Does Adobe Dynamic Links slow down the rendering process ?

Hello everybody,
I have a question concerning Adobe Dynamic Links.
This is my problem :
I work on After Effects. I have a composition that is rendered quite fast. (almost in real time...)
But when I open the linked comp in Premiere Pro, it lags as hell. Maybe 2x, 3x slower.
So I'd like to know why Adobe Premiere Pro is slow, while After Effects is fast ?
Is this normal ?
What can I do about it ?

If I have my boot drive in Bay 3 or Bay 4 will it slow down the startup process? I know in old PCs it would look for the boot drive by looking each time in a certain order. If the MP did that then it would probably look at Bay 3 and Bay 4 last on its ordered sequence.

But.... I think there is a but here... Mac OS does still look for other boot drives none the less.
On a PC, most have an option in the BIOS to set the device types (CDROM, hard drive, USB). and the order of hard drives to look. Meaning that I can have a system on a hard drive that is off line, pop it in, make it the primary boot device and boot from it, and boot quickly.
Sometimes people will disable a chipset or not enable hardware RAID on the motherboard.
Startup Disk control panel sets the boot path in nvram and even if you do have 4 boot drives in Mac Pro, it should still boot in 20-45 seconds.

this happenens in case of DB2 on some machine where the issue about high load on DB2 is caused by standard programming in SAP XI that executes a statement, where it uses the condition 'where 1<0' prio to the original SQL statement configured in the channel configuration,

Status: TO_BE_DELIVERED
Which means that the message was successfully delivered from Integration Server point of view and it states that the messages is initially handed over to the Messaging System.
TO_BE_DELIVERED occurs while the message is put into the Messaging System receive queue.
Solution:
This is done via the Messaging System receive servlet:

Only if this was executed successfully the Messaging System returns HTTP 200 to the Integration Server and the Status TO_BE_DELIVERED moves to DELIVERING

Satellite Pro A10 - Does SP2 or 3 slow down the XP performance?

I have a Satellite Pro A10 PSA15E which over the years had become very slow.
Recently I upgraded it's RAM from 256 to the maximum 1gb to try to speed things up but it did not help.
Next I reformatted the hard disc and reloaded the system using the Toshiba recovery disks. This worked fine and the system performance was excellent. However, with on-line security in mind, I loaded Windows SP2 ( with a view to subsequently go to SP3) and this has taken the system back to where I started - very, very slow, in fact pretty well unusable.
Does anyone know if Toshiba support SP2 and SP3 on this model of laptop?
If so how do you install them without killing performance?

I think SP2 or SP3 is supported on this Toshiba notebook because both Service Packs are contains really important security updates and I think this is not the problem.
If you install SP2 or SP3 you will also get the Security center and better Windows firewall. Maybe you should disable both services because the slow down the system performance (I always disable both services).
Just go to start => run => services.msc and disable both services and set the start up type to disabled.

Does re-installing system slow down the HD?

My MBP came back from repair with a new HD and OS 10.5 already installed. For various reasons I might want to wipe it and re-install the system software. But does this process of re-installing the system leave any 'debris' on the drive which might slow down performance in the long run? If so I may leave it, but it's a question I've always wondered about - when you re-install does the drive go back to being 'like new' again or is there a gradual accumulation of code which just adds more clutter?

I did not understand it to be. The assertion was:
The 85% corruption thing fassumes a relationship of the largest file types to the size of the physical drive.
It does not. It assumes that the directory expansion varies with the total amount of data that needs to be stored. The 85% refers to the smallest amount of contiguous disk capacity needed to permit the file system to lay down new pieces of the Extents Overflow file. That does not have to do with the size of any individual file but with the total amount of data that needs to be accommodated in the file system/directory.
this question seems to asd for just the opposite, a rationale as to why a percentage would be needed, not a set amount of space.
My intention was to suggest there was a relationship (read percentage) between the total amount of data on the drive and the size of the filesystem. On a 100 GB HDD the filesystem will be smaller as the amount of data stored occupies a smaller amount of disk capacity. On a 1 Terabyte HDD 85% of total used capacity requires a corresponding size of directory. As I understand it the size of the directory varies in direct relationship with the amount of data stored on the drive and not to the total capacity of the HDD. The Micromat study (sorry, I have lost the link for that reference) found that the optimal capacity was 85% to avoid directory corruption.
As I noted in earlier posts, the equation may have changed with the advent of larger capacity drives, but I am not aware of documentation to that effect. I should also add that I am not by any means an expert. However, I am not willing to test to see how crowded my HDD has to be before I encounter an unrecoverable directory.
My asking for support for statements made is not by way of debate. I earnestly seek to learn more about this and other subjects from those who have information I do not, myself, have.

Soundbooth CS4, Premiere Pro CS4, & Adobe Dynamic Link

What do I need to do to import Premiere Pro timelines into Soundbooth? The option for "Adobe Dynamic Link" is in the File menu, but the "Import Premiere Pro Sequence..." option is grayed out and unavailable. Soundbooth was purchased and installed separately from Premiere, but both applications are CS4.

Why does my Premiere CC 2014 crash every time I use "Adobe Dynamic Link" and have After Effects CC 2014 open in the background?

I use "Adobe Dynamic Link" mainly for typography and some animation, but not to the point where it would stress out Premiere CC 2014.

It doesn't crash for everyone. A person could be forgiven for saying, in return, "Please sort out your **** system problems".
Trust me when I say many, many problems are caused by the computer system setup not being up to the needs of this cutting-edge graphics software. Photoshop is heavily dependent on the GPU, and GPU drivers are notorious for having bugs (they're primarily written to run games).
However, that being said, recent driver releases from both ATI and nVidia do actually work pretty well with Photoshop CC 2014.
What video card do you have?
What display driver version are you running?
If you're unsure how to tell these things, go into Photoshop, choose Help - System Info, copy the data, and post it here.

As I understand it (and I could well be wrong), if I render a PPro project that has AE projects dynamically linked in (anything from simple lower thirds to color grading), during rendering the AE bits run as a service, which limits the AE bits to a single CPU and effectively stops simultaneous rendering of multiple frames. This is why I can get very high render times (essentially no parallel processing), and why messing with the number of CPUs allowed for simultaneous frame rendering, or the amount of RAM said CPUs can access, has little to no effect on total render time.
Supposedly as some point AE was going to be changed such that it used Media Encoder to do it's rendering (same as PPro does), thus speeding up rendering for any PPro project that has AE parts dynamically linked in.
Has this been done in CS6? If not, any idea when that's scheduled to happen?

The distinction is not so distinct, and this is an industry issue, not really Adobe. After Effects has a render queue, which is used for exporting, but you can also export. Back to the OP - After Effects can be used with Adobe Media Encoder, it's just not the default. You can import any composition into AME from AE and render your encoded export.
As for background rendering....I remember when Pinnacle Liquid was the first to the table with that feature back in 2004 or 2005. It seemed awesome, except that you needed a ton of spare hard drive space and lots of processing to keep the background rendering going...effecitvely your processor was in use 100% of the time. When you weren't scrubbing or playing back, Liquid was rendering previews. Of course, you could use those previews during export but you rarely would have wanted to do so, since it was better quality to reference the original data when compositing the layers and effects to output to a web file, for instance. Then you had to keep cleaning up the preview cache.
I rarely render previews at all, and when I do it's just a small segment at a time, just to get a full look at the final composite. Mercury Playback is usually more than capable of playing back most of my edits the rest of the time.

try this;
open disk utility - verify disk permissions - repair disk permissions if errors are found. might take an hour or less - depending on how much errors needs to be repaired.
restart your macbook and see if that sorts it out for you.
also check your hard drive space. if your hard drive is almost full, that will also contribute to your macbook getting slower....

As of June 2014, none of the Adobe Reader mobile products support the hyperlink action for opening a separate PDF document.
Adobe Reader for iOS
Adobe Reader for Android
Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8
In addition, the Reader mobile products do not open multiple windows/documents simultaneously, which would make the navigation between PDF documents nearly impossible. (Once a hyperlink takes you to a different PDF document, you have no way to go back to the original PDF document.)
The only Adobe Reader product that fulfills your department's requirements is Adobe Reader XI (mostly for Windows/Mac desktop/laptop computers). Acrobat Pro and Standard are paid products.
Because you are in search of a less expensive device for your department, you could get a Windows tablet instead of a Windows desktop/laptop computer. Microsoft Surface Pro (that you've mentioned in your previous reply) is just one example. You can also find other less expensive Windows tablets.
Tablets
However, please keep in mind that there are two different types of Windows tablets running two different operating systems.
(a) A Windows tablet with an Intel-based processor running Windows 8.1 Pro
Example: Surface Pro 3
You can install and run traditional desktop apps (e.g. Adobe Reader XI) and new Windows Store apps ("Modern" or "Metro-style" apps).
(b) A Windows tablet with an ARM-based processor running Windows RT 8.1
Example: Surface 2
You can only install and run Windows Store apps (e.g. Adobe Reader Touch) but not traditional desktop apps like Adobe Reader XI.
In general, type (b) tablets are more affordable than type (a) tablets. However, if you want to run Adobe Reader XI, you do need to check the technical specification of each tablet and make sure the following conditions are met.
Processor: Intel
Operating system: Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 8/8.1 Pro, not RT

Sorry to disagree mende1. In this age of email attachments and social networks, it is actually a good idea to have a good antivirus on your system. {I realize that this is a religious argument and I will say no more}. With that said, the general concensus is that Norton AV is terrible. It is intrusive and uses up a lot of cycles.
There are a lot of better AV clients out there. I use ClamXav which is free and uses the clamav antivirus that is open source.

I can't find the adobe dynamic link to encore in premiere pro...?

New to encore and dynamic link... I'm running Premiere Pro CC and Encore CS6. When I go to send my sequence to Encore (File>Adobe Dynamic Link>..), there is no "Send to Encore" like what I've heard in seen in the tutorials... any ideas?
I've also tried to dynamic link from encore to premiere pro, but it never loads the sequence.

Encore locks up when using the Adobe Dynamic Link to import Bluray video.

When I try to import video into Encore by using either the Adobe Dynamic Link or by opening Encore and importing as a timeline, Encore locks up during the "Prepare Transcode Settings" . I have Adobe Master Suite CS5 which was a download version. I've had this software since May 2011. I have been able to use import video in the past, but there seems to be an issue with Encore now. Has the program been corrupted? If I need to download Encore to repair it, how do I do this?

How much free space is on your hard drive?
How much ram do you have?
Photoshop needs to use your hard drive for scratch space.
If you have more than one hard drive (not partition), you can assign photoshop's scratch disk to another hard drive.

I'm running a tekkit classic (Minecraft) Server on a dedicated server I got from OVH, Im just wondering - Im currently using ClamAV for an antivirus, But I would like windows defender.
Im wondering if installing Desktop Experience on my dedi would increase processor usage or slow down the dedi even slightly.
System Specs:
RAM: 32GB DDR3 ECC 1600MHz
CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1245v2
HDD: 2x2TB SATA (Both used, specified as different drives)
OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
Theres only 1 indev tekkit server currently running on there, Im getting 0-5% processor usage. I may be setting up more modpack servers - but im wondering if installing desktop experience would increase the processor usage or slow the dedi down.
