Does Adjust Date & Time Modify EXIF data?

If I use the adjust date and time does it modify the exif data in the original photo, so if I export the photos elsewhere it will preserve these edits? I was using Picasa and fixed the date and time on a few photos only to find them back to 1/1/2002 when I imported my photos to iPhoto

I just saw this checkbox today and hoped it meant that. I've really wanted this feature for a long time now.

  • Modify EXIF date?

    iPhoto '11 (9.2.2) lets me set a date for photos, but apparently this new date is known only to iPhoto. Even if I check the "Modify original files" box when I set the date, the original date of the photo in its EXIF data is unchanged. This can be a problem, as when exporting photos or uploading photos to Flickr, which either can't see or ignores the  date set by iPhoto and uses the date in the EXIF data instead. Is there a way to change the date in the EXIF data?
    I saw one post (from 2007) that said checking the "Modify original files" option WOULD change the EXIF date and another post that described changing individual photo dates through the Info mode. Neither works for me. Is that a bug? I have to use Batch Change to modify the date for even a single photo, and even if I do that with "Modify original files" checked, the EXIF data is not changed.

    Sorry if I'm not being clear. Here's a summary:
    1. A photo is taken in August of 1966 and developed as a slide.
    2. Last summer the slide is digitized: EXIF date is 6/7/11.
    3. A month or so later I add the photo  to iPhoto, which still reports the date as 6/7/11.
    4. On 3/7/12, I edit the photo in iPhoto and use the Batch Change feature to set the date to when the photo was actually taken: 8/1/66. As expected, iPhoto Info now shows the date as 8/1/66.
    5. On 3/12/12 I use the Flickr uploader in iPhoto to upload the photo to my Flickr set. Flickr reports the date of the photo as 6/7/11.
    6. Today, 3/21/12, I look at the file information for the photo in two places: Finder and Tools Inspector in Preview. Both of these places report the same Created and Modified date: 3/7/12 (the date I edited the photo in iPhoto).
    So, what is unexplained is:
    1. When I change the date in iPhoto, why does the file creation date and modification date change to the present day instead of the date I set?
    2. When I upload the photo to Flickr, why does the creation date revert to the date when the image was first digitized from the slide?
    And, of course, my only goal is that the date I set in iPhoto show up in Flickr when I upload it there.

  • Select Records between Begin Date/Time and End Date/Time

    Hi, I need to select records from table GLPCA where the CPUDT and CPUTM are between a START DATE/TIME and END DATE/TIME.
    I have the below logic from an SAP Solution, but it doesn't seem to be working right in my opinion.  It is picking up records earlier than the date ranges.  Can anyone tell me how I might be able to accomplish this?  I'm hoping this is an easy one for the ABAPPERs...
    Thanks,
    START DATE 20091022
    START TIME 125736
    END DATE 20091022
    END TIME 135044
    CPUDT 20091022
    CPUTM 100257
          SELECT * FROM GLPCA
             WHERE ( CPUDT >= STARTDATE AND ( CPUTM >= STARTTIME OR ( CPUDT <= ENDDATE AND CPUTM <= ENDTIME ) ) ).

    Thank you all!  I ended up using the following:
    SELECT * FROM GLPCA
              WHERE RYEAR IN L_R_RYEAR
                AND ( ( CPUDT = STARTDATE AND CPUTM >= STARTTIME ) OR CPUDT > STARTDATE )
                AND ( ( CPUDT = ENDDATE   AND CPUTM <= ENDTIME )   OR CPUDT < ENDDATE ).

  • UTC Date Time and Normal Date Time

    Hi All,
    1. How UTC date time and Normal date time differs in siebel.
    2. If legacy data needed to be loaded into siebel, in siebel few fields are date time and UTC date time fields. what would happen if we load both normal date time and UTC date time without considering them techinically?
    3. UTC date time holds any specific format in physical database? If we want to load legacy data to UTC date time format what is the query to manipulate it?
    Thankyou

  • PSE 10 editor changing date taken in EXIF data

    Hello. I have just joined the forum after recently buying PSE 10 Editor for Mac. I had no trouble at first but now after I have saved an edit I  find that the date taken has been changed to the same as the date modified & imported.
    I can change it back manually through iPhotos menu but this is a bit of a nuisance when a lot of photos are involved, I don't know why it has happened but how do I reset it to give the correct date ?

    I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it didn't help.  I lost another photo today and had to retrieve it
    for the Organizer from my Windows files.  Instead of placing it next to the original photo (or in the same area), it placed it in a file called Adobe/Photoshop.com.  I made sure again that the line you referred to isn't checked.  In addition, when the photo doesn't get lost, the Exif date for the photo does get lost and the photo is dated today.  These two problems seem to be connected, although I can never predict which one will occur.  Anybody have more ideas?  Could it be a Windows 7 issue rather than a Photoshop issue?

  • Converting a date time to a date only

    CA Forum: Formula
    I am working on a report that has a running total field.  The running total field keeps a running total and resets every time that a date changes.  the problem is that my dates include times, therefore the running total resets on every line.  How can I convert my date (in date time format) to be only a date so that it does not reset on every line?
    Obviously, I am not a programmer so I apologize if this is a stupid question.

    if you are doing it inside crystal you can use the date functiondate({your.datetimefield})if you are doing it at the db level in a command this will vary depending on your db

  • Sorting photos by date/time taken, when date/time created is not an option?

    I'm so sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I can't find it on Google or in the forums...
    I need to sort wedding photos from multiple photographers by date taken so I can sort through the wedding as a full event. Sorting by the date/time the file was created will not suffice because I had to convert all photos from one of my photogs from NEF to DNG (D610 files not compatible with CS5), so the 'date created' for those DNG file is days later than all the other images. Thus, sorting by "date created' batches all the photos from one of my photogs together at the end.
    Is there any option in Bridge that will actually read the metadata and sort by the shoot time of the image?
    Thanks for any help!

      There has been a known bug in PSE9 although only affecting raw images and caused by the Camera Raw 6.4 update. The timestamp gets changed by one hour each time an image is modified. I don’t know if your issue is related but the work around is to revert to ACR 6.3
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/915/cpsid_91582.html
    The only other work around is to temporarily switch to folder location view, if your images were imported from a single folder. Click on the display button (near top right in Organizer) to change the browser view. If you click on the folder in the left hand pane the files will normally be in sequential file name order which usually mirrors the date/time taken. From the folder location it’s possible to create an instant album, which can then be used as the basis of a slideshow.

  • Batch change file date to match exif date

    Hi All-
    I recently got a mac pro. Upon importing my photos to iPhoto, the file date for each is set to the date of the import. When using the mac photo screensaver, the date that shows up for everything is the import date, rather than the date the photo was taken.
    Is there any way to batch change the pictures so that the file date matches the date the picture was taken?
    (Or, a way to have the screensaver use that date
    Thanks,
    -jamie

    Interesting, but here is what I found out. I was annoyed because when I sucked in about 1000 JPGs from my camera's memory stick, and then I copied them to my Windows boxen, the file dates were wrong. I was surprised that there isn't an easy way to do this... until your post!! Thanks. *APPLE, Please fix the way "Originals" are stored during iPhoto import*, since something is wrong here. The file dates stored on my memory stick should have been used not the moment I clicked import in iPhoto.
    So I moved my jhead to /usr/bin and gave it root ownership and 755 permissions.
    All of the pictures seem to be three deep here:
    cd ~/Pictures/iPhoto\ Library/Originals
    ls -lsGrt /*/.jpg
    But that is only a small fraction of mine. Most end in .JPG
    ls -lsGrt /*/.JPG
    So here is the commands to do the correction of the file date and time. You don't need the find command or that script, although you might need to snoop around and make sure all of your files are here and not any deeper or in some other location. but this should be harmless to run as long as you want to alter every file date.
    jhead -ft /*/.jpg
    jhead -ft /*/.JPG
    And that pretty much does it. I don't see any images elsewhere that were brought in by iPhoto 6 on my machine. I looked for MPG files but I don't have any. This is from a video recording camera, so I don't have any MPGs.
    So jrsmobile, my mileage varied a lot, since your method missed about 95% of my photos!!

    How to set this from java ?.Usually you use a prepared statement and one of the set methods.
    Or you can use setString() and format the date yourself using SimpleDateFormat.

  • Converting Date-Time to Long Date in a string that is stored in a formula

    The following are 2 verions of formulas that I've tried in placing the long date on a report.  I want the JUD_T_MEETING_NOTICE.MEETING_DATE to be displayed on the letter if Outcome_ID = 3.00 as April 29, 2009.  The field's fomat in the table is 04/29/2009 and neither of the formula's below worked.  I tried formatting the date as a separte formula, as shown in Formula #2 below, but the formatting defaults to the original DataType.  Anyone have any ideas on how to format the date within the string in the formula?
    FORMULA #1:
    IF {JUD_T_MEETING_NOTICE.FK_OUTCOME_ID} = 3.00
    THEN 'I received the enclosed report(s) for review.  To resolve this matter, you must contact the office at ' & {@HallPhone} & ' to schedule a meeting to discuss the incident with me.  This meeting must occur by ' & DATETIMETODATE({JUD_T_MEETING_NOTICE.MEETING_DATE}) & '.  If you have a conflict with this deadline, please let me know as soon as possible to make alternative meeting arrangements.'
    ELSE IF {JUD_T_MEETING_NOTICE.FK_OUTCOME_ID} = 9.00
    THEN 'You missed your scheduled meeting.'
    FORMULA #2:
    IF {JUD_T_MEETING_NOTICE.FK_OUTCOME_ID} = 3.00
    THEN 'I received the enclosed report(s) for review.  To resolve this matter, you must contact the office at ' & {@HallPhone} & ' to schedule a meeting to discuss the incident with me.  This meeting must occur by ' & ({@FormatMeetingDate}) & '.

    Assuming JUD_T_MEETING_NOTICE.MEETING_DATE is a date field, modify your formula to:
    totext(({JUD_T_MEETING_NOTICE.MEETING_DATE}),"MMMM dd, yyyy")
    If it is not a date field but a string, then
    totext(cdate(JUD_T_MEETING_NOTICE.MEETING_DATE ),"MMMM dd, yyyy")

  • Autofill date/time when entering data?

    Hi,
    I'm new to Numbers so still learning the ropes, but...
    I have made a call log which should automatically enter the date and time when I enter data into a 'Notes' field. This works for the first instance but when a new call is received and I add a new note the date and time changes for all previous notes.
    The formula I am using is as follows:
    IF(ISBLANK(F3),,NOW())
    I have tried to attach the numbers file bu struggling to see how so I've attached a screenshot which might be of use.
    Any help greatly appreciated!

    the function now() atucally returns now.  That is... the date and time it is at the very moment the function is called.  You are asking for a timestampt.  The best way to implement a timestamp (which technically Numbers DOES NOT HAVE) is to keep a single cell table in a handy place (I keep it in the top left corner), then put the formula:
    =now()
    in the single cell.
    When you add a new entry, select that single cell, copy, then paste formula result.
    this can be done quickly when you memorize the key combinations:
    copy                            = <command> + c
    paste fomula result     = <command> + <shift> + v
    You can make suggestions to Apple using the menu item "Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback"
