Does alarm clock drain down our iphones' batteries?

Well, I went to App store and looked for "alarm clock free for iphone." The results appeared are vary. But the question is I don't know if these apps would drain down our iphones' batteries due to the fact that we must run the app through the night in order to show the digital clock and let it wake you up in the morning. Please help me answer this question. Appreciate it!

I have used the phone ( and my BlackBerry in the past ) as a clock, with alarm when and if needed in this fashion for years. ( pretty much all my phones since Lithium ion batteries became the norm, in lieu of NiCad or NiMh ) .... Never had a problem and the original factory battery usually outlived the phone. Battery does get exercised with use in the day, and charge cycles ( the criterion specified for battery life) are significantly reduced.  I suspect one of the 'requirements' to run the battery wayyyyyy down has something to do with re calibrating  the battery gauge , but I personally have never had battery life issues with any phone ( maybe just pure luck, but ..... ). Also, here in the Caribbean, where power black outs aren't uncommon,  its nice to know your trusty cell is charged ....  When the power goes out, it may be 20 min or 4 hrs..... So if/when that happens , I turn off Bluetooth and wifi right away.  With modem & router unpowered, thus no wifi, it will help conserve battery by preventing phone from searching for a signal which ain't there :-)

  • Does the alarm clock drain the iPhone 4 battery?

My iPhone 4 battery drains overnight and I was wondering if the alarm clock has something to do with it. If this is not the case, is there a way to not have the battery drain overnight?
Please let me know of anything you know to conserve battery life as much as possible.
    _

Leaving it overnight without charging will use small amount of battery. Reason is that it is still connected to a 3G network which draws some power to maintain a good reception. Anything not in sleep mode will use some battery.
To conserve battery life as much, just keep it in the charger overnight. It will not harm the battery as when the phone is fully charged, the charging stops.
I normally keep my phone in my charger when I'm home, but when I go out somewhere I unplug it.

  • Alarm clock draining battery

It appears that after I use the alarm clock (as countdown timer), the alarm clock continues to run even after the alarm is finished. I can see it on the usage timer: even when I know I only used the phone for a few minutes, it may give me 4-5 hours usage, and the battery suddenly drains quickly; it appears the alarm clock prevents the phone from going to sleep. It happens when I stop the alarm using the off-button on the top of the phone. If I go in and exit alarm clock, it stops correctly.
Anybody else experienced this? If you have a quick battery drain, it *could be* alarm clock, weird as it may sound. I was very puzzled with why my battery suddenly drained quickly, until I narrowed it down to alarm clock.

    Yeah, it's pretty annoying.

  • Alarm Clock that automatically turns iPhone on

I just switched from the blackberry over to the iPhone, and while I absolutely love it, one thing that the bberry does have that the iPhone does not was an alarm clock that allowed you to turn off your phone overnight and charge, with the alarm clock automatically turning the phone back on at whatever time the alarm was set for.
I've done a little bit of research, but ive yet to find a solution, be it an app or a simple setting on the phone itself. Does anyone have any helpful info or solutions?

No, there is no way to do that. There is no setting for an alarm -> phone on function, and no 3rd party apps are allowed access to core functions such as that. No apps can run with the phone off. You do realize that the BB isn't truly "off" if there is an alarm app running...
If it's a matter of the phone not ringing, you can manually set the ring/silent switch to silent (with vibrate off set in Settings). The alarm will still sound, but you'll have to remember to move the switch back to ring.

  • How can I change the alarm clock sound on my iPhone

I can't figure out how to change the alarm sound on the Alarm Clock in my iPhone?  Anybody got an idea for me?

What's wrong with you? Oh, now that you realized you made a mistake and I didn't say "Alarming"? The app tited "Alarmed" is the first thing that pops up if you search the App Store using the search term "Alarmed". It is also the name of the app as it appears on the screen of my phone.  Oh, and the developer refers to it as "Alarmed" on his website. It may not have occured to you but, it is possible for more than one app to have the same name. Most of the people here are smart enough to figure out which one is the alarm clock by reading the description. But, we've already covered the reading comprehension thing,

  • Does iOS 7 Slow Down an iPhone 4?

Looking for feedback on how well iOS 7 performs on an iPhone 4 before I upgrade.

Mine seems to be ok. You don't get some of the features though that an iPhone 5 would get. Control centre isn't transparent, it's a whit/grey panel. I hear there's supposed to be some parallax effect too but the 4 doesn't get that either. Also no live camera filters. Performance-wise its not noticably laggy so I'm happy with it so far.

  • Alarm Clock apps?!?!?!?!?!?

This is quite ridiculous. The clock app that comes with the iPhone has absolutely NO customization options whatsoever when it comes to alarms, and its just flat out lame. (Apple really outdone themselves to keep everything absolutely simple, they failed, as in functionality, on this criteria this time)
I went on to search for alarm clock apps on the app store and found this free version of Alarm Clock Pro and tried it out, I liked it a bit, it offered a bit of customization than the built in clock app the iPhone comes with. So I went on ahead and bought the Pro version for .99 because the ads on the free version were annoying.
But wait, you have to leave the alarm clock app opened throughout the whole night for it to work to wake you up in the morning? HUH?? WHATS GOING ON?? I always wake up to find that half of the battery from my iPhone is drained because of the alarm app!!!! Ridiculous! I previously owned an android phone and was able to quickly find a free alarm clock app on the market that offered even more customization and all for free, and you dont need to have the app opened for it to work!!
Someone please tell me there is something else for the iPhone that can be like that, while I already wasted .99 cents on the suppose BEST alarm clock app for the iPhone, I'm even willing to pay for a new alarm app that offers the same exact thing the android has to offer.

Unfortunately no alarm clock app will wake you up to a mp3 from your library when it's not open.
This is something Apple has not allowed. We tried to come up with a solution ourselves with our alarm app but as other developers realized it cant be done . We are still working on a solution though; not giving up!
Our app if interested is alarm app that wakes you up and speaks short weather reports to you http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sleep-fm/id388631053?mt=8#

  • Native Alarm Clock interrupted by push notifications

I have an iPhone 3 GS with the latest ( as of 3/1/2011 ) IOS installed. The Clock application has 3 alarms set to go of each Weekday, 15 minutes apart , using the default alarm sound. This is designed to make sure I get out of bed for work in the morning, even if snooze or "ok" the first alarm.
    Environment:
My iPhone is plugged into the charger ( can't have it not wake me up due to dead batt)
Home Screen is in the foreground ( no apps open )
Screen is locked ( but not passcoded )
Alarms are set, the first one has snooze enabled, the 2nd and 3rd do not.
For the last 2 days, the 1st alarm goes off, I swipe to unlock the screen, the popup message disappears, and the alarm sound stops. Note that I am not given the option to snooze or acknowledge the alarm, as soon as I unlock the phone, the alarm turns off.
The next 2 alarms do not sound. If I fall back asleep ( like I usually do ), I wake up by myself, am late for work, and generally have a bad day.
Has anyone else seen this issue? I've tried a multitude of alarm clock programs, but I always come back to the native one since it's the most reliable. I literally own 3 alarm clocks but prefer the iPhone for that purpose.

I verified the issue. When my TextFree application notifies me ( popup message ) that I've received a new text, and then alarm goes off before I unlock the phone screen to view it, the alarm will not sound.
I turned off notications for TextFree last night, and this morning( day 3 of 3 of testing ) the alarms that I set up worked perfectly. This issue might be true for any program that can do popup notifications, but my texting program is the only one that gets a lot of traffic.
    Solved.

  • HT4972 since update to IOS 5.1.1  -  problem with iluv IMM173 DUAL DOCK ALARM CLOCK DOCKING STATION. - CRASHES WHENEVER UPDATED IPHONE 4S CONNECTED

Hi, since most recent update (IOS 5.1.1) to my iphone 4s, I am experiencing problems(ONLY SINCE MOST RECENT IOS 5.1.1.UPDATE) with my 'iluv' IMM173 DUAL DOCK ALARM CLOCK DOCKING STATION.
Every time I connect my iphone it causes the docking station to crash/freeze and become totally non-responsive. However, if I remove my iphone, then connect my wife's
iphone 4 (IOS 5.0.10) The docking station then syncs time and date as normal with the iphone, and reverts back to function normally.
Has anyone else experienced the problem please, and if so, is there a remedy ?

    1.  I cannot open my camera from the home screen.  The icon is there but when you click on it it shakes and starts to open up but than slides down back to the home screen.  I have tried closing the camera app resetting my phone but nothing seems to fix it.   I can still open up the camera regularly by unlocking the phone first and than going to the camera app.  But the camera button on the home screen just doesn't work for me anymore.  I know with 5.1 they made it where it wont disappearing from the home screen so my guess is the issue must be related to that somehow.
From the locked screen, swipe the camera icon upwards to open the camera app.  This is a new feature in 5.1.

  • Iphone alarm clock makes no sound

The day after daylight savings my iphone alarm clock stopped making any noise. Its very stressful and im sure its not on silent, do not disturb. The ringer and volume are all turned up it just doesnt even vibrate. Its not that it doesnt say there is an alarm, the screen will turn on and say an alarm is present but it just wont make any noise or vibration ): . This happened right after daylight savings and ive had enough is anyone else having this issue. I really dont want to restore it just is so much work. I mean i will if i have to but has anyone come up with an easy solution?

Have you tried resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to Unlock screen redisplays, go into your Alarm, edit it, and see if the sound is playing correctly when you select the alarm sound.
You can also try editing it to a different alarm sound to see if that is working.
    Cheers,

  • IPhone alarm clock via speakers

    Hey,
I wanted to ask if the sound of my iPhone alarm clock is transmitted to speakers while it's connected with the Apple Universal Dock. I tried it with a 3.5mm wire but no sound was transmitted.
Does anybody have some experience with the iPhone alarm clock and speakers?
    Thank you very much

  • Music alarm clock battery draining

I like to be wake up in the morning by music and in windows8 I can choose music for alarm but sound volume cannot be regulated(too loud for me). So I installed aplication music alarm where sound volume for alarm can be regulated but it drain my battery for around 25% during night in flight mode. If I use windows alarm it doesn't drain battery but it is too loud. Does anybody knows better ap or anything else what I can do.

I played with this a bit tonight after discovering that my son's Touch apparently didn't wake with his iHome iH8.
I think that turning off the automatic screen lock on the Touch will prevent it from locking up, and allow the alarm clock to wake up the Touch to play music. I've run a couple quick tests and they seem to corroborate that. I'll let you know how it goes in the morning...
So, you've got a choice: hassle of no music via your iHome, or hassle of disabling the screen lock.
