Our Japanese team would like to translate the scripts we are using for our videos and have us apply the translation in the closed captions section. However, will Adobe 7 or 8 support Japanese Characters?

Sometimes when I try to edit the content of a PDF file which was created by converting an image into a PDF file, I notice that Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional tells me that this Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot support this content.
On the other hand, even if Adobe Acrobat professional could edit a PDF file, I notice that there are far too many restrictions to edit the content, for example, if your new editing words are more than the old then the line goes out the page instead of going to a new line. In addition, if you reached to the end of a line, and then you press 'Enter' to let the rest of words of the last line be written on the next line, you notice that the words writes on the words of line which follows the line which is being edited. As a result, the text would be quite crazy.

For example, if you insert extra words or characters, the text does not automatically word-wrap. In addition, the "Enter key" does not work properly to insert a new line at the expected position. I solved the problem. I used Internet Explorer, 64-bit. If I use Internet Explorer 32-bit the PDF-file displays in browser. If I use Internet Explorer 64-bit Adobe Reader X opens the PDF-file outside browser.

It isn't supported right now. It should be supportable (you will have to write native code) in an upcoming release. Same for iOS/Android notifications.

Sorry to butt in. We used to double-shoot, too, but after a couple of years we discovered it was unnecessary when using both Aperture and Lightroom. Your workflow will be different from ours of course, and one does what one needs to do. We found the duplicate images were tedious and, even though they were quite small compared to the NEFs, they occupied a lot of space that was needlessly redundant. Does Adobe have a tech support contact for Flash on browsers?

I am looking how to escalate to Adobe Tech Support but paying 29 bux an hour for some recruited college Grad that knows to little doesnt suit me.
Bought an HP Quad and it had Win7 home so poorly installed, configured, overloaded with junk, would not backup, when it did backup and create a repair disk they wouldnt restore. HP's preloaded Win7 build both IE8 and Firefox were crashing with both BSOD and Browsers not responding and dying. Firefox never responds to anything, Microsoft indicates is an add on problem but I think it can be a flash issue although it occurs much more on Wiin7 (ANY Version) for 32 or 64 bit. I have been screwing with this for a month screaming at Microsoft and Mozilla but its a waste of time.
Microsoft forums are polluted for Win7 browser BSOD and Browser halting then crashing posts, there answer is disable add-ons. I cant surf the net without add ons so that is a stupid reponse of finger pointing, giving appearance that Msoft, Adobe and Mozilla dont communicate. No company will take ownership and drive the issue to find the root cause and where ever that cause is make them fix it, Msfot, Adobe of Firefox.   so what do ya do?
    The HP PC with horrible preload of win7 finally died and killed the build but Microsoft was equally useless in helping me repair that preloaded junk even though the OS is theres.    I BOUGHT real disks because HP couldnt support the mess - HP couldnt support chewing food let alone the mess they place on PC's with 90% asian parts with old drivers.   Eleven escaltions starting on DAY 1 of ownership of a Pavilion. Hundreds of crash dump error reports sent to Firefox has still gone unresponsed, as they employ the 5th ammendment ,method of silence without support and Msoft remove all add on is laughable but proves HP. Firefox and MicroSoft wont assume responsibilty.
This sucks as all three gloat and boast about a HIGH levels of support and awards won for support but it is all myth, and laughably a lie but I still want it repaired.   28 years in IT - retired I feel qualififed to make the observation.
I never attempted to contact Adobe but I get redirected after seeing the warning about 39 bucks an hour to answer a phone for a freeware add-on.
Does anyone know of have a escalation path to a real person at adobe or department beause tthis site redirects from the ASK Adobe Support link meaning I cant even mail a question to then, Already a BAD sign but the driver is free, but they wrote, and millions are having issue so where is there support - Why bother writing the addon if people cant even ask a question.
So does any know if they support the flash add-on without charging?     a Glitch they might want to know about is flash 10.0.0.1 shows in Win7 Event logs as version 0.0.0.1 and I have logs showing that an addon report from the DEP (Data Execution Service) saw an add-on go to a non executalbe memory region whenthe only add-on I have is flash.
Google for IE8 Browser Crash 566,500, Win7 Browser crash 1,500,000, Firefox crashing 587,000, Firefox flash crash 1,420,000, Adobe flash crash 1,820,000,   are 4,615,500 google posts found for one issue and I know there are more than that failing but Im sick of the whole thing so adobe is my last gasp.   Please respond if you have a fix or path to escalate to adobe.

What a mess that no company so far stands up willing to take ownership of this just to find the root cause.

I don't have a definitive answer, but I would guess you won't find a tech support service dedicated to the Flash Player since it is free software and customers apparently have problems getting tech support for the products they buy. But here are a couple of things worth considering.

Does Adobe have plan to support outgoing HTTPS reuqests

It looks like on AMS it's not possible to make an HTTPS request at all. I tried with XML class and LoadVars class. It looks like AMS is not even trying to make any connection when the URL has HTTPS:// on it. The online references I was able to find indicate that it's not supported in AMS. If I am not wrong, Does Adobe have any plan to support this in future?

An authoritative answer to your question requires access to and revelation of "insider" as well as "forward looking" information...both of which are forbidden on this site. Rather, all that can be said is individual opinion and theory. But, based on how things have migrated with BB10, my opinion is that the answer is no.
Note, please, that there is a vast difference in pricing in different regions of the world. For example, in my country, a BIS plan costs significantly more than the non-BIS plans, making BB10 devices much more affordable (from the monthly cost perspective) than legacy devices that required BIS.

Does Adobe Captivate 4 allow you to produce output in the H.264 format?

O.K., I don't really understand my own question. My department is probably buying some additional Captivate licenses for a project. One of the techies asked a colleague of mine if the Captivate licenses we are buying will allow us to publish in H.264.
I don't have Captivate 4, but I'm guessing the answer is "No". Based on my understanding, H.264 is the codec for the MPEG-4 video format utilized by iTunes, YouTube, etc. Not that I fully understand exactly what a codec is.
My assumption is that a .swf to video converter would be needed to publish Captivate files in the H.264 format.
Is this correct? Or is this capability part of Adobe Captivate 4?

I certainly cannot claim to be any sort of expert on the H.264 format, but Captivate 4 only produces SWF, EXE and AVI formats. So you are correct in that you would need to convert from either the SWF or AVI format to an H.264 format. From what I understand, AVI and MP4 are the two file extensions you may find H.264 file format used. So I suppose it's possible to say that if you have a CODEC (Compressor/Decompressor) installed for H.264, Captivate could spit out an AVI encoded in H.264 format.

Why Does Adobe Captivate 8 Web Object Not Get Published Correctly

I am trying to insert a YouTube video in Adobe Captivate and publish it. While it previews fine, when i publish it as an SWF, i see just a blank frame.
Can you help out here? Also, if I want to publish it as an PDF, will the video play there too?

Hi Akshay,
I am assuming the method you are using now is embedding Youtube videos into your Web object. My suggestion is it will be much easier if you use the Youtube Learning Interaction instead of a Web object to insert Youtube videos to your Captivate project.
This can be found in the Interactions Toolbar -> Learning Interactions -> Youtube
Also, as Sreekanth mentioned, please test it on a web server, or SCORM cloud.
Youtube interaction will work when exported to PDF as well.

In Adobe Reader X, which option does in fact select the PAdES Part3. I see in Digital Signatures Advanced Preferences, as Default Signature Signing Format only two options : PKCS#7 - Detached and CAdES Equivalent.

I already used Captivate trial version and planning to purchase the monthly subscrition verion. The .cp files expired after the trial time ended.
What happens, if I purchase Captive subscription for two month, export and deliver projects for my clients and do not renew my subscription, cause there is no project at all for half a year?
Does these deliverd .cp files expire and not usable for my customers?
