Does Air applications Require Flash Player?

Well, this question may sound stupid but please help me out with my basic doubt. Does those applications created in Flex (as AIR application) require Flash Player at the client side or just installing AIR at the client side will do?

No, Just AIR runtime is enough. Air application will use the airglobal.swc for compile.

I have downloaded and installed Adobe Flash Player, but it was installed to a "disk image".  I don't know what that is, but I cannot view anything that requires flash player.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help, but that didn't do any good either.  I have been double clicking from the download files, double clicking on the "install adobe flash player", closing the anti virus, closing Safari, watching the install progress and clicking finish.  It indicates that "flash player" is installed, but every time I try to view something requiring flash player, it tells me I must download it.  It shows up in the "system preference"  and from there I can make some changes, but it still won't let me view anything requiring "flash player".   It does not show up in my apps like Adobe Reader does.  It shows up in the "downloaded files" section of "Finder".  I'm getting really perplexed over my inability to get this right.

  • Firefox 33.1 does not load Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.223

As far as I can determine, Firefox 33.1 does not load Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.223 (identified on the Plug-ins list as "Shockwave Flash 15.0.0.223") when I access most of the pages on the MSN website. Whether it will display any specific video is unpredictable but it displays about one out of five.
If I place the mouse cursor on the blank black video display area (for which no controls or buttons are displayed), and click the right mouse button, then either (1) the context menu is the same as for clicking the mouse cursor on an empty part of the page, or (2) the context menu is not displayed at all.
Apparently, Firefox has failed to load the plug-in, but does not display any error message. Neither is there any error message displayed by the plug-in.
If you think I am willing to undertake a trial-and-error odyssey through various "do this and see what happens" recommendations in "Knowledge Base" articles and the like, then think again. I don't have the time to make the effort, and I will use Internet Exporer instead. It ought to work with MSN just fine. :-)
Since I did not develop Firefox, this is not my problem to solve. It's your software, not mine, and I didn't make the mistakes, so you fix it.
    By the way:
Either Firefox Help does not display the version correctly, or your Troubleshooter doesn't obtain the data correctly. Help says version 33.1 and Troubleshooter says 33.0. YES I KNOW THAT FIREFOX 33.1.1 IS AVAILABLE. SO WHAT?
Troubleshooter also identifies the Shockwave Flash plug-in as "15.0 r0" but the native Add-ons feature identifies it as 15.0.0.223 -- which is the version that Adobe uses.
The last line of the Troubleshooter's "educated guesses" just has "* 5.1.30514.0". I have no idea as to what that refers to and I doubt that anyone else would have one either.
Well, maybe those numbers are good enough for "educated guessers" but in my experience computers do not make "educated guesses" even if software developers do.
    Enjoy!

Please refrain from posting scattergun boilerplate suggestions.
Please post specific instructions that will resolve the problem. If you don't know why the problem occurs and how to remedy the problem, then don't bother.
Realize that the problem did not occur with the previous version of Adobe Flash Player, but began after it was updated to 15.0.0.223. So it is is apparently specific to that version, and it may reflect a flaw in Adobe Flash Player. There's no way to actually report it to Adobe. Posting a report in their "user forum" just produces replies like the one that you have posted in reply to my OP, so what is the use?
Evidently you presume that Firefox does not have a bug, that something else doesn't work and you may be right. However, if Firefox does have a bug, then nothing that you have posted will correct it, and experimenting according to your boilerplate will be nothing but a waste of time and effort.
Again, the problem is not that Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.223 does not run, but that it does not run when I attempt to view most of the videos on MSN. It does display videos from YouTube and other websites with an occasional specific exception. If the failure occured on more websites, and with all MSN videos, then maybe your suggestions for investigating it would have more merit.
For what it is worth: the problem occurs in Firefox Safe Mode and without Firefox Safe Mode. Disabling or enabling any extensions or other plug-ins has no effect.
I established that while investigating why Firefox 33.1 started producing crash reports every time that it initially displayed the New Tab page when I visited MSN (Firefox 32 did not do that). I also checked whether the actions that I took to troubleshoot that behavior affected Adobe Flash Player on MSN. They didn't.
Apparently the crash reports occured because Firefox could not find or could not load the "thumbnail" images for website pages that I had previously seen (they are often deleted by ''CCleaner''). The crash reports stopped after I made a couple of changes to the configuration for the ''SandboxIE'' sandbox in which I run Firefox.
Frankly, Firefox "Safe Mode" is something I don't need, because I run Firefox in a ''SandboxIE'' sandbox, which is a much more comprehensive security measure than anything implemented by any specific application. At the moment I don't recall whether Firefox Safe Mode is enabled, although I probaby re-enabled it after disabling it during the crash-report investigation. But it didn't make any difference with regard to Adobe Flash Player in that context, so there's no reason to repeat it.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 applications crashing Flash Player

I am a student taking a Flex course, and every time I run an application, my Flash Player crashes.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Flash Player, updated plugins for FF5, and still it crashes.  Is there anything else I could be missing?
    Thanks

Do you see the crash when you debug launch and you are a breakpoint?
Firefox kills flash player when it does not respond for a certain amount of time. When you are developing, it may be better to turn this feature off:
Type in about:config in the address bar and hit enter.
    Agree that you'll be careful.
Type in dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs. Change the value to -1.
    Restart Firefox.

    Miu Miu Wooden Handle Tote
I am constantly drawn to cream colored leathers. Browns and
whites can be harsh at times, so adding a bit of cream to tone it
down is the perfect option. And whites do not have to stop being
worn after Labor Day, in fact winter whites are perfectly luxe for
the season. But I typically opt for a white that is creamier. And
the soya cream leather on the Miu Miu Wooden Handle Tote offers a
feeling of winter resort. The wooden handle does give the bag a
very resort feel, but would look perfect in a more tropical area
(like South Florida). The wooden handle may not fit on your
shoulder well, and even if it did it may grind into your shoulder a
bit. Of course Miu Miu added in an optional detachable shoulder
strap. I adore this bag, adore the color of the leather, and adore
the wooden accent. Buy through (Buy through

  • After Flash 11 install: Adobe Connect requires Flash Player 10.1 or above.

Adobe Connect will not run on my XP Pro workstation. Flash (11.1.102.63) has been installed several times, with and without AVG. We get the Flash Successful Installation Screen, try to launch Connect again, and always bounce right into the same message:
Adobe Connect requires Flash Player 10.1 or above.
Its like the system is not recognizing the Flash install. How do we get beyond this? Thanks for your help!

    John
I have tried to invite my sister-in-law to join me in a Connect Now meeting.  Every time she tries to respond to the dialogue box that comes up when she clicks on the hyperlink I send her, she gets a message saying that she has to install Flash Player.  We have tried doing this on a number of occasions, but always end up with the same response.
I've noted from your advice above that Internet Explorer and Google Chrome require different versions of Flash Player.  She tells me she has both browsers on her machine.  From the description she has given me, she appears to have downloaded both versions of Flash Player.
Despite the fact that it appears she has now install both versions of Flash Player, however, she is still getting the same request to install Flash Player when she responds to my hyperlink request.
    Please help.
As my sister-in-law is not technically minded, a simplified set of instructions would be appreciated.
With my thanks and kind regards,
    Nicholas.

  • What is the minimum required flash player version for FMP?

subject pretty much says it all.
and, does FMP degrade gracefully with older FP versions?  e.g., does it use StageVideo only if a user has the required flash player version?

Oracle says that from 10g onwards, not need to have any other cluster software since it is providing CRS (cluster ready services) with 10g. However, having HACMP installed would be a good idea. I heard many problem, earliy release of 10g, aboug just using CRS instead of other clustered services.
Well, we are using SHARQ d240 storage, but, didn't required any raw partition, and also not using ASM. Basically, we are in a testing mode.

  • Viewing web-pages wich require flash player

I recently tried to view the mini-usa web-site from my iphone but could not because it requires flash player plug in...tried dowloading it but "safari" would not allow me ...can someone please tell me what to do?

well the internet on the iphone is already pretty amazing and yes one big flaw is the flash player. One thing about apple is that THEY KEEP UPDATES/NEW RELEASES TIGHT TO THEMSELVES AND NO ONE EVER KNOWS ABOUT SUCH UPDATES OR RUMORED RELEASES UNTIL APPLE COMES OUT WITH IT AND HUSTORY SAYS THAT IS THE WAY APPLE HAVE BEEN DOING IT AND THATS THE WAY THEY WILL KEEP DOING IT. So just be patient

  • Why are websites requiring Flash player?

With HTML5, I expected fewer websites to be requiring Flash player. Now more YouTube videos are requiring Flash, as well as post-mainstream media websites like MSNBC. Are they TRYING to turn the earth backwards, or what?

I'm getting ready to launch an HTML-based 'application' service, and I also think HTML5 fluency is probably an important tool in any developer's future. I'm having a little trouble getting my developer skills to work in conjunction with a website, and to do so securely. But I understand that browsers will soon (some sort of time unit) have a secure space for serving applications. ('Secure' in the sense that javascript is a 'secure' space for a web-server to receive user-defined variables).

  • Ever since I upgraded to firefox 5, a site that required flash player doesn't work - it worked with the older version

A site that worked on your old version doesn't work anymore. When I go to the page it says to download a plugin, but then it comes up with "no suitable plugins were found." I believe the site requires flash player. I have reinstalled it and it works with other programs that require it.

I wasn't able to get to any of those sites without having serious hanging issues. I just uninstalled Flash, rebooted, then reinstalled it. Everything seems to be working fine now.

  • Does the iPad support flash player yet?

Does the iPad support flash player yet?

As has been said here many times now, Adobe has ceased development on all versions of their mobile Flash player, and since the chances are vanishingly small that Apple will ever develop their own, iOS devices will probably never natively support Flash content or apps. If Flash capability is criticial to your needs, you'll probably want to choose another device, though even Android and Windows phone and tablet devices are less and less capable of Flash support.
    Regards.

  • How do I view websites that require flash player ?

I am trying to view online catalogues with my iPad and they will not open as they require flash player. Is there a solution?

Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites have their own apps in the App Store.
