by KSP.
However, in Acrobat X, I received the following error.
    (I use same signature mechanism.)
The Windows Cryptographic Service Provider reported an error:
      The keyset is not defined.
      Error Code 2148073497
Does Acrobat X support both CSP and KSP? or only CSP?
To careate electronic signature with SHA-256 by KSP in Acrobat X, SDK should be required?

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
As you mentioned, CSP is Cryptographic Service Provider.
KSP stands for "Key Storage Provider" which is a provider like CSP.
KSP is a provider used in CNG(Crptography Next Generation) implemented from Windows Vista.
I want to create SHA-256 signature in Operating System later than Windows Vista.
However, when CSP is specified to create SHA-256 signature, the signature created is SHA-1.
Therfore, I implemented SHA-256 signature using "KSP".
In Acrobat XI, I could create SHA-256 signature by KSP as I expected.
But, in Acrobat X, KSP did not work and I received error message "The keyset is not defined".
    (The signature mechanism is same.)
Therefore, I guess that Acrobat X doesn't support KSP.
    Is that correct?

  • Does acrobat has any option to read pdf content objects(stamps, layers, images etc) without using pl

Does acrobat has any option to read pdf content objects(stamps, layers, images etc) without using plug-in in c#.net ?
My requirement is read a pdf file and extract all the page objects(stampls, layers and images) along with its coordinates. Is it possible to get without using plug-ins in c#.net ?
    Please hlep me.

    These are very different things.
JavaScript has some access to layers (called OCG). Layers are just names and have no coordinates to retrieve.
Stamps may be annotations; there is some minimal access to these too I think. It may be hard to identify what is, and is not, a stamp even with a plug-in.
Images are part of the actual page contents, and are only accessible to plug-ins.

  • Why does Acrobat prompt me to sign up when I need to export to excel?

Why does Acrobat prompt me to sign up when I need to export to excel?

    Hi shirlaowry,
I checked your account (using the same email address that you use here in the forums), and I don't see that you have any subscriptions. If you're using Adobe Reader, you need either an ExportPDF or Adobe PDF Pack subscription to convert a PDF file to Word.
(Acrobat, as opposed to Reader, lets you save directly to Word format, and does not require a separate subscription for that functionality.)
Please let us know if you have additional questions.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Does Acrobat Pro Subscription Extend to Tablet?

I would like to print ("share") to pdf from my Samsung tablet.  I note that my subscription includes use on mobile devices.  However, when I attempt to share to pdf, I'm caught in a dialogue that invites me to subscribe to the PDF pack.  I can't discern where I am to enter my existing subscription credentials.  Does Acrobat's mobile support extend to Android devices?

I don't think you need a serial number.  I did the same thing you did... month to month Acrobat Pro and I found that it works fine with no serial number.  When you log in to your account it can tell that you have a subscription.  If you stop paying I think it will stop working.  Probably they designed it that way to make sure you continue to pay each month.

I am running both programs on an Intel Mac (same machine), 10.5.8 Progam.  My Acrobat Standard 6.0 pulls in the scanner immediately, but my Pro 9 will not recognize the scanner.  Is there something I have to do to get the Pro 9 to recognize the same scanner?
