Does AIR require a "C" drive in order to install?

No matter what I do I cannot get AIR to install on my Windows7 Professional system. I have read and re-read many post and tried everything suggested.
This is all I get in the log file:
[2013-04-14:16:13:07] Runtime Installer begin with version 3.7.0.1530 on Windows 7 x86
[2013-04-14:16:13:07] Commandline is:
[2013-04-14:16:13:07] No installed runtime detected
I have tried running the cleanup tools but, because I have never had Adobe Air on my system, there is nothing to find thus, nothing to cleanup.
Yes, I am running as administrator
Yes, I tried disabling antivirus software
I remember seeing on a post that someone was told that they had no option to install to a different partion...it had to be C. Is that REALLY the case?
My C drive was going bad so I added another drive, backed up all of my important files and installed my OS on the new drive before removing the old drive. My system drive is now labeled "H".
I can't believe that in this day and time a program is not smart enough to know where the Program Files folder is regardless of drive letter.
My Budgeting Software now requires AIR as well as  my Usage Meter with HughesNet Gen4 to track my monthly data. I NEED AIR TO WORK!
Please Help...

I haven't tried using a drive other than C, so I can't say if this should work.  I personally think running the system on a drive other than C: seems risky, but like you indicate, I was burned way back in the day with apps not performing as I expected when I made that type of change.
As for getting AIR installed, can you try creating a new and temporary user account and see if installing via the new account helps?  Once installed, it should work for all existing accounts.

  • Does using Group Policy Preferences to deploy printers require the print driver to be pre-installed?

I'm trying to prepare our school system for Windows 7 (we currently use XP).  I would like to use the new Group Policy Preferences method of deploying printers.  I pushed out the XP client side extensions through WSUS.  In my test environment, I added the shared printer in group policy preferences.  My XP machine had the printers show up automatically, but my Windows 7 machine did not.  I realized that I had previously connected a printer of the same type to my XP machine before and the drivers were already installed.  To test this theory, I manually connected the shared printers to the Windows 7 machine, deleted them, then logged off and back on.  Now the printers are showing up from group policy.  My question is does using group policy preferences to deploy printers require the print driver to be pre-installed?  If not, then what am I doing wrong?  If so, is there a way to work around this?  Thanks for your help.
EDIT:  To clarify, I am using the share method in GPP.  This is the error message I get in the event log:
The user 'PRINTERNAME' preference item in the 'win7 printer test {946461A1-27F8-406F-A0B3-0A1A05AF34F6}' Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x80070bcb The specified printer driver was not found on the system and needs to be downloaded.' This error was suppressed.

    Open the GPMC.
Open the GPO where the printer connections are deployed, and navigate to Computer Configuration, Policies, Administrative Templates, Control
    Panel, and thenPrinters.
    Note
The Point and Print Restrictions setting can also be found under User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Printers.
This policy is ignored by Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, but is enforced by earlier editions of Windows including Windows XP with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, and Windows Server 2008. We recommend that you change
this policy setting in both locations so that all down-level clients have a consistent experience.
Right-click Point and Print Restrictions, and then click Properties.
    Click Enabled.
    Clear the following check boxes:
Users can only point and print to these servers
Users can only point and print to machines in their forest
In the When installing drivers for a new connection box, select Do not show warning or elevation prompt.
Scroll down, and in the When updating drivers for an existing connection box, select Show warning only.
    Click OK.

  • Does the Macbook Air run full, standalone versions of software or does it require special, streamlined apps?

I'm looking to buy a Macbook. Will the Macbook Air load and run full, unabridged versions of Mac-compatible software, such as what I already own, or does it require only special "apps" versions such as the iPad and iPhone do? I realize that the Macbook Air blurb states you can wirelessly use another Mac's drive to load software onto a MBA or buy an add-on drive to connect it up and load software but my question is the performance capability of the MBA to actually run full versions of ALL OS X Mac-compatible software.

The MacBook Air runs the identical operating system as any other Mac, and is subject to no arbitrary limitations imposed on the latest software, or by the latest software.
The only remaining factor is hardware. All Mac software has it's own individual requirements for the system, that being the speed of the processor, the amount of memory, the type of graphics processor required, etc. Some select software, say intense game apps, will not run very well or at all on the MBA, and it simply the lack of a system's component compatibility of performance. But this is a factor present in all computers, nothing special about the MacBook Air.
So, as long as the hardware is sufficient for the system requirements of the software, you can install and use any full version app designed for OS X Lion.

I just purchased a camera packaged with Adobe photoshop Elements 11. I have a mac book air- which does not have a cd drive. The package did not come with a code or anything that would provide me with another way to install photoshop that came with my camera. Is there any other way i can install this on my camera without using the provided cd or buying the software again?

That doesn't help the user with the serial code though.
There has to be some kind of code somewhere within the package. The disk itself does not contain one. You can look here for help with finding your serial number:

  • How to install Elements 12 on MacBook Air with no DVD drive? [was:URGANT HELP NEEDED!]

I have a MacBook Air, with no CD drive. I just purchased 'Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 & Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Premiere', from the 'Best Buy' store. I asked for help before I purchased the product, to make sure I did not need a CD drive to download 'Photoshop' to my MacBook Air, the lady told me I did not need a CD drive for it to download. I come home to download it, to find that there are no instructions for online downloading or downloading without a CD drive. I have tried calling customer service and doing research on the computer for help and I can not find any answers what so ever. I really need help with this, as I have deleted all of my photos and videos on my MacBook Air to free up enough space for 'Photoshop' to fit on my laptop. Please help AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, thanks!

  • FM/BAPI to update requirements assignment on a PM order

    Hello,
I am working on a project which involves building interfaces between a client's SAP ECC system and a third party scheduling system. The orders are created in SAP, interfaced to the third party, where they assign resources and schedule appointments. Hence we need to build is inbound to SAP, to update the "requirements assignment" tab of PM order operations - transaction IW32.
I have looked at BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN, but this doesn't provide this specific functionality.
Does anyone know if there is any other type of function module which enables this to be created/updated?
The data appears to be stored in table KBED - capacity requirements.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Peter

    Hi Balaji,
After lots of search and trials, I have gave up on the function group CY_BT*.
I eventually used direct update on the database tables of the Requirements Assignment.
Using SQL Trace and Runtime Analysis of the transaction IW31/32, I have been able to imitate the standard SAP process for creation, update and deletion and the effect of every scenario on the database tables:
    KBED     Capacity Requirements Records
KBEZ      Add. data for table KBED (for indiv. capacities/splits)
KBKO     Header Record for Capacity Requirements
Combine that with locking mechanism, you will get your results.
Just build a Z-'BAPI'. The best cost-benefit balance, as far as I am concerned.
    Good luck,
    Kamal.

  • Microsoft Office 2008 apple os-x install...does it require a restart?

Microsoft Office 2008 apple os-x install...does it require a restart?
wondered if i needed to restart my mac to complete installation? seems whenever i install a program that requires a restart to compltet installation my system crashes....
so i can for now only install programs that do not require a restart like iwork, or limewire.dmg....
    any experience appreciated...thanks

Not the area to ask but...
    A. backup
    B. repair your drive from another hard drive also running latest OS X.
Sounds like your disk file system and directory are problem (the hard drive itself could be failing or have failed blocks too).

  • Does ENV3 require data now or not?

In another post an employee stated no data anymore for the ENV3 but when you browse phones it clearly states next to it $9.99 data plan or higher so which is it?  Website not update maybe to reflect this?  Thinking of ordering 2 and want to be sure before I do.    Mary

I'll tell you what I found out yesterday for my Env touch. I believe that is in the same category as your phone.
I called the *611 line and was greeted by an Representative. She kept insisting that I needed a data plan for my phone if I deactivate and reactivated my phone. She also told me that SOMETIMES the system lets you get rid of the data plan and sometimes it doesn't. .....I don't know about you, but I find this extremely hard to believe. A computer won't just RANDOMLY let you do something like this so I feel like they are hiding something. The lady also mentioned something about a data block potentially working. After awhile, I eventually hung up because I was obviously getting no where on the phone.....Mind you, I had my Env Touch way before a data plan was 'required' for it. I also told the Representative that.
SOOOOOO then I did something that I normally don't do. I went to a physical verizon store and talked to a Manager. Here is what the Manager told me. "The Env Touch does NOT require a data plan anymore."(Yes, that was WORD FOR WORD) All you have to do is get a data block when you activate it. (paraphrased)
It seems that Verizon is trying to coerce people into thinking that they need a data plan for these phones when you really don't.
My advice: Go to a physical verizon store and ask. If they insist no, mention the data block. If you're still not getting anywhere, go to a different verizon store and try the same thing.

  • Umi 7774 required for ni drives?

i am designing a motion control system using 3 stepper motors (ni Nema 23) and correspondingly 3 ni P70360 drives. Is a umi 7774 required to connect these to the 4 axes pci motion controller card?  (i'm confused as its description on the ni site says that it is required for 3rd party drives BUT in the discussions i've read a lot of people have used umi 7774 with ni drives )
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello aks,
Yes, you will need to purchase and use our Universal Motion Interface (UMI) 7774 board in order to connect the three drives/motors to the motion controller card.
It may have been confusing because we do explicitly say that it is required for 3rd party drives, but not necessarily required for our drives. Having said that, the vast majority of customers use the UMI board because it eliminates the need for custom cables, and makes it far easier to connect to more than one axis.
