Does Acrobat X Standard have Post Script and Press Quality option, please?

Does Acrobat X Standard have Post Script and Press Quality option, please? Can anybody help please?

The current version is Acrobat XI (not for XP or Vista). Adobe no longer sell Acrobat 9 or 10. So you would be buying in the "aftermarket". Which is fine, except that there are many fraudsters in there, doing things from selling versions that were upgraded (making you in violation of the license) to selling outright fakes, which often don't work at all, or stop when Adobe later blocks fraudulent serial numbers, or in the worst case also sneak malware onto the computer. So take great care selecting a seller. Beware of "too good to be true" prices, but the fraudsters are now wise to this too and may sell at a high price to seem legitimate.

  • Why does Acrobat Pro 9 have more bells and whistles than Acrobat Pro XI?

I have a Power Mac with Acrobat Pro 9 and it has more menus with more functions than the Acrobat Pro XI on my iMac.
I'm supposed to be migrating to the iMac and giving the Power Mac to some co-workers, but I need the functions in Acrobat 9 that I don't see in XI.
In 9 I have these menu items: File, Edit, View, Document, Comments, Forms, Tools, Advanced, Window and Help.
In XI I have: File, Edit, View, FusionPro, Window and Help.
    I know FusionPro is a 3rd party plug-in.
Do I have to do something to make them appear? Has Adobe taken them out? Did they move them?
    Primarily I'm interested in:
    Document > Crop Pages function
    Tools > Advanced Editing functions
    Advanced > Print Production functions
BTW, I don't know if this is an installation issue or not, but this seemed like the most likely forum.

In XI, all of the tools are in the RHP (right-hand panel) under tools/comments. Some tools require you to right click on the tools settings by the tools selector to allow other tools to be displayed. These tools are no longer given on the menu bar and has been the change in the Acrobat UI structure. A few tools are at times removed, but the ones you mentioned are still there.

  • Adding interactive buttons in Acrobat X Standard disables the Commenting and markup tools

Why does adding interactive buttons to PDFs in Acrobat X Standard disable the Commenting and markup tools in the PDFs, but only when they are viewed in the Reader, not when opened in Acrobat?  When the buttons are removed, the Commenting and markup tools are re-enabled in Reader.
    Thank you.

Which version of Reader are you testing with?

I am trying to print redplum coupons and I can't, help.  I have updated java, adobe flash, and made sure my printer was set on default.  I am not sure what I am doing wrong.  I have contacted redplum and no one will help.

No Apple response???  Redplum/Valassis will not help either.  I searched, using the cups error message and though it is Unbuntu, same error so maybe useful...only problem: details would not display unless I join Unbuntu forum.  What a pain to do anything with my Mac or find any help.  I honestly regret buying this buggy OS.
Anyway, here is what I found, FYI:
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=483415
As the old saying goes: when in doubt, consult the manual. The problem appears to be that I added the printer using the KDE Add Printer Wizard. It was automatically given a "socket" URI instead of an "lpd" one. When I:
    - altered the printer settings at http://localhost:631 (the CUPS admin page) as instructed in the manual for the printer, and
    - copied the PPD file into a second place on the hard drive (as instructed on ubunutuforums, see the link above)
    ..everything started working.
It's still slower than windows, but I can live with that
Probably a simple fix. Change the socket I.P. to match the printer I.P. like this:
socket://192.168.1.86:9100. The thing I'm concerned with using socket:// is that AFAIK the printer I.P. must not change. In my case I'm able to assign a static I.P. address to the printer but it's something to consider.
I found that the only thing I needed to do was change socket to lpd (and remove :9100 off the end as well). See Solving Ubuntu printer “broken pipe” problem (DocuPrint C525A) . BTW thanks for steering me in the right direction - very grateful.
Solving Ubuntu printer “broken pipe” problem (DocuPrint C525A)
    Posted on November 25, 2008
Are you having a problem with your printer under the latest versions of Ubuntu (perhaps it worked under an older version)? Are you able to print short documents, but not longer, or more graphics-intensive, documents? (e.g. the unfortunate people at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=625493). Do they sit there as Processing for ages and then switch to Held? If you have the same problem I had the solution I tried may work for you too. Firstly, check your cups error log:
    sudo gedit /var/log/cups/error_log
If you see anything like the following, the solution may be simple:
[Job 201] Unable to write print data: Broken pipe
    PID 13359 (/usr/lib/cups/backend/socket) stopped with status 1!
System > Administration > Printing and right click on your printer, selecting Properties. Settings > Device URI
If you see something like socket://your_printer_ip_address:9100 just change socket to lpd and remove the :9100 off the end. Then click on apply.
Apparently lpd is a more modern protocol which works with most printers whereas socket is more raw (and potentially faster but riskier in a network situation). Somewhere along the line, the default Ubuntu/Gnome setup for networked printers shifted from lpd to socket. Some primitive printers will have benefited whereas a larger number of more modern printers will have suffered.
Please correct me if I am wrong (which is highly possible) but the underlying problem could be that socket may make the printer wait a long time for a large file to be processed ready for printing. Some printers, such as the Fuji Xerox DocuPrint C525A, may drop the socket if things take too long to start coming through.
Changing timeout settings might work but lpd is better than socket so it is the preferred solution in any case.
If this works for you, please leave a comment to let others know (ideally with a description of the printer and Ubuntu version). Printer may be relevant if it doesn’t support the direct stream protocol properly. NB I may take a while to let your comment through because of the volume of spam. Sorry about that.
Finally, thanks to sphilli8 for the steer in the right direction at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6245626.

Was it AA X Std that you had these options in (sorry, I only have Pro)? If it was the trial (that is Pro), it may be that Std does not have to feature. Under XI at the Adobe site, there is a comparison of features between Std and Pro that might give you a hint.
There is also an option to turn on or hide many tools. For me there is a small icon just above the tools...comment titles. If you select that it give a list of tools you can display. Often, several are not displayed by default. How you lost them is another things, but it is getting them that is the basic question.

i have new ipad2 and the iTunes have only podcasts and iTunes U options. I simply can't download music or vidoes. Please help!

Not all content types are available in all countries, and unfortunately where you are you will only have apps, podcasts, iTunes U and free books - the full list of what is available where is shown on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3599 . As the terms of use of the stores state that you can only use your own country's store, you also can't get music or films from Apple from other country's stores.
Are there other music and/or film purchase download sites that you can use in the UAE ? For music you can also copy your own CDs and sync them to the iPad

No, there isn't. The way you're using the file is not recommended. You
should use a review tracker to avoid getting in the way of one another.

Try restarting it. If this does not work, then hard restart it which is holding the power and home button until the product ***** off. If this does not help either, plug it into the computer and restore it. Make sure you back up the device before you restore it though! Helge,
I have Acrobat-Distiller 9 Pro on Mac Leopard.
    1) If I use Distiller directly, it will show "pstack flush" messages as well as error messages
    in its own window.
    2) If I use Distiller via Acrobat and there are no problems, I can't see "pstack flush" messages at all.
    3) If I use Distiller via Acrobat and there is a problem, I get error messages AND
"pstack flush" messages in a TextEdit window.
Its header tells me about a log file but I can't find the logfile.
Perhaps I am too new to Acrobat 9, and need some experimenting with its setup.

  • Acrobat X Standard Updating error messages and how to make them go away?

I'm constantly getting messages about having a new update available for Acrobat X Standard. The following message always shows up after the update process: Error 1328.Error applying patch to file C:\Config.Msi'fl7088.tmp. Ithas probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information contact your patch vendor.

What version do you have today?

  • Does Acrobat 8 standard correctly run with Windows 7?

I have been using Acrobat Professional and standard since version 6, and I was forced to upgrade to version 8 even though I don't use any of the additional features of 8 because version 6 didn't run with Vista.  I do hope I will not be forced to upgrade again with Windows 7.  My new computer had a Windows 7 upgrade offer, but I'm reluctant to do it if I will have to re-purchase the software I am using.
The reason I ask is because I checked the Windows 7  compatibility site and they only mention version 9.

I too have been using Acrobat Pro for a long time (currently version 7, though).
After upgrading to Windows 7 (64-bit), some strange behaviors in Acrobat 7 Pro:
    1) No PDF Printer device.  Worked fine in XP
    2) Can't open PDF files when clicking links to them in IE8 (must save to hard disk first, then open); worked fine in XP
    3) Periodic pop-ups saying hardware has changed... please reactivate.
So, basically I am resigned to the fact that Acrobat 7 simply isn't going to work reliably in Win 7-64 bit.
But I also see very little informaton (except what I see in these forums) about Adobe's current or planned support for Acrobat 9 on Windows 7 - 64 bit. Windows 7 is not even mentioned in the system requirements page tof Acrobat 9.  Seems rediculous since Win7 Release candidate has been out a long time. You'd think Adobe would be ready with Win 7 support concurrent with the release of the OS.
So what's the deal?  Should I go ahead and buy the upgrade to Acrobat 9 Pro and hope for the best or wait for Adobe to officially state Windows 7 64 BIt is supported??
    Thanks.
    JS.
