Does Adobe Acrobat Pro X1 support Publisher 2007 i.e. to convert publisher doc to a pdf ... if so how?

Thank you for the information ... is there another way around it i.e. I want to be able to make a pdf in Adobe Pro XI from Publisher 2007?  If so, can you please advise how? Thanks.

  • Does Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional support image which has been converted to a PDF to be edited?

    Hi,
Does Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional support the content of an image which has been converted to a PDF file to be edited?
Sometimes when I try to edit the content of a PDF file which was created by converting an image into a PDF file, I notice that Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional tells me that this Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot support this content.
On the other hand, even if Adobe Acrobat professional could edit a PDF file, I notice that there are far too many restrictions to edit the content, for example, if your new editing words are more than the old then the line goes out the page instead of going to a new line. In addition, if you reached to the end of a line, and then you press 'Enter' to let the rest of words of the last line be written  on the next line, you notice that the words  writes on the words of  line which follows the line which is being edited. As a result, the text would be quite crazy.
Any comments would be highly appreciated
    Thanks a lot,

  • Does Adobe Acrobat Pro or Reader mount all listed network folders in Mac OS X 10.6?

I administer several Macintoshes on a managed network. Recently, we migrated most machines to Mac OS X 10.6. Now, when users navigate to a network folder to open a document from Acrobat Pro 9, Acrobat Pro X or Acrobat Reader X, any folder shown in the "Open" window from Acrobat is mounted on the user's desktop. The protocol doesn't matter - the server could be accessed via smb or afp. If the file is held in a network folder near the bottom of the alphabet, all folders that are exposed in the "Open" window mount. Not only does this create clutter and confusion for the user, but sometimes it crashes Acrobat.
This behavior is present only in Acrobat Reader, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and X. No other application, Adobe or not has this affect navigating through the open file function.
This behavior is present after complete uninstall/reinstalls of the applications.
This behavior is present in any account – local or network.
This behavior is present on any Macintosh running Max OS X 10.6.
This behavior is NOT present in OS X 10.5.
Can anyone else in this forum duplicate or explain this behavior?

    Hi Onewizard,
I tried and checked this on different version of Acrobat and Reader however not able to replicate this behavior. I am on MAC 10.6.8

  • Hi, I have adobe acrobat pro 9 (yes older version) with error to convert from word

on win7 64bit. but when I try to convert a word file to pdf. I get error PDF MAKER. When I print a test page from word to pdf printer it does correct. Word is 2007
When I go to my acrobat. And I press combine from word I get the error.
When I combine from other pdf it all works.
So it is the conversion from word to acrobat creating the error.
The exact error messag I get is next:

I don't believe that Acrobat 9 is compatible with the 64bit version of Windows 7, which might cause integration errors, like the one you're describing.
The solution is to upgrade to the latest version.

  • Does Adobe have a way for my Windows C++ program to convert an HTML string to PDF?

Will the Acrobat SDK or another Adobe library or plugin enable my Windows C++ program (not .NET) to convert HTML to PDF? Thanks.

Our Microsoft C++ (not .NET) application is a server program that runs
tasks initiated by multiple end users via web, and places the resulting
files in a central location on the server computer. The files it produces
are currently HTML5/CSS that reference GIFs (also stored on the server)
but we would like to also convert these to PDFs and both store them on the
server computer and email them to users. We are currently converting these
HTML/CSS/GIF files to Microsoft MHT's but these are not very portable and
can be viewed only in IE.
So I guess we're talking about a site license or a server license for each
server program that we sell to one of our customers.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 7 and Windows 8.

Does Adobe Acrobat Pro 7 work on Windows 8? Why do I receive the following message:
Impossibile avviare correttamente l'applicazione (0xc00000fd). Fare clic su OK per chiudere l'applicazione.
I bought the software and I need it for professional reasons.
    Why is this?
    thank you
    Simona Gatti

    Hi Medina ,
Acrobat 8 is an older version .It might not be compatible with Windows 7 .
Try upgrading it to the latest version .i.e Acrobat 11.0.10 or any higher versions than Acrobat 8.
Many folks have gotten AA8 to work on Win7. I have only heard of one report suggesting that AA8 will work on a 64-bit system, and I am not sure about the report. If you have a 64-bit system, you will likely need to upgrade, though if you play around you might be successful in finding a solution (Adobe will not help since it is not a certified platform, but some folks here might if they have been successful).
In any case, after installation you will need to do the updates for proper operation. If you can not do them from within Acrobat, you may have to download them fromhttp://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. You need to install the updates in ORDER unless indicated other wise. Reboots can typically be saved until the last update is installed.

  • Problems in Windows 8 creating PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.5

I am running Windows 8 with the latest version of MS Office (version 14) and Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.5.  I was not having any problems making/printing PDF documents until about 30 days ago.  The only things that I can think of that have changed during this time period is 1) I updated my Office Suite to version 14 from the previous version and, most recently, 2) my Adobe Acrobat Reader program was automatically updated to the latest version.  I ended-up uninstalled Adobe Reader becuase the new program became my default for openning all Adobe PDF files, even when I tried to force my computer to use Adobe Acrobat Pro as the default (becuase doing so allows me to edit docments with features not available in the free Reader version).  When I go to print a Word document, for example, to Adobe Acrobat, the process stalls/stops at the point where you are supposed to choose a location to print/safe the new PDF document file.  All I get is the Save-As Screen with most of the buttons and folder tree blank (see example below).  After 5-10 seconds, "not responding" shows up in the title of the Save-As Screen and I have to click the "X" box in the upper right corner to abort.  This problem seems to have first started when trying to print pictures from the Windows picture viewer.  After a while long, I noticed that the same problem occured when printing from my internet browser (Firefox), but I coudl still print from Word or Excel.  Now, as of the last couple of days, I can't print from any program except the basic Paint software program.  I think this may actually be a Windows issue because when trying to toublshoot this problem, I re-installed Adobe Acrobat Pro and it did not help. I also tried making PDF documents using the free PrimoPDF software and had the exact same problem.  I have no idea where to go from here.  All I know is that I desperately need to create PDF documents and cannot!  Please help!!

You're asking a lot of ancient Acrobat to work with an Office that never existed when it was made. "Just updated my office suite" is a massive change, and Window 8 didn't exist at that time either...

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 quits

Why does Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 quit unexpectedly while I am making corrections on a document? I get an error message that says "Application Adobe quit unexpectedly." Then I have to relaunch.

You have to provide mroe info for sure.
In most instances I find that PDF document that is either corrupt or does not have embedded font crashes.
    Check fonts and PDF.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro X and Adobe Reader 9 compatibility with Mac.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription

I am currently considering buying the Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription service.
I am quite new to cloud computing and I do not have a fast internet connection. Also at times I need to work offline such as when travelling in trains and aircraft.
Does this mean that all work I will be doing with PDFs will now be in a browser?
Am I able to store my documents locally?
Is there a local installation that comes with the online subscription that allows me to work offline also?
How well does Adobe Acrobat Pro work if the user's internet connection is slow?
It would be great if Adobe could address these sorts of basic questions in an FAQ page - or if there is one make it easier to find because I didn't see one!
I would appreciate any advice or feedback from users who have already subscribed.
    Thanks

Does this mean that all work I will be doing with PDFs will now be in a browser?
No, you will be in Adobe Acrobat as you are familiar with now and it will be installed on your drive just like it always has been installed.
Am I able to store my documents locally?
Yes of course you are.  You don't have to save anything in the cloud that you don't want to save in the cloud.  The cloud storage is a convenience.
Is there a local installation that comes with the online subscription that allows me to work offline also?
Yes, the installation is local.  Only the licensing is in the "cloud".  You DO need to be signed into the Creative Cloud but that's about it.  If you are disconnected it doesn't matter unless it is for extended periods.  Think weeks.
How well does Adobe Acrobat Pro work if the user's internet connection is slow?
Again the only thing that gets checked in the cloud is the licensing and that is on a timeframe setup by Adobe

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.0 will not print SRA3 size paper

I created an Adobe InDesign file 320x450mm (SRA3) and saved it as a a High Quality PDF. However, when I print from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 with SRA3 paper size settings, it defaults to A4 and the printer will not register the SRA3 paper size request. The tech from Canon updated the printer driver which increased print dialog options such as Paper Handling, Paper Source etc. (which I didn't have before) and spent over an hour running tests. We both agreed there was a software issue since there were not issues from other software:
I can print SRA3 files from InDesign and Microsoft Word, but not Adobe Acrobat Pro.
This is an ongoing problem since I often receive artwork in PDF format at this size.
My workaround is to place the PDF into InDesign, line up the crops by eye and print to SRA3 paper which works fine until I need to do a double sided print which becomes slightly innacurate and often time consuming.
    Canon printer driver specs:
    V2.0
    iR-ADV C5045/5051 PS (UK)

What happens if you select other paper sizes? Also ensure that 'choose paper source by PDF page size' is not checked at your print dialog.
Kindly let us know your results and if possible please forward us your pdf at [email protected]
Looking forward to help you out.
    Thanks

  • Confirmation That I Understand What I Can and Cannot Do With Adobe Reader XI and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI

I am new to working with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and Adobe Reader XI.  Based on research I have done and questions answered in the Adobe Communities and Forum, I wanted to make sure I understand the limitations of these two products before I report back to my supervisor.  (We do not want to use XFA forms to obtain data in an xml file.)
    1.  Adobe Reader XI will allow a user to save a fillable PDF document to his/her local PC.  But it is only possible to save it as a PDF.
    2.  Adobe Reader XI will not allow a user to export the data in a fillable PDF into an xml file (unless you purchase the LiveCycle Reader Extensions license).
    3.  Adobe Reader XI will not allow a PDF file to be displayed in a .NET program unless the "Enable Protected Mode at startup" checkbox in Preferences/Security(Enhanced) has been unchecked.  (The previous version of Reader would allow this without disabling security.)
    4.  Adobe Acrobat Pro XI will allow a user to scan a form and create a fillable PDF.
    5.  Adobe Acrobat Pro XI will allow a user to save the fillable form as a PDF or XML.  However, it is the form that is being saved as an XML file.  Not the data.
    6.  Adobe Acrobat Pro XI will allow a user to export the data of a form into an xml file, an .fdf file, an .xfdf file, or a .txt file.
    7.  If a programmer writes a program in .NET to save the data of a PDF as an .xfdf file using IAC code, it will only work on a PC that has Adobe Acrobat (Standard or Pro).  If we need this executable to work on other PCs, we would need to purchase additional licenses of Adobe Acrobat - a license for every PC that needs to run the executable.
    8.  If a programmer writes  JavaScript code using trusted functions to get around security issues, that code will work on a PC that has Adobe Acrobat (Standard or Pro) but will not work on Adobe Reader XI.  Again, if we wanted our JavaScript to work, we would need to purchase Adobe Acrobat for every PC that would run the code.
Please let me know if I have understood all of this correctly.  Thank you.

Thank you for your comments to each of my statements, Irosenth.  That has been extremely helpful.
I probably needed more of an explanation on statement #3.  I wrote a .NET program that used this line:   "Process.Start("AcroRd32", FilePath)" and when I ran the executable on a desktop PC that only had Adobe Reader XI on it, Reader would not open unless we unchecked the "Enable Protected Mode at startup" box.  I researched this and found several references to this being a problem in Readers since Reader 9.  I just wanted to make sure this was correct.  One article indicated that we could change the security setting within the registry using code and then change it back.
Item #8 needed more information as well.  I had tried to use the "exportAsXFDF()" in a trusted function and it would never work in Reader.  It has an "F" in the availability column of the "Quick Bar" in the JavaScript API Reference which means it requires "forms rights".  I saw that; but it was not clear to me if that meant that a trusted function would work.  So, it looks like trusted functions will not get around security settings if forms rights are required.

  • CS4 suite serial number does not work for Adobe Acrobat Pro

    Hello,
I am looking for a solution for the serial number issue I am having with Adobe Acrobat Pro. All of other programs within the suite open fine, but when I open Adobe Acrobat Pro it asks for a serial number. When I type in the serial number, I am given a red "X".
I have called customer support, but they haven't been able to give me any information that will resolve my issue (uninstalled 4 times now). I have Vista and have looked online and on the Adobe website to find a solution. It looks like others are having the same issue from what I can tell while searching. I have run the script too and then reinstalled, but still nothing.

After some stupid upgrade in my computer (who knows as Microsoft is always doing something), my Acrobat 9 in CS4 stopped working. The error message said to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat. So I went through the control panel and uninstalled it. I then loaded the CD and reinstalled. However the reinstall would NOT accept the orginal serial number. I called Adobe and they gave me a different serial number. Before I let the guy nof the line I tried the  number and it did NOT work! So then he gave me another number which  asked for the previous verison- apparently it was an upgrade number. Luckily I had my old CS3 software and I gave it that number and then it accepted the install. The program now works BUT there is no longer any ADD/REMOVE choice in the CS4 suite in the control panel. There is no way to automatically remove this program anymore! What a mess.
After reading some of the installation problems others have had and no solutions, I count myself lucky! At least I was able to get the program running.
Therefore my advise on the serial number problem is to get Adobe on the phonen and get them to give you a number that will work, and don't hang up until you know the program is working!
If anyone knows how to add the Acrobat to the the add/remove functions in the control panel, please let me know!

  • How does Adobe ExportPDF differ from the export feature in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0?

How does Adobe ExportPDF differ from the export feature in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0?

ExportPDF is based on a newer conversion engine than the one found in Acrobat 9.0.  They're similar in some respects, but ExportPDF is more advanced.
