Does Action Script 2.0 have any classes to support networking?

Im intending to implement a flashlite 2.0 application that
deals with live cam. Users are able to stream live videos via 3G
using their mobile phones.
Im just wondering. Is flashlite 2.0 able to achieve that>?
Or should i just stick to .NET or J2ME.
Thanks Alot.

Ciao
what yuo are trying to do cannot be done in FL. There is no
access to the Camera of the phone whitin FL ans you want to use it.

  • Does java have any class that wrap byte[]

    my program would send byte[] to remote host;I know byte cant be serializabled;
so I would a class wrap byte[],I cant write new class, because remote host maybe havent this class,
    I want to kown if java have a class that wrap byte[];

The iPlanet Application Server 6.5 has a very nasty bug when you're using RMI/IIOP: if you want to reference an EJB in a stand-alone application. you can't use reliably methods that take parameters whose type is an array of primitives (like byte[]). The EJB can be called correctly in a Web application or by another EJB, but you can't use them in stand-alone apps.
It is a product that is simultaneously a C++ application server and a Java application server, and has lots and lots of native code. It uses a specially modified JRE 1.3 for its own use.
Sun dumped it (too buggy, too complex, too slow and very oddball) and used the J2EE SDK RI code instead to write the new versions of Sun ONE Application Server and Sun Java System Application Server.

  • Does Java have any class for linear algebra/matrix computation

    Hi!
I am new to Java. Would like to ask whether Java provides any class or package for linear algebra/matrix computation, before I switch to MATLAB or write the code by myself.
    Thank you

Maybe you can find something here,

  • Does using too many UserControls have any disadvantages?

Here I'm in a dilemma. I am developing a wpf window application with a lot of tabs. Each tab's content has some grids with a lot of controls. I am planning to replace the tab's content with UserControls. So I would have a lot of userControls, ie one userControl
per one tab. Plus, in my mainWindow, i could easily pass data from one tab to any class (for processing) by passing in the userControl/s that contains user inputs. In this way I am able to modularize the application and making it easier to handle.
I am wondering if there could be any downside to that that I am not aware of?

Since only the contents of the currently selected TabItem of a TabControl is actually added to the visual tree (and then removed when you select another tab), the UI performance won't suffer when you have a lot of tabs.
And "grouping" the controls under each tab into a UserControl seems like a good idea. Then you will also be able to reuse the contents of a TabPage somewhere else in your application if you want to - maybe not now but in the future. Anyway, I cannot
see any direct downside with putting the controls into a UserControl. After all, this is what a UserControl is for.

  • Why does my ipad mini not have any sound?

My ipad mini does not have sound in any of my apps (mostly games). Sound is on in settings, and sound is turned on in each app. It is a first generation mini, not a retina display. Thanks for any suggestions.

First try a Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the Steps in this article to force the device into Recovery Mode.

  • Does Front Row DVD player have any options and preferences?

Are there any preference options for watching DVD's in Front Row?
I have been watching DVD's on my Mac through the DVD Player which has lots of useful options like Zoom and De-Interlace etc. But DVD player leaves the mouse pointer on screen and Front Row seems to be a better way to watch films.
My problem with Front Row is when I play a DVD like West Wing it needs to be zoomed to fill my 17inch screen and it needs to be played De-Interlaced. I can't find any way to access options in Front Row DVD player to do this. With no mouse pointer I can't get a drop down menu so is there a short cut key that would give me some options?
    Thanks
    Phil Carr

    Welcome to the forums!
But DVD player leaves the mouse pointer on screen
Not if you drag it to the bottom of the screen.
Front Row seems to be a better way to watch films.
Debatable for the reasons you mention!
I much prefer VLC to DVD Player:
You should definitely consider having the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not.

  • How to make the auto generated java script not to have any html comments.

Hello BEA Experts, As you know that auto generated javascript functions like getNetuiTagNames in Workshop are included with in the the HTML comment tags like <b><!--
--!></b> its another thing they should be generated correctly as follows <b><!--
//--!></b>, to hide it from browsers not supporting javascript.
My question is there any way to stop generation of the HTML comment tags and just genrate the javascript with in teh script elements..
    Please let me know..
    Thanks in advance..

Not sure if this is an application question or if you are trying to hook into Crystal Reports parameter UI? If the later then no option other than report design. If an application then I can move this to the Java Forums.
If you are asking how to alter the parameters I suggest you remove the Java reference and post a new question so it's not confusing the issue.
    Please clarify?

  • Does the Wifi only iPad have any problems when connected to wifi

Does the third gen iPad still have wifi issues like the previous models

What issues are you referring to that you experienced with an iPad?
The 3rd generation iPad runs iOS 5 which is compatible with the original iPad and iPad 2.
I've had no wi-fi issues with my iPad 2, original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, and now with an iPhone 4S.

  • Does Firefox 25.0.01 have any issues running Lumosity games?

    I am running Firefox 25.0.01.
At times my direction arrow keys do not work in Lumosity, when depressing the key, Lumosity does not respond, this is only happening on my DeskTop, my Laptop also runs Firefox 25.0.01, yet it experiences no problems. Any complaints along this line?
This problem has started in just the past two weeks (Nov. '13.) Lumosity suggests that I run Google Chrome as a potential fix. I don't like Google.

Not sure this is helpful to you at this point, but here is Lumosity's support article for anyone finding this thread: [https://help.lumosity.com/entries/24485295-Arrow-keys-are-unresponsive-in-Firefox Arrow keys are unresponsive in Firefox : Help Center].

  • Does Force Quitting The App have Any Harmful Effects?

    I have an iPod 3G.
To force quit an app, I heard that for newer models like mine, you have to hold down the hold button, and when the iPod asks you if you want to shut down, you press the home button for five seconds until the iPod returns to the springboard.
I heard that force quitting an app is good because it stops it from running in the background.
Is using this method harmful to your iPod in anyway at all?

iPod touch and iPhone run apps in what is known as a "sandbox". That is, each app is a separate process and starting, stopping, or force quitting has no effect on the OS or other apps.
As far as background apps go, the only one I can think of is Music. Everything else is the only app running at the time. The only time you should have to force-quit is if the app hangs up.
BTW, I think you are getting how the iPhone software operates confused with Android - which does keep a number of apps running in the background.

  • Since ios5 upgrade my calendar does not see that I have any calendars.  How do I fix this?

I just installed ios5 on my IPOD touch and the calendar app shows no calendars.  But it is active for my email account and I have a caldav calendar defined in the settings.  Any idea how to get the calendar app to recognize this?
    Jeff

In case your Caldav setting uses the 'Advanced Settings' and needs a particular URL,
then you could be out of luck as many of us because with the introduction of iOS 5 (and still not fixed in iOS 5.0.1) one can not change the URL for the Caldav calendar location.
This worked and was possible with iOS 4.
See more on that issue at:
The URL field in the caldav configuration can be modified, but when I save and return, it defaults to a wrong URL generated by the ios5 itself, and not to the URL I put in.

  • TS3274 I have a new iPad mini w/retina display.  Recently, the screen flickered with red lines across the entire screen.  Anyway, the screen eventually went black. Now it does't work.  Anyone have any suggestions?

My screen just went haywire.  The screen flickered with red strips vertically.  I thought it was part of the game I was operating until the screen went black and a white strip illiminated at the top.  I tried turning teh system off, but it would not allow me to turn it off.  After about 5 minutes, I was able to turn it off.  Anyone have this occur?  The Ipad mini appears to be ok now.

    I Also have this problem!!
In my situation, the screen simply started exhibiting the same symptoms a few weeks ago (early February) for no apparent reason.  At first I thought the screen was dead, but discovered the heat solution by accident.  Now I turn it on and keep it from going to sleep until I go to bed.  Thank goodness the battery is still awesome on this thing.
I bought it new and still has the original screen, I keep it at home (never below 62 degrees).  Coincidentally, this happened a day or two after the expiration of the warranty!!  Any help figuring this one out would be eternally appreciated.

  • Does the new Thunderbolt display have any advantages over the current 27" iMac

Other than being 3kg lighter and including a sub (2.1 stereo system) rather than just stereo speakers, are there any advantages of the new Thunderbolt display over the current 27" iMac?
We need a new desktop very soon, and will eventually upgrade to an Mac Pro (not until a post Lion version comes out with Thunderbolt built in).  We were contemplating a MacMini Server and a Thunderbolt display, but for only a little extra (weight and cash) we could get a more powerfull 27" iMac.  Are there any benefits of the Thunderbolt display that are not included in the top end 27" iMac?  I'm assuming it's just the same 27" LED backlit TFT LCD with IPS...
In the end we would probably end up using the iMac or display as a display for a Mac Pro (we're photographers), so if there are significant benefits of the Thunderbolt Display, we'll just get it with the Mini as a stopgap.

The only real advantage of the new 27" ACD is that you can easily move it from one unit to another (Mini to MBP to Pro, etc).  If you bought a 27" iMac you could always hook up another display to the iMac and run dual monitors fairly easily.
The advantage of the Pro is that you can add a bigger video card, lots more RAM and up to 4 hard drives.  If you plan on buying a Pro as soon as it comes out, get the Mini, if not get the iMac (it will save you a bit of space over a ACD and a Mini).  I think the real question is, what do you think you are going to use more in the future.
And yes, the 27" iMac and the 27" ACD use the same IPS screen.

  • Why does action script not support constructor over loading?

This would make life so much simpler? is there an official reason or is it "were too lazy"

Don't know how anyone could answer the why here, unless they're an Adobe engineer. You can simulate overloading with an arguments array.
public function doSomething (myObject:Object = null, ...rest)
So you could do something like
public function savePersonalListItems (personName:String, ...rest) and then act upon the array of parameters that would be passed into the rest array. http://www.sephiroth.it/weblog/archives/2006/06/actionscript_3_rest_parameter.php
If you want to overload with known entities, it's probably just as good to go with default values so they parameters become optional
public function saveTopThreeItems( object1:Object = new Object(), object2:Object = new Object(), object3:Objects = new Object())
then you can pass in none or all three. Just some ideas that you may already implement.
