Does anyone elses phone make calls by itself

my phone calls people on its own and has run up my wireless bill to over a thousand dollars. people have called me and told me my phone calls them up to 3 times a day.has this happened to anyone else?

My iPhone has been doing this for a while, but today was the first time I actually "caught" it dialing out on its own. My wife was sitting next to me in the car and her phone rings with my iPhone's caller id number. My phone was in its leather carrying case and I had not used it at all today. When I pulled my iPhone out of its case the screen was lit up and you could tell it was dialing out to my wife's phone. The funny thing was the "slide to unlock" was still in the locked position. We then watched as the phone tried to dial our home number a couple of times while we were going in and out of a bad cell area. My iPhone has already called someone I knew and left a recorded phone message of me talking to other people on their voicemail. At first I thought I must be touching the screen or doing something else wrong, but after today watching the phone dial out several times to different numbers without me touching the screen at all, I know that Apple has a serious glitch in their software.

Is your iPhone hacked/jailbroken?
If not, do the 4Rs troubleshooting steps:
Restart:
1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data
Restore from backup
Restore as new

Why wont my phone make calls?it was replaced Wednesday.

my old phone was messed up now that i got a new replacement the phone does not make calls.

well it is my phone can receive calls but, it wont work i just hear a lot of noise and the call ends. It a new phone idk what can possibly go wrong it has only been two days.

I have an iPhone with sprint, and it has worked more than amazingly prior to this. It wasn't until last night around 12am that this started. I have had the phone for 4 to 5 months now. I got a white 16G iPhone 5 last Sunday (Jan 6th 2013) and I have already been on the phone with apple once and in the store twice about this issue. The phone randomly shuts itself off or freezes on a blue screen for 5-30 minutes at a time. Apple reset my phone thinking that would fix the issue, it didnt. I went into the Sherway location while it was frozen and they told me i couldnt get an appointment until tomorrow so ill have to wait... I'm hoping that they just gave me a dud of a phone and that when i go back in tomorrow they will just give me a new phone because this is getting ridiculous. if this problem continues once they finally give me a new one than i suggest that no one else buys the iPhone 5. I had the 4 and had only one problem in a year and a half, and i've had more in one week with this model. Let me know if anyone else is experiencing this too or if my phone is just a dud.

First I would try restoring from your backup. If that does not work I would restore to factory-new condition and manually add apps and other things back on since there may be something corrupted in your backup.

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.

Does anyone elses viewer still turn black?

Anyone? Am I the last person having this problem? When I upgraded to 1.5.2 a little while back it stopped. But it's come back with a vengance today. I can't work for more the half an hour before the dreaded black viewer rears its ugly head. After bringing a very small group of files (about 40) and doing a variety of editing task (crop, WB, exposure, highlight and shadow, etc.) it started giving problems. I've quit and restarted Aperture and rebooted my MAC. I don't even have a particulary large library yet, only about 2k files. I'm shooting a Canon 5D, mostly 12mp RAW format.
I've been all over this discussion group reading thread after thread about this issue and never found a definitive answer to the problem. Did I miss it? If so, please point me to it before I loose my mind. The only thing that I saw in common with some of the threads was a few people mentioned that they were doing a managed workflow (as am I). None of the machine configurations were identical. Could there be a difference in how Aperture operates when handling a managed as opposed to referenced workflow?
If it does turn out to be the graphics card that Aperture forced me buy that would really tick me off, since it's on Apples list of compatible cards.
Anyone else?

Mike I myself kinda work with the same set-up as you do and I know of the problem you speak of. I rarely have had that problem anymore but only because I've learned of a few ways to avoid it by reading some of the previous post of other people experience. One thing I learned was when I use the Highlights / Shadows, or Crop photos, it usually begins to start making my photos go completely black. So I use those edit options till the end of my workflow. I'm not a professional photographer but I do love to take all of my photos in RAW. Also I edit in Aperture in Maximize Viewer mode instead of full screen which I feel helps. I scroll the divider from the image itself and thumbnail views so the Aperture windows is divided nearly in half. I've realized the smaller the Image I am editing is in the Viewer, the faster Aperture responds without any delays. Once I am done with editing I will then inspect them in full screen if needed.
Only after all my adjustments are made will I then begin to Crop the photos if needed, with the same Maximize Viewer Mode. Only at this point do I sometimes begin to experience the black out of Images. I usually just quit Aperture and come back later to Crop images as I edit photos for myself, not for business purposes. . I hope this helps and I hope I made sense it is 3:15 am here and I am tired but I know what your going through and wanted to offer help. Like I said most of this info I found by searching the forums from other people with similar experiences. With the way I work in Aperture lately following what I mentioned It doesnt really get on my nerves anymore with the blackouts as before cause I've learned to work with Aperture since I do not have the best Hard Core Mac set-up.

Does anyone elses iphoto thumbnails show the wrong photos in album ?

This is a relatively new problem i am having.... when i open an album and the zoom is over c.20% or you change the zoom the thumbnails show the wrong photo. when you open to edit, the correct photo opens. This is veeeerrrry annoying. can anyone shed any light on this ?

I don't know why that started happening for you.
Try this:
Close iPhoto
Navigate to where you have the iPhoto Library on your hard drive
Drag the three thumbnail files found loose in the root of the Library folder to the desktop
Hold down the Command and Option keys while launching iPhoto until you get the rebuild window
Choose the options to rebuild the thumbnails
Hopefully this will fix it for you.

Does photoshop for phones make use of my quad processor?

I have an incredibly fast Galaxy Note II with a quad core processor. Even with this being the case, It seems that most filters or processes I apply to my images take a LONG time. I was just wondering if the app actually took advantage of my multiple cores?

Yes it does. However filter and effects are depending on the power of the GPU!

Does anyone know Directory Utility is called on a Dutch system?

I'm trying to install a MAMP on my system and I've found a tutorial on Internet that says that I have to open the Directory Utility in System > Library > Core Services (in Dutch: Systeem > Bibliotheek > CoreServices) but I can't find the Directory Utility. I assume that this is translated to Dutch since I'm using a Dutch system.
Does anyone know what is called?

Can't make calls or sms on iphone 3gs after iOs5 upgrade?

I upgraded to iOS5 on my iphone 3gs and I am having major problems connecting to the 3g network. I can't make or recieve calls or sms, or log on to the internet over the 3g network. wifi works fine, but that doesn't help with the calls or the sms, and i can't always be on wifi for my emails. the phone worked fine before the upgrade.
i've restored the entire phone as a new phone, i've gone in to the apple store and had my phone looked at, they say there's nothing wrong with the hardware.
i live in Canada and my carrier is Rogers - of course when I call them for help they say it must be the phone not their network. they'd rather i buy a new phone and sign another 3 year contract
the only thing that seems to help is restoring network settings. immediately after doing that I can make calls, send and receive sms, and use the internet over 3g. but it only fixes it temporarily... after about 15 mins I'm back to the same problem. can't make or receive call etc.
anyone else having this same problem?

After 2 hours with Apple Support, which was great, we figured out the issue. 1-800-my-iphone. When I upgraded to iOS5 and started using the iCloud, I was unaware that my previous synching settings were still set to Yahoo.com where I had been sycning wirelessly in the past. So the Apple support tech showed me that I had multiple accounts in both Notes and Contacts. I had iPhone, iCloud, yahoo, Outlook accounts and my default settings on the iphone should have all been set to icloud. Syching was occuring, but not in icloud. It took a little manual conversion of some Notes and Contacts into the icloud folders in Outlook, but now everything works and I only display and use the iCloud accounts in Notes and Contacts. Apple realizes that this is an issue for those of us that were previously using Yahoo and equivalents for wireless synching and they provded my support free. Usually they charge $27. All is well.

I cannot make any calls or receive calls from my iPhone after my last update. My phone advises callers I am unavailable and when I try to make calls it takes ages whilst it tries to connect then disabled itself and says call failed. You have a password, so good move on your part. Whether you erase it or the thief does, they still get to use the iPhone as theirs. Which is more important (pick one), protecting your data or punishing the thief?
Ringing occurs at the carrier. Chances are you're going to voicemail after only two or three rings. If you have an iCloud backup also a good move. Re-read my question in the first paragraph.
