Does activating 'Require password' cause your Air to act oddly?

If I activate 'require passowrd after 1 hour' in System preferences > Security on my 2011 MacBook Air running Lion, it causes the app to swap when I wake my computer.
For example, if I close my computer when Mail is active, when I open it again Mail will be there for a couple of seconds and then it'll suddenly change to another open application.
Does anyone else's Mac do this?

That's because you have the incorrect IOS. The "rcv" image is for LWAP/Controller-based. Download the autonomous IOS version and you should be fine.

My new MacBook Pro (Late 2013 Retina) does not requiring password every time (ver. 10.9.2). It is set to require a password and it does most of the time but it often does not. I have seen some posts of other people having this issue but have not seen any fix?

You are still under warranty. Call Apple Care. Make sure you get a case number as all repairs have an additional 90 days of warranty.

Does activation fails in ods when it is acting as source & loading data

Hi All,
If i am loading data from ODS to cube which is nothing but repair full (data from active table), i bring delta to ODS & start ods activaion of the delta request will it fail due to the lock on the active table?

The data load happens this way in the DSO.
DSO consists of three tables namely "new,Active and changelog tables".
When you load the data to DSO, records sit in New table.
When you Activate the data records move to Active table creating a before,After image in change log.
when you are running the load from DSO to CUBE, the records are loaded from the Active or Change log based on the setting.
So these tables will be locked when you are using them to load the cube.
when you are activating the data in DSO, it means that we are moving data from new to active table.
So when loading from DSO the tables are locked and when activating, you are tring to move data in these tables which is not possible.
So,we cannot activate DSO same time when some records are loding from same dso to cube

Require Password Every Login

We are running OSX Server 10.3.4 in a facility (for various reasons) which does not require passwords on each workstation. I would like to require each user to enter their Username and Password every time they login to the server rather than allow then to store it in a local keychain so that multiple users at each workstation cannot access each others server data. I seem to recall this was a simple step in ASIP (there was a preference to "allow password to be stored in keychain") but I'll be darned if I can find an equivalent is OSX server.
This is a standalone server running Open Directory locally and is not connected to a network password server. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

This is not governed server-side, unless you setup managed users with network home directories.
If workstations have local user accounts & home folders, you'll need to change the password for the "login" keychain - but they could just opt to create another keychain.

I tested on my computer that is running Windows 8, but I havenot encountered the same issue. Could you please test the following thing.
1. Disable Require Password after wake up in Power Options.
2. Manually make the computer into Sleep Mode by the Power options in Charm bar rahter than close the lid.
3. Wake up the computer and check whether the issue persists.

When macbook air restarts, it does not require the password for the admin

I set up parental controls on son's Mac boolk air, but anytime it is restarted, it defaults to the admin account without haveing to enter pasword. So basically, pointless to have controls if he can just use admin account.

A. He can't use the admin account unless you gave him the password.
B. He cannot access the admin account on startup unless you are using automatic login on the admin account.
Turn off Automatic Login in Users & Groups under Login Items. Start using a new password on your admin account and keep it secret.

I'm having the same issues. Started when I upgraded iphone 4S and ipad1 to 5.1.1. Wife's iphone 4g on 4.4.2 has been ok. I've forgot the network on both devices and restored the iphone, none of which changed the issue. I've upgraded to ios 6 on the iphone 4s, problem still persists.
One thing that will help for a time: go to your router and change the wireless control channel. When I first did this I got full connectivity for about 48 hours... and now the problem is back. I'm now changing the wireless control channel every 12 hours, which is a pain but at least keeps me connected. I've tried a few other solutions that are out there and that has been the best one so far.
to do this on a motorola router: type 192.168.0.1 in your address bar.
username: admin and password:motorola if you have not changed the factory defaults.
Click on the word "wireless" and look for the "control channel" field. This may be set to auto or to 1, try changing it to 6 or 11 (preferred) or any other channel.
The control channel can cause static in the wireless system IF there are several networks nearby that are on the default setup.
There is a fair bit of buzz about this issue out there, some other things I've seen:
This is a hardware issue. Go to the store and have your wifi antenna checked, some users reporting that they get free replacement devices.
Check against other wifi networks that require a password (this is next for me). Logon to those networks and surf until your wifi stops. If your wifi connects to the internet but stops responding, then this is a software (or hardware) issue and apple needs to step up. Some are claiming this to be the case.
IF you connect and stay connected/on the internet on another password protected wifi, then the issue is with your router. this is where things get cute.
Comcast may tell you to update your firmware. Motorola may tell you that your cable provider is the only one who can push through firmware updates. Comcast may tell you that you are not in an area that is being updated. It's unclear if they say that to all customers, or just those who have purchased cable modems and aren't renting them from comcast.

If your Apple ID was changed from your old account, you may have to change it back to your old account to be able to sign out and then change it back after that is done. Take a look at the article below for more information.

If you have a corporate Exchange account set up on the phone, the administrators can require encrypted backups. Try using your Exchange password.

I was looking around on the privacy settings on my MacBook Air, and I came across an option to set a "master password". This sounded safe, so I set a difficult one that was memorable for me. I'm just curious: What does the master password do? Why would I need one? and When can I activate it?

OS X 10.6 and earlier versions
Master Password can be used to reset login/administrator password without using Installation DVD.
If the password is forgotten, try to login to your account and enter the any wrong password 3 times.
"Forgot Password?" box will appear. Click it.
Enter Master Password and the new login password to reset it.
OS X 10.7 and later versions
You can use Apple ID to reset password in the newer version of OS X.

My service provider's SMTP does not require a password but the option "non" does not appear on the IPOD Touch 5th gen. Fix?

I have relay.skynet.be as my outgoing server and it does not require/allow password protection. When configuring mail on the Ipod the option of "non" is not given for the outgoing server. Is this a skynet issue or is there an Ipod solution?

You may have saved a bad password so Firefox is entering that rather than giving you the option to try again. Go to Tools > Options > Security > Saved Passwords and delete the saved passwords for that site and then try logging in again.

You're phone is locked to a carrier. You will need to contact the carrier you got you're phone from to have them unlock it.
