when i was looking for the finder in finder i found it and tryed to edit it and it said "you do not have permision to edit this" so i stoped and exited then later i saw that the finder icon in my dock is invisible i cant still open it but i cant see it i have tryed a lot of things but nothing has worked. i also tryed to edit the trash icon and that is invisible to i also cant rite clicck the things in the dock. i have no idea why mabye it disables the pic when some one trys to edit it. thanks for helping if you can.

When I start Firefox the window is invisible. Maximizing it works, but when I try to restore it to the previous size it becomes invisible again.
I've had this problem with other applications and then it was the stored window position that had become corrupted.
I've looked in the registry to see if the window position is stored there, but couldn't find it there.

Anyway the KB article also now has a better description for manually moving / resizing by first invoking "Alt+Spacebar" (Windows shortcut), thanks to your question.
I just realized you said you clicked on the taskbar icon, that choice does not appear to be possible in Windows 7 but "Alt+Spacebar" still works.

Filmscoring: Different meters lead to crazy results when you try to edit

I'm working with music, that includes a lot of meter changes all the time. Think of Strawinskys "Sacre" or Messiaens "Turangalila" or anything like that (I wish I had something of their genius...)
When I try to change the meter of any bar in the middle of the arrangement, the following bars often loose their original meter. This also occurs when I cut a period of time (with meter changes) and try to insert this sequenze(period) at another position. Sometimes Logic asks me if I want to add a measure to preserve the following meter changes. If I choose yes, the result is not what I wanted to have - and if I say no, its also chaos. The meters seem to change randomly after inserting. I cannot recognize a system in the behaviour of logics Mastertrack.
Also working with the meter-editor in Logic is not funny! If you have a complex score and change anything in the editor it can destroy your meters completely and you will be forced to do it from scratch - when you realize what happened.
Does anybody - who also works with a lot of meter changes -have the same experience with that problem?
I know, that's not only a Logic problem. I also know this issue from Cubase (My composition-professor at the university complained about that problem all the time)
I've lost so many hours with that silly thing.
I would appreciate your feddback very much.

i too use metre changes extensively. really extensively. logic is not friendly in its 'helpfulness' with regards to retrospective editing of them.
the best way i find is to enter them in score using the palette, and edit them the same way.
here is what the problem is, it may help you to understand the limitation (it is more of a limitation than a bug);
if you have a 2/4 and then later 4/4, when you edit the 2/4 so that the value of your new time signatures passes through 4/4, the 4/4 will be deleted. logic sees the 4/4 as being redundant. otherwise it will simply disappear until you edit the 2/4 to a value that will result on a full bar at that position in the piece. ie 1/4 or 2/8 or something.
i too have tried snipping time with complex signatures throughout a piece and have had nothing but nonsense to sort out. you can try and open the signature editor and editing the start of the time signature changes, but i either don't understand how to do it (in which case i suspect i am in very good company) or it is so poorly implemented as to almost justify the 'b' word. at the very least, the work flow for this sort of thing has not been considered.
what we need is for parts of the song to be locked - all tempo changes and signature changes locked into a macro structure that can be moved around within arrange. i really don't think we can expect that anytime soon with all the changes that have happened at apple but i could be wrong - i would love to be wrong. but i think ultimately, in years to come, we will get something like that.
imagine: we'll be telling our kids 'i remember when we were using logic 7 and you couldn't even lock time signatures!'

Entry in contact list does not show up when you try to edit the list in v4

When clicking the "To" box for a new message I have as the last entry a name in bold that is not something I recognize and when going into my contact list so as to remove it, it does NOT show up.
How do I get rid of it? IE: find it so as to delete it. Search in windows 7 does not locate the file. Below is header when asking for source.

If you created a new AppleID with the new email address, then that is exactly what will happen. Purchases are permanently tied to the AppleID you used when buying them. Anything tied to an old(er) AppleID is forever tied to it and you need that older AppleID's password to update those apps.
Your only option is to buy those apps again, paying a second time, to get them under your new AppleID.
For future reference, if you just wish to change the primary email you are using for your AppleID, you should log in to the "Mange your AppleID" section at https://appleid.apple.com and just edit the primary email address for your existing AppleID.

Widows 7 works well for me with many versions of Photoshop. I would suggest the you make sure you have installed all the latest Device Drivers for all the devices you have on your machine the Photoshop may use. Display driver, Mouse driver, keyboard driver, Tablet driver, Printer driver and also make sure you do not have two different display adapters enabled on you system.

Unfortunately, the proposed option does not help you, as before when trying to check in icloud you see the same. Just not when you try to turn on Face Time the message "Waiting for activation" and all, Face Time icon on the desktop is not ...

Quit AppleWorks,
In the Finder, go to:
username > Library > Preferences
In the Preferences folder:
Locate and Delete the File com.apple.appleworks.plist
Locate and Open the Folder AppleWorks
In the AppleWorks folder, delete the following files:
AppleWorks 6 Assistants Cache
AppleWorks 6 Preferences
AppleWorks 6 Translators Cache
Optional:
AppleWorks Button Bars
This file contains your Button Bar preferences. If you have made changes to the Button Bar, but hanve NO issues that can be traced to the Button Bar, it may be left in place.

If there is an option to "license this software", and it takes you to a sign-in page with username and password (not a serial number) - then just go ahead and sign in.
If it insists on a serial number you need to uninstall the trial. Then try to download again.

It's been a while but it should work on a Mac because Macs can read Windows formatted devices. Otherwise, you can perform a restore operation to return it to the Mac format. If you go to support.apple.com/manuals/ you can find a copy of the user manual for the model you have in which this is all explained.

Do not delete the old version of Numbers (Numbers 2.3, Numbers'09). It has features that the new Numbers has lost (in particular, Print View).
Numbers '09 has been moved to a folder called iWork '09 inside your Applications folder. The icon on your Dock continues to point to Numbers '09. Launching Numbers from that icon is why you get the "Update" message. Numbers 2.3 is trying to open a Numbers 3 document.
The new version of Numbers (Numbers 3.2 is the latest version) lives in your Applications folder (not a sub folder). Drag that icon to your Dock. It will become an Alias. Right click (or control click) on it and Options > Keep In Dock. Now you can chose which version to run.
Numbers 2 on the left (three columns)
Numbers 3 on the right (four columns).
Both versions will run happily side by side. Just be sure which version you use to open a Numbers document. If Numbers 3 tries to "steal" a Numbers 2 document, you will get a warning when you start to edit:
Edit a Copy will preserve your Numbers 2 document and create a Numbers 3 copy. Cancel will get you out. Upgrade will convert your Numbers 2 document to a Numbers 3 document.
If all else fails, you can do Menu > File > Export To > Numbers '09 to revert.
Do not delete Numbers '09 (or Numbers '08) from your machine! You will need them.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help it is most likely a hardware failure. Make an appointment at an apple store to have the device examined by a technician.
