Does Acrobat Pro 9 allow a second installation ?

I have a need to use Acrobat Pro away from my desktop...  Are there any problems doing another install on a laptop ?
Thanks much
Julien

    My Daughter likes to create Calendars, as a Document,  in Mircrosoft Publisher; does Acrobat Pro have a similar feature? do make such a document?

    No, but that's not a problem. Acrobat isn't used to "make" documents in the way Word, or Pubisher, or whatever is. Instead, you continue to use Word or Publisher or whatever, and CONVERT the file to PDF. For every change, no matter how small, you change the original and make it again.

  • Does Acrobat Pro read the content in pdf file and transforms it?

    Does Acrobat Pro read the content in pdf file and transforms it to xls file without the need for much changes or manual work?

    Acrobat X (Standard and Pro) will save tabular data to XLS or XLSX format, provided it can recognize the table as being a table. If the PDF has missing or incorrect structure tags, Acrobat will try to guess the table layout by the position of text and lines on the page - this works well for basic formatting but if the table has complex styling, spanned cells etc. it can lead to problems.
    Acrobat X will even attempt to export a table within a scanned document, by applying OCR during the export stage - though again this relies on the table being visually identified.
    See http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/pdf-to-word-excel-converter.html and this article on how to extract one table from a larger document.

    Can I use my software on two computers?
    If you own, or are the primary user of, a single-user or volume license Adobe product that is installed on a computer at work, you can also install and use the software on one secondary computer of the same platform at home or on a portable computer. However, you may not run the software simultaneously on both the primary and secondary computers.
    No more than one user can use a single-user license Adobe product.
    Note: AVL customers have to buy two different licenses to use both operating systems, even if they have two different computers. They can only use the same license on another computer (not simultaneously) with the same platform at home.

  • Does Acrobat Pro version 9 support Multi-frame/image  TIF

    does acrobat pro version 9 sdk/api support converting multi-fram/image tiff into pdf ?

    Ok I'm probably missing something here.  I found examples and documenation for AVConversionConvertToPDF
    However, it all seems to be in C.  My trouble seems to stem from my not being able to figure what object to declare for which that method is a member of.
    Is not AVConversionConvertToPDF not supported in VB?  Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
    Thanks for your help

  • Why does Acrobat Pro 9 have more bells and whistles than Acrobat Pro XI?

    I have a Power Mac with Acrobat Pro 9 and it has more menus with more functions than the Acrobat Pro XI on my iMac.
    I'm supposed to be migrating to the iMac and giving the Power Mac to some co-workers, but I need the functions in Acrobat 9 that I don't see in XI.
    In 9 I have these menu items: File, Edit, View, Document, Comments, Forms, Tools, Advanced, Window and Help.
    In XI I have: File, Edit, View, FusionPro, Window and Help.
    I know FusionPro is a 3rd party plug-in.
    Do I have to do something to make them appear? Has Adobe taken them out? Did they move them?
    Primarily I'm interested in:
    Document > Crop Pages function
    Tools > Advanced Editing functions
    Advanced > Print Production functions
    BTW, I don't know if this is an installation issue or not, but this seemed like the most likely forum.

    In XI, all of the tools are in the RHP (right-hand panel) under tools/comments. Some tools require you to right click on the tools settings by the tools selector to allow other tools to be displayed. These tools are no longer given on the menu bar and has been the change in the Acrobat UI structure. A few tools are at times removed, but the ones you mentioned are still there.

  • Need Acrobat Pro 9 Volume License installer

    I just finished a very frustrating chat session with the Adobe support people who notified me that they could not help me in any way when it came to aquiring the Acrobat Pro 9 installer from the Volume Licensing Center. I have a valid serial and need the installer. How does one go about getting this to happen?
    Thanks.

    Thanks again Jeff. Here's the thing:
    When I contact an agent they tell me they can't help me because they don't have access to the software and tell me to try the forums. Now, the forum is telling me to try an agent. You can see how this isn't going to solve the issue.
    Is this solution possible? I'm happy to have my key verified.

  • Does Acrobat Pro 9.5.5 work with Yosemite 10.10.2

    I am running an iMac (20-inch, Mid 2007) with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, and 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, with an ATI Radeon graphics card. After upgrading to Yosemite 10.10.2, Adobe Acrobat Pro hangs when it is asked to do anything other than display a PDF.  Is my Acrobat incompatible with Yosemite?  Things were working so well...

  • Does Acrobat Pro 9 support "page-break-before" CSS tag? ie Pagination issues

    Hey there
    Converting a whole stack of html files to PDF and having some pagination issues.  Titles not staying with images and tables getting chopped in half by page breaks etc.
    Thought i could solve it by using carefully placed "page-break-before:always" tags where i wanted the page break.  Works as expected in Safari when i go to print but not when i "File:Create PDF: From File" in Acrobat Pro.  They get ignored.
    Here's how they should work:
    http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/page.html#x3
    This is a major hassle. I've got over 600 webpages to convert to PDF's and manually entering <br> to force items onto the next page is getting old.
    Here's some sample html, paste it into a file, save, open it in Safari and then go to print.  It should print 7 pages.  Open it in Acrobat Pro 9.1.0 and you get one page.
    <body>
    test0
    <p style="page-break-before: always">
    test
    <p style="page-break-before: always">
    test1
    <p style="page-break-before: always">
    test2
    <p style="page-break-before: always">
    test3
    <p style="page-break-before: always">
    test4
    <p style="page-break-before: always">
    </body>
    The really nice thing is this would be so useful.  You can attach the tag (page-break-before:avoid)  to a Caption style and always be assured that it will stay with a following graphic when you print the webpage. Or use it to make sure a table doesn't get cut in half.

    Nope.  Did the </br> thing.
    Cost me some serious cash.  Very annoying.
    I haven't tried it with Safari 5. Acrobat allowed me set page margins, something that Safari 4 didn't allow (didn't support margin css tags).  But acrobat didn't support the pagination and Safari 4 did.
    Like i said annoying
    I'll see if Safari 5 supports the print margins css tags.
    I'll prob get asked to do this again so would like to sort it out

  • Does Acrobat X allow custom shortcuts?

    This alone would propel me to upgrading from 9 pro if Acrobat X allows it.
    Any other "must-have" features from a user perspective? I'd rather hear form users than read the Adobe marketing.
    I create tons of PDFx files for commercial press from Indesign as well as web-ready PDFs for user downloads and am interested in anything which improves that process.
    Thanks

    We recently upgraded from 9 to X, and I am very disappointed in the changes.  Adobe took away the keyboard shortcuts, for example to insert another pdf into an open pdf, all i needed to do witht the keyboard was hit the Alt+D+N to get a File Insert Window, or to Save As hit Alt+F+A, or even just to Save hit Alt+S.  All these keyboard shortcuts are gone, plus there are many other changes I don't like.  These changes reduce efficiency.  I wish I could go back to 9.0.

  • Why does Acrobat Pro XI continually crash in Windows 8.x?

    When using Acrobat Pro XI on a Dell Optiplex 990 runing Windows 8 and, after upgrade 8.1 it continually crashes. Just trying to save it will crash, but almost any operation will randomly have it fail.

    I am having crash problems on Acrobat XI Pro using MS Surface Pro2 with Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit.
    After you make a number of comments on a 13 page document; and if you scroll up or down to different pages all the comments (underlining, text boxes, call outs etc.) cannot be seen, the comments entered do not show till you make some more clicks or do something more. After sometime the comments will show up again- very awkward behavior by the program not experienced in Adobe Acrobat X Pro which I operated on a MS Surface Pro with Windows 8.0
    The Surface Pro2 that I have has 8GB RAM, and there aren't any other applications/programs operating using the RAM.
    Not sure if Adobe XI Pro is being tested on a Windows 8.1 with updates as necessary.
    The fact that comments get missing make it difficult to view the document in a meeting on a screen with others......Discouraging to use Adobe.......the only option is to convert to MS Word and maintain stability of program and work done on it.
    It does at times hang and then you have to salvage the document after you close and open the program again and at times if the file was not saved the data is lost.
