Does Adobe bother to test their software before release?

The question says it all, IF Adobe did test their software before releasing it there would/should be no problems.  It appears that Adobe are releasing Beta Versions for us PAYING CUSTOMERS to trial.  When we pay for a product it is supposed to be a full version not a BETA or pre-release.  Time for us users to start legal action against ADOBE!!!

Will it be possible to make a copy of all the security settings in IE10 that will guarantee that the AW Player will run without any problems?
It is not the player that is the problem – it is the security settings in IE10!

  • How does Adobe Forms Central base their automated page breaks when distributing to a PDF form?

    OR
How can I define those page breaks before Adobe Forms Central created the PDF. I have attempted to "insert" a page break within the form; however, when distributing this form to be created as a PDF, the PDF is still placing the auto-generated page break wherever it wants.
Is it possible to move these auto generated breaks once the PDF form is created?
    Thank you!

Did you add the page breaks while in Web View or Page View? FormsCentral uses "web view" as the default, but uses the "page view" to show where the PDF will have page breaks. Go to the menu bar on the top right, select "view," and then select "page view." You  should be able to see page breaks here, and move them where you'd like them. It won't affect what people see on the web, just in the PDF.

  • MSI People looks like they just cant test their firmware before distributing it.

hey guys, i think ill have to teach you something
this message doesnt concern any of the customers, only MSI staff
a couple of months ago, i tryd to upgrade my MSI megaplayer 515 to the
latest version available (3.0.0.12) which made my mp3 player crash for 48 hrs
for absolutely no reason, today i noticed you had a 3.0.0.13 which pretended to solve
the crash problems under playlist, it crashed anyway, but now it crash open instead of closed
now i have to wait for the batteries to go down, because of you.
can you just tell me whats your problem of delivering buggy software ?
dont tell i just have to describe you the bug so you could fix it, im not your betatester, dont tell me you cant have
a megaplayer 515 just to test what youve done, and if it crashes, you dont put it on your website. is it so hard to do ?

  • Does Adobe Reader need the internet enabled before it will read a document?

For the past two days my internet has been down due to 'electric' storms in the UK. I tried to open a few .PDF files during this time, and they would open but as soon as I tried to scroll down, they froze and said "Adobe Reader is Not Responding".
As soon as the internet came back on, I tried again and they all opened and were 'scrollable'! I never realised that Adobe Reader needed the internet to function before it would work.
    Is this normal?

I wasn't aware that was normal behaviour. Most people have laptops that are at some point NOT connected to the internet. One would hope that the pdf reader works regardless, how about all the business users that like to read documents during a flight etc... The examples are countless.
    Cheers.

  • Does Adobe still make donations of software access to non-profit institutions?

My company used to use Techsoup to receive adobe products at a heavily discounted rate. Since Adobe has moved to creative cloud, we are unsure if there is a process to continue this donation. WHat is avaiable?

  • Does Adobe Send work with Apple software?

Frequently Adobe references PC products like "Outlook".  But what about Apple products, will it work just as well?
    Thanks, Janice

You can see what operating systems and browsers our services are compatible with here:  System Requirements | Adobe Acrobat Pro and Online Services
The reason that the Adobe Send for Outlook is not available for the Mac is that Outlook on the Mac doesn't support plugins.

  • I'm wondering if apple tested this version before release...

I downloaded 7.7 on my mac, closed out the downloads i had going, and now it wont connect to the itunes store. i've restarted, re-downloaded, and am still having the same issue. Please help.

Hi - I got mine working again by Rebooting my BT Home Hub - this is my ADSL router.
Changed nothing just switched it on and off again - works perfect now.
    Hope that helps

  • Adobe - Can you please get your code straight before releasing it !

The Adobe Creative Cloud CC version is the drop that makes the water in the glass spill over...
The Creative Cloud App is not at all reflecting anything current etc.. and one has to sign out all the time.
    This is baby-code !
Lightroom 5 is about the most erratic software I have ever worked with...
    1) Constant Freezes
    2) New Version 5.2 NOT showing in Creative Cloud App
    3) When trying to download manually - ACC app opens and nothing happens
    4) If one selects 2500 Photos in Lightroom and reply a preset to all the images at one WHILE the previews are being updated) LR WILL freeze
    etc etc etc etc
You really should be testing you software before you release it to the public. You code has been disintegrating the past years and I ann many of the co-workers
are just waiting for other apps to emerge. What happened to the old adobe ? The quality-makers ????
I'm on OS X 10.8 and have NO idea what it looks like in the windows world. But I know that you have completely LOST any control over your own apps on OS X!
I am a very unhappy camper and if this does not change in the near future you are going to have people that littel cure adobe river !

    Hi ;-)
    1) I have used LR since V1 and since V4 this software along with ALL adobes software has been fiercely deteriorating.
    2) Adobe according to themselves ARE reading and responding to these forums... Unless they support pages are as bull as their "alleged" real human behind a chat ;-)
    3) I process around 30,000 images per week in Lightroom (paid work) and let me tell you at that amount of images... This app is not in the pro league... BUT it COULD be... If only adobe would test their software prior to embarkin on the PAYING public... Perhaps because so manu are using pirated versions of adobes software, they have stopped caring.. As a long time paying client I feel *****-slapped !@
I do NOT beta test for adobe ! If they wanna get rid of their bugs, all they need to do is to contact me and add me to the list.. That will fix at least 100 bugs currently IN the ware... But I highly doubt that they beta test this software... If they do, they should REALLY skim thru their testers and relieve them of their duty - No personal offence meant !

  • Does Adobe Care Anymore?

Now that Quark XPress is all but dead (yay!), and there's no other comparable page-layout program, does Adobe really care about their customers?
I'm prompted to pose that question since the introduction of InDesign CC and CC2014. I've been using Adobe products for years: PageMaker 3 through 7, Photoshop 2 through CS6, and then InDesign 1 through CC2014. I've always loved Adobe products and can't live without them, UNTIL the CC version came out. Even after a couple of updates, it's still filled with annoying bugs, a lot of UI inconsistencies, it's incredibly slow to do all sorts of things at times, and crashes nearly as much as Quark XPress used to.
These problems occur on dozens of computers at my workplace with different versions of OSX as well as three computers I use in my home office as a freelancer. I only use CC when I absolutely have to (generally when I take work home over the weekend), but all my freelance work remains in CS6, which is still the most rock-solid version of InDesign ever.
For the first time I'm having to use an Adobe product that I honestly don't enjoy. Sad.

I was going to stay out of this silly conversation...
Now that Quark XPress is all but dead (yay!), and there's no other comparable page-layout program, does Adobe really care about their customers?
Whether ya like the application, have had issues with it, or simple hate it/the company for whatever reason, if you believe as your rhetorical question implies that Adobe doesn't care, shouldn't you root for Q to survive and maybe even prosper for the sake of competition? To keep the honest, honest. To encourage innovation? Whatever. I use both and more.
I think Adobe wants to survive and thrive. While desktop applications may only be a part of its business revenue, it is a decent part of it. Adobe doesn't want people to abandon ship. Regardless of how you, me or the man in the moon would make business choices "if we were in charge," Adobe gets to make its own for better or worse. Some of those choices are definitely not the ones I would make...but neither are choices made by my elected officials. Or my wife or children over certain matters. But none of them ask my advice nor would take it anyway. Which is why they don;t ask I suppose.
As for CC itself? CC 2014 is definitely a productivity boost here. Makes my perpetual license CS6 seem like it's a pig on when running on my laptop. On the desktop there is less a difference but there is still a difference, especially noticeable when I am bringing in large chunks of XML. CC is just plain quicker at it. But none of the 3 versions of ID crash or freeze hardly ever here. (No more or less than does any version of Q, either.) Happens once in a blue moon and it is most often when I am running resources low, too many applications running for a too long a period of time without ever shutting down and restarting the computers.
Ah well. First cup of Joe is finished. Time to do something positive with the day.

why does adobe premier elements render my video everytime i change something in it even when i have lots more of the video to edit? other editing software only seems to render at the start then lets you edit until your ready to save at the end.  Constant rendering means its almost impossible to edit anything. Please help.

What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system is it running? It will not influence my answer but will give me information in case I need to get into version specifics to detail my answer further.
Timeline rendering is a preview matter. It does not fix anything, but it is your window of opportunity to catch of problem sooner than latter. If the Timeline rendering indicator displays orange (11 or higher) for the line above the Timeline content, that is the project telling you that you are not getting the best possible preview of the playback of that content in the Edit area monitor. And, every time you edit a file, you have altered the file from the time before. So, if you want to see the best possible for what you now have, you Timeline render. This is particularly helpful when you are dealing with titles, effects, transitions, and non native formats. You cannot turn off the Timeline render indicator system, at least none that I have ever found nor seen reported. You can do selective Timeline rendering by having the gray tabs of the Work Area Bar span only the Timeline segment that you want Timeline rendered.
Consequently, you either ignore the Timeline render indicator system, move on in the project, and take your chances in the outcome or you Timeline render to get your best possible preview if the Timeline render indicator is suggesting that you do so.
I am not approving or disapproving of this project feature, just commenting on the what is.
This is not Adobe. Rather user to user. If you want to have your voice heard at Adobe, you might consider filing an Adobe Feature Request Bug Report Form.

    Please consider.

Add On...it is also possible to do Timeline rendering in a project, save close the project, and reopen it to find your previously "green" lined content now "orange", indicating unrendered. Yet the preview files generated originally by Timeline rendering are still existing in their hard drive save location. That is another story for other time.

  • Why does Adobe sneak Google software into Flash Player updates?

Why does Adobe sneak Google Toolbar and Google Chrome into Flash Player updates?  I am tired of waiting for this alien software to download and, in some cases, having to uninstall it.

We don't like this yet tolerate it becaue ADOBE is unconcerned with OUR opinions and there is no suitable replacement for Flash or Reader as of yet.  However, I am certain that the "Land of Opportunity" will soon provide an alternative to accepting this deceiptful practice and we will abandon Adobe Flash en mass.  Only when this policy affects the price of stocks will Management take this seriously.  Once it hits their pocketbooks, they will take notice but the question then will be "is it too late?"  I am also looking for alternatives to Google and would appreciate any suggestions.

If you open the Organizer and go to Edit>Preferences>Camera or Card Reader, do you have Auto Launch Adobe Photo Downloader on Device Connect checked?
Try checking that if you don't.

  • I downloaded a cheap PDF editor and it converted all my PDFs to their software. Then when I deleted it, I cannot open them in the Adobe format any longer. Please let me know how to get them back!

I downloaded a cheap PDF editor and it converted all my PDFs to their software. Then when I deleted it, I cannot open them in the Adobe format any longer. Please let me know how to get them back!

It's important to understand that when this sort of thing happens files aren't "converted" at all.
In Windows and Mac, there is just one app (program) that it run when you double click a type of file. There's an app for Word documents (Microsoft Word). There's an app for PDF files. So all that happened is that you installed an app which can open PDF files.
Nothing changed in the files. You can still open them the traditional way if you forget double click - start the app, use Open from the File menu.

how on earth do you contact adobe - i lost my serial number before registering my standalone software...the phone service is offshore and not very helpful - the chat (i thought it was realtime) has been slow - if i understand, you need your proof of purchase and they will issue a serial number

To help address performance issues the Identi-e web site is currently down for maintenance.  If you are trying to redeem a product code to obtain your serial number for the Student & Teacher edition of our software you will currently be unable to do so. We would recommend installing the software in trial mode for the moment until the maintenance period is complete.
