  • USA Based SAP Implementation Projects

    Hi,
I need the details of 5 SAP implementation projects based in USA. I need the details of the following :-
    1) Client name (Implemented for)
    2) SAP consultancy name (Implemented by)

    Hi:
Normally, Nobody will give such kind of information.
Projects that are implemented by the comapny are confidentail. When an employee joins a organization, the offer letter clearly states that the employee should not disclose organization details, which will help the competitor company to gain an unfair advantage.
At the time of induction, The Hr clearly specifies not to disclose the project details to even close friends.
My suggest use google and search for infomation.contact your friend circle who can help you out.
Please let me know if you need more information.
    Assign points if useful.

  • Aperture Does Not Import Videos using IMPORT FOLDER AS PROJECTS

SOLVED - Aperture 3.2.1 does not import videos using "Import Folder as Project"
After 2 days of trying to figure this out (actually around 2 hours total) I've finally managed to import all my photos & videos last year. 200 Gigs 54,000 files. First few tries resulted with referenced photos only, no videos. I had no luck with Google, even tried moving a couple of .plist as mentioned from this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/11188017?messageID=11188017#11188017 - this worked for some but not for me. Some issues were solved by NOT selecting "Raw Only", this will cause Aperture to skip your videos.
Thank you to these people who took time to share. In return I am posting my micro contribution to the Aperture Community. FILE > SWITCH TO LIBRARY > then create a new library. You should be able to import your photos with videos in folders.
I hope this gets into Google soon. :-)

, I see only the file, where these photos are, not the photo names or thumbs inside the file (Aperture import path).
You mean in the Aperture Import panel the folder, where the jpegs should be, is empty?
Then you may have excluded jpegs from import in your "Import Settings".
Check the above settings in the "Import Settings" options in the "Import Window". I.e-make sure the Raw+Jpeg Pairs option is set to "Both", even if you do not import raws.
After reassembled all the programs to a new hard drive in Mac Pro
Is this new Harddrive your system volume? And are the jpegs you wat to import located on this drive? Or are the on another external volume? If yes, how is this volume formatted?
Have you checked the permissions and ownership of the jpegs?

  • Role of a Security Consultant in an SAP implementation Project

    Hi All,
What is the role of a Security Consultant in an SAP implementation Project and the stages in which he is involved?

    Hello Mohammed,
The role of a Security consultant in any SAP product implementation (not just GRC) is wide enough and it's hard for anyone to sum up on a single forum post. Still I can give you some pointers.
Security consultants come from different backgrounds, some from networking, database administration, infrastructure and even development like me. They contribute enormously to any product implementation from scratch (landscape design) to go-live (and continuous maintenance) so they are active on every phase of the implementation.
Following are some of the activities they may perform (or participate)
-System Landscape Design (work closely with BASIS and DBAs)
-Check Infrastructure feasibility from security perspective (For Portals exposed to internet or extranet work closely with network providers for firewall security, VPS etc.)
-Propose security guidelines, access policies, disaster recovery plan, business continuity roadmap (work closely with information security consultants and internal auditors or risk management teams)
    - Implement SAP solution specific Security measures (involves almost every SAP solution) for example: SAP R/3 security, GRC, BW/BI, HR, FI, Portal security etc.
    - participate in application integration for example: LDAP, IDM, SAP UME, shared directories etc (User master records security is on high priority).
    -   Check for any possible backdoor access vulnerabilities (ex: open RFCs, function modules like ping_rfc), and it involves almost all SAP solutions and there are special procedures to analyze such vulnerabilities.
there are many such activities that a security consultant perform on day to day basis. Please do not interprete the above mentioned activities (entirely) as a criteria for any security consultant profile. There are many many possibilities for a security consultants to work from pen testing to SoD violation remediation. That's why I said it's not easy to sum up security.
Always remember, Security and GRC are two sides of a coin they work together. however GRC is more of a combination of policy, regulation, events and involves management participation whereas security is a purely technical practice.

  • Planning scenarios being used for SAP implementation at Foundry?

    Hi,
Please share information on SAP Implementation at Foundry. Which scenario is most suitable? Foundry consists of various depts like Sand division, Core Shop, Melting Shop, Moulding Line, Fettling operation etc. How we can make use of SAP to control overall rejection at Foundry. What is the configuration etc..??

    Hi,
u can use discreate manufacturing scenoria for core manufaturing.
    My suggestion is as follows,
1.define the finished core as core assembly.
    2. since demand of core is decided from the demand of mold, u can define core assembly as bom item of Mold(under Mold BOM header).
3.by doing this, during the MRP, systems gives procurements proposals for core assembly if there is no stock avalibale.
4.so we ccan create seperate production order, and we can confirm yield and rejection qty.
5.after production u can enter the rejection qty while conforing production order.
letme know  if u have any futher doubt..
    regards

  • Preparation beforehand SAP implementation

Hello Gurus, I'm an OCP in developer track. I look after the customized software of one of the production unit of a big company. Our company runs SAP in other production units and corporate. In a recent move, management decided to bring this unit under SAP and implementation will start by a month. It is also decided that I will get functional role in the project. Now how can I be prepared myself earlier than the implementation starts. Please looking for your expert advice...

    Dear Mr. Md. Iqbal,
In my view, you may do some of the tasks mentioned under as per your role in the project:
    1) Start building team consisting of IT and functional persons. Functional persons must be champion in their area. these team members should be full time dedicated to the project-take commitment from higher management on this.
    2) Inform the functional team to start preparing their processes with flow charts.
    3) Get demo of SAP running at other production unit so that your functional team members can start thinking of mapping their processes in SAP.
    4) Start learning ABAP if you are going to be ABAPer OR start understanding business processes slowly and gradually. Material management (purchase, warehouse) would be most important part to start with. You may get into other processes as per your area of interest and background.
Most IMP : find out project owner and project manager at your location for this project.
Documentation may seem boring but it will help in longer run so if possible, try to document each and every task, meeting, requirement, commitments from implementation partner, etc. Signing on the document is equally important.
If you are going to be project manager or similar to that, ERP Demystified by Alex, SAP Project Management by Joy Ghosh and many other books may help you further.
God bless you and your company grand success  in the SAP implementation project.

  • Steps and documentation help in SAP implementation

    Hi Experts,
I need some documents and documentation help.i have never worked in SAP implementation projects.
So,any body knows the steps and documentation when implementing SAP.
please, tell me details and example documents with steps.and tell me the difference between support and implementation. What we will do extrain implementation.
As a ABAP programmer what can i fill in se38 documentation.
    Please tell me.
It'll be very helpful to me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Nandha

Any SAP R/3 implementation is a big effort which is done by a team of experts from different backgrounds, not by an individual. So if you are going to be on a project as technical person, in all probability you will join the team as a member of the technical team during the implementation phase. By this time, the blueprint and design phases would have been almost complete and some standards and procedures with regards to documentation, coding, transports and migration accross systems will have been established.
A team lead will brief you all the requirements of the project as far as documentation standards are concerned and migration of the objects, testing procedures etc. You don't have to worry about that. This will be specific to the project, so you cannot generalize it and apply it to every project.
Now the difference between a new implementation and support is that the first one is new one which goes through the phases of blueprinting, design, implementation, testing and go-live. The support phase comes after go-live. You will just be supporting the production system, in that you will be fixing any bugs in the existing programs or change some existing programs to add some more logic or remove some logic, or write new reports or programs as per the users' request.

  • Study business process requirements in sd implementation project?

how to study business process requirements in sd implementation project?

    Hi chandu,
I will suggest you first go through the document given below
SAP Implementation is the whole of processes that defines a complete method to implement SAP software in an organization. The SAP implementation method described in this entry is a generic method and not a specific implementation method as such. It is based on best practices and case studies from various literature sources and presents a collection of processes and products that make up a complete implementation method to allow any organization to plan and execute the implementation of SAP (ERP) software.
    Concept Definition
CHANGE MANAGEMENT ***Activities involved in (1) defining and installing new values, attitudes, norms, and behaviors within an organization that support new ways of doing work and overcome resistance to change; (2) building consensus among customers and stakeholders on specific changes designed to better meet their needs; and (3) planning, testing, and implementing all aspects of the transition from one organizational structure or business process to another. (www.gao.gov)
CHANGE MANAGEMENT DOCUMENTATION All documentation that is required and being delivered whilst performing change management, e.g. the functional test cases and all the other documents a new end-user of SAP requires and the various tools and approaches used to manage change by the TSO. (Anderson, 2003)
COST OF OWNERSHIP ANALYSIS Determination of where and when the costs are inquired within the context of the SAP solution stack and ongoing operations. The analysis addresses all internal and external costs, both one-time as well as recurring (Anderson, 2003)
CUTOVER The process of transitioning from one system to a new one (Anderson, 2003)
CUTOVER PLAN All documentation related to planning, preparing and executing cutover, describing how to lock down the system from a technical change management perspective, preparing the TSO for its new role and rolling out the SAP graphical user interface to all future end users. (Anderson, 2003)
DATA CENTER A data center is a facility used for housing a large amount of electronic equipment, typically computers and communications equipment. (www.wikipedia.org)
DATA CENTER REQUIREMENT A requirement for the SAP data center, i.e. a physical requirement like power requirements, a rack requirement, a network infrastructure requirement or a requirement to the network server. (Anderson, 2003)
DISASTER RECOVERY (DR) REQUIREMENT Requirement that focuses on downtime that lasts many hours to days or even weeks (Anderson, 2003)
FUNCTIONAL TEST CASE A set of conditions or variables under which a tester will determine if a certain business process works (www.wikipedia.org)
HIGH AVAILABILITY (HA) REQUIREMENT Requirements that describes the amount of time that the system needs to be available to satisfy the needs of the users. (Anderson, 2003)
INSTALLATION DOCUMENTATION All documentation related to the installation of an end-to-end SAP solution (Anderson, 2003)
OPERATIONS MANUAL The collection of current state system documentation, day-to-day and other regularly scheduled operations tasks, various installation and operations checklists and how-to process documents. (Anderson, 2003)
SAP SAP AG is the name of the biggest European software company. The head office is in Walldorf, Germany. SAP was founded in 1972 as Systemanalyse und Programmentwicklung ("Systems Analysis and Product") by five former IBM employees in Mannheim, Germany. (www.wikipedia.org)
SAP IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT PLAN A comprehensive project plan that contains all products that are delivered whilst performing an SAP implementation project (Anderson, 2003)
SOLUTION STACK Set of software subsystems or components needed to deliver a fully functional solution, e.g. a product or service. (www.wikipedia.org)
SOLUTION STACK PARTNERS LIST A list of all vendors that deliver the products that make up the SAP solution stack (Anderson, 2003)
SOLUTION VISION A vision of the future-state of the SAP solution (Anderson, 2003)
STRESS TEST PLAN A test plan that is focused at determining the stability of a given system or entity. It involves testing beyond normal operational capacity, often to a breaking point, in order to observe the results. (www.wikipedia.org)
TEST PLAN A detail of how the test will proceed, who will do the testing, what will be tested, in how much time the test will take place, and to what quality level the test will be performed. (IEEE 829)
TRAINING The acquisition of knowledge, skills, and attitudes as a result of the teaching of vocational or practical skills and knowledge that relates to specific useful skills (www.wikipedia.org)
TRAINING PLAN Consisting of training units, a training plan is the result of hierarchical decompositions of a training goal, tailored according to the learning preferences and prior knowledge of the trainee. A plan is the means by which the trainee satisfies the goal. (www.ece.eps.hw.ac.uk/)
TSO Technical Support Organization. The people that are committed to implementation and management of SAP. (Anderson, 2003)
TSO CHART A chart that depicts the structure of the TSO. (Anderson, 2003)
    Activity Sub-Activity Description
Project preparation Craft solution vision Refine and communicate a SOLUTION VISION of the future-state of the SAP solution, to sketch a design that meets both business and financial requirements. The focus should be on the companyu2019s core business and how the SAP solution will better enable that core business to be successful.
Design and initially staff the SAP TSO Design and staff the key positions of the SAP Technical Support Organization (TSO), the organization that is charged with addressing, designing, implementing and supporting the SAP solution.
Sizing and blueprinting Perform cost of ownership analysis Perform a COST OF OWNERSHIP ANALYSIS to determine how to get the best business solution for the least money i.e. to determine where and when the costs are incurred within the context of the SAP solution stack.
Identify high availability and disaster recovery requirements Determine all HIGH AVAILABILITY and DISASTER RECOVERY REQUIREMENTS, to plan what to do with later downtime of the SAP system
Engage SAP solution stack vendors Select the best SAP hardware and software technology partners for all layers and components of the SAP SOLUTION STACK, based on a side-by-side sizing comparison
Staff TSO Staff the bulk of the TSO, i.e. fill the positions that directly support the near-term objectives of the implementation, which are to develop and begin installation/implementation of the SAP data center.
Execute training Train the various members of the SAP TSO, like data center specialists, high availability specialist and network specialists and train the end-users to give all the required SAP knowledge and skills
Setup SAP DATA CENTER Build a new SAP DATA CENTER facility or transform the current data center into a foundation capable of supporting the SAP SOLUTION STACK
Perform installations Install the (My)SAP components and technological foundations like a web application server or enterprise portal.
Round out support for SAP Identify and staff the remaining TSO roles, e.g. roles that relate to help desk work and other such support providing work.
SAP functional development Address Change Management Develop a planned approach to the changes in the organization. The objective is to maximize the collective efforts of all people involved in the change and minimize the risk of failure of implementing the changes related to the SAP implementation.
Address SAP systems and operations management Create a foundation for the SAP systems management and SAP computer operations, by creating a SAP OPERATIONS MANUAL and by evaluating SAP management applications.
Perform functional, integration and regression tests Test the SAP business processes, by executing functional tests to ensure that business processes work, integration tests to ensure that the organizationu2019s business processes work together with other business processes and regression tests to prove that a specific set of data and processes yield consistent and repeatable results.
Final Preparation Perform systems and stress tests Plan, script, execute and monitor SAP STRESS TESTS, to see if the expectations of the end users, defined in service level agreements, will be met.
Prepare for cutover Plan, prepare and execute the CUTOVER, by creating a CUTOVER PLAN that describes all cutover tasks that have to be performed before the actual go-live
Go Live Turn on the SAP system for the end-users
    Hope this will help.
    Reward Point if helpful.
    Thanks,
    Raja

  • ChaRM on implementation Projects

    Hello
I have a conceptual question regarding the use of ChaRM on Implementation projects.
We are using ChaRM and have ensured that CTS is driven from Solution Manager i.e transport requests can only be created from corrections (SDMI). To date all SDMI's have been created as follow on documents to Change Transactions (SDCR). Going forward we would like to differentiate genuine changes (Changes to scope after blueprint sign off)  from implementation activities driven from blueprinted requirements.
Whilst we see benefit from approval workflows for genuine changes, it is quite a chore to create SDCR's for all regular implementation work which is implicitly approved by signed off blueprint.
It is also difficult for us to then differentiate Changes from Implementation SDCR's.
Can anyone see a problem with all implementation tasks being generated directly as SDMI's with no preceding SDCR whilst leaving genuine changes as SDCR generated corrections?
The only one I can think of so far is that there is workflow that sets the status on an SDCR when the SDMI has been through it's lifecycle although I'm not sure how the system would behave if there is no SDCR.
    Thanks
    Mark

    Hello,
for the first please use SDMJ. SDMI is old.
You can create SDMJ directly without SDCR and his approval workflow. There is no problem.
It is not really clear how to work with Implementation projects and "changes".
    There are two known scenarios:
Implementation project (phase of the application management life cycle is "Implementation"):
If you have an really Implementation project for an Implementation of for example an new SAP product you should use an "Implementation project". It is not a change request!
Here you work with the known IMG-projects, blueprint, project phases.....
The transport process is realized via bc-sets. It means you create all you "changes" in bc-sets.
Implementation project (phase of the application management life cycle is "Optimization"):
Here you can use also the "Implementation project"
You can create SDMJ directly without SDCR and his approval workflow. There is no problem.
The transport process is realized via transport requests.
I guess the different between this two scenarios is the transport process.
    Hope this is helpful.
    Best regards
    Thomas

  • "Case use" technique for SAP implementation?

    Hello all,
has anyone used "case use" technique for SAP implementation? I mean for standard process, not only developing.
    Any recommendation about it?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Adolfo

It would be helpful to go through the help document of ASAP Methodology.
The following information may clarify some doubts/requirements you have.
Generating the Project IMG through ASAP:
After you have set the project scope, the next step is to generate the Project IMG. From the Business Process Master List (BPML), you can directly access the IMG activities relevant for configuring each process.
BPML: The Business Process Master List, along with the Business Blueprint, is a key result of the second phase of the Roadmap. Microsoft Excel tables contain the SAP scenarios, process groups, and processes that have been set in scope in the SAP Reference Structure, and are crucial for configuring your SAP System. In Realization, the third phase of the Roadmap, the BPML provides the basis for monitoring and steering test activities and for configuring your SAP System. It contains the titles of the structure items, and displays the status, the owner, links to documentation and links to the SAP System. Amongst other things, the BPML allows you to:
    1) Set your baseline and final scope. These are used for baseline and final configuration.
    2) Access the Project IMG and specific IMG activities assigned to structure items.
    3) Access integration test plans, which help you carry out all required integration tests.
The Prerequisite is you have set the project scope.
Process Flow to use the Business Blueprint as a basis for configuring your SAP System:
    1) Set the project scope.
    2) Generate the Project IMG.
    3) Generate the BPML.
    4) From a specific processes in the BPML, you can go to the relevant IMG activities and make Customizing settings.
