is it good?? my macbook is getting very slow

I doubt that AppCleaner is going to speed up your Mac - unless you're short on hard drive space. Some companies have uninstall instructions or even apps on their websites for uninstalling their software. Use these instructions/apps if at all possible.
I've used AppCleaner a couple of times just to get rid of as much auxiliary junk as I can... but my use of it is limited only to those apps which I know haven't made any system modifications.
Be warned - without instructions/apps for uninstalling is the best method of uninstalling applications. Use AppCleaner only as a last resort.

thanks. yes i am aware of the VoiceOver feature but it is NOT the solution to my problem. as you said, it is a solution to a different set of issues. i want the text to speech ability because i there are books i need to read but do not have the time to sit down and read them and have become used to listening to them read to me either by a professional human reader or with the text to speech software on the Kindle.
I think Apple makes the best audio devices but i am really disappointed in this inexplainable shortcoming. if apple can give us siri they ought to be able to design a nice little button that i can push to turn on text to speech while i am in a document, book, magazine or webpage. clearly it is possible as apple has added the "reader" button in safari to have web pages dropped into the reader format.
thanks for your suggestion though, it is what everyone suggests but it does not address the issue.

I saw it somewhere on some site ages ago
(I like to align images together and take another screen grab without the darn shadow and without opening another app)

I found this:

but this soesn't seem to work

To get rid of the shadow and only capture the window, enter this line of code in Terminal:

Then to implement the change, enter:

To revert the modification and restore shadows, enter:

no one but apple knows for sure, and I'm willing to bet at this point in time all they have is a target date (if the software package was done it'd be released)
Bear in mind also, the first 48-72 hours after the software's release it's often quite challenging to get the update or it takes a lot of time because you're one of millions that are trying to get on the servers. So release date and available/accessible date can be separated by a bit.

I had this problem about 2 months ago and, as others have suggested in this thread, eventually traed it backed to some stills I had scanned and brought into the project. Accidentally I had changed the scanner settings, with the result that a couple of skills were well beyond 1980 x 1020 pixels. I resampled the stills and everything was fine again. Hope this might help.

Macbook Air failed wifi connection - Does anybody know the solution?

Macbook Air has been connecting to Wi-Fi network without issue for almost 2 years.
Haven't been able to find a solution to 'failed Wi-Fi connection' so far.
Wi-Fi is turned on but is not connected to a network.
Wi-Fi Settings Failed.
Have tried trashing:
Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.network.eapolclient.configurat ion.plist
Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.network.identification.plist
Networkintefaces.plist
And restart, but no change.
Mac OS X Version 10.7.5

Had restarted the router a few times to no avail.
Checked out the vendor's website, but wasn't able to find anything of use, -it was limited options wise.
Nothing in the OS X recommendations for Wi-Fi settings jumped out me.
I wasn't able to experiment with the band/channel settings.
I ended up buying a USB/Ethernet adaptor so I could at least have access to the net (5 days ago), -which didn't change the Wi-Fi issue...
However, after a couple of days without use, I've woken the machine and noticed the Wi-Fi signal at full strength. The network is detected and connected!
Problem solved ...But how?

There are serveral brands and models of security cameras, baby monitors and nanny-cams that have apps in the the app store. They are designed to accomplish exactly what you are describing. Each brand of camera has its own app.

I have 2 itunes librarys and dont like having to hold Shift when I open itunes every time to switch itunes librarys.
I want to create 2 shortcuts to itunes on my desktop, each containing a switch / command line to open the desired library

As far as I know, the only arguments iTunes.exe supports is a path to a file to start playing (music or video). You can't tell it via command-line switches to open a certain library.
I do however have a helper program that will do what you want. You give it the path to your library folder as an argument, so you have to create shortcuts to my exe, with the library folder as the argument.
For example, if the path to one of your iTunes Library is C:\library (i.e. inside C:\library is the file "iTunes Library.itl", the "iTunes Music" folder, etc.), then the shortcut target would be:<pre>C:\itunesopenlibrary.exe -b C:\library</pre>
The program works by editing the iTunes Prefs.xml directly, then starting iTunes. The -b switch is to make a backup of the prefs file before editing it. Note, however, that it only makes one backup; the next time you run itunesopenlibrary.exe with "-b", it will overwrite the last backup.

Does anybody know the difference between extractors 0FI_GL_4 and 0FI_GL_10?

BW experts: I have to extract GL data into BW, and I was assuming I would use 0FI_GL_4 datasource. However, I began looking around and see now 0FI_GL_10. I am not knowledgable on the finance side at all in SAP, so I don't know which extractor makes sense to use. Does anybody know what the difference is between these two extractors.

these two datasources are different from each other.
If you are still using the old GL - you need to use 0FI_GL_4
If you are still using the NEW GL - you need to use 0FI_GL_10
And one more thing to keep in mind id 4 extractor is meant for line items and 10 is for totals. And there is no std line item DS for NEW GL. You need to create ur own.

I am concerned about the second part where in for all the entities that has UDA GBP converts the values in USD & vice versa.
I went to the table in plnning web where we store the FX rates. At the top i can see a drop down for "To currency" which is USD, and in planning terms my guess is this is the base currency for the application? Then in row i see GBP and
in method it says "Multiply" and going forward it has all the avg and end rates stored for the Time periods. I want to know what this "Multiply" means? i retreived the rates on spreadsheet and found HSP_Rate_USD ==1. So above in the
second part of the script for USD entities and memeber GBP it divides USD rate by GBP Rate (1/ GBP rate) and i am not sure what rate we get by doing this division. I was assuming that it would take the local amonut and divide directly
with "HSP_Rate_GBP" ? For rest of the currencies as well its doing the same math. The 1 for "HSP_Rate_USD" is this a default value stored when application is created ?

- USD is your base currency ("Version"->"Currency"->"Entities"->"HSP_Rate_USD" = 1)
- exchange rates are defined as so that when you multiply them with the USD value, you receive the value in the given currency
Let's simplify the formula:

If the local curreny is GBP and my reporting currency is USD
Then USD = value in "Local" currency" * exchange rate GBP

Apple has two part number for 512MB PC133 144PIN module.
One is M9088G/A the other one is M9089G/A.
I am wondering whether both are compatible or not.

Do yourself a huge favor and take a look at OWC where that same RAM is almost half the price.
Apple does not make RAM and they seriously overcharge for it. OWC guarantees their RAM is Mac compatible and have a lifetime replacement warrantee.

I've fried my USB ports... does anybody know the model # for my motherboard

My usb ports are fried on my G5 and the apple suggested that I should add an internal usb card, which I did. However, sometimes it won't recognize my ipod and won't charge my ipod.
I'd like to exchange the whole motherboard and I've seen some on ebay but I am not sure abou the part number. Any ideas how I figure that out?

Be prepared for some sticker shock on a logic board.
I agree with hatter, though. Probably easier to find a better USB card.

Does Anybody know the Errorcode 196619 in relation to standard 2 port NI CAN Controller, LabVIEW 6i and WIN NT 4 - SrvPck 6.

Frequently the WIN NT 4 System hangs up when I start a LabVIEW Can Application. ( i.e. the NI CAN Examples.)
If I'm able to start the application it works propperly. I'm using the two ports of the PXI CAN Controller to test the communikation. ( CAN0, CAN1 )

Be sure that the card is plugged in tight. Do any other PXI cards work in the chassis? If not, there may be something wrong with the PXI hardware.
Also, be sure to install the latest CAN drivers from ni.com.
