Does Adobe Acrobat XI Std include Distiller?

Hello brenda,
looking to my WIN start menu, Distiller is listed as an indipendent program (see screenshot of my German WIN):
To further intensify here some links where you can find some informations:

  • Multiple shortcut toolbars in Adobe Acrobat x std

    I'm looking for a way to have multiple shortcut toolbar lines in Adobe Acrobat X std.  I don't like the drop down tool bar that is present.  I use multiple addins in my toolbar and I want to see them all up in the toolbar for easy use.  Is there a way to add multiple lines of toolbars instead of having the drop down overflow box?

    You'll want to ask in the forum for Acrobat. This one is for the free Reader which cannot do any of this.
    But to get you started, you can use Document>Extract pages to create a new file of the modified pages...

    But the best Adobe app by far for this job is Photoshop. It gives more control, and makes a higher quality.

  • Does Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional support image which has been converted to a PDF to be edited?

    Hi,
    Does Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional support the content of an image which has been converted to a PDF file to be edited?
    Sometimes when I try to edit the content of a PDF file which was created by converting an image into a PDF file, I notice that Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional tells me that this Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot support this content.
    On the other hand, even if Adobe Acrobat professional could edit a PDF file, I notice that there are far too many restrictions to edit the content, for example, if your new editing words are more than the old then the line goes out the page instead of going to a new line. In addition, if you reached to the end of a line, and then you press 'Enter' to let the rest of words of the last line be written  on the next line, you notice that the words  writes on the words of  line which follows the line which is being edited. As a result, the text would be quite crazy.
    Any comments would be highly appreciated
    Thanks a lot,

  • Will Adobe Acrobat X Std work on an XP system?

    I own Adobe Acrobat X Std for my desktop that runs Windows 7.  My old laptop is running Windows XP.
    Can I download X to my laptop without updating Acrobat 5?  I have been loading updates for 2.5 hrs and it is still working!  If Acrobat 5 cannot be upgraded directly to X Std. Can I remove it from the laptop and download the highest version that is compatible as I have been using and upgrading Adobe Acrobat for years, (I have been upgrading from version to version over the years).

    Hi jjtexas,
    Welcome to the Community!
    Updating Acrobat 5 will not install Acrobat X as updates are for that particular version only. It has to be a new installation, yes Acrobat X standard is compatible to run on Windows XP with Service Pack 3 for 32 bit or Service Pack 2 for 64 bit.
    Thanks!

  • Does Adobe Acrobat run on Lion?

    Does Adobe Acrobat 7 run on Lion?
    It's giving me an error message because Power PC applications are not supported.
    Do I have to buy new software?

    It certainly won't be a free upgrade, if that's what you mean. Adobe does have an upgrade to go from Acrobat 7 Pro to Acrobat X Pro. From Amazon it's $184.00 US.

  • Why does Adobe Acrobat now control the photos on my pc?

    Why does Adobe Acrobat now control the photos on my pc?

    Hi,
    Thank you for your reply.
    After I downloaded Acrobat, Adobe Reader tries to control viewing of my photos.  When I plug my digital camera into the PC, all the files are labeled “PDF”; the files still have the .jpg extension, though.  For photos on my PC, when I try to open them, Adobe reader insists on opening them, but it can’t, and I get the message:
                “Adobe Reader could not open photo.jpg because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged”
    I attached several photos to an e-mail that I sent after downloading Acrobat, and I could not open the photos before sending the e-mail (in order to verify that they were the correct photos before I sent the e-mail).  Adobe Reader was my only option when I clicked “open” to view a photo, and it would not open the photo.
    I assume that I did something during the Acrobat download process that has caused this situation.  My plan is to uninstall Acrobat and then re-install it and this will hopefully remove this situation.
    Any suggestions you have about this situation would be greatly appreciated.

  • Does Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 works fine on Windows 2008 64-bit R2 server?

    Hi,
    Currently, we use Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.1 on Windows 2003 server.  We mainly use the Distiller to convert PDF files.
    If we migrate the 2003 server to Windows 2008 64-bit R2 server, does version 8.1 works fine?
    If not, which version support Windows 2008 64-bit R2 server?
    Appreciate to have a feedback.

    As long as you are looking to use it for local use only, and not as part of the server, I suspect it does work. AA X is the first that was certified for operation on Server 2008, but still only for local use. Any server use is a violation of the license. If you have Server 2008, why not just try it -- but be sure to abide with the license. Be sure to install the updates with the 64-bit system.

  • Does Adobe Acrobat Pro or Reader mount all listed network folders in Mac OS X 10.6?

    I administer several Macintoshes on a managed network. Recently, we migrated most machines to Mac OS X 10.6. Now, when users navigate to a network folder to open a document from Acrobat Pro 9, Acrobat Pro X or Acrobat Reader X, any folder shown in the "Open" window from Acrobat is mounted on the user's desktop. The protocol doesn't matter - the server could be accessed via smb or afp. If the file is held in a network folder near the bottom of the alphabet, all folders that are exposed in the "Open" window mount. Not only does this create clutter and confusion for the user, but sometimes it crashes Acrobat.
    This behavior is present only in Acrobat Reader, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and X. No other application, Adobe or not has this affect navigating through the open file function.
    This behavior is present after complete uninstall/reinstalls of the applications.
    This behavior is present in any account – local or network.
    This behavior is present on any Macintosh running Max OS X 10.6.
    This behavior is NOT present in OS X 10.5.
    Can anyone else in this forum duplicate or explain this behavior?

    Hi Onewizard,
    I tried and checked this on different version of Acrobat and Reader however not able to replicate this behavior. I am on MAC 10.6.8

  • Does Adobe Acrobat 6 support PDFFILENAME as did as did with version 5?

    I posted a question earlier to ask how to remove "save pdf File as" dialog.
    It turned out that the ExtEscape function not working right and return 0 with adobe acrobat 6 even though the same code return 1 (success) with adobe acrobat 5.
    "The return value is zero if the escape is not implemented."
    I did a complete adobe acrobat 6 install. How did this could happen?
    I am using an older version of pdfwctrl.h with copyright Copyright 1994 - 2001.
    Please help.
    Here is the code
    static int PDFWriterInit(
    HDC hDC,
    const _TCHAR *pOutputFileName
    PDFINPUT pdfInput;
    PDFDocInfo pdfdocinfo;
    ZeroMemory(&pdfdocinfo, sizeof pdfdocinfo);
    TCharToSingleByte(pOutputFileName, pdfInput.outputfilename,
    sizeof pdfInput.outputfilename / sizeof pdfInput.outputfilename[0]);
    strcpy(pdfdocinfo.title, "my_title");
    strcpy(pdfdocinfo.author, "my_author");
    strcpy(pdfdocinfo.subject, "my_subject");
    strcpy(pdfdocinfo.keywords, "my_keywords");
    // Although it is possible to set the following fields, we do not suggest that
    // you do so. If you leave these blank PDF Writer will fill in appropriate values.
    // If you set the date yourself and it does not meet the PDF specification it may
    // cause trouble for readers of the PDF. PDFWriter will set the appropriate date
    // using the system clock, use the application name from the DOCINFO struct and
    // set itself as the producer
    #if 0
    strcpy(pdfdocinfo.creationDate, "my_date");
    strcpy(pdfdocinfo.creator, "my_creator");
    strcpy(pdfdocinfo.producer, "my_producer");
    strcpy(pdfdocinfo.modDate, "my_modDate");
    #endif
    pdfInput.docinfo = pdfdocinfo;
    if (ExtEscape(hDC, PDFFILENAME, sizeof pdfInput,
    (LPSTR)&pdfInput, 0, NULL) < 0)
    return -1;
    return 0;

  • Adobe Acrobat 11 pro includes form central?

    Hi, I am buying adobe acrobat 11pro, and I think it includes form central templates, if I wanna create conditional based form which I think PDF doesnt support, and I dont want to embed the form into website, so what are my options.
    1. I want to create conditional form if I can do that in PDF is really good, like live cycle designer can do.
    2. If I buy adobe acrobat 11 pro then I'll have access to form central ?
    3. If I create a form in form central then is it possible I can see all the response in my inbox rather then seeing them online?

    1-Acrobat XI and FormsCentral cannot create PDF forms with conditional logic. FormsCentral web forms do support conditional logic.
    2-You have access to the free version. If you want additional capabilities you would need to purchase FormsCentral Basic or Plus subscription
    3-FormsCentral supports sending email notifications that include a summary of the data in the email body text.

  • Does Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro work with Windows 7?

    I'm having a printing from Word to .PDF issue using Acrobat Pro 8 on a Windows 7 Pro OS. It's not working. It starts as though it's going to work and then nothing. The printer icon in the system tray only states printer error and then I have to cancel the print job. I'm using Word 2013 also.

    Hi Greggory Bowles,
    Acrobat 8 pro is not compatible with MS Office 2013. You might prefer buying a newer version of Acrobat with Latest Features and Security Updates (Buying guide | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro).

  • Why does Adobe Acrobat XI 11.0.07 take 2 minutes to load a Brother Scanner Interface dialog?

    Just updated OS X to 10.10 (Yosemite), on a MacBook Pro Retina (i7 processor, 8 GB) today.
    Now, after having trouble, so uninstalled & reinstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11.0.07), I'm further delayed each time I try to scan.
    In the past, I've used the menus in Acrobat to scan:  File / Create / PDF from Scanner.
    This immediately shows the first of two dialog boxes:  ADOBE SCAN, where I select Brother TWAIN as the input, scan to a new PDF document, no OCR, not PDF/A, not Optimized) and click Scan.
    This brings up the second dialog box (BROTHER TWAIN), which sets resolution, color or black / white, and page size.  This second dialog box used to appear right away - now there is always a 2 minute delay, before the 2nd dialog box appears, during which time the system is responsive but Acrobat appears non-responsive.
    So, why the 2 minute delay?

    I'd like to add that I'm having the exact same issue, which started after the Acrobat 11.0.09 upgrade in Yosemite.  The previous version of Acrobat worked just fine in Yosemite.
    I have a Brother ADS-1500W, and the same symptoms as the OP, which are:
    I click File > Create PDF from Scanner
    I get the Adobe scanner window, where I input my settings.
    I click "Scan", then have a 1-2 minute wait before my actually scanner input window comes up.
    I'm a creative cloud subscriber, how can I downgrade to 11.0.0?
    EDIT: (Temporarily?) Fixed
    I saw another brother user report that updating their scanner drivers directly from Brother fixed the issue.  I downloaded the latest printer drivers directly from Brother here, (version 3.10.0, released on 10/23/2014) and the transition from the Adobe to the Brother/OSX scan dialogue is once again instant. Other users have reported that the fix goes away on restart, so I'll see if I can avoid restarting until Adobe/Brother comes up with a more permanent fix.
