Does AirDrop remove files from the source computer?

I want to copy files from my iMac to my new MacBook Air. If I use Airdrop will it just copy the files or remove them from my iMac?

Dropbox has a copy of the file on each computer sharing the same Dropbox account, plus a copy on the DropBox server.
There are 3rd party utilities besides DropBox that can do similar things, but DropBox does make it simple and painless.

I don't think so, I think it stores them on the cloud. I just did a test on my own iPad and although I deleted the source image in the Photos app the image remains in the Photo Stream

That error message is misleading. Your problem is excessive swapping of data between physical memory and virtual memory.
That can happen for two reasons:
You have a long-running process with a memory leak (i.e., a bug), or
You don't have enough memory installed for your usage pattern.
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
In the Activity Monitor application, select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The process named "Safari Web Content" renders web pages for Safari and other applications. It uses a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider it a prime suspect.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details.

I bought a macbook pro on november 2011 wich had Lion OS installed on it. Playback plug-in in Mainstage 2.1.3 does not play files from the beginning (it leaves out like 50 mSecs or so). Is there a way to revert to Snow Leopard OS?

As the last post suggests, call Apple and order a replacement original disc for about $17. They will ask you the model and serial numbers.
Your retail version of Snow Leopard OS 10.6.3 will not work on that Mac as it requires a minimum of OS X 10.6.7 to boot and operate.
Another alternative is to again borrow another Mac to install your retail Snow Leopard into an external HD or partition, upgrade it to 10.6.8 and then clone it back to a partition on your MBP.

I want to Pick the Single file from The source Directory

My Scenario is File to RFC .. I'm getting the files in the source Directory.. File names are SENDER_(TIMESTAP).XML .. but the problem is... When ever Files are available in the Source Directory Immediately XI was picking all the files at a time.. But I want to to Pick a single file at a time..
for Making this what we have to do.. After Processing the first file then only my Sender adapter should pick the next file... (even though Multiple files are available in my Source Directory)

the other option was use Adapter specific attributes in the Sender Communication channel..
or
while droping the files ask them to drop using time stamp in another directory and an external validation is required .. and after validation push single file to Source directory using batch file..
i.e use a batch file using run time operating system or make that batch file to run at OS level ..
where the batch files needs to validate the time interval of the file and needs to push a single file to the source directory.. where from there we can directly pick a single file and process..

MBridge does not recognize files from the Nikon D 5000

I have just bought a d 5000, but neither Bridge or Photoshop will recognize the File type, although they both had no problem with NEF from my d80

NEF files from different models of Nikon have different files formats.
To open the files for your new Nikon D5000 camera you need to have Camera Raw 5.4 beta hosted by Photoshop 11.0.1 (CS4).
If you have CS4, download and run the ACR 5.4 Release Candidate installer and install it.

If you do not have CS4, you cannot open the files from the new camera directly and you never will be able to, as there will be no further updates to older versions. You will need to download the latest version of the DNG Converter 5.4 and convert your NEF files to raw DNG files first that you can then open in ACR 2.4 hosted by CS; ACR 3.7 hosted by CS2; or ACR 4.6 hosted by CS3.
Note that Photoshop Elements is not directly supported by ACR 5.4 Release Candidate at this time, so you will have to go the DNG Converter 5.4 RC route if you only have Elements.

Removing files from the iTunes list of Pages documents

I frequently transfer document files to my iPad for Pages from iTunes, and the file list is becoming large and cumbersome. Is there any way to delete documents from the Pages file share list in iTunes? Scrolling to bring a new document into Pages is becoming ridiculous. I'd love to remove files I'm no longer interested in sharing from that list.

My new computer does not have iWeb and I can't open the files from the old computer. What can I do???

I'm really desperate. I used to publish to a blog directly from iWeb, then I discontinued it. When I made the switch to iCloud, I wasn't worried because I knew my files would always be there. However, once I got a new computer, I transferred all the old files to an external hard drive and I thought everything would work just fine. Well, it didn't Neither can I open iWeb nor can I find my files.
Can anyone help me please?

New Macs have not shipped with iWeb for over 2 years and Apple has not sold or supported iWeb for at least 2 years now - Apple stopped selling it and dropped support for it when MobileMe was ditched in favour of iCloud which does not offer hosting.
If you want iWeb, then you will need to have a look at your old installation CD's for your old Mac and see if iWeb is on these and you can then install it from there or if you don't have these CD's any longer, then you'll have no option but to purchase a copy of either iLife 09 or iLife 11 from Amazon - these boxed sets both contain iWeb 09, which is the latest version of iWeb.
Other than this and as you have not done your blog for sometime, perhaps you should consider re-creating it from scratch with a software that is actively supported and updated - that is NOT iWeb any longer.
You could try using WordPress, either .com or .org - .org is good if you already have hosting and you can install WordPress directly onto your server. If you want something free, then you could use WordPress.com which is then published on the WordPress servers.
You could also take a look at EverWeb from Rage Software, which is very new and is very like iWeb with all the extras, such as drop down menus etc. Take a look at http://www.everwebapp.com.
As for your files, it sounds that when you say files, these might be the published files for your site, if you went into iWeb and published them to a local folder? This is not a backup and even if you could find these files, then iWeb will not be able to open them because it has no import facility, so cannot open an already published site - html and css files.
What you need is your domain.sites files which can be found under your User Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.
I would cut your losses and if you don't have iWeb, then don't bother paying for software that is now outdated and unsupported - move onto to something new and re-create everything in either WordPress or EverWeb.

My Scenario is File to Proxy. Legacy team is generating Bunch of files in a same directory.But i want to pick single file for each poll interval. after process teh firts file only Sender Adapter should pick and process the next file .
At prsent , My scenario is picking all the files in a single shot and all the files are processing parellelly. . But all the files are related to one Process Order So, out of bunch of files some few of files are processing successfullu. remaining all teh files are getting " Proces Order is locked by another User" Error message . This was happeing only for the parellel processing. And from technical point of view , In sender Communication Channel i have used Quality of Service is Exactly Once in Order and i have mentioned the Queue name also. .
Evel legacy team is generating Bulk of files i want to pick a single file only, suppose if theer is no chnace then at least i want to process single file at a time after finishing the one file processing , then only i want to go for the next file
For this, is teher any paremeters need to be set , please suggest me,.

Are you using the Additional Source Files options?
What you can do :
1) Select Processing Tab > Processing Sequence> By Date
2) You can introduce a delay between two processing by using a Thread.sleep(msec) statement in some UDF in your mapping...this will ensure some delay between two processing: Re: Delay in MM possible ?
3) You can select the Connect Mode option as Per File Transfer.....keep it as the last option....

What is the best way to remove files from the hard drive?

I'm donating one of my computers, and there are certain sensitive files (bank records, etc.) I need to remove. I want them completely removed to the point it's like they never existed, so any hard drive recovery tools can never find them.

Then you will have to get a replacement set from Apple.
Since the DVD are your license to OS X they really should be included with the Mac when you sell it.

The easiest method is to create a new catalog.
Click the top menu: File à Catalog
Then click the New button
Choose a new name e.g. MyCatalog2
Leave free music checked and click OK.
Your new catalog will open blank and you can start over and import as you wish.
