Does American Express require any extra coding to work in BC?

last week, we took our client online with their shop and have experienced our first issue with the Registration Buy form. The client received a call from a customer that our form would not take American Express as a card. I checked the form and yes, Amex is listed as a card option. (I did not change that).  I did not change the script at the bottom of the page either.  The client is using Authorize.net (US only) as the gateway.
Any thoughts? Anybody? Beuller?
www.shoplechameau.com is the site.
Thanks
Chuck

Thanks Liam,
In the interim, we were informed that the site rejected a VISA as well, the client was able to provide an error message and we have narrowed it down to an Authorize.net issue. My boss has submitted a case to BC, but I think he will get the same answer I gave him (and that you have confirmed). Just in case, here is a screen cap of the error message.
I have the client checking their information and looking into an issue I discovered on another site. Here is the gist of it from Authorize.net:
The confusion has to do with the two options, Transaction Server (Live or Test) and Transaction Mode (Live or Test).
From the Authorize.net developer site:
Quote
If you are posting your transaction requests to the gateway URLs https://test.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll or https://certification.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll and you are using an account given to you by an Authorize.Net Reseller or from Authorize.Net Sales, you may encounter this error. The gateway URLs mentioned above only work with specific test accounts, available upon request by completing the form at http://developer.authorize.net/testaccount/
Try posting your transaction request to https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll instead. If you need to submit a test transaction, you may do so by setting the field x_test_request to "TRUE". You may then remove x_test_request or set it to "FALSE" when you have completed your testing.
Since we can only access the type of server (regular or test) and not the Mode on BC, I am at a standstill.
But thanks anyhow,
Chuck

Sorry. What do you mean by "tds"?
Also, Airport Extreme is not a "modem". It is a router.
    Please rephrase your question.

  • Does BPIM configuration require any licensing ?

    Dear All,
We are involving system study of Business process interface monitoring (BPIM) in our landscape and BPA also,Our Interfaces are from systems ECC, PI, even some of the Legacy etc. In this kind of setup of BPIM, does any licensing is involved?
    any addition cost is required?
    Please provide the details.
    Thanks,
    Jansi

    Jansi,
as far as I know there is no licensing involved, if you have a variety of interfaces as long as they are documented in Solar01/02 you should be fine. Just have a structure in place at some place so that you can scope the function easily.
That is my take on it.
    Cheers!.

  • Does AirPort Express require better Internet than Ethernet?

Wondering since I was having intermittent problems w my Linksys router & trouble updating it so thought switching to Airport Express would give me a simple way to get things working.
Very disappointed that noes it's worse than before. Yesterday after a # of tries I did get it partly set up & although amber blinking lights, I was able to use Internet.
Called Set up AppleCare call online to resolve amber light issue. She had me reset modem & when we were done, I again had green light on Airport BUT NO INTERNET CONNECTION. She said to call my ISP cox.
I did try after a reset to connect MacbookPro directly to Ethernet & got it to connect. Then I unplugged Ethernet from Mac & plugged into airport & no connection again.
So instead of Airport Express making things better, they are worse. I'm typing this on my iPhone 4S which for some reason has really slowed down.
I learned that my old Motorola Surfboard modem is Docsis 2.0 & cox is switching to 3.0.
But it was working better, although frequent brief loss of connection.
So does Airport require a better modem or better connection than just Ethernet or via my Linksys E1200?
Not happy also that functionally worse off after calling AppleCare. I know she didn't cause the issue but her suggestion while standard tipped it over to not be connecting.
& typing all this on my iPhone is not fun although it did just now get back temporarily there for just a bit to its usual speed but now back to having to wait for it.

Well I did the power down reset. But I think you missed the import of my question.
I'm talking about an older modem that may be marginal. Not positive about the 2 Ethernet cables I have used either.
So yes if the modem is working as it should I guess it should make a difference.
But something is weird when I can can next via Ethernet & then I just unplug the the rent from my Mac & plug it into the wan port on the AirPort Express & no connection.
To look at the modem & Airport across the room the lights make it look like they are fine.
I just done have Internet connection to my Mac. I did yesterday w the amber lights flashing.
& I was connecting w the Linksys but had frequent loss of connection.
So wondering if maybe Airport has slightly greater requirements that act as a tipping point so it connected without it but doesn't connect w it. But the green light supposedly shows its working fine.
Well I did put out a wanted request on FreeOC for a compatible Docsis 3.0 cable modem. Supposedly they work better & that might just make the difference.
Don't really want to buy a new modem when I'm about to move to a new area where requirements might be different.

  • Does Airport Express Require Airport Extreme to Extend?

I have an SMC wireless router, and it has WDS as a feature, but I can't figure out how to get the AX to extend my network. Can someone give me a little help? I have a few questions, but feel free to interject anything I might be missing.
    1. Same channel for both wireless?
    2. Same SSID name?
    3. Does the base station name matter?
    Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately all WDS implementations are not equal. Most 3rd party devices are not compatible with Apple's WDS. One model of SMC has been reported to be compatible. Unfortunately I don't know the model.
    1. Same channel for both wireless?
    Yes
    2. Same SSID name?
    Yes
    3. Does the base station name matter?
You want them to be different.

  • Does Blackberry Classic requires any BES?

    Hello!
My company is using Blackberry Enterprise Service at the moment.
we want to stop using this server, due to the upgrade costs, but we would like to remain with blackberry devices and, mainly, to buy new blackberry classic devices.
Is it it mandatory to have the BES to access our e-mails of Microsoft Exchange server through the Blackberry Classic?
Or can it work like any Android and iOS device and access them directly (without the BES)?
    All help is appreciated!

  • Does a vlan require a extra host for VLSM

Basically I'm using the IP 192.168.0.0/16 on a network I'm making.
    I have:
    Staff: 250 hosts
    Support: 30 hosts
    Admin: 8 hosts
    Servers: 5 hosts
    HR: 50 hosts
Do i need to basically add 1 on to each so staff is 251 hosts.
I know we need to use a default gateway for VLAN.
I'm going to be using a 4 vlans and servers will be left as it is.

    Leo
Your response would be quite appropriate if you read the first line of the original post and then composed your response without reading further. But if you read further and especially when you get to this line
I'm going to be using a 4 vlans and servers will be left as it is
then it becomes very evident that treating it as a single network space /16 is not the appropriate response.
    Lee
I am not clear where you are going with this statement
Do i need to basically add 1 on to each so staff is 251 hosts. As I think about how you ask the question I wonder if this is an attempt to include/add an address for the gateway for each vlan.
But if you think carefully and clearly about the situation that you describe it becomes a series of questions about classical subnetting:
    - if Staff needs 250 hosts then what subnet is large enough (but not larger) to fit 250 hosts? answer is /24. (with 254 usable host addresses)
    - if Support needs 30 hosts then what subnet is large enough (but not larger) to fit 30 hosts? answer is /27. (with 30 usable host addresses) But if we also need to allow an address for the gateway (if there really are 30  Support hosts) the the address requirement becomes 31 and the subnet becomes a /26 (with 62 host addresses)
    - if Admin needs 8 hosts then what subnet is large enough(but not larger) to fit 8 hosts? answer is /28. (with 14 usable host addresses) note that this may be a bit tricky since a /29 actually has 8 addresses but if you reserve an address for the subnet and an address for the broadcast then it is no longer large enough for 8 hosts.
    - if Server needs 5 hosts then what subnet is large enough (but not larger) to fit 5 hosts? answer is /29. (with 6 usable host addresses)
    - if HR needs 50 hosts then what subnet is large enough (but not larger) to fit 50 hosts? answer is /26. (with 62 usable hosts addresses)

  • I have the new Air Port Extreeme model A1521 and I need to set up port forwarding for HTTP. HTTP is not on the list in the set up. Does anyone know if any of those choices work for HTTP?

I am on a Windows 7 Ultimate PC and right now there is no Airport utility for setting up the new Apple Extreme so you have to do it on your iPad or iPhone. Does anyone know how to set up port forwarding for HTTP to get to DVR security cameras? There is nothing in the list that indicates HTTP port forwarding.

Thanks for your reply Tesserax as I did figure this out on my own. It took a bit because all of the options are not clear what they are for like the previous Airport Extreme and Apple does not support or guarantee that port forwarding will work for you application nor did any of the Apple support persons I spoke too have any knowledge for this feature. You also have to fill in the public if you are viewing through someone else's Wi-Fi or on your cell phone carrier network. This new Airport Extreme is a bit different since you cannot use the Airport utility on a PC like the older model and if anyone else is reading this they should be aware that if you do not have an Apple computer, iPhone or iPad and I'm not sure if some of the other network enabled devices like iPod Touch that you must use that can do it, there is no Airport utility for the PC and you would be wasting your money or have to take it back and get another brand wireless router to use if you do not own any of the above mentioned Apple products.

  • Does anyone know if any usb keyboards will work with a imac g3

Do all usb keyboards and mice work with the imac g3

    Jimmer,
Just a note on PC keyboard function keys.  The windows function keys work but you will get frustrated by the location of the command key.  The 'undo' and 'cut' and 'copy' and 'paste are z x c and v but the command key on a PC keyboard is where the 'control' key is on a mac.  You will be giving the wrong command if you use the mac key location and the PC location is a stretch for your thumb to reach.  There is no harm done by plugging in another brand of USB device.

  • Does an Airport Express require a wired connection to boost a Wi-Fi signal if I already have a wired Airport Time Capsule on the Network?

I want to boost the Wi-Fi signal around my house. I have a 3TB Airport Time Capsule connected to my Virgin Media modem via a WLAN connection but wonder if an Airport Express device can be used at a remote location purely wirelessly - apart from a power connection obviously?

Does AirPort Express require a wired connection.......if I already have a wired AirPort Time Capsule on the Network?
No, but you will have much better network performance if you do wire the AirPort Express.
The reason for this is that when you try to extend a network using wireless, you will typically lose about a half of the potential speed capability on the network.
There is no network speed loss when you wire the Express.
Here is what Apple's support document says about this:
In the case of a wirelessly extended network, throughput may be reduced to less than 60 percent of that of a single device. The general rule is to keep the Wi-Fi network as simple as possible. You can accomplish this by using the minimum number of Wi-Fi base stations required to service the physical network area and by using Ethernet wherever possible.
Extending the range of your Wi-Fi network by connecting Wi-Fi base stations together using Ethernet is always the best option, and will provide the best throughput

  • American Express & Fraudulent charges

Hello everyone i have not been on The Forum for quite sometime, so let me get to the point last month. Around July 22th i recieved a call on my home phone  from a lady from American express, Around 5 or so that evening. She told me The call was regarding a past due balance of $2,443 , which she said it  was late by one day. After Briefly listening to her, and understanding the situation.I told her i was not aware that charges were being placed on the card, she quickly said let me transfer you over to account protection services.10 seconds after she placed me on hold, fraud was actively on the line she then said i have account protection services on the line. They can futher assist you from here and dismissed herself from call. Fraud came on the line after she dismissed herself from the call, the nice lady represented her self with the usual prompts , my name is jenny with account protection services on a recorded line. I told her i was not aware charges were being placed on the account she said what were the charges i said all of them since i was not aware. I asked her when will i recieve credit she said between 24 & 48 hours from the time of the phone call. She said they credit me back for anything i tell them that is fraudulent, and continue on with the investigation. After around 24 hours i recieved credits for the full amount i was pleased with the outcome, after my statement was issued through the paperless email statement i saw the credits from the fraudulent charges this is a month after the inital call. American express has not called me since they just credited me back reversed the charges and left me a happy Business Platinum card Cardholder. But why does American express have better sucess rate with disputes then other Credit card or charges companies.? All i can say anytime a charge or charges is fraudulent i am never liable after that one phone call everything is taken care of. I LOVE American express Because they value and trust there card members,  I Guess "Membership has privlleges" I Thank you all for reading my post and I'M Waiting for the great responces to come.

I think two things are being confused: 1) Fraud2) Disputes Amex has a good reputation on 2), where you DID make the charge, or some of the charge, but the merchant didn't deliver the service or product as promised, or changed the amount of the charge etc.   In these cases, Amex does seem to side with the cardholder more than most other issuers (but will not always resolve in your favor). For fraud, you have a $0 liability with all issuers.   There is of course overlap in how much you have to prove that it wasn't you making the charge, but I don't know if Amex is any better here.  And note all the posts praising Chase and others for PROACTIVELY detecting fraud.   Here Amex didn't, the charges posted and even became late.  I don't think this is an obvious "Great job Amex!" example at all!I agree!    It seems like the OP didn't use the card at all and didn't know there was even a bill until the late payment call.  I would rather get a call to verify before the bill. It's a balancing act.  If they make a habit of calling too often as charges are made, folks will simply use the card less because it becomes a hassle.  It really depends on the spending usage and pattern of the individual.  If a charge for an international plane ticket is charged to my card, I would expect a call, since I don't usually fly.  However, if I start getting calls for charges made out-of-state, it would get old quick since this isn't unusual for me.  Back when I did fly often, if I had started getting calls each time I purchased a plane ticket, I would have been OK the first time (or two), but after that I would have just used a different card.

  • Are there any apps which will allow local calling using data only that do not require any special numbers called out initially and does not require the receiver to have a similar app or account?

Are there any apps which will allow local calling using data only (not minutes, no extra charge) that do not require any special numbers called out initially and does not require the receiver to have a similar app or account?  Just for random local calling.

    Yup.
Here is a way you could solve this by adding an extra column and a small lookup table:
The lookup table is here for the copying:
    0
    1
    k
    kilo
    2
    M
    mega
    3
    G
    giga
    4
    T
    tera
    5
    P
    peta
    6
    E
    exa
    7
    Z
    zetta
    8
    Y
    yotta
In table 8 (the one on the left in the image) column A is where the values are.
    B1=A1÷(1024^VLOOKUP(INT(LOG(A1, 1024)), Binary Prefixes::A:D, 1))&" "&VLOOKUP(INT(LOG(A1, 1024)), Binary Prefixes::A:D, 2)&"B"
this is shorthand for... select cell B1, then type (or copy and paste from here) the formula:
    =A1÷(1024^VLOOKUP(INT(LOG(A1, 1024)), Binary Prefixes::A:D, 1))&" "&VLOOKUP(INT(LOG(A1, 1024)), Binary Prefixes::A:D, 2)&"B"
    select cell B1, copy,
now select all the cells in column B, paste

  • American express website does not allow me to pay my bill online

I am running firefox 3.5.13 on windows XP SP2. The previous release of Firefox worked fine. When I go to the american express web site and try to do the online bill paying routine it fails to work. It will show my account info as expected but when I hit the "Pay Bill" icon the next page that comes up is blank. It has "headers" or banners at the top and bottom from american express but nothing in between. At the bottom left of my display, the text reads "done" indicating the page had loaded apparently. I have disabled all plugins and extensions, cleared cookies and cache. What is wrong with this and how do I fix it? The page works as expected if I use IE but I do not care for IE.

Welcome to the forums.  You're talking to other customers here.  If you want to talk to Verizon you need to use the "contact us" link at the bottom of these pages.
There is an "idea exchange" on these forums, however it's not clear to me how much attention Verizon pays to it.  You might want to post a helpful suggestion there.
    http://forums.verizon.com/t5/Share-Your-Ideas-with-Verizon/idb-p/ideas
Note that online bill pay does not always result in a paper check.  For major payees like Verizon, most bill pay systems use an electronic check.  Not only does this save the payee the cost of processing the check, it eliminates the paper processing and postage costs for the bank.  In short, you're not costing Verizon much, if anything by using bank bill pay.  In fact, you may even be saving them a little money as the fees on credit card transactions are probably higher than the cost of accepting electronic bill pay.
    Have fun.

  • Does IC WebClient require a J2EE engine for any of its component

Does IC WebClient requires a J2EE engine for any of its component? What's the need to install j2ee engine on CRM server?
I would appreciate if anybody could give a good answer or any kind of documentation on it.

    Prakash,
The answer is yes in terms of the J2EE enginge being required.  It primarily handles your multichannel access and broadcast messaging for the call center.  If you don't install it, then your IC webclient will not work correctly.  We are not using the "telphony" features of the call center, but still installed the java piece so that the standard functionality would work correctly.
    Good luck,
